This place was alot of fun! We arrived late on a Saturday and didnt finish our pieces so we came back a second time on Sunday to do so. Dozens of fun pieces to choose from and a good selection of glazes. Tools and techniques available to create your own one of a kind piece. Im really looking forward to seeing the finished pieces soon. The buckeye frappe at the cafe was fantastic too, very decadent way to finish our visit.

My family and I went in one day to try it out the crafts were overpriced but we painted them anyway was charged $72 and they lost my sons gnome but the other children got theirs and they wouldnt refund me just give me a voucher so my son was very upset I will never go back to this place again.........Im responding back to your reply,we were never asked to write anything on our pieces and if we were we would of happily done so so we could of avoided this issue.this was a family thing that we did so we could have this memory of this day.i would be happy to take a voucher and whatever else you would like to offer us so we could try again.my son was upset and cried because his brothers got theirs and he didnt get his so he was sad because hes 6 and didnt understand why his got lost

So this is the first review I have written. Throughout my long life I have been to a multitude of places and have never felt so moved to leave a review the way I have at this moment. That is how remarkable this experience at Art and Clay on Main was. I was on my way down south for a business trip and accidentally missed my exit to bypass Lancaster, OH. This was truly a blessing in disguise as it led me to Art and Clay on Main.First, right when I walked through the door I was welcomed by the staff and manager with a hello and great big smile on their face. Since it was my first time at this establishment I was not entirely sure what to order. Luckily, the guy working at the counter was as helpful as could be. He recommended the Buckeye lotae and boy it did not disappoint! This drink took me right back to childhood giving me flashbacks to chilly days at my grandparents house. Not coming from an artistic background I did not have any intention to sit down and paint a ceramic piece. However, I just could not resist the wide variety of pottery they had to offer. Having ties to Paris I decided to paint the Eiffel Tower. As previously stated I do not have a ton of experience in the painting industry. Luckily, once again the guy working the counter, I believe his name was Ray or Jay, came to the rescue and gave me some helpful pointers to painting this Eiffel Tower. When I finished I could not believe my eyes. To this day it is the most breathtaking piece of art I have in my house.I would like to thank Art and Clay on Main for providing me with one of the best experiences I have had in my life. If it was possible to rate a place 6 stars I would do it in a heartbeat. You can bet I will be coming back as soon as I can and will be bringing my whole family this time! ~Lane

Super cool place. They have a wide selection of pottery pieces to choose from in a range of prices to fit just about every budget. Smaller pieces are around $5-$6, bigger ones can be as much as around $70. Good variety of paints to use to customize your piece. You can take as long as you like to paint (need to be done same day). Depending on the size of the piece and how much detail you want to put into it, plan on at least an hour and a half for smaller, easier pieces and several hours for bigger or more detailed. It takes a week or less to get your finished piece. They also have kits you can purchase and take home with you then return when complete for firing. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy. They also have coffee and sweets you can order while you paint.....except during covid they dont allow anything to be consumed on-site. Capacity is also limited due to covid so recommend going close to opening on weekends as the get full kinda fast then you have to wait for people to leave before you can go in.

Called here multiple times to check to see if tables were open. Answer was always yes that they had 4-5 tables open. Drove directly there and tables were full each time. Tried making reservations and they won’t take them. Last time I walked in to be told that tables were full after I had called 20 min before so I left to let the family know and then went to walk back in to ask how long the wait would be and they locked the door in my face. I’ll never try to go here in the future.

My wife and mother-in-law loved this place and try to take everyone here, today it was their grandma. They werent aware of the new county mask mandate and was just verbally assaulted by the lady working there. Keep in mind they had a sign on the sidewalk saying masks werent required. Too much money spent here to be met with such a vile attitude. Make sure you wear a mask here or be treated as sub-human. No attempt was made to argue with this lady just get clarification but even speaking just seemed to apparently offend this woman.

