Great place to find discounts on building material. It was our first time stopping in and Cooper was very helpful in explaining everything and the guys that help load were also very polite. I really like the system they have to load your trailer over the fenders.

Great customer service. Stopped in to take a look at composite board for our clients and they were very helpful with information. In fact they were the best customer service that I have come across while trying to find the composite board we needed. Placed the order came to pick it up and they helped us load our items. They do offer delivery as well.

Purchased a couple thousand $ worth of Wolf Serenity and Azek PVC decking / facia board from them about 4-1/2 ; 5 years ago.7 - 8 boards of the Wolf Serenity began to produce white chalky spots about yr. 3, I applied a cleaner brightener to the deck and the problem resolved itself for about 6 months.Fast Forward to this spring 2020 and these 8 boards look like the pics Ive attached; completely chalked over and the top layer is flaking offI stopped by the store about 2 months ago, mentioned the issue I was having, and was told basically Oh Well . Did you buy the Non-warrantied Wolf serenity that we were selling back then??NO NOT BY CHOICE!! but maybe your employees that loaded the decking onto my trailer loaded some of the wrong material...?? - its 8-16 ft boards out of 525 sqft.The Employee proceeded to try and find my account in their system, and low and behold they said they had no record of me purchasing it from them.... I have the credit card statements... & receipts ( which I did not have with me that day I stopped though. )I purchased supplies from them on at least 5 occasions, decking & decking installation materials, knotty pine tongue and groove ceiling / wall boards, trim etc.I was told I could purchase DECK MAX restorer from them and the employee pointed across the showroom. Ironstone is selling it fr $145.00 a 1 gallon jug ( you can buy it directly from Deck MAX for $94 for the same size ) just an fyi to anyone that needs it.All I wanted was some direction / help as to how I could get replacement boards that matched the boards I have on 98.5% of the rest of the deck, its about 525 sqft. Looks to me that Wolf redesigned the Serenity product and the same Amber wood Product now has a different texture.But what I got from the Employee was rude treatment and 0 help.I unfortunately will never recommend them to anyone I know or who mentions the business name in conversation.A shame a 1 star could have been a 5 star so easily...

I am a contractor in Minnesota. This lumberyard is in Pennsylvania. I had been searching for 1 deck board of a discontinued product. We had an incident on a job site that required 1 boards replacement of a next to impossible product to find.After calling every supplier and vendor I know, I started a nation wide search to random vendors. I spoke with Sean at Irongate and he said they did not have it either but he had used the same product on his daughters tree house and would look around to see if he had any extra. You know what he did, he went home, checked and had one then texted me that night!!! I wish I had that kind of service, caring and effort here in MN. I’d rate Sean and Irongate 100 stars if I could.

Best prices on composite decking, came from MD to pick up materials saved me over $300 in deck boards alone. The woman who helped me was nice and helpful in selecting the right hardware. The guys in the yard were great and attentive. They noticed a couple rough and nicked spots in the boards and quickly put them to the side in junk pile. I barely noticed those imperfections in those boards and they could have easily gave them to me but they didnt. This place was crazy busy too, yard employees were loading trucks non stop while I was there.

Cool reclaimed vanity collection. Too bad we looked around in the showroom for 30 minutes and NO ONE acknowledged us or offered to help.

I had the best experience today working with Mike Farley. We have been wanting to re design our kitchen and add cabinets to a newly re designed basement. Mike through Zoom walked us through the products and measurements to design our kitchen. We were on the phone for over 2 hours!! It was simple with Mike. We are now waiting for the design to come in this evening and we are ready to order our dream kitchen. Mike made this experience unbelievably easy. What an asset to a business owner. Especially in these trying time. We are extremely happy customers.

