We have a trip to Cancun coming up. It will be the first time our girls, ages 8 & 12, will be going somewhere tropical so we wanted to get them masks and snorkels. We could not have asked for a better experience. First, the gentleman who helped us was fantastic (unfortunately I do not remember his name). He fitted the girls for masks & snorkels that will last them a long time. In other words, no kids masks - these will fit them as they grow! Then, he suggested not getting flippers because they will grow out of them too quickly. As we were checking out, another gentleman gave the girls shark teeth he had gotten while diving. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. If you are in the market for any scuba or snorkeling gear, I highly recommend this place. On a side note, they also fill paintball tanks. :)
We went here to get snorkling gear for our Disney Cruise Excursions. The people here were helpfully in helping the entire family get snorkling gear.
After 49 years of diving off and on (mostly Off), I decided to get back into the sport. I live in Philadelphia and am with probably a dozen dive shops within 45 minutes of me. I chose Lancaster Scuba Center (LSC) to take a drysuit course because they had the most convenient date and time that fit my schedule and boy am I glad I did. The instructor, Mark Babec is superlative and I would give him 10 stars if I could. After having been a high school and college athlete and competing in other sports on the national level, I have more injuries than I have fingers and that includes 2 recent knee operations. Mark, in both the pool and in open water has been the most understanding and patient teacher I have ever had in my life. His knowledge, understanding and patience is boundless. The shop is well stocked and staffed by knowledgeable and fun people who you can tell really love the sport. They are caring and very friendly, especially Sarah and Johnny. In a sport filled with giant egos and shops trying to just sell you stuff, these guys are a breath of fresh air. I drive over an hour out of my way to patronize this shop and I will continue to do so. And that includes air fills which I can get 15 minutes from my house. The filtration on their compressor system is the safest and most thorough I have ever seen. From the time I first walked in the shop I fell in love with the people and the selection of equipment. Their prices match the internet with great service to boot. LSC is my new go to for all my scuba needs. Stephen
The instructors are great. I was very nervous and even tried to bow out at one point. My instructor was very patient and understanding. She walked me through it at my own speed. Had a great time!
One of the best customer service experiences ever. I wanted snorkel equipment for travel, have bad eyesight, and know very little about the equipment. The staff were very understanding and met my needs and carefully explained my options. They were also able to place corrective lenses in one of the masks they recommended on the spot. I ended up paying less than I expected and less than I had been told at another shop. They gave my needs and concerns the same careful, professional consideration that I could see them affording the other more serious customers there buying trips, tanks, and complex equipment.
If I could give them zero I would. The owner and front desk staff are rude and disrespectful. Save yourself a nightmare and go to York Divers. They are awesome to deal with
My wife and I are going on a trip to the Bahamas and needed to purchase snorkeling gear. Found out about Lancaster Scuba Center at a local outdoor show and paid them a visit. Zach was very helpful with getting us fitted for a mask and flippers. They had a very well stocked showroom with a lot of options. Would definitely recommend paying them a visit instead of ordering online. Make sure you get the right stuff the first time.
This place is really cool and the people who work here know their stuff. They are extremely friendly and willing to help anyone with whatever kind of diving they want to pursue. My husband and i couldnt dive in cold water to finish our open water dives because we both become hypothermic easily, they are kindly working with us to pursue dry suit diving at the same time.
Great selection, great customer service. The young woman who helped me and my friend pick out flippers was knowledgeable and patient with us.
GREAT staff. Knowledgable, helpful, experienced. Interested in getting you the right gear for YOU, not this months special or the most expensive thing in the shop.We also took our Open Water Certification though Lancaster Scuba Center. It was GREAT. They worked with us and our ridiculous schedule to get us certified.Again, wonderful people; wonderful community.
You wont find a better group of people that love sharing their knowledge of diving, travel, and sealife. Lancaster scuba makes you feel like part of the family no matter what level diver or how often you dive. Learning to dive from Lancaster Scuba literally opened a whole new world for me to discover. I only wish I had more time to explore it.
