Very helpful. I brought my guitar in to get a truss rod adjustment but the tech was out. Not a problem. The manager knew how to do it and solved the problem. They have a large selection of instruments and know what they are doing.
I’ve lived near Lancaster close to 3 years and going to this guitar center has never been that pleasant. Always takes forever to check out for the smallest things, and for some reason it takes 3 associates to ring someone up. It’s a constant barrage of new employees who never stay long enough to really learn much. Store manger is kind of off putting and not very personable. I bought a $500 guitar 6 months ago and wanted to trade it in and they offered me $180. Save your money, go to the mom and pops because these stores do not care about customer experience.
Great experience! Helpful employees that know what theyre talking about and were able to hook me up with a great midi keyboard thats compatible my computer. Time to make some music!
Was great. Jammed out with some random people, fun
Great service... And things are easy to find
Very helpful associates matched us up with great beginners instrument. LH Guitar
Has been an empty store the past year or so. Staff seems to be braindead. Feel like Im in a furniture store. Went to test out amps, barley any selection of guitars to use. Had amp up to in store radio volume and was asked to turn it down abruptly by a staff member. Asked for a guitar cable, got looked at by staff like I asked them if aliens existed (judging by the staff there of sensitive young kids, I imagine they would talk all day about aliens). After becoming frustrated by the fact that I couldnt even hear myself in a store called GUITAR CENTER, I chose to leave abruptly. Never setting foot in a guitar center. Support local stores at this point guys. Isnt like the metropolis you thought it was. Staff just talks to each other all day.
Have never had a terrible experience at the store in general. But I do have a conspiracy theory that they like to advertise that they have certain guitars or effects pedals/stomp boxes or sound amplification accessories that they dont actually have in stock to get you to look through their entire inventory just to see that they dont have and eventually just settle for something they do have in stock. I believe they do this just to make a sale no matter what.
Good customer service, limited selection but I cant fault the workers for that. Their military discount is what got me....I was told it was 10% and then during checkout a caveat was added that it was 10% off the most expensive item. Again, it was not the workers fault and I am not blaming them. I just know from now on I will buy one item at a time.
As of lately service and overall vibe has gone down tremendously. it took me 30-40 minutes to do a simple checkout. I originaly bought a what they labled as new Jackson but it had some small finish cracks by the neck which is common but not on a product labled as new also had minimal buckle rash it was a $400 guitar. They proceeded to tell me what I already know that its a finish Crack and I shouldnt be upset. but come on that on a new instrument is not ok. Went back exchanged and upgraded to a spotless schecter 500$ they realized I was spending more money and they had no hesitance after that. After my past few purchases. I will be going elsewhere for my instrument purchases. also inventory is very disappointing
Nice staff that welcomes you when you come through door. Considering Covid they have a pretty decent stock.
Great store and staff. Went in this afternoon to buy a digital piano on a budget, and Jay was very helpful and showed/demonstrated the keyboards and price ranges they had in stock. I wound up buying the Casio WK 6600, an excellent entry level keyboard. Very happy with the experience and the instrument. Thanks again, Jay!
This place is a wonderful place to visit/purchase things at! Great manager/staff/help with both my guitar and my keyboard! Super impressed with there knowledge of the products they sell. Very happy with my service! Definitely will be back and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!
Someone asked if they could help us, I asked for the item I wanted, he said they didnt have it and could order it. Said he would look it up, he proceeded to walk away and not come back. Ended up finding the item I wanted IN STOCK by myself.
Always there to provide a helpful suggestion. The staff is always friendly and is made up of local musicians.
Have to say this location has gone down hill lately. Very few items on display to look at. To top it, I went for a speaker stand, same stand 2 price signs. The sign with the later date was cheaper by $10 yet that price was not honored. I have better things to do than to argue over $10 but it not right to not honor the lower price. Dont waste your time to go there and brouse, nothing to look at. Dont go there looking for deals, there arent any.
