The only place I will ever purchase my water sporting equipment from. The staff and owner there are, by far, the nicest people to work with. Having the ability to test out the products before you purchase is such an awesome option. We purchased two kayaks and I had cross bars installed on my car. The whole buying/install process was quick and easy. They really know their equipment well and make great recommendations based on what you are looking for.

A great selection of products. We love purchasing reef sandals here. I encourage all local and tourists to visit here for the variety of things for sale. My daughter loves the toys. However, what will stand out the most is the customer service. They guys that work here are so very friendly and chill. They are sweet to the kiddos. Reasonable returns with no questions asked. Great local spot. Theyve been around for awhile. Not just a resale shop for other companies. They are innovative in the industry, you can rent a Board and if you purchase the rental fee goes towards it. The owner is a cool older surfer and hes fun to chat with.

Just purchased 2 Pelican kayaks from them and couldn’t be happier. Great service and perfect price. Wish I knew (remembered) the guy’s name that helped us so I could give him a shout out. He had the kayaks outside waiting for us so we could check them out as soon as we arrived. He loaded them onto the truck for us, tied them down, and taught us a nice trick for keeping them secure at the same time. Highly recommend! Thank you!

I have always wanted to go into this store after passing it so many times and finally went in. It was not what I expected. I wasnt there for anything in particular, just to take a peak. When first walking in I saw souvenir type merchandise which I was surprised by. Although this location is somewhat close to the beach, its not on the beach so I assumed it was a locals type place to buy boards and accessories. Upon walking in all I saw was souvenirs. I felt like I was at a tourist shop on the beach. Sell what you want, but as a local it was somewhat off putting. I walked around the soft goods area and looked around at the boards for a minute, and not one of the 6 employees I saw in the building said a word to me and my friend. Im sure the employees of this place are great when it comes to buying, renting and repairing boards and kayaks. But why wouldnt you treat every customer that walks in the door the same? They didnt even glance in our direction. What if I was actually there to make a huge purchase?Im just disappointed 👎

You know how women like to have color coordinated outfits. 😂😂😂We walked into the store and was immediately greeted by the staff. Lane approached us and asked if we needed help. I told him we were in search of a SUP. He was a wealth of knowledge on the product and got my wife the perfect board in the right color. A big shout out to WaterSports West and Lane!!! We will be back for all our water sports needs.

LOVE THIS SHOP! I have bought a few paddle boards and kayaks from Watersports West. I just purchased a Crescent Splash II kayak from them to take my little guys out on the water with me. We took it to the Keys last weekend and it was amazingly stable, fast and comfortable. The people at Watersports West do not pressure you into anything. They showed me a few new boards they are carrying now as well. They are always patient and never pushy, are very knowledgeable and answer all my questions.I go there for all my kayak and paddle boarding needs.

I bought the 2020 SIC Okeanos 14x28 touring paddle board. Steve and the crew of Watersports West were very helpful in determining which board best suited my paddling goals. Steve took me out and let me paddle five boards of my choice. I shopped around the Tampa Bay area and Watersports West was the most helpful and motivated. They have one the biggest inventories of boards in the area. I highly recommend you check them out.

These guy were nice enough. but their $18 swim goggles are horrible. defective design.... I asked if I could demo them at my local pool. and they said once they leave the store. they would not stand by to their product. all I can say is their aryca brand they sell are horrible. switch over to higher quality guys.

Lane is the man! He’s so positive and wants to get everyone on the water with the right equipment. He went through all the foil options with me and helped me choose my first foil. We just bought two kayaks from Steve yesterday. One demo Bonafide 127 and one new one in a different color. All of staff were extremely nice and helpful especially Lane and the owner Steve. They answered any questions we had and gave plenty of suggestions for my son and I as we are first time kayak owners. Steve quickly installed the anchor trolleys that we purchased and spent quite a bit of time making sure that our purchases were properly secured in the truck as we originally came just to demo and did not bring a trailer like we should have. We owe you a spool of string!😁 I rarely do reviews on any company, but I was really impressed with the service that Steve provided. I would definitely recommend going to one of their demo days and also checking out the store.

