Absolutely the WORST customer service EVER!! Kept charging monthly even though I had canceled a few months ago over phone. When I called to complain, girl on phone actually raised her voice as though scolding me and said that I was “talking over her”. Are you kidding me??? She said my account was still open because I never sent the cancellation email that I was supposed to send. What???? The guy I cancelled with over the phone NEVER mentioned that I needed to send a cancellation email!! How could I possibly know that. This is a very shady operation. I see also that I’m not the only person who has this sort of experience with them. Unbelievable!!’

So far, very pleased. Rates seem typical, but competitive enough. Customer Service was great! He answered all my questions and explained everything very clearly and added details in areas I should have asked about. I appreciate that most of all.

When I purchased my home eleven years ago, I contacted Protection 1 to install a new security system. All was fine and dandy for the obligated two year time frame. They called me to ask if I was satisfied. I told them yes. They asked if I would be willing to go with a five year contract. I said yes. The bill doubled. I had the five years. At the end of five years, I kept getting bills for the entire year, and was told that I was still under contract. I wasnt. My five years was up. They harrassed me so much with mailing out bills, to emails and phone calls.I wrote to them, called them and emailed them well over a hundred fifty times. I dont understand how the first two years and the last five years add up to eleven. I finally managed to get through to someone that sent me a copy of the mistake THEY MADE, and overcharged me for service that I didnt need. I already had another security system installed for over two and a half years. They are now going to court with me. They sent me a bill a couple of weeks ago for the full year. For an entire year, their system never worked in my home. I am a Fully Disabled Veteran that has two sons that are attorneys, and I get free JAG Representation through the VA. I am now taking care of this once and for all. I am going after damages, and I am going to seek suits against any and all involved in scamming me. They finally broke the Camels back! They are also considered a Predatory Business. Just like a Pawn Shop or an Auto Title Loan Business. I just wondered if any of you knew that? The only ones they are protecting, are themselves by way of their bank account, thats filled with everyone elses money from them lying and overbilling!!

I cant even describe the sleezy way they do business. So here it is, i own a business and a home with which they service. I set up autopay for over 10 years and done my part. Jan 2020 i decided to retired so i notify them on Jan 8th(30 dAYS) to cancel service and they say if i was noT told before that my annual contract expires that auto renew takes place,i do not have to. Otherwise i have to pay them $480 to cancel. When they cant find voice recording of my aleged notification, they agree to cancel. To my surprise i notice in march i was still being billed for my business with my home alarm. First call the lady said all the same nonsense about the voice notification, the she retreated to leaving message for her manager. I called back a week later and a diff lady told me all the same thing and tells me i need to have approval to cancel!!!!! Apparently i worked for them and need their approval to not do business with them! I told her refund mt feb business acc to my personal or you loose all n autopay gets cancelled regardless. She had 4 days to get back and no one called so i gave them another 3 days and called again. New lady same story n i need to be approved still, then she brought the CLOSER who apologize non stop n said my acc was approved to close today!Seriously, they say this with a straight face, but there is a catch, my feb payment was not going to be applied to my home account, i said fine then cancel my personal account in 90 days which is another new rule they made up on the spot, now what excuse you got. All of a sudden there is a$92 credit applied to my remaining personal acc if i agree to stay with them. i told them when i see the credit i will think about using them, if i dont then for sure i go elsewhere. The grease on my phone by now can fill a 55 gallon barrel and if you want to experience this level of street hustle, call them.

Worst company ever their service always has an error message on panel so you are constantly calling them. On top of that the company are a bunch of money hungry crooks. They sent me a letter stating that i was past due by hundreds of dollars due to their company not taking the money from a credit card i put down for automatic payment. Then they discontinued my service. I paid the amount and called to see why my alarm was not working they stated i had to pay 94 additional dollars for the down time for my alarm. Mind you my alarm billing is only 50.00 a month so where did the 94 dollars come in at??????????? Then i told them to cancel they said i will have to pay 700.00 to cancel. DO NOT GET ANY SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY I CAN SEE THEM GOING OUT OF BUSINESS VERY SOON FROM LAW SUITS!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE SPREAD THE WORD ON THESE CROOKS TAKING FROM THE WORKING CLASS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! AND THIS RATING WOULD NOT LET ME POST MY REVIEW WITHOUT GIVING THEM AT LEAST ONE STAR THEY GET ZERO STAR RATING FROM ME

Bought our security system in November and had a break-in in December. Undoubtedly, if we had not had an alarm system, the perp would have had A LOT more time to go through our things and would have gotten away with more things.Whats even better is that Protection1 offers a guarantee. If you suffer a loss, they will cover your deductible, up to $1,000.What I really love about them is that they do a great job of responding to emails and phone calls. And the people I have dealt with have all been pleasant to talk to.All in all, I highly recommend Protection1 for your home security needs.

Don’t use them, they will lie to you, they will not allow you to pay by check. They want access to your checking account or pay by credit account. They keep calling and wanting me to use their method of payment. Ever bad thing people say about them is true. They claim they care, but they do not. How did these morons ever get a A +. Ever thing they say to you is dishonest.

I bought the most expensive system they sold...garbage. Never works correctly, hundreds of false alarms. Nightmare and total rip off. They say they have a 98 percent customer satisfaction. I am not satisfied. When I had adt I paid half as much and the alarm was better.

Jack Parton is a great Technical Solutions Specialist. The billing on the other hand needs a little work.
