Rude customer service. Shady store that has no clue how to run a legitimate business. They think they’re only dealing with naive college students smh.

I’m confused as to how the rating is so high, because I’ve only heard bad things about this place.Anyways, I came in looking for a throttle cable. From what I saw online, they usually cost $10-20. I was charged $30, and I told them I was just going to order one online because they were cheaper. The staff assured me my scooter needed a “special cable”, and I wasn’t going to be able to find it online. I asked them what kind of cable it was, and they refused to tell me.I ended up buying their cable, and 5 minutes later I found the exact same cable for $5 online. Really??? The entire experience gave me the impression that they were trying to take advantage of me because I don’t know a lot about mopeds. Next time a student comes in asking for help, just be honest.

When purchasing, they were great. Here is where it gets awful. Two months after we bought TWO scooters, one of them died. Looked at paperwork, stated in WRITING there is a one year warranty. Took in the scooter, was told the warranty is not valid. It will cost us to fix this brand new item. Then, waiting a week, no word. Two phone calls (left messages) were unanswered. Third time was told that service was out to lunch. If we would have read the reviews prior to purchasing, we would not have done business with this place. Who knows when we will get our scooter back and how much it will cost to fix. Lesson learned. If zero stars were an option, that is what we would be rating this place.

I bought my wolf moped here fall of 2017. Campus Scooter is a great local business. Every time I have needed an oil change or repair they have completed it very quickly. All of the staff is very friendly and professional. This is where I bought my Wolf moped and get all of my maintenance work done. I literally will not go anywhere else.

First time moped buyer. Looking around Lansing and had the choice between Campus Scooter and another store. Other store made my wife and myself nervous but Campus Scooter was the complete opposite. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable. No high pressure sales tactics. Extremely comfortable sales room. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to buy a scooter.

If you need a moped only go to campus scooter! They are very honest, have great prices, and even better services. They make sure you walk out of there knowing every about your scooter including how to ride it and how to take care of it. I’ve had my moped for about two years and take it in routinely for the oil changes and maintenance. They check EVERYTHING for you! I like that you can make appointments online, they are very kind if you need to reschedule, and are always on time!

I purchased a Genuine Roughhouse at the beginning of the semester. I got it in black and I love it. I tested a few of their scooters and this was the best one, by far. These guys are great! Not to sound cheesy, but I had a piece on my muffler that would make my moped sound louder than a Harley and they fixed it for me for free! They really care about their customer service and making sure their clients have 100% satisfaction. It is at a convenient location and try to get scooters back as soon as they can. I definitely recommend this place for college students with mopeds.

Its been over a month since I got any sort of update on my scooter. Took it in the first time for a gearbox oil leak and extremely poor performance when warmed up. Brought it home, while the leak was fixed the scooter continued to run as poorly as it did when I brought it in.Took it back and its been over a month since they said anything. Im not sure they are doing anything to it at this point.

I just bought a Wolf RX-50 from campus scooters, the staff was very helpful and ensured we had all of our questions answered.

I bought a scooter here my freshman year. Really low quality products, but I was unaware and naive so I decided to buy a wolf rx-50. A year later it completely stopped starting up so I decided to bring the scooter in for repairs. The guys said it would take a week or two max which was great. About 3 months later, I got a call saying it was ready. The first time I rode it, it broke down within 20 minutes on the road and black smoke came through the back. I ended up spending a large sum on a moped that lasted one year and another hefty sum to repair it by mediocre at best mechanics. I would NOT recommend buying any of their Chinese made scooters. Take your business elsewhere

Screw this place. Bought a moped from them about 4 years ago. Had pieces breaking on it within weeks. The clutch died about a month in, and they tried to fight me on fixing it, even though it was under warranty. Now I need to get the back tire changed. Their website clearly says that if you bought the moped from them, theyll work on it. I was told that they will not work on it, because they no longer sell that model.Screw this place. They overcharge. And their website has false advertisement. Oh well. I already found another shop that will do the work cheaper. Find a different shop that actually deserves your money.

One star is too high for these people. They are very rude, condescending, and have extremely unscrupulous business practices. The overpriced one year warranty doesnt mean a thing to Campus Scooter as they will find ways around it and overcharge you for basic services. They price gouge, lie and exaggerate costs to their customers, and are generally shady with their repairs. AVOID at all costs, try to purchase somewhere else. I refuse to bring my business back to them and I warn anyone who considers shopping here to not.

