Very good choice in the normal-menu Chinese take out genre. Food was fresh and piping hot (temperature). If you’re a pepper head, order extra spicy. Right off the menu, the flavors are great but the spice is mild.
I have had my fair share of Chinese food and this is my new go to, in the Layton, Syracuse, Clearfield, Kaysville area. My 3 top reasons.1) Customer service. The staff was kind, professional and prompt. This includes the waiting and the time for the food. It was excellent!2) The food itself. Its later in the day and Im not feeling yucky. I ordered the orange chicken and the chicken lo mien. Cooked to perfection, tasted fantastic! Im excited to go back for some of their other dishes like Strawberry chicken. Their ham fries rice was delicious as well!3) Portion size for the price. The price for the lunch size was perfect. I ordered two dishes this time, not knowing how much food it was and two was too much.BONUS: Atmosphere. Light music playing in the background brought the experience together.Im excited to go back again.
This place has the best House Wonton Soup! So many good things in it. And their other dishes are divine as well! They are nice, and there is a drive-up window, which is so convenient. Great prices-Love it!
Made a family meal order online when it was delivered the portions were very small the chicken was mostly bread, also ordered the calamari and received no more than 5 pieces for $5 mostly bread. The food had no flavor unfortunately most of the food went to waste.
Absolutely delicious food. Made fresh to order and kind customer service. Exceeded my expectations!
Super close to my house and very good food. Always extremely fast and courteous service.
Super fast delivery. Staying at local hotel, and they delivered within 15minutes. Food was hot and fresh. Good sesame chicken. Chinese food is always hit and miss for me, most of this was pretty good. Didnt care for the egg rolls. Potstickers were deep fried and very good. Lo mein was good. Not too greasy. Huge portions for the price!
Never had much chinese but overall was very good. Service was amazing and was served within 15mins.
I love this place! We ordered there for delivery and they literally were ON IT. Had our food within a half hour. Amazing, and their son is a very mannered young man.
Convenient drive-thru, great prices, fast service, and delicious food!! I particularly like their egg rolls and fried rice. Favorite spot for sure!
We ordered the family feast last night. The portions were very generous. I especially loved the hot and sour soup! The orange, sesame and pom pom chicken were delicious! The pot stickers, egg rolls, and wontons were amazing! My son literally drank the sauce that came with it.
I ordered shrimp fried rice and pom pom chicken and 2 sushi rolls. There were I think 3 little shrimp in the rice; the pom pom chicken was so dry it could not be eaten and there was only a skiff of sauce. The sushi was the worst, I think gas station sushi would have tasted better and been safer to eat!.
This restaurant has been my favorite go-to Chinese food restaurant for over 6 years now. Not once have I had an unsatisfactory experience. Food tastes absolutely delicious, I especially love the sesame chicken combo and the 4 pc teriyaki sticks. The staff are very kind and inviting and I believe its a family ran restaurant. (PLEASE SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES) The food is very affordable for great quality and I always prepared in a timely manner. Anytime I have a special request (no veggies with lo-mein, add silverware, etc.), they always are willing to prepare it just how I ask and its always perfect. I like to order through door dash and Ive always have a great experience with that as well. The dinning area is always in good condition and is well maintained (before covid). Please eat here! Keep them in business!! ❤❤
Some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. The sweet and sour sauce was as runny as water and had very little flavor. The color of the egg drop soup was a light pink and looked very unappetizing so I didnt even attempt to eat it. I ordered 2 entrees and received one small container of white rice which wasnt even close enough to feed 2 people. The sesame chicken was cold and made from dark meat. I will not be going back there in my lifetime. I award them no points and may God have mercy on their souls!
Really great service and tasty food! Love the fried rice.
Fantastic food and big portions for a good price. We ordered orange chicken, Peking chicken, general tso chicken, and chicken chow mein. Everything was delicious and they even threw in a few extra items for free which was rad. Would certainly go back.
Such good food and quick delivery. They take extra care in packaging for delivery.
