One of the more clean and organized Toys R Us stores I have been to. All the staff I have encountered have been nice and knowledgeable about their products, store events, and store layout. I usually take my son here around his birthday time because I really like the kids birthday club program they offer.
Lots of toys at decent prices (on most items). Video game section looks like a ghost town. Looks like they havent sold a game in years? The whole building could use a face lift to look more fun and inviting. Feels more like a warehouse store, cold and uninviting. But if you need a toy and you cant wait for amazon, this is the place to check first.
Good store great employees. They always try to be helpful, the only problem I have is the state of repair the bathrooms are in. Could use some fixing up but otherwise a great store. They hold events periodically where the kids can participate in activities and get free toys and things to that affect. This is the only place I know of that does that sort of thing. Lets try to keep them going and show our appreciation for how much they care about our kids by getting off our computers and shopping in store.
Always a great place. Plus they got buy one get on 50% off for Christmas. And as usual they always got a better selection than the other big box stores. Lets not let these guys go out of business and show them we want them to stay around.
Normally, I love the associates in this store! They are always friendly and helpful. But, today I had the pleasure of talking with the manager; she was just a peach, and there was some obvious lack of communication going on between her and her employees. Wont be going back.
Love ToysRUs! The staff is always fun and nice and I can tell they love toys as much as the kids do!On THIS particular Saturday I am rating a 3 star, computers were running slow, credit card authorizations we not going through, and the checkout lines consequently grew! Felt bad for the cashiers!
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MANAGER! Exchange a broken item due to manufacturing 8 MONTHS after purchase without receipt-receive great customer service from a store employee. Try to do an EXCHANGE 3 WEEKS after return date on same item-broke again in same place-with a receipt that shows a purchase of a 2 year warranty and the manager calls me a liar. Says seasoned employee would have never done that. Paper trails dont lie! Instead of honoring what store employee stated (employee had written name on top of receipt) and avoiding hassle of dealing with warranty they get negative review. Obviously something could have been done or the original exchange without receipt wouldnt have happened. Thanks to the wonderful employee who helped me in July. To Toys R Us Corporate you need a new manager at this location. I even called 3 times to try and get her to work with me. All this over $125 item. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Would have received ZERO, but it wasnt an option.
Just went last minute Halloween costume shopping and even though there selection was small there prices are so cheap. The same costume I bought there for $15 I had just seen at other Halloween stores for $30+. and the Customer service was awesome the store manger I think she was gave my kids. some Lego blocks she had left over.
I went to the Layton Toys R Us a few weeks ago. Sadly I missed the survey they gave me, but I have to mention how awesome their employee Stephen is! He helped me a few times while I was there and could point things out. I had lost my debit card that day and he still helped make sure I got everything on layaway so I could still come get everything. Im sure I was a total pain customer and he didnt seem to mind at all. Instead he was friendly, courteous, and just extremely helpful! For being in such a customer service based job, he was beyond professional and just very understanding and kind. Not many places have employees that positive in the workplace.
Store is closing. Good deals. Weird stuff. Good service from employees even tho theyre out of a job.
Worst place to work. The assistant manager doesnt care about anyone but herself. If you dont make working there a priority, you get very minimum hours. Corporate isnt better either. I filed a report against the assistant manager, and nothing was done about it. They called the manager of the store and she lied her pants on to them. Such a crappie business. I highly suggest never working there.
We went here to buy a bunny that showed a cheap price of 15$ on their website. They found the bunny in the store and told us it was $30. The Bunnys were exactly the same and they promised they would match the online price. But they wouldnt do it because the item numbers on the Bunnys were different... Maybe there were stuffed with more expensive stuffing? Because they were the exact same size and look (from what I could see) as the other bunny. I dont understand why they couldnt match the price. Other than that I actually love Toys R Us. Good selection of toys, no lines, good deals.
Toys R Us is one of the last all toy stores. The young people who work there are super helpful and love their jobs.Live long my toy loving friends!