My Black Wolf RX-50 fell down during a storm and started to run slower and made funny noises. After bringing it in and the repairs were made my moped has never ran this fast and well!

Terrible customer service. I placed an order for a new part and it took them over a month for them to give it to me. After calling repeatedly, I realized they had ordered it 2 weeks after the date they said they had originally placed the order. And when I finally went to pick it up, I spent a half hour in the store because no one acknowledged the fact that I was there. Terrible service would never recommend

Very shady shop. Tried to over charge me about $100 and got upset that I caught it. The owners daughter is very bitter which is the red head girl. It seems if your white and privileged you will have no problem coming here, but notice if your a minority they will treat you different. I bought mopad from here brand new so I had the so called 2yr warranty and they still charged me for the light bulbs when they burned out. If your a minority please be careful when coming to this shop because you will be treated different and they will over charge you and take over a month to do an oil change. And please be cautious of all these 5 star reviews on here alot of them are the employees them selves. The owners daughter needs to be fired along with the mechanics because what they do to some customers is uncalled for. But because its a family owned business nothing will ever happen.

Jsut had some questions about a used scooter i bought from a college student and they were very helpful. They gave me some good tips and Sydney try to sell me anything.

This place told me they could fix my scooter in 2-3 days. I took my moped in on October 4th and didnt get it back until October 27th. The same thing happened to me the first time I ever went here, where I took my scooter in and they said it would take a week, and it took 6 weeks. I will not be giving them my business again and neither should you.

You have kept my Vespa in perfect working order since I brought it to you broken down and not running about a year ago last April. I thought she was down for the count, but you guys figured out it was just a fouled out spark plug. I have been driving it almost daily ever since, with only routine oil changes and a couple of charges to the battery. You are a GREAT SERVICE to the MSU community!

This place is a joke. Not only has my brand new 1400 dollar scooter had multiple issues, I take it in and still have to pay for repairs while its under warranty the service is brutal and basically expect to wait an extra 3 days to pick up your scooter any time you take it in. They never finish them when they say they will and the price is always different from what they say. And to top it all off the scooters are junk. Shell out an extra few 100 bucks and get a brand name scooter like a ruckus or a zuma. Wish I could give this a zero star rating

So first of all, there are a ton of fake reviews on here posted by people who are not customers of Campus Scooters. I am believe they are competitors of this place or former employees of Campus Scooters. Do not fall into the trap of believing these reviews. This company is a family owned business and sells some great products! Dont believe me? Read on then.I met the owner today of Campus Scooters. He is a really fine guy. His name is Tim and his daughter and sons also run the company! Its a family run bushiness .I purchased my first ever Moped from Campus Scooters because I had visited another local scooter company named Scooters2Go and found they were operating there business out of the back end of another company. It was just odd and made me not want to purchase my product there. I wont go back. I visited Campus Scooters in late June and was blown away at how nice the place looked. They had tons of Scooters. I was assisted by Alli (The owners daughter) who let me get on several bikes and rev the engines and try them. They were so cool and I decided to buy one. It honestly came down to buying a scooter or buying a motorcycle. Unfortunately, I had to much anxiety driving and decided to get a Scooter instead of a motorcycle. I thought scooters were really neat and wanted to get into it as a hobby! I could have purchased a 600$ motorcycle, but was not ready for that yet. I ended up purchasing a Wolf Rx-50 from them. Dont regret it.As far as problems. I have had a few. However, they are getting covered and were resolved under the warranty. It is rare for any problems to occur under a Wolf Brand Scooter. It is not Campus Scooters fault for the parts breaking or having issues. It would be on Wolfs end. Even then, these issues I am guessing occur in maybe every couple of thousand scooters. These scooters have to be inspected, pass tests and are even inspected at the dealer. I cant speak for whether they inspect the engine at first when it arrives, but they do it at the company in Florida. I have spoken to Three Wolf dealers and each one of these companies have spoken highly about the products they make and sell. Issues can occur and people make mistakes, but Brian the mechanic at Campus Scooters checks these and is highly skilled from what I am told at what he does.So here is some advice. If you want a amazing product, get Genuine. I felt the Genuine Rough House scooter 50cc 2 stroke and it is a beast. Feels like a Honda Ruckus. Made of good quality parts! This thing blows the Wolf Blaze and Rx-50 away. Ask Tim about it or Alli! They will tell you about this scooter. Also ask him about the kid who road his Wolf to Chicago. Thats the kinda products they sell.I cant say how much freedom having a scooter has given me. I can drive around places and I have decided to get my motorcycle permit. I am guessing I will get that next spring sometime! I love the sound the scooter makes. It has a unique sound that doesnt match any other machine I have driven or rode. I hope this hobby continues for many years! Thanks so much for everything!

