Very unique place. Loved the atmosphere and the wooden fire pizza was fantastic. Only down fall was the lemon raspberry seltzer. I figured it would be similar to a white claw or truly but it was not even comparable. The flavor was more beer like. Hard to really describe it. Was drinkable just not to my preference liking.
Great brewery close to Columbus. Newly remodeled, nice bar and tasting room. Plenty of new IPAs and other beers that were not on website. Each time I come down here, they have something new. Reminds me of local DC area brewery Blue Jacket Brewery by Navy Yard where they are not afraid of experimentation.. Yes, “Zest Experimental IPA “ is on the menu.. Highly recommend.. they have Food Truck also.!
Attended an event in their outdoor space - staff is very friendly/accommodating. Seems to be a place regulars come to often.I dont drink alcohol, but everyone that I heard commenting on the brewerys offerings had positive things to say. The food was good, we got an assortment of pizzas. The location is gorgeous, especially in an Ohio autumn.
It was our first visit with a group of 9 to celebrate a birthday. Service was great, they let us bring in birthday cupcakes! The weather was great so enjoyed all the outdoor seating. The beer was good with a huge selection, so something for everyone. We didnt try the wine. Well be back!
Get away from the city and enjoy this gem! Theyve consistently had AMAZING beer ever since they opened and your free to to roam the beautiful property. Plus, the owner is a great guy and puts on great local music showcases. We would have gotten married here if they could have accommodated our giant guestlist!
In a perfect world, this is how every micro-brewery would look and feel. Set into the countryside, near flowing water and on a beautiful road, Rockmill is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Craft beers, excellent pizza, sandwiches, and the apple cake we had was brilliant. Sadly we get to Ohio only every other year.
Do not mistake the 4 stars as a knock, it is more an expectation that a wonderful place can be just a bit better. The setting is worth the drive and the variety of brews make it worth coming again and again. The food, however, needs a bit of work. We had the cheese plate but no utensils to divide the stuff so we were fumbling with hands... The pizza was tasty but the crust burnt to ensure it was cooked. Little dings, but you will surely enjoy the visit!
Wow great variety of beer, good pizza and beautiful view.
Gem of this area. Cant believe I hadnt stopped here before. If you are passing through, grab lunch and beers. If you are a local, I am so jealous that you can Uber to the place. Keep it up Rockmill.... Would love to camp on the grounds!
Havent been here in a couple years. The new tap room with patio is amazing! This place has always been a beautiful gem, and the additions are like a gorgeous ring to hold the gem.I got the Ribeye pizza and duck fat popcorn from the new food menu. It came out quick, hot, and DELICIOUS.Saison and farmhouse are not my favorite styles of beer, but Rockmill is one brewery I enjoy them from. Today I had the Caamp IPA and the Vanilla Stout, both were amazing. The IPA was very distinctive, with notes of lemongrass I usually find only in pilsners. The Stout was heavy, warming (8% abv) with great roasty flavors and sweet, smooth vanilla.Staff was all very kind and friendly, helping me get in and out in the quickly. Ill be back soon for sure!
It was awesome! food was great, we even saw some good live music while we were hanging at the pond! Caught a few fish as well, along with the great selection of beers we will definitely be back
What a great place! The beers are great. The pizza is outstanding. The wait staff are very nice. And the patio is dog friendly. What more could you ask for?
Wow! What a beautiful setting! They are dog friendly too! Beers are amazing, and they have something for everyones taste buds. We also had their popcorn popped in duck fat with sea salt! It was killer!
One of Ohios Hidden Gems...and they make great beer.Rockmill is a little bit of a drive from Columbus, but once youre there you;ll understand why so many people make it.The location is wonderful and the grounds are great for walking, having a picnic or just hanging out by the fire and enjoying a beer. They make great Belgium style beers and you cannot go wrong in the tasting room.,
Great location to relax and have a beer. Their Belgian specialty is spot on. Want to enjoy a true to form Belgian influenced beer and kick back a bit? Get your butt on over to Rockmill.
Great beer, scenery, and food. Don’t bother making a reservation, it’s all open seating. Seemed understaffed, they were pretty busy on a Thursday. The two people working did their best to keep up.
Great place, but the food... needs work. Pizzas are made from quality ingredients, but fall down on the follow through. The last one we got had crust that was burned black on one half, but doughy inside. Not a figure of speech; the inside wasnt crust, it was still dough. It was a carry out, so I couldnt really send it back. Get a handle on this RMB. I want to give you 5 stars.
My wife and I have been going to Rockmill Brewery for almost five years now and we love it more and more with each visit. While the delicious selection of on-site brewed beers is enough to keep us coming back, it’s the beauty of the property that makes this place truly special. There are acres of land and forrest to explore, as well as a beautiful little lake behind the house. The tap room is located inside the beautiful house that is located right next to the brewery. The house has several rooms with ample seating for people to settle in and get comfortable. If you plan on staying for a while, pack some food to eat inside the house or have a picnic outside! Make sure to say hello to Judy, one of the owners of Rockmill Brewery. She’s sweet, hospitable, and always looking to make customers feel valued. Love this place!