Friendly staff. Was disappointed they didnt have any Martin acoustics
Staff is very knowledgeable and easy to work with if they dont have something in their particular store they will go and find what you need in both new and used gear
Knowledgeable staff and pleasant atmosphere. Recommended.
Decent selection of musical equipment with guitars, drums, keyboards, DJ equipment, sheet music, and accessories.
A grateful testimonial and a shout out to Adam. 3/2 An hour before closing Im greeted by the manager just after I walk in. I explain the reason for my visit. I said strings for a tenor uke and information from both drums and elect. sound department. He quickly grabbed the strings and put the one I needed on my instrument on the spot. Very cool, Im new to it and this is the first string being replaced so its was a relief to have it done properly and quickly. I head towards the keyboards and microphones and Adam approaches me offering assistance (not knowing im a difficult customer with a lot of questions he was inviting to talk to) Adam thank you. What YOU KNOW about the product saved me time and help me buy what I needed for the sound and function I wanted. You knew when to cut my train of thought and not search down the wrong paths to what I was describing. You come off kinda blunt but its reassuring when you need it. Same thing happened when I bought my AAX hats from you about 10 months ago because they werent what I was originally coming in for but you were right then and Im so happy I got them. So nice job again. I appreciate you and your team.
It seems they are running out of instruments, and not ordering or refurbishing their inventory. They definitely need good guitar techs who are motivated .I called 3 times in 2 weeks, only to be told some bolony story that the tech Zackhasnt gotten to my Ibanez,yet,.....and the guy on the fone actually said he needs a push. They were quick to rent me a Tailor the first weekend, since I was playing in our Praise and Worship team next day Sunday!I am gonna see how long the tech will take, to complete it and how much I will be charged.I definitely would go elsewhere next time.
Awesome sauce of sn experience. Very knowledgeable and helpful
Great service and the gentleman was very patient with me and helpful with picking out a guitar.
Jay was very helpful and friendly, even called back after hours. Thanks Jay!
No help from the sales agents. Cheap guitars on the wall for a heafty price. No Gibsons mid grad amplifiers. Vince Neil would definitely run out of this store for sure. A true nightmare for a guitar center!
I went to.look at used cymbals for my drum kit and I wasnt disappointed. Great prices on their new and used drum equipment. The staff was great as well. Highly recommend this place.
BIG Thank you to Adam & his crew at Lancaster Guitar Center. Once again, they continue to impress me with their responsiveness to my concerns. I was treated like I really mattered. I have been purchasing my audio equipment from GC for years. No matter what the problem, GC took care of ME and my equipment. I highly recommend this store. I will continue to do business with ADAM and GC.
Great with renting out PA systems and the service was very nice and helpful! They certainly helped me getting into the army school of music so I really appreciate you guys!
Nice financing options. Weve bought lots of stuff here over the years and never had any issues. Its nice to go in the acoustic room and play super expensive guitars. Great staff.
Solid selection of guitars and gear and consistent staff.
Had cables I needed.
I like looking for used equipment.
New floor team seems pretty helpful. Really glad they finally got a tech in there as well. Traded in some gear for a new amp and got some decent prices, but Id recommend selling privately if youre looking for actual value for your trade.
Always a cool place to go. They let you play any instrument in the store. Lots of good deals. The staff is always courteous and helpful.
Probably the worst retail store (of any kind) that I have visited in the past 20 years! The “sales people” stood around talking to each other, stocking shelves, or just staring into space while customers were left to find items they needed. I finally found someone who appeared to be conscious- I asked him if he worked there. I was surprised when he said “yes”. I asked for help in the book section- he showed me where they were, but had little more to offer. I asked about a gig bag - he showed me where they were. I finally found the one I wanted by myself. I asked about picks- he pointed to a shelf and said “ they’re over there”.The store itself was a mess! Piles of “stuff” on the floor, packing materials scattered around, total disorganization! No one greeted me at the door and no one asked if they could help me find what I wanted. So, I went from Wilmington, DE to Lancaster, PA to shop at the Guitar Center there. A totally different experience! Great staff - helpful, knowledgeable, willing to spend time with you, and anxious to see you leave as a happy customer. It’s worth the extra time and PA sales tax to have a pleasant shopping experience. I will never return to the Wilmington store!