Very disappointing....brought my moped in for a simple tune up. After i got it back oddly enough it was in worse shape, so i call in and ask for some help. Unfortunately i made the mistake of telling the employee on the phone my scooter had been previously serviced there, i say unfortunately because at the first mention of campus scooters possible responsiblility for anything negative the employee shut down. What started as a simple call for a little help ended with the suggestions that its probably just getting old and needs some new parts, thanks for nothing campus scooters, next time Ill make the drive to some other people who actaully know what theyre doing.

Wasnt impressed. Scooter had a broken handle and hadnt been started in a while. Took it in to have handle repaired hoping that was the problem with starting it. Asked for $40 deposit said it would take about a month and a half. On the online form in shop it asked what price level would be ok before checking if repair would be alright. Filled in $150. They said they would call when ready. Waited about a month and a half, no call. So I called to check on status. Its done $175 due. Get there to pick it up and get receipt. Just says carburetor $60? Replaced? Cleaned? Handle $13 Labor $97.50. Dont remember the other handle being broken, but it was and could have been. Tech said he checked the battery and it would take a charge. Electric starter wouldnt turn it over. He kick started it. Brought it home and put it on a charger. Wouldnt take a charge. Receipt made no mention of $40 I had already put down. When asked he said it was for diagnostic. Just seemed unprofessional, and winging explanation of what was done. Scooter does run good.

Best scooter store in East Lansing!

My scooter was running a little slower than usual and the headlight was out so I brought it to Campus Scooter to have it fixed. 2 weeks later, they havent gotten to it yet. 3 weeks later I called and they said it was ready. I test drive the scooter and it performs exactly the same as when I dropped it off. They charge me $200 for labor and parts and I tell them to keep the scooter until it is fixed. Finally, on the 4th week, they tell me my scooter is ready and to come test it. It is STILL RUNNING SLOW. The mechanic takes it outside, puts it on the stand and revs it at full throttle for a minute straight (terrible for scooter, no load on the engine). He then removes the snorkel from the airbox and says it had a flow problem. The scooter ran better after that. I get charged another $150 in parts and labor. The headlight still never was fixed.I had a slow scooter and a burned out headlight. 4 weeks, $350, and much frustration later, my scooter runs but still has a headlight out. The workers seemed frustrated with me whenever I was dissatisfied and I felt like they did not want to work with me. They told me my scooter was ready and I made many trips to test it, each time it had been unchanged. I felt robbed.If you take your scoot here, realize they are going to put in minimum effort and take their sweet time fixing it. Fixing here means if there is something wrong with a part, dont fix it, replace it completely. At the end of the day, youre out way more money and time than necessary. I will not be going here again. If 0/5 stars was an option, I would choose that.

Brought my scoot in to have the some new tires mounted. They took thrice as long as it should have, and installed the tires backwards! Then they told me to just drive around like that! They werent going to do anything about it until I asked for my money back, either. Billed me for more than an hour of non customer labor for a 30 minute job. Clownage. I got to hang around in the shop for 20-25 minutes while they remounted the tires (the amount of time it should have taken the first time around and all I should have been billed for) and look at Chinese scoots marked up 300%. Avoid at all costs.

Just purchased a Wolf 50 from Campus Scooter. This scooter RUNS GREAT and the service and professionalism are great too. I watched the employees interact with a number of younger students with speed and urgeny and treat all of them like they were the most important person there. Not even one year ago I purchased a TaoTao from an out of town dealer and I have had nothing but trouble with this cheap, terrible product. NEVER BUY A TAOTAO or you will be looking for trouble almost immediately and certainly often. This is probably why Campus Scooter does not service or sell them. Lesson learned the hard way. Buy from these guys, they’re the best. Thanks again for a great buying experience!!