Environment is wonderful! Beer and food great. Prices kind of high!
Ive traveled extensively for work, and always explore breweries and restaurants. Rockmill is a hidden gem. World class beers and the most beautiful location you could imagine. So thankful this place exists here in Ohio. Would recommend it as a destination to anyone visiting or passing through Ohio. The saison is up there with the best Belgians (Fantom, etc).
This place is beautiful and the food / beer is fantastic. Worth the drive from anywhere.
Nice family get together for a memorial service. Thanks!
Great beer and fantastic pizza. Really nice facility with good dog friendly outdoor seating
Loved absolutely everything about it!! A delightful experience!
Great waitress, great beer, good food in an expansive outdoor eating space.
You won’t find a better place to wind down at. Grabbed some beers from the Tasting Room (the house was closed for a private party) and walked down to the pond and creek and let the kids run around to blow off some energy. After the kids ran around we headed up to get some killer BBQ. That guy for sure knows how to smoke brisket and ribs 🤤! One minor knock is that they don’t have any non smoked menu items, kids are both under 3 and aren’t huge fans of it yet. Not totally complaining because I got to eat more Mac n cheese and had a hot dog, but did have to stop on the way home to feed them.Would also love to see a sandbox somewhere on the property away from those who don’t enjoy kids (like me. Sshhh lol). We could have stayed longer and kept them content if a sandbox or something was there for them. I mean, I guess we could have, but we were trying to enjoy our beer 😌!
Solid beers, great location, friendly staff. Would happily return!Took me 3 years, but I made it back. Some of the best Saison Ive had, ever. Age their triple, grab a few pints of the IPA (a little disappointed they caved to the IPA crave) and bring your picnic. Not only great beers but a beautiful house/location. Plan to relax and stay for a few.
First timers. Serene, enjoyable, really good craft beer. Great for a date night regardless of age.
Interesting explanation of how the mill operated and its history. Thanks
We found this place while exploring the Columbus Ale Trail and the Route 33 Brew Trail. We absolutely love it! We loved the Farmhouse and we love the the new Taproom. The outdoor area is beautiful, make sure to bring good shoes if you plan to walk the property. Make sure to check the calendar if you want to go when the food truck is there to try the dynamite Brisket and other great BBQ foods. Youll also want to taste the new Drafthorse Double IPA, youll thank us later!
Great food and nice outdoor seating area!
Family friendly, awesome beer and property.
This is a great destination place to come to. Say you dont have kids for the night and you want relaxation time outside of your house with a nice view. Great beers, great scenery, friendly people and unique in its own. I enjoyed walking around the property a bit with beer in hand. Cant wait to revisit!
Last night was our first time at Rockmill Brewery. Showed up with no reservations and they were completely accommodating to us. Very professional and informative. Our first experience was very pleasant and had an awesome time. The pizza and beverages that was recommended, was spot on. Our waitress, Stacey made sure we were taken care of and even stayed over to make sure our first experience was positive and memorable. Thank you Stacey!! We will be back.
The best property for sights and adventuring. Grab a beer and relax in nature. Loved it!
Lovely place to grab a beer, eat some pizza, hike around the ground. Great during fall days with the out side fireplaces. Highly recommend if you want to get out of Columbus for awhile.
Wonderful!.Beer, food atmosphere all an A+. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.
I wish I could give Rockmill Brewery 6 stars, especially with how they are staying safe during the pandemic. Before the pandemic, this was one of my favorite places in central Ohio- it is so well worth the drive. Who doesnt love a massive outdoor property where you can bring your own picnic and drink delicious beers? I loved the old cabin space, and I also really appreciate the design of the new tasting room and outdoor patio space. During the pandemic, this is one of the only places that I feel comfortable visiting- They have also been taking COVID precautions very seriously.
Great pizza and beer plus dog friendly!
This place is beautiful! And the beers are great! Only downside is its pretty expensive compared to other breweries and the portion size of the food is small for the price.
What a delightful find! Just a short jaunt from Columbus through the beauty of Fairfield County, lies this great escape. A historic and scenic gem with a lodge like vibe, blazing fires inside and out, great beer and oven fired pizza, food truck, and a friendly crowd. An experience worth savoring and repeating!!!
Awesome Beer! The staff is pretty good too.
Love this brewery! They definitely specialize in Belgians, but have many other kinds of beers. The dubbel and rugged expanse stout are very good. For me though, the selling point of this brewery is the location. The new restaurant area is beautifully rustic with great pizza and sammies, but the property the brewery sits on is perfect. Great place to spend an afternoon in the spring, summer & fall. Make sure to leave a few minutes to walk down to the chapel, stream and pond to check it out. The old farmhouse where they host events has charming nooks and crannies. Perfect for curious guests.
