Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks! The store was really clean when I went there! I was greeted with a smile and asked how he could help me. He walked me to what I needed and asked if he could help with anything else. GREAT PLACE!! I was even surprised to see the hardware store sells cookware!(Side note: I did buy a bag of cherry sours. Didnt taste like cherry or sour. If you like the candy, you know what Im talking about. Some places can make them great. Whatever company this was failed.)

I really love Ace hardware. Theyre always friendly, and theyre knowledgeable. They can always tell me something about whatever Im unsure of. Theyre not the cheapest. But, you dont have the lines like at the bigger places. Also, I dont think they carry cheap products. Ive had really good luck with their tools, and everything.

I love checking out Ace hardwares because theyre different from store to store they might be a little bit pricey compared to say a home Depot but they have things in there that nobody else stocks you get options at Ace for sure.

Helpful polite Staff. Knowledgeable with helping me find what I needed. Clean, organized store. Looks like there were some good deals on the tools and nessesities for the upcoming season and bargains on items to move for this one. I love the interesting finds they have to make a home uniquely yours inside and especially out. They have a bit of a high end price on home improvement things in my opinion compared to larger hardware stores in our area. But, convient locations and easy access stores, you expect to pay for that always. I do miss ACO though.

Cool home/project/DIY improvement place located right inside the Frandor center on Lansings Eastside. Have a decent variety of stuff. Prices are defintely a bit higher then say a Menards etc. But no real other place like this in the area.

I called today to ask about a key fob and the guy was being rude about it. I was being nice and just asked him if they had the certain key fob and his customer service was 👎🏼Go to the keyless shop in frandor by liberty coin. The guy was super cool and you don’t need an appointment like you do at ace! They will get you in and out for a whole lot cheaper.

Convenient little hardware store that happens to be just a couple blocks from my house. Usually has exactly what I need. It’s Ace so you’re paying for convenience of not having to drive to the big orange store. Consistently double the price of the big box places but sometimes it’s worth it to save time on small projects.

I love having a hardware store closer to home. Its great for quick trips. Of course you have to brave Frandor to go there, but thats a different story. Today I stopped in for a quick purchase. They had one register and a very long line of folks waiting to checkout. When someone asked the lady at the paint desk about having only one register open with such a long line she said they only had one working register. She lied because shortly after another employee opened a second register allowing the line to move at a better pace. Thank you for the employees who dont lie and actually care.

The best little local hardware store. Can be a little cluttered with product but they dont move things around too often inside. Great holiday sales every year.

A typical cookie cutter Ace hardware. more landscaping & paint, house ware goods, than actual hardware goods.

Staff is always super helpful and very knowledgeable. If you need something to fix something home depot might have it and you can spend a few hours there to end up with the wrong item or you can go here and get what you need and get back to your diy day

Person to help with paint didnt seem very knowledgeable. Wasnt pleasant either. Cashier told me all of my rewards were used. It was a large purchase so I was grateful theyd all gone through .However when I got home I saw differently. I am Disappointed.

RUDE ARROGANT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!This place used to be a nice place to shop, but not any more!I was looking for a non-zinc wood screw. I informed the male employee I needed a wood screw that was zinc free and this employee with attitude told me that stainless steel wood screws DO NOT have zinc! Well they DO HAVE ZINC, that is what makes them rust resistant and shiny silver! He acted like I didnt know what I (as a lowly female) didnt know what I was talking about. The front counter person was also rude and not very professional in how she dealt with customers.

I went in to buy a garden hose.An employee asked if I needed help, and showed me where to find them. They had just what I needed, and were friendly and helpful.

I use to live near here about 10+ years ago and at the time this was an Aco Hardware. Great Lakes Ace was a noticeable improvement over the Aco Hardware it replaced. When walking in the door I was instantly drawn to the display of Stihl outdoor power equipment. The quantity and variety of stock on the shelves has been improved throughout the store. The staff members were helpful and very courteous as well.

