We came across some other more popular older companies that def charge about 20% more. But in the end we chose this one. We got a deal online from their website that got us the bikes for $22.4 per day. Very good deal. The bikes are average quality but seem to be well-maintained. The guy was very helpful. The price was reasonable. Overall we loved it. So dont worry whether the lower price suggests worse services or inferior quality. Unless u look for some professional, performance bikes, this is the place u looking for.

Workers were very friendly and rules were easy to abide by. Employees helped you put in and come off the water. Life jackets were provided for the adventure and I thought the price was very reasonable. Great company to have access too in the middle of the city!

Staff is super friendly. My friend and I kayaked Fidelity Lake for ~2 hours and 45 mins and were only charged for an hour. We will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful accommodating staff! We made last minutes plans on a holiday to go kayaking and they still had opening for us. My favorite kayaking path so far is the Tecumseh route. Its nice to see the hidden beauty in Lansing. Dogs are allowed too 😁

Just used the boat launch but if I ever wanted to take company and go other places this would be a good option. Nice people..

I really recommend the bowls too.The place is clean and thats a hard thing to accomplish with the amount of traffic at lunch time.They are just too small for the amount of clients they have which is not really a problem for them 😆

Great place to spend some peace and quiet time to gsther your thoughts, reflect on nature, spend time with a loved one or loved one(s). Altogether the experience was great. The owner was nice, kept good conversation, prepared us for things and signs to look for and expect while on the water. The employees are friendly and up best. The river is bustling with wildlife and the occasional passerby. Overall experience was wonderful.

By far the best place to paddle around mid-Michigan! Excellent staff! Everyone was super helpful. They also do trips on other parts of the rivers in the area. I would recommend them to anyone.

We had a really great experience here! The staff is phenomenal, really just super friendly and helpful people who want you to have a good experience. The river was wide and clean and it was a beautiful trip! We came in from Jackson and we will for sure make the trip again soon!

Ive never had a bad time here. I once got missed for a pick up at the end of a trip. They had a group run them late and they missed me. They picked us up where we were and compensated us for their mistake. It was an honest mistake, I wasnt even close to mad about it or anything, I understood. They have us vouchers for discounted trip, without even asking. Great and honest people. The trips varied in length, but for an afternoon the Potter park trip is fantastic. Kayaks are always in good condition. Would recommend to everyone.

Was a great experience from beginning to end. When I called each time (2) the staff werw very helpful. They were just as nice and helpful in person . We took their shuttle down by the zoo to start our trip. Along the river we were able to various types of wildlife and as it is spring we saw lots of wildlife babies. For my first time kayaking in 20 yrs I could not have asked for more. Will definitely be renting from River Town Adventures again!

We rented kayaks to watch the fireworks on the river in Downtown Lansing. As soon as we got to the park to launch off the guides were all very friendly and excited. You picked your kayak and off you went. I liked that we didnt have to stay as a group and go my own pace. Had a blast on the river, the fireworks were amazing. Everyone ended up watching them around each other. The paddle back was long though. I wish there was an option to dock at the market on the way back. Overall though was a great experience and the owners were very nice :)

We had never been in a kayak before. The people were super helpful and gave us great advice. The river was wide and we didnt even run into anything. If youve never done anything like this before, Id recommend starting here. It was great.

Paul, Nate and their staff will do everything in their power to make sure you have an incredible time. You dont even have to rent one of their boats If you have your own they will shuttle it for a very reasonable price, especially if you are with a group that rents as well.

Had a kayak trip planned with our own boat for myself and 3 children spoke w/ a woman over the phone and was put on hold for approx 5 min. She returned to the call stated it would be $20 to rent 4 vests for the day i had planned and they have plenty, i asked if i need to reserve them she said not a problem we have plenty you will be all set. called on the day of the trip and was put on hold again, when the woman on the phone returned she explained to me no they are all being used. Thanks had this trip planned for over 2 weeks, and could have had those reserved. would have been the first kayak trip for my children. You score 0-stars if i was able because your staff is inadequately informed, you mis inform your customers, and now my kids are sad. I would love to stick a kayak where your sun don’t shine. Happy 4th of July. Thanks

A bit unorganized the day we went but we had a great time.

Super affordable prices - and a ton of different drop off / pickup locations. I should also mention that the Grand River and the Red Cedar (by MSU) are super under rated rivers. MSU students, do yourself a favor... grab a few brews and some friends and take a nice paddle. Youll definitely come back. Would highly recommend doing the route the begins past the dam down to Wavery rd. The red cedar is great, too.They have pretty basic kayak rentals, but theyre comfortable and have dry storage. After a few trips I ended up buying my own. Paul and Nate, the owners, are super chill dudes, too. Highly recommended.

Friendly, funny, informative, and chill service. The gear is typical rental stuff, so durable and nothing special, but it is comfy enough for a few hours on the float around the Grand and Red Cedar.