Beautiful place, pizza was pretty good. Beer was excellent. Chilly day to be eating outdoors but there were plenty of us scattered about the lawn. Funny what a pandemic will push people to do!
Nice place to visit. Great food and staff.
Enjoyed this place great beers, good food, nice setting.
Pizza oven great
The greatest place on Earth
This place is so magical its like heaven on earth. We made friends with the owners who were super accommodating and friendly. Their lifestyle truly is the dream and Im glad I was able to experience a slice of it. Good dogs, good people, good vibes, better beer. 5/5 stars without a doubt.
What a cool place!! Even without a reservation, they found seats for us. Weather turned before we got a chance to walk around the grounds and explore, but the beer, nuts, popcorn and olives were awesome. Staff very welcoming and very knowledgeable!!! We will be back!
Here now. 42 minutes in the farmhouse before even having drinks ordered. Didnt have full beer menu at farmhouse (then why display the menu). Now 25 minutes waiting to order food. .Really regretting choosing thisShe just took out food order. Had to text it to the kitchen?!?!
I have been a patron of Rockmill for many years. I recently bought a 6 pack of petite saison from my local market. Something was definitely wrong with it and I emailed the website directly explaining what was wrong. I am familiar with how the beer is supposed to taste out of the bottle and out of the can. It was flat and uncommonly sour. I emailed stating I would even return the cans to the Lancaster brewery for an exchange but received no response. This is odd as Rockmill prides themselves on the flavor profile in their beer and I have had nothing but rave reviews for them in the past. I don’t care how busy a company is; this is something you typically wish to rectify when it comes to your attention. Disappointed to say the least from this amazing brewery.
Weve been coming here (45 min drive) for years for great beers and a cozy unique atmosphere to gather with friends. Unlike any other brewery in central Ohio. We didnt realize the Farmhouse was no longer open, and found the new tasting room to feel small, sterile and like all other tasting rooms. Definitely not conducive for gatherings like we used to have. Really miss the charm and special memories we made in the other building. Its just not the same. We wont be back :(
Great beer and beautiful scenery! The farm house was amazing and I wouldnt hesitate to have a wedding there. The staff was super friendly and the walk around the pond was so picturesque.
Great place!
Beer selection, pizza and roasted nuts were all great
Delicious pizza and brews. Abundant outside space with plenty of social distancing and adherence to Covid rules.
Great atmosphere and beer selection! Staff is very friendly!
The new tap room is fantastic
Great service and great beer. A reminder to make 2 hr reservation.
Very good attitude and atmosphere.Really enjoyed the time spent there.
My husband and I are super easy to please, but were very disappointed by both of our experiences here. The beer is not great, and the experience isnt worth the drive. The first time we went down the bartender was older and passive aggressive towards everyone, but we gave the benefit of the doubt because everyone has a bad day. We returned after the COVID reopening and were extremely disappointed by their lack of response and confusion with reservations (our friends have had the same experience with reservations and trying to plan events) and the bartender in the tasting room was again older and passive aggressive, taking her mask off to talk to everyone and snapping at more than one person in line when they were not busy. The man driving the golf cart around selling beers appeared intoxicated (even moreso than someone working at a brewery should be.) There seemed to be no regard for ensuring social distancing or having their guests stay in one place with their alcohol. We wont be back
So beautiful and relaxing. My 2nd visit.
Awesome atmosphere, friendly people, great beer, a d beautiful property...what else do you want?
Great pizza, great beer, good prices well worth the stop and visit. Thank you!
I love this place. The Dubbel is my new fav, and you cant beat the view.
Very unique and beautiful
Great place to sit outside, enjoy good beer and practice social distancing. We will go back.
I fell in love with this brewery. It was my second to last stop on the Columbus ale trail and turned out to be my favorite out of 32. It is so unique and beautiful. It feels very welcoming and cozy. The beer was good. The staff was good. There is great outside seating with a nice few. I highly recommend a visit. Only bummer is it is far from the city. So drive responsibly
Great brewery out in the country with a small lake and grounds that you can walk around.
Awesome Belgian beers that were very unique. The cherry sour ale was incredible. Great atmosphere with nooks all over the bar and building for your party/ group to hang out with relative privacy. Also a permanent food truck with some of the best pit BBQ that Ive had outside of Texas. Cant say enough about how cool this place is!
Outdoor seating was awesome, food was awesome and brews were awesome. The end.
Always a fantastic place to visit. Beers are great and staff is super friendly. Beautiful setting overlooking a pond and the woods. Kid and Dog friendly. For busy days/holidays, bring a blanket to lay out on or camping chairs and enjoy.
Nice location. I liked about half of the beer they brew. Each persons tastes are different. I wish they served food to pair with their beer. They do allow you to bring your own food. The scenery is great and the employees were wonderful.I cant comment on the tour as I did not take one.
