Great place and friendly knowledgeable guys. Drove 3 hours to get there and wasn’t disappointed. Nice selection. The fact that everything is kiln dried makes all the difference in my projects. I’ve bought other slabs that said they were dried only to find out they were still 13-16 % which is still too “wet”. Love the fact that I can bring this wood home and immediately get started. Thanks guys, keep up the good work and I will definitely be back.

Thank you to Matt for his help and advice on this project. He helped me pick out the right boards I needed and really took his time with me. We planned out what each board would be used for. Then he proceeded to give me valuable advice on how to process it down. Without his help I would have wasted a good deal of the wood. The arbor came out fantastic, I got it done with only one trip to the lumber yard and received many compliments. Thanks Matt!

After following Matt on Facebook for a couple years I was finally able to make it out to his shop to purchase some cedar I need for an upcoming project. He had everything I was looking for, and was very helpful throughout my time there. While there it was hard to not get more than what I actually went there for because there is such a large selection of lumber that was very organized. Even though it was close to a two hour drive, I will definitely be making a trip back in the future. Thanks again Matt!

Heavily recommend giving this place a look. I purchased some Hickory for axe handles and some Eastern red cedar to make bread boxes from. Matt Morgan is a very nice guy who can answer just about all your questions. I was pleased with the selection available. Im also thrilled that you can rent the saw mill.

Matt has some great wood selections for the enthusiast. He has a kiln wood dryer for immediate wood use. Burl wood is available and it is the best I have seen.I enjoy coming here and designing future pieces in my head as I look around at all there is here. Every piece I have purchased here was worth it.

Matt and M2 Lumber is the real deal. I am a newbie at woodworking. Matt answered all of my questions and gave me great advice. I took him some some white oak slabs from a 90 year old tree. I wanted to make a table out of this wood that came from my land. In a kind and non-condescending way, he told me what I needed to hear, not necessarily what I wanted to hear. I revisioned my original plans and am almost finished with the table. Matt milled the slabs and gave me a ton of advice and confidence. I will be back. I will post a picture later. Go see him. Experienced woodworker or just getting started, He will treat you right.

I went to M2 Lumber for the first time earlier this week to pick up some walnut. I was really impressed with the selection. Visits are booked by appointment so I felt like I could take my time. Matt helped me find what I was looking for. He definitely seems like he knows his stuff and its reflected in the quality of his lumber. The prices are great too. I looked around for a while and couldnt find a better deal. I drove up an hour+ from Columbia and it was definitely worth my time. I would strongly recommend M2 for your hardwood needs.

I sure was happy to find M2 Lumber LLC within 20 minutes of my house. Matt Morgan has a great selection of milled lumber, and he has helped me make good choices (at good, fair prices) for two projects I have undertaken. My first was a live edge coffee table, the top made from spalted beech that I never would have known to ask about before talking to Matt. I love how it turned out. The second project is a set of 12 poplar shelves that are underway now. The six I have finished are beautiful. Matt offers other services too. When I had a large house-threatening oak taken down some months ago, the tree guys couldnt remove it without ruining my rain-softened yard with their heavy equipment. I called Matt and he removed the tree sections for free without any ground damage. Im sure that oak will be part of some beautiful projects soon! Finally, Matt will mill your own logs for a very reasonable price. I plan to get a fallen cedar done soon.

Great guy, easy to talk to, very fair prices, definitely a wood aficionado for sure! Knew anything and everything wood that you could possibly ask. Picked up (6) or (7) 11’ boards for the table I’m building. He helped me cut them down so they could fit in my SUV and even talked me through the best way to build the bread board I’m doing. I will be definitely going back on my next project. Here’s a picture after they had been run through the planer, still with a few more runs to go though.

I have been going to Matt for roughly a year now. As an individual relatively new to the hobby my questions have been bountiful. The hour drive for me is well worth it and if you live in the upstate of SC or nearby NC or GA the drive will be worth it for you as well.

This dude, right here... customer service is second to none. My wife ordered (3) 10’ long slabs for a countertop for her new salon. We decided to only have Matt plane one side to save some of the thickness. They looked great and only required a little bit of finish sanding for the tops surface. A couple weeks later, once I started actually working with it I realized I really needed both surfaces planed in order for them to sit on the cabinets the way I need them to. Sent Matt a message and he replied right away but said he was going to be going out of town the next day and asked if it could wait a couple weeks. Unfortunately it had to be installed during the time he was going to be out of town, so I’d have to find someone else to do it for me. But nope. He told me to bring them that evening and we’d get it done. So that’s exactly what happened. Took them back out to him and he planed them for me, the evening before going out of town. And what did he charge me for the last minute aggravation I put him through?.... nothing.In summary: super nice guy. Excellent customer service. Quality work. Go see this guy if you need any kind of “specialty” lumber. He does great work and he’ll get you taken care of!

What an amazing place! I just got into wood turning and table making and M2 Lumber is a dream come true. Professional and knowledgeable service blended with the personal touch of a hometown mill. Matt has a great selection of local soft and hardwoods in both slabs and dimensional boards! His prices are very reasonable and he took the time to unstack lumber to look for some quarter-sawn black walnut that would make good guitar back and side sets.