Fun place but cant say Id ever buy a guitar here, most everything on the floor is poorly cared for, terribly set up (lots of fret buzz on some guitars I played), and just a bit beat. And its a shame because I am on the hunt for a new guitar and may have purchased one had the stuff been better cared for! Most other guitar centers Ive been in arent as bad as this one.
Jay was extremely helpful and very courteous! He knew exactly which guitars to recommend based on my son’s playing style. Very pleased with the service!
My favorite place to SHOP MUSIC!!
Not very friendly if you don’t wear a mask, but they they have some nice instruments.
This is my go to store for all things music. The guys at this GC know their stuff because they’re all musicians themselves and will treat you courteously and professionally. Love to just walk in, make purchases and then talk shop.
Excellent service. Helped me find the gear I was looking for while only going off of a few keywords from me.
I love this place, there is so much room to test instruments and you also aren’t watched, this place is great for upcoming artists to get equipment and even to get an instrument! Overall I was extremely satisfied with my visit and will definitely go back!
Lancaster, PA store is a really cool place. The staff is awesome and very helpful. The prices are on the higher end of fair, but the staff are a wealth of info and know their stuff.
1st, let me say, I almost NEVER write bad reviews but..... Horrible experience! Ordered a lesson book online for my son. Thought it would be a quick stop for pick up. I was wrong! There was no organization and the manager was paged at least 3 times but never came. After about 20 minutes of waiting at the counter, a man came up to ask me if I needed help, I told him what I was there for but instead of helping me or saying anything, he walked away and started helping someone else! I finally was able to grab another associate who finally got me my order. Will never order to this location again!
Id say about 95% of the reason you go to Guitar Center is to play guitars you could never afford. Sure you might buy some strings or a chord book, but even then youre really just going because you wanna play that 900 series Taylor, or Martin D-28. So it was understandably disappointing when I went in to this Guitar Center to buy strings, but really to play some absurdly expensive instruments, and found that all the good stuff is either locked or put up too high to be able to reach it. What was the whole appeal of the place is pretty much gone in one fell swoop. At this point its either go to a local store, or just buy it online.
A pretty awesome experience. We spoke with Dan who seemed very knowledgeable on guitars, which is what we were looking at. He didnt try to push anything on us, and answered our questions. He even answered questions we hadnt thought about.Just like their mission statement says, they want you to explore what music means to you.Their inventory is extensive and fairly priced.
Went for some strings and picks, ended up hanging out for over an hour. They have so much to see and what a nice selection. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
Best customer service and big variety of guitars amazing store
2-year repair warranty on a new mandolin purchased a few months ago. Got nut adjustment done for free. Great place to shop for musical instruments and they now do lessons as well.
Have definitely changed since bankruptcy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good selection of used and new equipment. Prices have dropped significantly since then. Before you couldnt find anything under 100$. But they have much more reasonable prices.
One awesome place. Whether you are just getting started. Or a music professional. Great selection of guitars, drums, violins, speakers, mixing boards, amps, and accessories. Also have a used section, and offer guitar repair. Beware really busy on Saturdays. Figure plenty of time.
They had what I wanted, and got it off the wall... But I do not look like the avg employee, so they seemed scared to talk or ask more than what they must say. Did not feel welcome at all, but thankfully I knew what I wanted, and was then ignored as I showed my 7 year old around.
Just got into drums and needed some help finding what was right for me. They have good employees that answer any questions and help you find what you need
Pretty decent place with some good people. I was quoted a certain price for a trade in, but then another guy came and changed the price amount (only $5 lower though). But the guy that helped me out (Conner) was a pretty solid dude. Thanks!
Used to have more and more diverse products...