Busy day with a parade, so I decided to go here versus my usual of Four Reasons. Bad choice.1. Coffee and cafe Mocha was distasteful.2. Total chaos in ordering, with lines mounting up at all sections of the lengthy bar.3. Only one person serving, then a second, who seemed to be the manager.4. Preferential treatment of some patrons while others were put off.5. No appearance of hurry or concerns, while polite personal conversations happened behind the bar.6. I thought I might improve the possibility of business success by nicely suggesting they hang a sign for an ordering spot and a Pay Here spot... I was rejected flatly with, its not needed, you can order anywhere. We will just call out whos nextAfter watching several people cut the line and others wondering where to go to order, I think it is a sign that this establishment wants to do what they want regardless of what their customers want.I wont be back. Had they had good coffee I may have given them another try, but the snarky attitude was hard to get past.

Theres a lot to love about this place but unfortunately coffee is not one of them. I got a pour over coffee because I love the fresh hands on approach but my pour over coffee was one of the worst Ive had in years. Their pour over maker is a antiquated model and little attention was given to the coffee as it was brewing. Pours arent hard, but it does require attention. Maybe the shop should look into less hands on and easier to use pour over Brewers like Kalita Wave. Its some of the cheapest coffee equipment you can buy, no reason to skimp out.It might be my fault for having too high of expectations but this place doesnt have the attention to detail that local coffee shops are typically known for. Its probably fine if youre getting coffee drowned in sugar and milk but really any coffee is gonna be fine when you do that.

I love Art and Clay...BUT, some of the staff is less than friendly and are often rude and down right mean. They Dont make you want to come back. However, the live entertainment on Fridays is free and good, the coffee shop has good stuff and the pottery wheels are usually open and are well maintained. They could use more variety in the pre made pieces available to glaze, but the classes are good. So, despite some unfriendly staff members we keep going back and, other than some hurt feelings due to the rude treatment from said staff members we always enjoy our time there. Some staff members are really nice and helpful and do make up for the not-so-nice one(s)...If you have been there Im sure you know who I am referring to...If you have not been there, dont let her keep you from hanging out at Art and Clay ..It really IS a fun place to go.

Overall, great customer service and coffee! Ive gone here for a good few years, and have never been disappointed! Until today, that is. Ive always gotten their Belgian Chocolate Frappe, which is my absolute favorite! Today, me and my younger sister wanted to get the frappes. We got there, ordered them, and waited. The customer behind of us ordered a mocha frappe. My sister noticed how long it was taking for the worker to get them done, which was no problem, we were in no rush. The girls coworker asked what she was making, and the girl said 3 mocha frappes. I was confused, but let it go. Maybe she said the wrong thing? After they were blended, it went into 3 cups, two for my sister and I, and one for the woman after us. Odd. We finally got the frappes, and before I tasted it, I asked if it was the Belgian. She said yes. I tasted it, and it was clearly mocha. I asked once again, and the girl stated that the two were made with the same powder. So, what, she made the womans mocha and just combined the frappes just to make it easier? I dont know, but Im extremely disappointed. 13 years old sister despises the taste of coffee, and Im not a fan of mocha fraps. There goes $8 down the drain and two fraps in the trash.

I was very excited to try a new ceramics place. Upon arriving, we were greeted and explained a very minimal process. We picked our pieces and had to guess what table we were being placed at. After choosing our pieces, we sat down and then waited because we werent told further directions. I figured out the next step and then we went to try and find our paints. They were a mess and had a hard time finding the majority of the ones I wanted. No explanation was given on the paints or anything we were supposed to do. The brushes at the table were filthy. They were stuffed with old, dried paint and after attempting to wash it out, it failed. Therefore, colors I wasnt using, were ending up on my painting. No one even checked upon us to see if we had any questions. Actually, we hardly saw the workers at all. We had no idea what to do once we were finished, so we went to check out. No bit of conversation was made, other than to tell us the total. I was not pleased at all.

The beverages were overpriced but I guess thats the price of Fufu.