This is how a business should be run. The will deliver to new York if you purchase enough. I had to rebuild my house and bought most of the supplies here. The prices made it well worth coming here. Good place to keep in mind for projects, but like most discount building supply places, at the end of the day youre paying for what you get. Most items have zero warranty, a lot of off-brands, the items they have are seconds, thirds, or worse, and theyll tell you how much the (pick your item) would cost if you bought it somewhere else -but if you do your research you know its not the truth.All that being said, you can save money here over big box stores, the yard crew is generally helpful and pleasant, but they close early -so dont just roll over there at 6:30pm because all the other stores are open at that time.

The Ikea of building supply stores. Staff is not particularly helpful, stock isnt super organized, very mediocre quality goods. Occasionally you can find something great for a good price but overall not worth your time. I would totally avoid this place unless you are very familiar with your task/project in order to judge material quality.

Have bought PVC decking and truckloads of PVC trim at deep discounts several times in recent years, doing a farm-house rehab. Theyre always happy to check their in-store inventory system to ensure it matches whats posted on their website BEFORE you drive an hour to purchase, and one time, when we misjudged how well a certain length material would fit in our pickup, they offered to loan us a saw. Excellent, well-managed company from our experience, and NO, I am not the owners sister-in-law.

Do not buy from these guys. I spent 6,000 on material for my deck plus 800.00 for a delivery fee and just 2 short years later my deck is turning black (its suppose to be a medium brown). We called them and they said our warranty is over and they couldnt help us!!! Buyer beware if you want a deck to last forever buy Trex because this company sells fake products. NEVER AGAIN WILL I REFER ANYONE TO THEM.

The wood supply never changes. I have been waiting for shiplap to come in and it NEVER does. The employees are ignorant and act as if asking them a question, placing an order, or being in the store is complete annoyance. It’s not just one employee its all the desk employees. However, the yard guys are awesome. I would rather pay 4x the price just to never go in there again.

Purchased sight unseen roughly 105 Timbertech composite boards and numerous posts and railings. Had their 3rd party deliver from PA to Toledo, OH. An unbelievably terrific experience. Incredible price, delivery within days by a courteous, careful, professional who knew what he was doing, and out of 105 boards, there were only TWO boards slightly marked, each on the bottom and of no consequence. Nothing missing, and all material expertly packed. An astonishingly good experience. If you’re looking for discount building materials I cannot recommend Ironstone enough. Thank you much.

Ive been using Ironstone for a while now and have never had a problem with them, or any of the products they sell. In the past I bought some end run wood flooring, windows and some siding from them.Recently I bought all new kitchen cabinets from them, they had the best price and I knew that I could trust them. I made a major mistake when order them, and they bent over backwards to help me resolve it. When was the last time you saw Lowes or Home Depot try to help you fix your own mistake??I will continue to use Ironstone, and I highly recommend them.

This building used to be the 84 Lumber Company. Decided to stop in and see what they had. In the building I found mostly rough sawn pine surfaced one side and some with tongue and grove. You can order kitchen cabinets and there are displays of rustic/rough sawn cabinets. There is an outdoor display of composite (plastic) deck material. This is not a general building material store like Lowes.

I first became aware of Ironstone Building Supply in Lancaster, Pa via Craigslist. They have a nice selection of quality closeout and overstock building supplies. Their website is loaded with product detail and pricing. I strongly advise going over the website and doing a little product research before visiting the store. This will help immensely in your discussions with the staff and ensuring you get the best value on material for your project. Most of the store itself is a small storefront in a much larger warehouse. I really like the whole concept, the selection, the quality (runs the whole spectrum for just about everybodys wallet), the pricing, etc. Customer service, like most other places, is hit or miss depending on the time of day and whos waiting on you. The one salesman, a tall older gentleman, stood out from the rest in the customer service dept. He seemed genuinely eager to assist, was extremely knowledgable and took his time answering all questions. Most importantly, he seemed to enjoy his job interacting with customers. Now, thats a novel concept, LOL! Delivery was reasonable as they only charge one-way. Their 20 trailer should handle most loads yet get into the smallest sites with ease. I would have given them a higher score but, unfortunately, their customer service needs some work. That said, Id definitely consider them for future projects.
