Stopped in to see the retail/apparel one rainy day. Got the impression it’s only there to get you to spend more money while he’s working on your bike. Guy stopped everything to come babysit us while we looked and seemed very put out to do so.

Awesome time here. Lori and Rick will take time to talk to you about any problem you have. If you feel the fix is over your repair level. They are happy to do the repair. I have a Rocker arm gasket repair that is going to be needing to be done soon. I will have him do the work. I think he can do it better and heck of a lot faster than I. He said it was no biggie.

I went to Combs Custom Cycles yesterday to purchase a battery and battery tender. Lori could not have been more helpful. She explained the process to remove and install my new battery and made sure my warranty was registered, She also made the very helpful suggestion to change out the battery in my key fob which she handled. Thank you Lori for your great customer service.

Lori was quick to provide assistance for a new front tire for my Dyna Low Rider. She quoted me a price that was less than my closest dealer and suggested they could save me more $ if I brought the tire/wheel in myself. I arrived at the shop and she had someone come get the tire/wheel out of my trunk and had a new one mounted and balanced in less than 20 minutes. She even filed the factory rebate for me. I ended up saving $100 over what the dealer quoted me. I’ll be looking to them for service when the need arises.

First time looking for a bike shop in Lawrence. They were very rude over the phone, I called asking if they were willing to mount and balance tires on wheels, and the response in a condescending tone was first of all, we only work on Harleys. First and last experience with Combs. I dont care if you only work on Harleys, if you have enough work doing Harleys great! Having a niche market can be a great business model. But, perhaps be courteous to all potential customers, there was no indication given of what I ride nor interest. I wouldnt take my Harley here, if this is how first contact occurs I would hate to see how I and my bikes were treated once my bike was in their care. Perhaps they were having a bad morning, but if thats how they treat me on first contact, Id be concerned about my bike if they are having a bad day a bolt is seized. Ill be continuing to look into other shops, and if they dont pan out, Id drive to KC over taking my bikes here.EDIT: Replying to owners response: I never said it was not a Harley. You never asked if it was a Harley, and there definitely was no apology on your end. You stated you only work on Harleys. I stated that wasnt clear, and said thanks and ended the call based on my disinterest in doing further business with you.

Great place. They do top notch work and they stand by it. Lori and rick are the best! I will alway take my bikes to them.