We had no idea what we were doing, what we needed or even what questions to ask but the people who were beyond patient with us were extremely helpful and suited us up with everything we needed and nothing we didnt! Happy customers eager to return.
The friendliest experienced staff and Excellent customer service!! i will always come to Lancaster Scuba for the best advice and scuba experience hands down in Pa. also have a wide selection and updated scuba gear with great prices. family environment its hard to leave once youre in the store :)
This is hands down, the best and friendliest SCUBA shop Ive encountered in the area. John Walker is an honest and fair businessman and he will help you get what you need to dive safely.
Great shop. looking to use them for some classes and ordered new regulators for them. Excellent price. It was recommended to me, I would recommend them to others.
Great place to shop for all of your diving needs. awesome family owned business.
Just came back from a trip to Dominica. The LSC staff and other divers were very sweet and kind. We had one member lose the function of her regulator at 40 and the dive masters from LSC were immediately there and took her up safely and made sure she was safe on the boat. They always have extra gear and the ability to fix anything. I HIGHLY would recommend them to everyone. I cant wait for the next trip.
Great selection and great people. So nice to find a clean well stocked shop with knowledgeable people!
Edit; upper management contacted me and absolutley corrected the problem! I am sure there will be some trainingfor employees in the future. Thank you Zach.Send wrong item do nothimg to correct it.
Ive been a client for years and consider the Scuba Center a home. John and Gini Walker are passionate about Scuba Diving and their passion and enthusiasm is contagious! They treat all their clients/customers as family - one big scuba diving family. John will always make the time to talk to any divers - new or old, answer any questions, help anyone find what theyre looking for, and share his love of diving. All the staff at Lancaster Scuba Center are professionals. They maintain high standards of safety and have great teaching methods. The instructors are very patient and very calm. The shop has a little of everything and what it doesnt have, John or Gini will get for you if you need it. They hold a variety of trips - to warm clear water, or mud diving for buried treasures and shark teeth! If you want to do it under water, John and Gini can probably accommodate!
Great place for all your scuba and snorkeling needs excellent instructors high quality ownership
LSC is an outstanding place to learn about diving. My wife and I had the pleasure of learning to dive with some great people whose knowledge and experience was some of the best in the industry. We were especially impressed with Gary Sanderson who is an instructor of the highest caliber. While we were difficult students at times, he still took the time to help us master various skills necessary to become competent and capable divers. John Walker was yet another person who taught us advanced techniques and had a special and perhaps slightly better way of conveying complex information that could be easily understood. I would consider all the staff at LSC to be the best of the best! While we dont live very close to LSC, it was worth the trip for our initial training and anyone looking for a fun and exciting time of learning to dive had best consider this organization. They go beyond the book and beyond the basics and teach you to become real Scuba Divers!
I got my open water certification through LSC, and they were great when it came to the course and getting gear for certification dives. I bought some gear from an older gentleman getting out of scuba and took it in to get the regulator inspected and the batteries replaced in the two computers. When I dropped it off, I was told were a bit backed up but it shouldnt take more than a week by one individual, and told it shouldnt be more than two by another. Three weeks went by and hadnt gotten a call saying my gear was done, so I called them. I was told were backed up, but will give you a call when it is done. I called again at 4 weeks and was told the tech wasnt going to be back in until Tuesday but that they would get him working on it then. The following Friday rolls around and I show up, still not done.Edit: I posted this review with two stars originally, less than 20 minutes after posting, I received a phone call from the owner so he could personally apologize. They were finishing up my gear while we were on the phone and are not charging me for the service.
Their dive instructor’s are the best
Friendly people, an overall good place to go.
Great staff!
Been going here since I was younger (45 now) great shop and the people are the best I cant be in there for more then a half hour without learning something new the owners passion for the sport is infectious and will make you wanna learn more and dive more
