These guys really saved me in a bind. I was out of town, my alternator had gone out, and I needed to get back to work. They were able to get me in and perform the repair quickly so I could get home at a time when so many shops were telling me that they couldnt get me in for weeks. They were recommended to me by several people, and they were well worth the recommendation.

Past experiences all positive. They do good repair work at reasonable rates. Always extremely busy, so drop your car off and pick it up at end of the day.

First off, these guys are super knowledgable mechanics and do more than mufflers and brakes. I was on a cross-country trip when my 1987 Toyota 4Runner had some issues so I towed it to Dana and crew, and they had me continuing on my roadtrip in less than an hour, giving me an honest assessment of the simple issues and what I needed to fix now and what could wait until my final destination. If youre traveling through Las Cruces and run into to issues, run to these guys.

Amazing and fast service!! Called to see if I could get my catalytic converter changed and was told to bring it in right then! Unfortunately I don’t remember the mechanics name, but he was extremely knowledgeable on how the converter works and he even told me the best gas for my car. Everything was finished and ready for pick up within an hour and the price was more than fair! Thank you for doing such a great job, guys!!! I will definitely recommend you to others.

Went there and found these guys to be honest and up front. Pricing was extremely competitive and repairs could have cost as much as 3 times as much at dealership. These guys knew their stuff and like working on cars. Theyre not much into looking like the newest shop on the block, in fact the look of everything made me feel like I was going back in time.... as did the honesty and forthcoming conversation we had.

Do NOT I repeat do NOT bring your vehicle to this place ! Took my 2019 Dodge Challenger and they messed it up. They damaged my car while lifting it, my car has two dents and some scratches. Spoke to the owner Dana and of course he didn’t care at all he denied everything. What a horrible experience, now I’m left with the damages.

Mr. Dana was very nice and helpful. We had a long road trip from Nevada to Houston, Texas and our car stopped on the road near New Mexico. We got help from a nice guy kicking the engine on then went to Autozone in Las Cruces. They referred me to Mr. Dana. He helped us clean the corrosion and rechecked on battery and everything turned out okay. He did not charge any dollar for labor. He also gave us so many advices on how to maintenance the car. I highly recommend Mr. Dana to everyone

Only mechanic I fully trust in this area.

The guys that work at alert auto are really nice and they know their stuff. The bad part is that they are so busy that it takes forever for the work to be completed. I spent $600 on car rentals when it took 2+ months for them to put in a clutch. There were some complications, so its understandable that it took another week, but two months is way too long. I wish they had told me how busy they were upfront so that I could have gone somewhere else since I was renting a car. I still recommend them because theyre competent, just make sure you find out if theyre booked up first.

I remember two years ago, they charged me $400 to change my serpentine belt. They had then charged me $40 for wire work I look under the hood, and I saw zip ties. They took advantage of me because I was a dumb kid. Until this day, Im still pissed about it. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS!I REPEAT! DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!They will try their BEST to rip you off.

Great guy best place in town to get your car or truck serviced and only place to get a muffler

Dana (owner) seems like a nice guy but not sure this guy really knows his advanced muffler stuff. Needed some exhaust tip re-work and he wanted to chop everything off (estimated 2 hours work! and had to leave the car with them) instead of just simply cutting a few tack welds off. Said adios to Alert Muffler, and then drove direct to J&J Muffler. They cut the welds with a Sawzall, adjusted them, re-welded and out the door in 40 minutes. Moral of story, go with J&J Muffler for your exhaust/muffler work in Las Cruces.

I have had Alert Muffler install Flowmaster mufflers on my last two vehicles and I highly recommend them if you want excellent work done at a fair price. They have installed a Series 10 muffler and a Series 40 muffler. Friendly staff and owner.

The folks at Alert muffler saved me 1600 dollars. I was told by a dealership in town that I needed certain work done on my Toyota Prius. I took it to Dana and got a second opinion. Needless to say, he (and the folks at Alert muffler) after correctly diagnosing the issue (or non issue as was the case) saved me from a 1600 dollar service at the dealership. I will always go to Alert for any work that I need done and I would suggest anyone else do the same.

Passing through town and needed a unique part for our VW Subaru conversion muffler problem - these guys couldnt squeeze us in - but one of the guys found a piece that he actually redesigned for us and instructed us on how to repair...we asked what we owed him. He said Nothin man, you just enjoy your lifeAll the bays here were full and this place obviously was busy - the guys working were busy and happy...we would reccomend this establishment.

First of all ALERT MUFFLER AND BULLSH*T is what this guys shop should be called. Rude and does not respect the customers hes doing work for. After you give him the money- he never saw your car. Im sorry 1 star the worst service Ive ever experienced with a shop. And Ive gone to shops with a Mexican working out of his garage. Its sad to see a local business run so horrible

This is like a throwback garage from the early 80s, one of those they dont make em like this anymore places. The Guy running the show is Dana. Hes on point and knows his stuff. Exceptionally honest and kind too i must say. I had a fuel pump replaced on my f150. They diagnosed the problem correctly, and since the truck wouldnt start, as many others have been doing, I left the truck parked there for a few days while the part was ordered online for a really good price and shipped to the shop. they installed it the day after it arrived and i was good to go, and of course the price was surely right, Alert does the same thing the dealership does only for alot less in price. Listen the shops been there for awhile so, that alone speaks for itself. Also i had a flowmaster put on my truck maybe a year ago here and again the price was right and the service then was great. if you need a some work done on your vehicle def give them a call and talk to the man.
