I hired Kingsley Glass to replace a broken glass wall in my shower. I thoroughly cleaned up all the broken tempered glass ahead of time, other than a few pieces stuck to the edges of the seal, and I took lots of pictures. When the installer finally came (a month later than their original estimate, but I paid for the glass up front and couldnt switch companies at that point), he ripped out the old seal, dropping the remaining pieces of glass onto the shower floor. He then walked around in the shower in his boots - on the broken glass - to install the new glass wall. When he left, I opened the door to the shower to find a handful of pieces of broken tempered glass on the floor, boot prints across the shower floor, large chunks of sealant stuck to the floor, and several holes in the floor from where he had stepped on broken glass and moved his feet, tearing up the floor. Photos of 2 of the 6 holes attached. The holes tore completely through the floor, and I could see the lining underneath - the shower was not usable in this condition. I got on my hands and knees and spent a half hour scraping off the sealant, which left the floor discolored. I took photos of the holes, called Kingsley, and asked to speak to the installer. He yelled at me on the phone when I described the issue, saying he didnt cause any damage, and hung up on me. I drove out to the office in an attempt to speak with his boss - upon arrival, I found out he was the owner. When I brought up the issues and said I wanted Kingsley to repair the floor, he began SCREAMING at me in the office. He was so into it that he literally spit all over my face. The poor receptionist witnessed the whole thing and looked as miserable as I felt. The owner insisted that he put a blanket on the floor and therefore did not cause any damage, and that I must be trying to scam him into giving me money. When I mentioned that the boot prints and sealant all over the floor meant that there wasnt a blanket down, he just about exploded. The whole time, he kept interrupting me and wouldnt let me finish a sentence before screaming at me again. He refused to cover a repair of floor. Later, the receptionist called, apologized for the owners behavior, and said that she could send a repairman out to give me an estimate of the repair, but that her boss would only contribute $100 towards the cost of the repairman. The repairman estimated ~$400 to repair the holes with material that wouldnt match the shower, and ~$1,000 to make the color in the rest of the shower match. Getting a new floor (which was attached to the walls) would have cost several thousand dollars. In the end, I determined that I could repair the holes myself for less than the $300 it would have cost me out-of-pocket ($400 repair - $100 credit). So I bought my own materials and repaired the floor myself. The patches are visible, which annoys me, but the upgraded repair was too expensive. I am 100% positive that Kingsley caused the damage, and they refused to acknowledge the evidence proving this. I was very calm and polite when I went into their office; the owner immediately began yelling at me when he saw me, refused to let me finish a sentence, and spit all over my face. He refused to take responsibility for his actions. Overall, TERRIBLE customer service. I do not recommend this company at all.
If you have a window or screen problem, Kingsley Glass is your best answer! When two of our windows went cloudy, I had a difficult time finding a glass company that would service our area (Cal City). While doing shopping down in Lancaster I chanced to run across their store. Best thing thats happened in a long time! The Kingsley people are very friendly and most helpful. They immediately sent a tech way out to Cal City to measure for replacement glass. In short order they had new glass installed and for a very reasonable price. While they were here installing the new glass I asked if they could order a pair of sliding screen doors for our large sliding glass doors to the patio. The builder of our house apparently never thought to get them originally. In an effort to get the correct screen doors for our glass doors, Kingsley contacted the manufacturer of the glass doors for our house. The manufacturer was very slow delivering a set of screen doors. When they arrived, they were the wrong size.Kingsley stayed after the manufacturer and weeks later a second set was sent. This set was the right size but did not include any locking mechanism. Kingsley went after the manufacturer again and weeks later a third set was sent. Finally, the screen doors were right.Through months of effort, Kingsley Glass and their tech Mike made sure they gave us the product we were expecting in spite of problems not of their making. We are so grateful to Kingsley Glass and Mike. They are the best!
You were so helpful not only knowledgeable they knew their stuff pictures of receptionist is a 1
I dont normally rate companies but Kingsley Glass Company has great customer service, fast service, and affordable pricing. I will definitely recommend.
Great location for do-it-yourself people
Wow these people are incredibly helpful, kind and super reasonable. I broke my fireplace door for wood burning insert. Another company would not help and told me I was looking at a very costly repair. Everyone at Kingsley was the opposite they rushed a new piece of specialty glass for several hundred less than the others. Top notch people that model how a business should be run. I can’t express enough gratitude!
Great service!
VERY knowledgeable, helpful & friendly, too.We had to take in a frame from a glass slider, as our tenant busted out a 46+ year old window. We asked for estimates on replacing the glass using the old frame, and replacing it all.The one lady there knew of the old brands/parts needed. Unfortunately, some parts are no longer made, so we may need to go to a brand new one one.Nonetheless, they were up front, honest and not pushy. Told them I would be getting other estimates, and they had no qualms are all!
Our front window broke by our door ... but it didn’t actually break until a tech from Kingsley’s came and broke it while measuring. Cool I understand. But I told them they had to come back to take off the rest of the glass on the window... and Clean it up on the porch. They never came to clean it!! And we have a big dog and 5 year old. It was a safety hazard and they did nothing until 2 weeks later when they installed it. After installation .... still some glass on our porch!! I’ll never use this company again
Longtime owners of this busisness. Are just wonderful people..
I have used Kingsley Glass Co. twice, both times I received good service, work done well, in a timely manner, price seemed reasonable. I will continue to use them and refer them.
Awesome place very friendly i can see why they have been in the valley for so long
How many times does a customer need to call asking for the same quote? Apparently 3 times over a period of aweek and a half! I know several business owners with similar complaints about Kingsley. procrastinating, constantly changing dates, and a few employees were very snappy, as if I were inconveniencing them with my business. Two thums ddown. Brush up on running a business in 2018.
$67 more expensive than Glass and Plstics! What is the matter with thrm?