I ordered the Szechuan chicken combo lunch for a total of $11 including a15% tip. The restaurant was clean, service was friendly and fast and I enjoyed the food. The soup was served warm and was OK. It only contained thin wisps of egg. I added soy sauce to make it enjoyable. The main course was served hot with massive amounts of ham fried rice. The Szechuan flavoring was different than I was used to but still Ok. It was spicier than mild but not quite medium spicy. The most memorable part of the meal was the crab cheese wontons. These were absolutely fantastic. I also really enjoyed their sweet and sour sauce.I will come back and try another dish.
Always great and fast service. Lots of food.
Food was good. Was kind of hard to understand them since I have a hearing problem and the person on the phone had a heavy accent and was also talking rather fast. As usual with most Asian cuisine, I was given huge portions-enough for two. The food was nice and hot and the rice tasted fresh. Sometimes at Asian style restaurants, the rice will taste old and feel hard, so this was definitely a plus. Definitely going on the clean plate club.
Love this place. If you want great “American” Chinese food for a good price, this is the place to go.
The food is excellent and the service is exceptional!
Mushy fried low grade chicken, bland rice, and store bought frozen fried sides.🤮 no thnx
We love China Fortune! The wait staff is friendly, fast, and efficient. The food is delicious, served in stomach filling portion sizes, and you cant beat the price. Our favorites are the Orange Chicken and Beef & Broccoli. The sushi is solid as well. Definitely worth a visit.
Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Layton. Huge portions for a great price. Huge variety and its all delicious. Its a family run business and Ive had great interactions with many members of the family.Always fast service and they pack up to-go orders really well so there wont be any leaks. We get food here at least once a month. Absolutely love it.
I thought the 3rd time here would be a charm, now it’s time to give a review. Every time I’ve been here the food is cold and very little flavor. The pot stickers and cheese wontons were clearly microwaved. The lo mein is cheep spaghetti noodles. The “deep fried” anything is just store bought chicken that has some cheap sauce on it.The Mongolian beef is bland and not good at all. The hot and sour soup was the only thing that was warm. I’ve been too plenty of hole in the wall Chinese food restaurants. This one is definitely a hole in the wall and the quality of their food was terrible. Will not be returning, if I had four thumbs I would be giving this place 4 thumbs down.
China Fortune has become my favorite Chinese restaurant! The staff are so amazingly patient and kind and the food is always superb and fresh! I love listening as they speak in their native Mandarin language, its such an amazing language! These guys are the best of the best!!!
The food is always great! Their soup is delicious and not like most chinese places, and their service is excellent. Ive been going there for years with my family for special occasions or just for a regular time. 20/10 would recommend 😁😁
I placed an order for 3 people tonight using the door dash app. When it arrived to my home and once we all oped the food containers we first noticed the smell of the noodles were very fowl. The tiny spicy chicken had no flavor what so ever. The egg rolls were terrible as well, and the egg drop soup... only my son tried one bite just to see if it were as bad as everything else... and he said it tasted like salt water. None of the items were continued to be ate due to the fact the items had no flavor or look appeal what so ever. I am being honest here and going out of my way to leave this review because I normally dont leave reviews.... but I want everyone out there to take me very serious when saying that this was by far the worst Chinese food I have ever ate in my entire 46 years of being alive. I would not encourage anyone to go eat there or order out like I did. I tried calling this establishment only to hear it ring about a dozen times before someone seems to pick up the phone and immediately hang up on me on multiple attempts and consecutively which prevents me from addressing the issue with the owner of the establishment so he can either give me an explanation of why the food is prepared like that, or a refund and a promise to change their operational procedures when preparing everyones food in the future.I would not spend the money here, in fact I would go elsewhere and even pay more money to avoid coming here again.
China Fortune Restaurant has great customer service and surprisingly large portions. However, I would take *quality* over quantity any day.The lo mein was all grease, I ordered sesame chicken and it smelled like old grease. Taste of Sesame Chicken 4/10. Tast of Sweet and Sour Chicken 6/10. The cheese wantons and fortune cookie 10/10, chicken dumplings 6/10, and Godzilla Sushi 8/10 (however it was over-priced). I’m no professional food critic, but I won’t likely be visiting this restaurant ever again. Worst $40 ever spent on Chinese food.
Excellent location for quality chinese food. certainly worth a return visit. prices are decent. feels like a place in los angeles i loved.