So I custom ordered a paddle board, asked a million questions, called and emailed so many times before during and after the purchase, Steve at watersports west was absolutely phenomenal to work with. Truly a pleasure. He helped us every step of the way with the decision to buy an L4 from Live watersports. He demod all the mods and options to put on the board. Even through in some deals for my girlfriend and I to use there while in Tampa, since we came from out of town to pick up the board... Oh yeah, ON A SUNDAY. This man went the extra mile. I stopped here to price paddle boards. This store is a lot larger than I thought it would be.I asked about the paddle boards as I arrived. One of the sales people took me to the paddle boards and made sure to show me the different locations to find them, point out the prices, and answer questions that I had. She also told me about their opportunity to try the paddle boards on Saturdays. So Ill definitely be checking that out.They have a large selection of swimwear and beach supplies as well. I mentioned that I was going to look at what they had, and the lady showed me an area where there were some clearance markdowns. There were many options for clearance clothing. I found so much I could have spent money on.They have changing rooms to try on anything you may want.When I checked out, the man at the register seemed he may be the owner. He also told me about the Saturday program to try their boards and kayaks. It seemed like the place is a small family run business. There were two other young men that appeared to possibly be brothers as well as the older man they all looked as if they may be related. While checking out the older man gave me additional discounts. I did not expect that. It was very nice. By shopping their clearance, I walked out with two board shorts, and two shirts for about $100. These are higher priced brand names. I never would have found such prices in other places.I will definitely be taking friends and family to see this store.

My husband promised that as soon as we moved to the beach he would buy me a paddle board. He is a researcher and boy did he score big with this one. We were only supposed to go on a quick errand and it turned out to be an hour excursion. and boy was it worth it. We had a phenomenal experience at Watersports West. Steve, Anthony and Lane all great guys. They took their time with me explained in detail the proper form, technique and safety a novice would need to know when owing a board. I learned about the history of the Bahia and background of the shop.If you are looking for any water toy- go here!! I recently attended on of the Demo Days at Bellair Park with a group of Veterans. This group consisted of a mix of skill levels; beginner through advanced. I cannot begin to thank the Owner and Staff for their help in educating, selecting, and showing us different techniques about the sport. Keith, Brad, and Barbara were incredibly helpful and friendly in all aspects of our visit and we would have stayed all day if time had allowed. I, along with several other Veterans will be back again soon and I foresee a board or kayak purchase will be in our future. Im gonna go ahead and leave this here, one of the staff back in 2011 was pulling out of the parking lot and hit me on my bicycle without stopping to pull out in the road. He weasled his way into not paying for my hospital bills or replacing my bicycle. Im now looking into options for legal matters because he set me back and cost me my job.

Amazing place to get your gear at. Steve, the owner, priced matched or beat anything I found online. Very patient and wants you to try on everything (in my case harnesses for kiteboarding and wetsuits) to make sure they fit properly. Never felt rushed. Anthony and Brett were also extremely helpful in answering any questions I had and not once did they make me feel like I was annoying them with a million questions. They really are there to help you and they all take pride in what they do. I will be recommending this place to friends.

This has been my go to place for kiteboarding gear. They carry quality equipment, offer great prices, sponsor equipment demos, and the salesperson I have worked with (Anthony) is knowledgeable, friendly, and goes above and beyond to help customers.

Horrible customer service. Heres a classic Business 101 pearl: do not invite customers to contact your business by email and then never read/respond to customer emails.After two emails sent several days apart and giving Watersports West (WW) a full week to respond to the last one, WW lost out on a Jimmy Lewis SUP sale because they couldnt be bothered. Well done, WW.Gave LL Bean my immediate business for a Pau Hana instead because their customer service rep(s) actually responded to emails sent to them in a timely manner. Like any business in 2017 inviting customers to contact them via email should. Well, okay. And because LL Beans across the country shipping fees ($60) arent highest-in-the-industry like WWs ($299).

Overall experience with the company was ok, not very informative on the product but very friendly. My issue comes with the product they sell, i purchased a Bote Rover and have had TONS of issues with it. Hull number was 11 digits instead of 12 so i couldnt register it, motorac doesnt accept the rotopax as advertised, wheelrac cannot be used with Rover and the wheels constantly go flat. I have contacted Watersports West with most of the issues but they are unable to help, the most recent was my Rover taking on water into the hull (which isnt supposed to happen) i bought the board 3 months ago and they said i would be responsible for the fix, its leaking from a bolt hole in the board so its nothing that could have been my fault. So the company is ok but the products they sell they are not willing to back, that warrants the 2 star rating, hopefully they make changed moving forward.