I’ve literally purchased over a thousand dollars worth of tools from this ace and what I’ve ordered online and picked up here in just the last 2 weeks. I had an issue with a saw I purchased, it was within the 30 day “money back guarantee” period, and they refuse to give my money back. Even after calling corporate, I was only offered store credit. Thanks for ruining the great relationship I’ve had with Ace for the last 40 years.

Small town charm in a midsize city. Not too many places cut car key any more. I try to get a car key cut at the big box hardware store and they wont do it. I have been using this store for most of my hardware and home improvement needs, from lawn care to paints and outdoor sealers. I have been a regular customer for nearly six years, and I cannot adequately express just how helpful the staff have been at this Frandor store.It is difficult for me to just pick out one particular staff, because they have all been super-friendly, helpful and caring, listening carefully to my needs. One manager I have had great results with is a guy named Brian. I have had some challenging paint problems, especially in paint-matching and with problem areas requiring specialty products to meet my needs. Brian has ALWAYS come through for me, and his ability to meet my challenges has always produced excellent results. This is a great little hardware store. I try to go there whenever I need something. They have a pretty decent selection for being a smaller store compared to a big box home improvement center. More importantly, I have found the staff to be very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Store is always in good shape and things are where they belong. If youre in need of hardware, tools, or other things similar to these, give them a visit.

This place has great people and a small town atmosphere right in between Lansing and East Lansing

They are a excellent store with a large variety of hardware and even unusual delicious food. They carry several items in the same category but they are priced from lower prices but some which aremore expensive but at a fair price.I live 10 miles from the store but its worth the drive. I reccomend them to family and friends.

I just wanted to express my great disappointment with my experience ordering from you. I needed a silicone drain tube for a new tankless water heater I installed at my house. There were no hardware stores within an hour of me that had this in stock so I decided I would order to the store and pick it up. The Great Lakes Ace in Lansing Michigan estimated to have it shipped 4 days sooner than anyone else….sweet so I ordered it even though it is a 30 minute drive from my house, I wanted this water heater functioning. It was supposed to arrive Monday the 8th so when I got an e-mail today at 3 (the friday before the estimated monday delivery) I was pumped. After my 30 minute drive to great lakes ace the person told me that it had already been processed and picked up….i was confused given I literally had just gotten the e-mail 1 hour before…. He was apologetic but couldn’t explain to me what had happened and said that he could order me a new one to be delivered in again. Believe it or not that is not what I’ll be doing now I have to wait another week to have it ordered from someone more reliable.

Love a neighborhood hardware except for the high schoolers that are behind the counter

I strongly prefer a neighborhood hardware store over big box builder supply. Ace Frandor has everything, staff are helpful pros and are easy to find in the store. On top of all this excellence, they have cool stuff you would not expect. Todays find: A fleece skully hat that has little lights in the brim. Super cool!

Hadnt been there in a few years. Was pleasantly surprised to see it had changed for the better. They have much more (better) inventory and I love that they have Benjamin Moore paint now. I will definitely return for further hardware needs.

This is the best East Lansing hardware. Well organised, with a selection of lawn and garden that rivals its urban location.

This is the closest hardware store to my house and is convenient for quick odds and ends for projects.the selection can be lacking for more involved odd things, but generally I find what I need. Prices can be high but its convenient. The only thing I wouldnt recommend is getting paint there, I have had issues with colors not coming out right several times.

Excellent place for grab and go, much easier than the big box stores

A couple of days ago I stopped in the store just before closing to see about getting a paring knife fixed. When I went back to my car it wouldn’t start. Luckily I returned to the store and was able to buy a battery for my key fob. Evelyn and Lori saved me by finding exactly what I needed and installing it for me. Thank you ladies! I love this store.

My husband loves this store, its closer to our house then Menards, Lowes & Home Depot. So we do pop in there when we need something quickly, and they always have it.

Sign on door clearly says they program car remotes. I brought one in I got off Amazon and the lady tells me, Oh no, We dont do that here in a way like I did something dirty or illegal. They only program ones they sell. I think thats silly rule, but theres no need to be rude about it.