This place was amazing! Went in with our big family and they were very kind, stayed on top of our drinks and we left with A LOT of food! Their portions are huge and their price is small. This is definitely a great little hidden gem. Highly recommend this place!
Ordered a Vegas roll for takeout. The moment I opened the container I knew something was wrong. The smell was off. The color of the tuna was off. All of it was soggy. Not fresh and crispy as a vegas roll usually is.I still decided to try one. That was a bad idea. It taste as bad as it smelled. Spit it into a paper towel and tossed the rest in the bin.
The meat on the sandwiches were flavorful, the brisket was by far superior.
This place is quaint and delicious, its a good deal for how much you get and tastes homemade. I saw a negative review on here that mentioned a kid that served the table as a bad thing, but Mason was adorable! He always kept our drinks filled and was super happy whenever he spoke to us (although sometimes he would get too excited and read the menu super fast, lol). All in all, my wife and I loved it. Definitely be returning whenever were in Layton.
The food was very bland and their dinners and combinations are so not worth the cost. I placed a large order and it was almost correct. More of a misunderstanding with the order. Not going to go here again. Also their menu prices are in accurate. On their To Go menu I saw the Jr meal was $3.75 but when I went it was $13 for two Jr meals. Price wise it wasnt a good deal. The chicken fried rice was tasteless with very little veggies in it, the egg drop soup was plain and tasted bland. The only thing we got that was decent was the cream cheese wonton and dumplings.
I was really hopeful this place would be good because of the good reviews Ive read and the portion sizes. However, the beef lo-mein, the fried rice and egg roll had incredibly little flavor. The fried wontons were good, but that was the only part of the meal that was decent. Im not a picky guy, but the food I received didnt meet even my minimum mark for quality. Its possible their other entrees are better, but I didnt experience this. I unfortunately will not be returning to give them another try.
Really good Chinese food 🥘 and really good prices. Love this places. Every time when I have chance to travel at Layton. I visit this place. I’m coming from SLC. 👍 💯 % recommended..!
This was our first time here, it was recommended to us by our daughter who says it a popular lunch stop for Northridge high goers. The food was delicious and cheep, and the decor was really nice. We had so much food left we got to let our boys at home eat some too. They door dash, so you can even get yummy, cheep Chinese on the go! The menu is really easy to read, and they asked us several time if we had any questions. It is tucked away, I didnt even know it was there, but this joint is worth the stop. We will be returning next time we want Chinese.
From the first moment you enter this place the stuff gives you a comfortable feeling. Very comfortable waiters, it is a lovely restaurant to pass time with your friends or with your date. tasty cuisine, professional chef de cuisine, honest price and professional service. Warmly recommended.
I love coming here with my family. Their food is delicious! We had Mason as our waiter, he’s such a sweet kid. Thank you Mason! 😊
We love this for delivery. The flavor can be hit and miss though. Good portion sizes. Good price. Nice family owned business but the food doesnt stand out above its competition. We will be loyal customers on days were craving Chinese and want it delivered- but wouldnt choose this over other competitors if dining in.
Speedy service! Great food! Great value! Excellent customer service! The delivery is always so fast. I highly recommend China Fortune!
We love this place! Great prices and good food. Haven’t tried the sushi, but I want too. The family meal deals are our favorite!
A $4 coupon was offered through GrubHub if we ordered from here. With the coupon and taxes the total was $24. After we paid online, the restaurant called us and said they wont honor the coupon and our charges would increase to $29. We called GrubHub to get the issue rectified and the restaurant got angry and then increased the charges to $35. I figure if they dont care about customers or customer service, they probably dont care about other things. Who know, hygeine? Cleanliness? Food safety?
Super tasty food for a low price point and delivery was fast and friendly! They gave us extra fried rice and fortune cookies too! Thank you so much, Im a fan! Happy lunar New year :)
You Chinese food and cuisine is to the persons taste The atmosphere is great at this location and my son and daughter-in-law love the food and our regular customers and it was nice to enjoy both my sons celebration of his birthday and mine at this location
We ordered sushi from them & it was absolutely delicious! Super fast delivery & the uncle was so friendly and sweet! Thanks for making my stay in Utah delightful, will definitely order again! :)
Ordered for the first time through uber eats. I was impressed at the portions, then I ate them and was completely disappointed. The general taos tasted like feet and flour, no flavor or spice, left a horrid taste in my mouth. The same can be said for the rice and low mein. What is weird is that is all looks like it will taste good, but its the worst Asian I have ever had. Panda express is cheaper and tastes wayyy better.