For the most part Ive always been happy with the service at this particular guitar center, but I went in today and the person who cashed me out was about as unpleasant employee Ive encountered here. Maybe some better train ing in dealing with customers would benefit this store. What gives with the new isolation booths? Im glad lessons are given, but these new booths are taking up valuable space and the store now lacks any FLOW
I was treated with the most repect !!! I will definitely be back again very soon ... if you have any used gear for sale Guitar Center is one of the BEST place to go.
I love going to this place my son takes guitar and drum practice. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Very clean place.
My husband and I love coming to this place. I’m a long time uke player and Jay hooked me up with a strap to hang my uke up on my wall. Great place with a great experience!
Stopped in yesterday to trade in a used piece of equipment. Huge shoutout to Nick and Able. Very courteous and professional individuals as soon as I walked in the door. They didnt lowball me at all with what I was trading in, and in fact, they went out of their way to make sure what they offered was fair, which it was. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend.
Guitars, drums, mics, pianos and more! Great place! Friendly helpful staff!
Employee helped me fast.
Im not particularly crazy about the Lancaster location, but the staff are super friendly, courteous, but most importantly.... knowledgeable!
The staff was very informative and willing to help me make a good choice
Great place, bought 2 guitars, and a bunch of other things over the past couple of years. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and great prices too. My go to music store!
Bought a Fender acoustic guitar here 9 years ago. It was reasonable and a great experience. A fun place to go spend some quality time with musical instruments.
Has every musical item you could ever want but I couldnt give 5 stars due it taking 20 min to check out to buy guitar picks because they were busy taking other peoples contracts for items.
This place have good equipment and sales personnel helps alot really good price
Very helpful Crew.
Great experience! Insanely knowledgeable staff and friendly! Great in store offers such as music and vocal lessons. Wonderful place for pros and amateurs!
Good service
Their staff is very accommodating, even when they are extremely busy. We had to return a set of wireless microphones three different times. None of it was their fault at all. Lane the manager was very accommodating, and Christian the pro audio man really knew what he was talking about.
If You Know Music and Love the Art, This Place is Serious The #1 Place. If not the Only Place to go.
Not the most knowledgeable of people that work there, but yes there are a few. I ended up answering my own questions when looking at certain devices and cords. The workers acted clueless. If you know what you need go grab it there but 99% of the time its better to order online for cheap unless your the type who likes to walk into stores and mess with peoples intelligence on products lol.
Very knowledgeable staff. Very friendly staff. Very helpful staff. I get butterflies every time I walk into Guitar Center. I love this place!
Great music store. Definitely worth a look
Abe was very helpful and explained the guitars I was looking at clearly so that I felt more comfortable with my purchasing decision. Thank you!!
Employees are amazing and helpful. For any musician or person interested in starting to play.. stringed or otherwise. Nice.
Great store with a friendly staff. I needed a special mic for my gopro, they didnt have it but ordered one for me. Very cool store
The employees were very nice me and my grandfather
Very awesome place. The employees are kind and willing to help you if need be.
Love to stop in occasionally and just browse. Fine selection of string instruments, amps, speakers, mics, drums, keyboards and all the accessories.
Found 2 awesome used cymbals at Guitar center. Love going there.
One of the tuning knobs snapped flush they offered to put an original back on to it if they ordered it or a spare that they had for a lot cheaper 14 bucks I took the spare for character!! super happy!!!
The people were great. The drum guy was helpful and I got a few things. Keep up the good work.
Great staff. Not pushy at all. Very helpful
If I need instrument related items quick, this location is convenient
Awesome friendly staff, great selection of instruments for a great price
Helpful and attentive staff.
I leave my Guitar for repair, after 10 days waiting, they did not call me, I came back to see why they did not call me, and guess what? They made me wait for 30 minutes just to tell me that they did not know that my guitar was there, so they did not fix it.... Im so disappointed about this place.. NOT RECOMMENDED ..
Good selection of music gear 🥁🎸
Good selection and helpful staff.
Got a Box Drum for a Christmas present for my grandson. Salesman was Very Courteous and Helpful! This was my first time at the store.
