In my opinion, El Indio always has some of the best Tamales in town. Good portions of filling and always good sized. I recently went by to get tamales for a work pot luck and they were out, instead I got some of the rolled tacos (with ground beef) and those were some of the best rolled tacos I have ever had. There queso and salsa have great flavor too.Im just starting to try more of the menu and I noticed today they now take credit & debit cards. The owners are some wonderful people. Please give it a try and support them.

We got a dozen of the tamales dulces, for Christmas. These are traditional, with anise flavor and raisins. I felt the ratio of filling to masa was not optimal, in that there needed to be more filling. Like all Mexican sweets, it is not overly sugary, but flavorful. I feel this local shop is a great part of the community. It is AUTHENTIC. The people there are very nice, too. WARNING: The green chile tamales are muy picoso. Too hot for us, it turned out.

I made 3 separate long-distance trips due to being told tamales would be fresh and ready but was let down all 3 times. My third unsuccessful trip, the woman behind the counter laughed while saying, so sorry for making make so many trips for nothing! She then told me to come by the next day in AM but I told her that I would never come back. I was after the candied tamales they make because I bought some last year and they were good but unfortunately, I will miss out this year. I got the feeling I was being played by this woman for whatever reason!! The buenelos I bought last week prior, were too dark and chewy not very crunchy. The dozen flour tortillas that I bought that day were very thick and were already too burnt to heat up at home. I threw them out! This factory was so good previous years, Im disappointed!! I ended up buying some red pork tamales at Robertos on Amador which turned out to be very tasty so Im gonna enjoy!!

Was sold raw tamales.I called and gentleman said that I could take the back and exchange for hopefully cooked ones.I would have if I lived local but its a 90 mile round trip. You shouldnt sell them if they are not done.Lesson learned will buy from Bosa next time..