Love there combo meals! You get a lot for the price, and its not bad at all!
Great service, good flavor, and portion size! Jul I order takeout from these guys at least once or twice a month. The food is always hard and fresh tasting. The Service News great. The employees seem to really like it there. As a matter of fact, were eating to go from China Fortune tonight. Eating in is also good there. The tables are clean, the bathroom away smells good, and we always have a good time when we there. The prices are very reasonable. Personally, I recommend the sesame chicken and the cheese wonton.
Great food quick service
This place is top shelf! I ordered lunch to my work today (5.12.2017), and the first thing that impressed me was the driver. He has excellent customer service skills. Secondly was the portions of the food which they did not skimp on. Thirdly was the delicious quality of the food. So here are five stars for a happy and satisfied customer. :D
+huge portions. Cooked to order. The Mongolian beef was outstanding. We had snow peas added. Fried rice was good, although I prefer long grain. Alot of meat.
Great food for the price. I love the sweet and sour chicken. Always hot and fresh!! The eggrolls are delicious too. I had never had ham fried rice before this place and now Im hooked.
My wifes favorite
Our waiter was like 10 years old, he did an ok job, but it’s disturbing seeing a child work. I ordered Curry chicken, it tasted like water and chili paste. ZERO flavor. It was one of the worst tasting dishes I have ever had. My husband got the lemon chicken, it was also very bland and tasted watered down. One kid got the General’s shrimp and it was decent, and the other got a sushi roll which he said was good. We are just visiting and aren’t likely to return, I just want to warn others. Dishes are extremely overpriced for the extreme low quality. Oh and the men’s bathroom is packed full of boxes including in the handicap stall.
We spent $80 on take out and the king pao chicken wasn’t even flavorful- let alone spicy....everything tasted the same. Super bland and our shrimp lo mein was missing the shrimp 🍤 🙄 super disappointing
Great food and great service! The hot and sour soup was by far the most tasty I have ever had in my life. Everything tasted great :)
For the price you pay on a lunch combo, you get A LOT of food. I opted to upgrade the rice to noodles, and you get a big serving of noodles, a big serving of (in my case) chicken, an eggroll, a wonton, and a dish of egg drop soup. I cant give it 5 stars because everything was missing one thing in common, freshness. The chicken was so breaded, there was hardly any chicken inside. And the breading itself was very soggy. Something I would expect from microwaving leftovers. I came in for an early lunch hoping I would beat the rush and get the first fresh batch of food but unfortunately that was not the case.
We live near here for 9 years and tonight was the first time my wife and I went here. The food was great and plentiful. We will be back.
Ive been coming to China Fortune since it opened. Since I left New York, Ive been searching for good Chinese Food. Most places just dont reach the level of food Im used to. China Fortune comes the closest in Layton. I try every new restaurant that opens up in the area, but I keep coming back to China Fortune. The people are nice and try very hard to please me as a customer. I even have asked for special orders and theyve done just to make me happy. Are they the same quality that I left behind in New York? No, but they arent far from it either. Now that I am thinking about it, I feel like getting some of their wonderful food right now!
In search for a new Chinese restaurant since our favorite place in Bountiful closed. This restaurant has a hybrid of Sushi and Chinese cuisine and all of it is tasty and wonderful. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was DIVINE. Highly recommend.
I love love love this place! Their food is always made fresh and is super tasty. Great sushi at a very reasonable price. Friendly employees. Clean and comforting environment. I definitely recommend!
Been eating here for years and just great food with a wonderful staff. And not badly priced for the quantity of food you get which is big. I would always suggest that you get the combination so u can get more fore for the buck!
I ordered from DoorDash. they wrapped the boxes so they wouldnt spill. It was fresh. By far the BEST. Thank yo so much!
We love coming to China Fortune! Great food and great service.
