This place is a gem! Recently opened by a beautiful soul who is passionate about herbal medicine and local ingredients. A very cute themed coffee shop with healthy, natural foods and coffees. I enjoyed a dandelion dip that was surprisingly delicious and I read somewhere that dandelions are full of vitamin C, so that’s also a plus. Their coffee is great too.

The space is cool, the people are nice, but the food and coffee is a bit weird. Everything is very heavy, oily, and leaves you feeling weighed down. Obviously this is just my opinion from eating here multiple times and not everyone will have the same experience. Personally, I think whoever makes the food is overly eager with putting oil and aioli on just about everything on the menu, so it all tastes oily.

Delicious, healthy, local. Hemp milk coffee is tasty and a little different. Lots of mushroom inspired dishes but also stuff for mushroom haters. Check it out its all women owned and operated I believe right in the historic district of downtown Lancaster.

Cannot say enough good things about this place!!! Their connection to and appreciation for the earth is tangible. Their drinks are rich and the food is indulgent AND healthy. Not to mention everything is locally sourced. There is also a little shop for many herbal tonic & naturalistic health/wellness needs. I love coming here to study or just relax. The ambiance is always vibrant and positive. The presentation and style of the place is amazing too. Go to Blade & Spade, you won’t regret it!! You will only be blown away by the kind & knowledgable staff, the incredible & humble owner Alyssa, and the overall wonder of experiencing the unique place that Blade & Spade is.

Loved all the vegan options. Fungi flatbread was everything. Hemp pretzels with vegan cheese and dandelion pesto was amazing. Such a cute inviting space. The only thing I will say is that its kinda loud when theres lots of people talking loudly. Maybe its the high ceilings or vibrations coming off the windows. But otherwise its a peaceful place to relax, read or do some work.

This cafe always has the perfect drink and treat to brighten your day. Definitely try anything with the Reishi Vanilla 🤤 The staff is kind, not too pushy and knowledgable. The atmosphere is warm and magical. Thanks, Blade and Spade!

I absolutely loved their vibe!! I’m not sure if she was the owner or just someone working within the cafe, but the woman who introduced us to the menu and helped us with our choices was so great! She was very knowledgeable of the menu and super friendly. I got the drink special which was described as a cocoa/earthy type of non-caffeinated drink with their hemp milk and my boyfriend got their well-adapted drink. We loved them! Their hemp milk definitely gives a more earthy taste, but for more traditionally flavored drinks they have other options. This was our first visit and there will definitely be more!

Be sure to stop in, if only to admire the charm. But you should not leave without a taste of one of the many magical potions they’ve concocted. I recommended the dirty dandy with oat milk! If you see something you’d like to try on the menu, better try it as it is always changing! A great addition to our community here in Lancaster!

There are so many beautiful words to describe the experience of blade and spade. Healing, health, community, women-centric, comforting and so much more. The environment is welcoming and as soon as you walk in, you can lay down your worries and relax with drinks and food you can feel good about consuming. Fresh, local, small, farm to table ingredients mean you won’t feel like crud as you go about the rest of your day. And Alyssa makes some magic with her Sentient Sisterhood line of herbal medicines- so be sure to check those out and if you can, talk with her about what might support your personal health and healing. Her mugwort is part of my routine now and is so delicious! Truly a dream place and I can’t wait to get in there again ASAP!

Good coffee, tasty treats, and antique furniture, what more could you want? Blade & Spade has a whimsical forest atmosphere that makes you want to drop everything and find a vacant woodland dwelling to occupy. As I wandered around I fell in love with every little detail. Perhaps it was the ceramic mushroom set, the velvet furniture, or the relaxing Celtic music, but I wanted to stay all day.

In the words of my daughter “This is the only place I want to go.” Truly, this is a magical space with food, drinks, and provisions where the evidence of this being a passion project is so clearly felt and tasted! We absolutely adored everything we had on our recent visit. Everything was notable and not to be missed so it is hard to list all of the highlights. We left with a few provisions to play around with at home and can’t wait to come back for more.It is rare that we visit a restaurant or café anymore where we have loved EVERYTHING that we ordered. We always do at this spot and they are super attentive to our questions about our daughters allergies. Go visit and support local business!

Alyssa is a wonderful owner and creatress! all of the food on the menu is locally sourced and organic, you know exactly where everything came from! all of the drinks have very nourishing qualities, from different herbs to different mushrooms, you will feel healed after visiting this cafe for sure! The stuff is so friendly and Alyssa treats them great! supporting this local business helps to support a lot of other local businesses as well. 100% would recommend!

I really loved this place. The ambiance was great. My only setback was that I ordered a dish and the woman never charged me for it. I did not realize until my whole party got their food and I did not get mine. The woman at the counter said sorry and that was it.

Love this place. Very unique and eclectic. The drinks and food are really good. Glad there are gluten free options. Have had the sausage & cheddar frittata and GF brownie. For drinks I have had Moon Womb and Witches Brew...both really good. Will need to go back to try more options!

This is what I had hoped it would be, great atmosphere, friendly people, delicious food (vegan, gf, keto, and meat for the meat eaters), the vegan chowder and fungus flatbread made me happy. The witches brew tea was a delicious combination. On top of that the cafe was cute and cozy and had local products for sale, a cute alter of to the side and just good vibes all around. The food menu rotates every month so Im excited to see what comes next week.

Great new cafe in Lancaster! The rotating food menu always has unique creations that are perfectly executed. Also the drinks are delicious and come out at a perfect drinking temperature. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

You can tell each dish has great intention and consideration in sourcing ingredients locally, what the body and mind needs nutritionally and exceptional taste, texture and flavor. The beverages are interesting, fun, and the most delicious beverages around. Some of my favorites are the chaga chai, dirty dandy, and feed your head. The space is clearly influenced by nature and community. If you’re interested in holistic eating and drinking, and learning about what’s growing on around us, this is a place you’ll want to spend some time.

The atmosphere is amazing! It’s such a cozy spot to meet with others or enjoy some time to yourself. I ordered the “Into the Mystic” (The drink names alone make you want to try them all) and it was perfect. Can’t wait to go back and try something from their locally sourced rotating menu 💛

This cafe is A+++!! A beautiful interior, with a jaw dropping mural on the wall. All natural home and health products for sale that you can peruse while waiting for your adaptagen infused coffee, splashed with their homemade hemp mylk. You can tell from the cafe & food menus that these folk are here for both my health and my leisure. Leaps and bounds beyond your local Starbucks or traditional coffee shop. A great experience with delicious treats.

Beautiful local art is displayed throughout the cafe and on the walls. A bewitching apothecary along the wall adds a unique twist to a familiar homey feel of a cafe. Blade and Spade is definitely a spot in Lancaster we didn’t know we needed. Womxn owned, community focused, earth conscious, who could ask for more? Oh yeah! The menu is sublime, with mushroom infused beverages made with counter culture coffee and artisan food found nowhere else in lancaster. Ive had a number of different elixirs and food as well and everything has been so delicious! The Dandy is rich and sumptuous, and you can tell that everything is made with care and attention. The space itself is nothing short of magical, and there are lots of super comfortable different nooks where you can get cozy and stay for awhile!