Great selections. Wish discounts for frequent shopper card would automatically come off when card is scanned at register instead of printing out.. needs to be more eco friendly.
High quality choice of selections for 16inch bikes with training wheels.Unbeatable price ranges. Very friendly and honestly staff.
Toys R Us as expected always has the biggest selection of toys which is just great however, walking through I cant help but notice that some of the items they have such as Legos for example are more expensive than anywhere else. I dont understand how one set could be $66 at Walmart, and $90 at Toys R Us. On the other hand they have a much bigger selection and their store is very well kept. Even with some of the higher prices it is still a fun store to take the kids.
Visited a week before Christmas. The place was a zoo. Crawling with people. The associates seamed to be doing a good job running around and helping as many people as they could. I was buying a bike and they only had the floor model left and it had a few minor cosmetic issues from being bounced around by kids everyday. Even with the flaws they were going to charge me an additional$10 because the bike was already assembled. I walked out and bought one off Amazon.
This being the only toy store for miles, we visit here and frequently spend 100-300 a weekend on toys and baby items. Overall a good store but after several shopping experiences with Aspen, not only will we not be back I will be retiring the $160 wort of toys I purchased for grand daughter last night. The sheer level of hostility combined with her complete apathy for customer service seemed in direct contradiction with any of the experiences and policies we have ever had with Toys R Us.
Walking into a toys r is is much like walking into your girlfriends house knowing your about to break up. At first when your about to go in there is hope, this is a place that is supposed to bring joy and make memories. But as soon as you walk in the atmosphere is super depressing and everything looks off. All these items that used to make you happy are now worthless to you and coated in dust. Then you finally see what you came for and its exactly what you expected. Nothing more nothing less. No excitement or energy except for the brief moment when you realize its 30% off due to the store closing sale. Then you leave feeling the opposite of nostalgia. Your depressed that this once elumptrious joy-filled place is now a home to sadness and depression, but at the same time your kind of glad its gone so you can move on and never experience that feeling again.
Great selection and variety. Had all the newest and coolest back to school stuff the kids couldnt go back without.
Sad they are going out of business. We love having our kid save up money and going and buying a tou from here. I dont understand why they are going out that seems crazy
Prices on the higher side unless you can catch a good sale. Service fair. Big store, lots of variety, nothing that really sets them apart any more.
Since Toys R Us id closing I was expecting better prices. Everything was 20% off but the prices were still equivalent to Walmart or Target. No real savings.
Takes PayPal at the cashier, which is nice. Staff doesnt always seem to know much about the products they sell, bit at least theyre nice.
The staff at this store was great. Very patient and understanding! Exactly what you want when dealing with kids!!!
Toys r us is always a great place to buy toys. They are usually less expensive than the W store and always have clearence stuff you never knew your kids or nieces/nephews needed. Plus you dont have to deal with going to the W store on a saturday. Everyone wins!
Ive never been a fan of this store. Everything is way overpriced. I recently decided to check out their going out of business sale, but the sale was a joke. Prices were barely even marked down. Still much higher than you can get just about anywhere else.
Im really going to miss them. Im still not going to grow up.
What a great place for kid and adult kid stuff. Busier then hell right now but quick lines and lots of goodness leftover to pick from !
I brought my nephew in here before, the staff were quite friendly great experience.
Watch your prices. They may not always be the lowest. Make sure you have a coupon to help keep your cost down. Products are good as far as my experience has went.
Most of the time there is poor customer service. If you call the store, chance are you will get someone who is too busy to help you, makes it sound like they only have one or two employees running the whole place. When you go into the store, most of the team members are friendly, just hope you dont have to deal with the management... They are unhelpful and pretty abrasive to deal with.
Good place to find games and other toys that are hard to find. Watch for prices in here but you can get some good deals for sures.
Great for hard to find toys, though you’ll pay more here than amazon or walmart.
Great selection of toys and games. Even a good selection of sports items and bikes.
Great Customer Service but, again I wish they would have more of the New In Demand toys in stock!
Its a toy store! They do try to make it as easy as it can be to find what you need.
