This shop was such an amazing surprise to stumble upon during a road trip through Lander. It has all the best items within pretty much any category you desire. Think REI, but less options because theyve already curated the best things for you. Ended buying way more than I intended and might go back this week to look through their clothes even more!

All things climbing, hiking and biking are represented here. Plus they have a small but well stocked lingerie section in the back. Ask for Madame Vickie. She will take care of you.

I didn’t realize when the store closed, and was there 10-15 minutes after closing. The two guys working were so nice and stayed late. They were very kind and helpful and said they will help me pick out the right climbing shoes next time I come. There’s nothing like small town kindness. Also, the recent 50% off sale was AMAZING. Love this shop and how they welcome everyone.

This is our 4th summer coming to Lander, and we make it a point to stop in Wild Iris every time. Ok, several times every trip 😉 Theyve got a great selection of gear and clothing and yeah, some may be on the expensive side but its high quality. I feel its worth it tho, bc the staff are always above & beyond helpful. Not pushy, just willing to stand there and answer all your questions. Were happy to support this lovely, local shop! 💜

Awesome selection of gear and a huge resource for all things climbing! This place is a MUST VISIT if you are anywhere near Lander WY and its even worth it as a destination! We love these guys (and ladies)! If you are within 100 miles of Lander, stop in and get the gear you need. We did!

I needed to pick up some last minute camping supplies and boy was I pleasantly surprised by Wild Iriss exquisite selection of gear. But what stuck out mostly was the customer service! Jake and Joan both assisted me in finding exactly what I was looking for. I also felt like Wild Iris is putting in the time and energy to ensure all customers feel safe while shopping there! 10 outta 10 would recommend!

This store is way overpriced. The staff is rude and followed me around as though I was a shoplifter. Don’t be a person of color and think you will be treated with respect in this establishment.

Every staff member here was helpful in a unique way; they compliment each other very well! All of our Wind River alpine questions were answered thoroughly and worries put to rest regarding water treatment, safe insect repellent, climbing gear, you name it. My boyfriend and I were so thankful to be able to get everything for our trip squared away at one friendly place. I felt like we were talking amongst friends. So happy to give a business like this our support. Days later, I called in to order a tension board that is back ordered for weeks on the original website and the staff was once again friendly and helpful as can be. I so appreciate the care! We will absolutely be back!

The gentleman informed us a lot about fishing in the area we bought our fishing license they had a huge variety of things in their store. Everyone was very friendly.

Great staff who went above and beyond to help me. I got there right at closing time and was desperate. I came in from out of town and hadnt had time to get some new hiking boots after destroying my vasques the week before. I had a field trip for work the next day and all I had was some walking shoes which I blew the toe out earlier that day. The staff saw my desperate situation and stayed a half hour after. I never felt rushed out the door. They were genuinely trying to help. I have very small feet and they didnt have my usual size so they dug around the back and brought out the smallest sizes they had. We finally found a pair that worked. They really saved me that day! They are also very reasonably priced. The boots I got were cheaper at wild iris than they were on Amazon!

Wild Iris is the local high end climbing - hiking - camping store, the kind where you can buy super cute, super expensive, highly functional stuff. Its the quintessential polar opposite of the Walmart camping department. Theres a good selection and the folks are friendly and helpful. Theres a small consignment (used gear) section.

Very knowledgeable staff. They were able to offer in depth info on planning backpacking trips. They have all the maps necessary and were able to point me right to their places deep in the mountains. They have really well done climbing guidebooks and were able to tell me how to get to the crags. Their gear selection was astounding! Everyting from compasses to sleeping pads, to belay devices. Their clothing selection is on point, too! Patagonia, Prana, Mountain Hardware, Royal Robins, Smartwool and much more!

I stopped in to stretch my legs while driving from Idaho to Colorado. I wasnt looking for anything specific, but I found a few cool notecards and neat stickers. The staff was friendly and reasonably attentive. If I had been in the market for new outdoor gear, this shop seemed to stock a good collection of apparel, footwear, and hardgood brands.Parking in front of the store is very limited, and Im not sure if theres more around back, or if street parking is the only alternative. If there hadnt been an available spot out front, I probably would not have stopped, tbh.

EXCELLENT customer service! Visited Wild Iris in January for a few neccesities (and found some cool other stuff as well)... 6 months later we ran into an issue with one of the manufacturers honoring a warranty. Wild Iris went above and beyond to quickly get us the informatation we needed to obtain the neccesary repair. Will be a Wild Iris customer every time I am in Lander. Second only to the climbing area theyre named after. Water out front, and Wi-fi available for itinerant climbers. They even have printed out beta-sheets for climbers that include where to get wifi, coffee, water, camping, groceries etc in town. I was blown away when we walked in an sheepishly asked for water and wi-fi information, only to be handed a front and back sheet. Solid service and decent prices for a brick & mortar climbing store too.
