Super friendly and knowledgeable. I went in to find some hard woods to begin some hobby woodworking. I told the guy (Pretty sure his name was Justin) I was a novice. I wanted to start with something simple to make like a cutting board. He informed me they have a scrap bin and recommended starting there. He showed me where the bin was and introduced me to the types of wood. I picked out a small batch of some decent pieces. He gave me a very reasonable flat rate for the whole batch. Very awesome!

Never use this place they dont know how to Measure and then confront them with a problem and they blame you. They are very incompetentI went to this location 2 weeks ago to get some wood paneling made for one of my customers brought in a sample of the wood so that they can remake the product. order 13 8ft sticks From Collin . I get a call on last Thursday saying the product is ready for pick up. I come by on Friday mourning to pick up the order and they take me back and said here u go. it is 72ft of a completely different profile. the gentleman said this what u order. I asked where is my sample peace I gave u and where is Colin. colin comes out and said it looks right and I said no where is the sample. he disappears for 15 mins and comes back it will be ready by 12. so I go and pick up the boards at 5 oclock and are blade damages on the boards. we load them on the back of my truck and I noticed not one board is the same length. I asked for a tape measure and start measuring the boards. there are 7 boards under 8 ft. so I asked colin about this and he said it is your fault if u needed 8ft you should have order 10 not 8s. at this I am so upset by the Terrible customer service I said take them off my truck and give me a refund. And then he says whos gonna fix it for you, I will pay someone that Actually a carpenter that knows how to measure. so he refuses to take the boards back to get a refund.

They got the job done, but there were many minor issues.Needed to get 2 cabinet doors made since I could not get a manufacturer to replace them. I called Weiss and they seemed responsive and professional on the phone. They were also capable of starting the job right away.The guys at the office seemed nice enough, but I think because the job was so small, one of them decided to joke around a bit which I found irritating. Basically when I asked how much to have the two doors done, the rep decided to break out a calculator and punch in numbers for like 2 whole minutes until I said something to the effect of Wow, thats a whole lot of calculating your doing there for 2 doors. Then he stopped, looked at the doors for a moment (almost like he was making up his mind on the spot) and gave me a price.I mention this because another reviewer (on yelp) posted something about a smart comment made to them, and it seems like maybe they think they are comedians too?Anyway, they said 2 weeks for the doors and it took almost 4. One door also has some odd and obvious change in the pattern of wood that is very noticeable since the color and pattern are significantly different from the rest of the door. It almost looks like they patched the wood, but I am hoping some staining will hide this OBVIOUS imperfection.I am glad they did this small job for me and I was also happy with the price. It would be nice if they were more professional, met their own deadlines and paid a little more attention to detail.I would consider going back, but only after shopping around a bit.

I built a tabletop. It may not be the prettiest or best tabletop but it’s mine. Weiss was there to help me clean it up and give me ideas. They have a great selection of wood! They were easy to communicate with and sanded my tabletop. They were helpful to an amateur like myself and super nice. I would 100% recommend anyone with a woodworking project in mind to Weiss. Great place with great prices. They also have a decent selection of exotics. Lots of Purple Heart, Padauk, Zebra, Tiger, Wenge, etc. Plus this place is centrally located in Pinellas county. Lastly, the people are really knowledgeable and friendly. I personally recommend this place to woodworkers in Pinellas county.

Best place to get lumber

We went to Weiss Hardwooods and they were very friendly and helpful. Their hardwood selection is amazing! We picked up several different species of hardwood for a table top were building and the staff took us around the facility and showed us where everything is. Im a wheelchair user and the entire facility was accessible and easy to get around in. Thank you Weiss!

This is a top-notch place for domestic and exotic hardwoods. The selection and quality of product is incredible!

This company signed a proposal to take out and replace two thresholds for us. We knew this was a small job and were willing to pay a premium to get it done. However, the job was too small for them to actually get around to doing and their installer told me so straight forward. Even though he had said he would get here, he never did. These guys cant be bothered with something small, nor can they even be pleasant about it after youve signed the proposal. They should have just said up front that they didnt want the job instead of delaying us. Our kitchen area was retiled and the wood from the hallway and the dining room needed the thresholds done differently so everything would look better. This is the only thing that has not yet been done, I am looking around for someone else to come help us. I would never hire these folks to do a bigger job for us, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.