Had a great experience today with associate Steve. Really wants to make the customers happy.
As always great for hard to find toys .I love going here with my kids I find myself wanting the toys as much as they do .
Its a toy store. With toys. To buy. Pricier than Amazon for sure but clean, well stocked and brightly lit.
They have all of the toys a kid could want. We enjoy the few Lego events that they have.
Pretty good customer service, though, they wont come to you, you gotta come to them for help
They say they are having a huge sale but if you look online at the normal sale price you will find out that nothing is on sale. They marked up a power wheel to $199 and have it on sale for 30% comes down to $157 and online the normal price is $152. Toys r us is scamming anyone who buys anything at their sale price. Make sure to look online before you buy!
Customer service lady was very unhelpful and lazy. I bought 2 Calico Critter sets, Deluxe Bathroom and Double Stroller set as part of the BOGO 40% which showed up on the price scanner throughout the store. After noticing the I wasn’t given the discount, I went back in to let them know. She took the receipt, looked at it and said the bathroom is not part of it handed me the receipt and left. Well clearly the signs posted, the price scanner and online state otherwise. Not pleasant at all.
Some of the staff are waaaay nice and helpful! And some are not very professional or anxious to help... overall good experiences here.
Good things. But dont make high prices
The store has been there for a long time. Its showing its age, they dont seem to put much into maintaining the building, floors, etc. It looks pretty dumpy sometimes.
Good store but I just dont get the nostalgia feeling of being a kid
Staff was helpful! Great products available! Lots of variety.
I used to love this store as a kid. Now it just always feels dirty and understaffed. I hate their checkout area. Its so small, cramped, and poorly designed. There will be 3 other customers in the entire store, and somehow each of you will get into each others way in the checkout area. its guaranteed.
I feel like it’s silly to rate a store that will be closing, but with my experience it be a 4 and it was almost a 3.First off I’d say I was surprised with the amount of product they had. It was a full store. Besides electronics it was full shelves. Now they have a sign and those retail tricks to get you in with that, “up to” thing. So the sign read “up to” 40% off. So I was curious what was marked 40%. Took me awhile to find some. The majority of the store is all 10-15% off. I’ll get to those in a few. So in my search I found fidget spinners, posters, birthday cards, gift wrap, and gift bags that were 40% off. Basically all the cheap stuff that is kinda handy, but not really toys. Fidget spinners aren’t the hot item anymore, but hey if you want some it’s the time to get them. They also had a few items marked for 30% First was Geoffrey the giraffe plush dolls. Can’t remember what else. Now back to the main thing... the TOYS! They have loads and loads of toys!! The problem is they are marked really high still so even with the discount some toys are still sold cheaper with Walmart and Target. I made that mistake today without checking the web while I was there. Also upset that this toy wasn’t even labeled. I tried to find the price from the shelf it was on, but I also didn’t ask the cashier whom probably would’ve told me the price. I mean TRU has always been somewhat expensive on some things. Which is probably why they are at this state now. Oh! Also building toys like LEGO and MegaBlox are 5% off... so for example there is a Elephant MegaBlox toy. At Target and Walmart it costs about $24. Toys R Us has it for $29 but with the discount it’s now about $27... hmm you can get that for much less elsewhere... or you could wait until the percent goes up in that area. So with the high prices don’t be running to buy most big names toys. The item I bought today was a talking Pikachu which I later found that Target, Best Buy, and Walmart sell for $20!!!! I spent too much on that freaking Pikachu! Oh well 🤷🏽♀️Anyway besides that there are many other items that are actually worth going there. I bought many baby utensils like plates, bowls, cups. They are somewhat a good deal depending on what you pick. I think that stuff as well as baby bath toys and accessories are worth it.Oh and Amiibo collectors... I guess early birds picked that area. All that is left is Paulentina and Mii fighters, oh and some Mario amiibo cards. I mean if you don’t have Paulentina I guess that’s a good buy? They have a lot of her. Games and movies I feel are still overpriced, but if you want go for it!I really wanted one of those small child’s couches, and there was one left. It just wasn’t worth the price though. I can overpay for a Pikachu, but not those small couches. The employees are nice, and some were annoyed. The cashier I got was really annoyed and very unenthusiastic. He was like Squidward if I was to describe his behavior. That’s about it. Hope you find some great dealsSad to see Toys R aid close.I’d have to say though the Murray location is my favorite, and the Layton store is gross.
