Been going here for years. Decently affordable for casual players. Course seems well maintained. Prices for accessories or anything besides the course are a bit on the higher end. Does seem like they schedule a lot of people at a time. Last few times Ive gone its been consistently backed up at least a couple minutes on the front 9.
The older man at the pro shop told me they were booked solid. I arrived at 1 pm, hit range balls then Sipped 3 beers, up to 3pm. No more than 16 gophers either started or made the turn. If the old man can manage the course, put him on grass cutting duty or stay home and enjoy retirement.
Zero customer service in the pro shop. More concerned if you’re wearing a mask then they are to bother to tell you they’re starting on number 10 today. Pro shop staff is rude. Food and beverage staff was great. Course was not in good shape, almost no grass around the greens and the greens were painfully slow. No Marshall to deal with extremely slow groups on the course. Sad they think they can charge whatever they want as the only public course in town. Topeka and JoCo are only 20 min away you will lose play with these practices.
Great public course. Well maintained, fairways in perfect condition, nice tee boxes, and good greens. Greens had been aerated recently but in decent shape.
Love the course and love playing at Eagle Bend. But the guys in the clubhouse are rude and unreasonable. Feel like they’d rather be completely empty than have a full tee sheet. I Have called multiple times on temperate at best days and have been told the course is full every time. I just can’t imagine that EVERY tee time is booked on a 40 degree Wednesday in February. Would choose to play anywhere else but it’s the only reasonable course in Lawrence
Not a bad course but they dont put out water (this IS the summer!) and not a single bench on any hole on the course.
Beautiful course, well maintained and has matured very nicely over the years. A challenge in the wind from the tips.
Very nice course. Friendly staff
Nice course, but if every time you call the pro shop to book a tee time they are going to be extremely rude and disrespectful, then they should probably invest in an service where you can book online.
MAY 2021. Course was in very good shape, greens drain very well even after a weekend of rain. $37 per player for 18 and cart.
Nice lay out. Price was right. More than likely will go back sometime to play again.
Embarrassing customer service. They seem to forget it’s a public city course and not a pristine country club. I have never encountered more condescending, rude public employees in my 15+ years of living in Lawrence. What a shame this course has come to.
Course was in good shape. For the price you pay youd think they put some ball washers out on the course. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place. Also golf card had no map to get any indication of the green layouts and in spots the course is not well marked on how to get to the next hole.
Friendly staff, course in good shape!!
Great layout challenges for golfers of all skills levels. Fun place to play.
Its always a good day if you can play golf at Eagle Bend golf course in January.
Just played here for the first time in 8 years.... What can I say? It was hands down the best golf experience I have had in the KC Metro area. The clubhouse staff was very warm and friendly! I was treated like a long lost friend by the staff. And the course... wow.. fantastic shape! I couldnt believe it actually. The fairways were perfect... greens were perfect... rough was in great shape...The City of Lawrence has a gem on its hands! I will be back!
Fun course. But employees are extremely rude. Especially Roy. Wouldn’t even give us the time of day.
Diiferent without all the old guys exerting authority, much nicer
It was great. But my GPS yardage didnt work.
Great course
Great course that is well maintained. Wide open on most holes.
Very nice course for a reasonable price. Never had any complaints about course conditions or pace of play. Its definitely my first choice in the Lawrence/Topeka area.
Well maintained... though a bit easy for a low handicapper. My handicap is a 3 and found it a bit to easy. You could play from pretty much anywhere on the course. Hit a block shot and that was ok just go hit it back to the right fairway.
Very pretty course with a very friendly staff. Pretty well priced. I suggest playing this course closer to fall. The trees are beautiful
Great time on my Birthday with my Pops!
Great golf with amazing practice facilities
Nice public course with a great practice facility. The course isnt the toughest but you can definitely find a decent amount of trouble if youre offline at all. Greens are quite fast.
Fun course
Good track. Not a long course. Greens are a bucket of fun trying to read.
Nature everywhere! Just challenging enough.
Really nice public course. usually in great shape. forgiving course. no twilight fees which is a bummer. one other little complaint is it seems every year they allow more and more fivesomes and sixomes, is that a word? this really slows play. if they re going to allow these kinds of groups they should at least inform them that they need to let people play through. i know its an extra green free or two for the course when they do this, but this will end up driving away more golfers than it makes in extra revenue. so it will be a long term loss for the course.
Since moving to Kansas Ive found to many courses that allow 5 to play together. On top of that, singles sprinkled around the course that could have been pared to help pace of play. This has kept me from playing several courses. Ive played all over and havent seen this.
Beautiful course and nice facilities but the patrons and staff were jerks.
I only got to play the back 9, but it was one of the nicest courses ive played. They paired me with 2 guys who work there, Bob and Jimmy, and they were great to golf with. The ONLY complaint was that there were 0 porta-pottys to be found in case nature called. Will play again when not in a rush.
Awesome course, one of my favorite in Kansas!
Best conditioned course in greater KC area.
Great golf course!
Course in good shape, green fees reasonable.
