I started with a really small problem that I thought was bigger and they were very honest and their price was so understandable I now have multiple things that I need checked on my car and I wouldnt trust a go anywhere else they both are super awesome sweet and reasonable the honesty and not wanting to overprice really goes a long way with me in a lot of automotive shop I find that its hard to find honest and that just means the world they thoroughly check everything and do it right I highly recommend you dont go anywhere else but ulmerton and Starkey...

Jim and Mike are amazing mechanics and amazing people all the way around. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. Words can not even describe how much stress they took off of our plate! They are more than reasonable and they treat you like family.We had a complicated issue with our radiator, the radiator fan, and the fan clutch on a work vehicle. Jim understood my concern and got me in quickly. He finished the truck up within a couple of days and went above and beyond to make sure that the repair got done in a timely manner.If you want mechanics who care, come here. I went to this place needing to get a vehicle inspection for my insurance. I figured since they were an auto repair shop that they could take a look at my nieces breaks.We went home and got the car and brought it back. She was so impressed by how thoroughly they were checking all aspects of the breaks - pads, routers and drums and the problem was diagnosed.The workers were very honest and upfront, kept us informed and explained everything so she understood.Only downfall is that it started to rain and there was no where to sit. But oh well, we kinda enjoyed watching the work being done.

Yesterday, I took my GMC Savana 2500 Cargo Van to Ulmerton and Starkey Automotive to get an issue with the brakes and transmission repaired. They were professional, honest, friendly, very knowledgeable and reasonably priced at a fraction of the cost of dealerships and other mechanic shops. Jim is s honest as can be He would never lie to anyone, nor would he rip anyone off. The shop is nothing fancy, but that is how he keeps the costs down. I put my family in cars that Jim fixes and I love my family.

He was recommended but I was disappointed. I hired Jimmy (the proprietor) to check out a truck I wanted to buy and especially to check the brakes. I left the truck with him and came back a half-hour later. He said the truck was great but definitely needs brakes and hed do it for $200. I then went to Tires Plus, Tire Kingdom and the Ford dealer. All of them said the brakes were new (front) and fairly new (rear). So... Jimmy was lying to me? Did he even check the truck or did he just take my money?

NEVER EVER GO HERE! Just moved to FL from New Mexico, my engine blew after couple months. Had my car towed over to this place hoping to get my car going. Everybody said Jim is such a great guy. Had some great reviews online. Thought why not?So, my auto loan is from my bank in South Dakota, I was waiting for my insurance company to process the insurance claim and had my car towed over to his shop, he diagnosed it, said we needed a new engine. He parked it along side his shop. My bank spoke with him the next day. (Just so happened to be couple days before the Christmas holidays began) Couple days past, and were all waiting for my bank to hear something back from the insurance company. During a period of 8 days, I had stopped by and spoke with Jim several times explaining I have not heard anything, and if it is okay my car is parked there? He assured me and said he would not charge me- only the insurance company. I had my bank call him again- spoke with my bank and understood.AND THEN on the 11th day (again this is over the holidays and people at my bank and the insurance company are probably out on holiday leave)-Jim calls me up at work telling me he doesnt know what happened but my car was STOLEN AND MISSING from his shops parking lot?! And told me to call the police! Frantic, I call the Largo Police station, and they told me JIM called them LAST NIGHT and had my car and 2 OTHER CARS towed from his shop! And the police, who were very understanding of the situation, gave me the tow company name and assured me that it was Jims fault and HE was the one that called them to notify them that he was having these 3 cars towed. I call back Jim- he pretends to not know of anything- I tell him the police told me it was YOU that called- then Jims personality changes- he said Well! You should have told your bank to HURRY UP! I told him that my car has been parked outside and I CANT DO ANYTHING! I told him that I have called him over 5 times- almost every other day explaining that we are still waiting to hear something- and even offered to have a tow truck come and bring it to my house- And he told me NO! He said Thats fine- Just leave it here at my shop! And it being over the holidays- me and the bank are waiting on the insurance company to finish the claim! He told me Well NOW its your problem! FIGURE IT OUT!PLEASE NEVER GO TO THIS MAN EVER!!!! HE IS AN UGLY PERSON! And because Jim called me the next day after he had it towed and it was after 5pm- I was not able to make it to the tow place before they closed, so I ended up play over $220 just to get my broke-down car towed out of the tow place and back to my house until the insurance company were able finished my claim!!! HE IS AN EVIL MAN! IF THIS CAN STOP ONE PERSON FROM GOING TO THIS MAN! MY JOB IS DONE!!!He has NO IDEA how much hardship he put me through- everything that happened was a complete waste of my time and money! No remorse! He is an ugly man! I feel bad for the other two car owners that he had towed off his lot with mine- I doubt he admitted towing their cars that day! LOOK OUT!