Awesome place to get your fix of Asian food. The rolls are very good and they have a good variety while their main courses are very generous for the price and they taste heavenly. Service is fast and friendly and they open on Sundays which is almost a rarity here in Utah.
Quite a nice place would definitely come back. They were able to accommodate our party of 11 on short notice and the service was top notch. The food was tasty and everyone enjoyed their dishes.
Decor is nice, people friendly. Came on Christmas Day for dinner to get away from the kids and craziness... Owners son as adorable as he is had the TV blasting. So annoying to have the TV competing with 80 s ballads. And its freezing cold inside. Food was Ok. Coconut chicken didnt have coconut flavor or coconut on it. Didnt clear our soup bowls... Gave us the bill and to go boxes right after we started eating.
Ive been eating there since theyve opened. The food is always good. The service is quick and accurate. The price is fair. The amounts of food is great. Love the delivery and the hospitality of dining in.
Delicious food, great price, fast service. Cant go wrong with the sweet and sour chicken, ham fried rice, cheese wontons and egg rolls. YUM!
I always loved takeout/delivery from here and had my first sit-down experience yesterday. It was PHENOMENAL. Im always blown away by how fast the food comes out and its always top-notch.Do yourself a favor and get their Jr Orange Chicken special for $4 during lunch hours as you get more food for less $$$ than ANYWHERE ELSE EVER. Ive had several chinese food places that Ive really liked but this one has become my #1 favorite.
Quick service and super nice people. Very clean. Way inexpensive and it came with a ton of food, all of which was delicious! The most expensive sushi roll was like $12. No complaints here!
I ordered “coconut chicken,” and I kid you not, it was just the deep friend chicken bits with MAYONNAISE on top. No flavor, no coconut, just WARM mayonnaise. I’ve never been more grossed out. The soup and rice were bland, the wontons were cold even though we live 2 minutes away and got the food right away. Very disappointing.
This place has really great food for a very reasonable price. We order a lot of food and they always have it fresh and correct. They are nice that when we have a big order they find a box that everything fits in to make sure it doesnt get ruined. This is a local restaurant and when you visit or order to go they make sure to show you how much they appreciate the business.I would totally recomend trying them out.- Buy local, Eat local.
China Fortune is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Layton. The food has always been hot and ready to go when we do our takeout orders. Thank you for always making great food!
It was sorta weird. Friday night, and only two people sitting down to eat in there. No music, dark lights, sorta off putting. Food was OK, both of us got chicken and it didnt really look or taste fresh. Lots of food, but quality isnt exactly there.
Good experience. Tasty, but maybe a bit too prepared versus cooked on the order. Definitely more a take out and delivery restaurant on a Saturday night than dine in.
Good chinese, better than western chinese. Almost like china
Great food and prices! I especially love that they have a drive through. The staff is always super friendly.
Maybe a bit pricey, but good food, portions, and service.
Used to go here everyday at lunch and if you have 4$ you can get a good amount of amazing Chinese food. Recommend this place before any other Chinese food spot
Always friendly and courteous. Modest prices. Good food. Usually quiet (unless a party comes in), fast takeout.
Great food. Great service
Fast and friendly staff. Sweet and sour chicken pieces are large and fresh
Lemon chicken was tasteless. Sad since everything else has been so good.
Extremely overpriced with a long wait in a dead restaurant. The egg drop soup was delicious but the dumplings tasted as though they had been out for a few hours. The sushi was mediocre at best.
I ordered takeout the other day, and it was honestly some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The entree chicken was undoubtedly just microwaved. And the fried rice had these old, dried up chunks of ham in it. The egg drop soup was almost neon colored. Didn’t even attempt to eat it. I should’ve known it was too good to be true when there’s a $18 dinner for two special.
First time going here. Customer service was awesome, much better than Chinese kitchen off of 193. Food was good! Will come back
Really good food and portion sizes were HUGE! We got the family meal for two and it was enough to last us 3 meals! Cream cheese wontons were amazing!
I have been coming here for 5 years now. I have never had a complaint. There food is of the highest quality. If you enjoy Chinese cuisine this is a great place to go. They also have fantastic sushi.
The food is always fresh and the staff is friendly and prompt.
Very good food. The cream cheese wontons with sweet and sour sauce are great.