Great selection, awesome prices. Friendly and helpful employees.
Grandkids loved their shopping spree!!! The service is great and the selection cannot be beat!!!
I went here to get a bicycle for my oldest son, 8 years old, because they were/still are having their going out of business sale and the sign on the outside said 30% off liquidation sale but inside it said up to 30% off selected items and of course boys bikes were not discounted at all. I never found an item in the store that was 30% off. On top of that they charged me another 10% for the assembly of the bike but did not have one I could buy in the box and build on my own. On top of all that I was charge 10% more for someone to make it look like it was assembled. I had to tighten every single nut, bolt, screw, and brakes assembly to make it rideable and safe. Which was so much easier(sarcastically) being that it didnt come with the instructions to let me know torque specifications. I gave it 4 stars because my 2 sons love ToysRUs, as do I, but I deducted a star because of the liquidator charging for every little thing, like half done bike assembly minus instructions when there were no other bikes in the box to buy, plus all sales are final. Its too bad they are going out of business because of stores like Wal-Mart selling less than equal quality goods for the same or slightly less than price as ToysRUs.
Great toy store! They rarely have sales or major discounts though.
THEY DONT STOCK GOOD FIGURES.They havent restocked popular toys like Star Wars Black Series and Transformers in months. Instead they keep trying to sell the peg holder action figures that you can find anywhere around town at slightly discounted prices. I dont think they understand the market and its sad that such a great toy store is so out of touch with a huge market. They dont restock because they have too much inventory of peg holders and they dont stock newer waves. And when they do restock its months later after they hype of a toy is passed. The newest Transformers movie is a good example as many of the popular toys didnt hit the shelves here until months after the movie came out at a time when kids have moved on to the new Star Wars movie. And now there are just a few of the same old SW action figure they ve had on the shelves from last year. This isnt how you sell toys. When I travel to other states and visit Toys R Us (which I do) they have much better selections on the shelf. Not in Salt Lake City and Sadly they closed the other Westside location.I also put a lot of items on Layaway and every time I go into this location the employees usually dont know how to take my payment nor on my last layaway order let me know very important details which shortened the length of the term by 2 months. Didnt find out until after the transaction. Please train your employees.
My kids loved coming here because it was a toy store not just a section of a store. However it seemed hard at times with the marked up prices.
Helpful employees and a great selection of stuff. A little more expensive place to buy toys.
It was well stocked this time of year (Nov). Well organized and intuitive layout.
Horrible customer service, we bought a bike for my daughters birthday and when we got home, opened the box and wrong bike. By the time we figured out it was the wrong bike we had unpacked everything and I figured wed put it together to make sure we didnt lose any pieces. The next day we drove the 45 minutes to take the bike back to the store and were met by a cashier that wanted to be helpful and a manager that couldnt care less. They exchanged the bike but wanted to charge us $10 to put the bike together. I kinda figured the fact that they had caused my daughter to cry on her birthday and the fact that I had put the bike together for them we deserved to have the bike assembled for free. Customers can be gained and lost when these types of things happen and unfortunately the lost a customer on this one. I will not be shopping at this store any longer due to the way they treated my family. A simple sorry and an assembled bike could have turned this experience around but the manager doesnt seem too interested in customer service.
Overpriced and the bathrooms were gross on all three of our visits. It is a kids paradise though. Lol
Goodbye TRU. Your selection was top notch, your prices were top too.
Love this store. Im gonna miss it.
Love this store. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable.
I love toysRus but they are going out of business. Not a big selection now.
A good place to get toys if you are in a hurry
Extremely over priced store. You can get the same product for half the price literally anywhere else. The store is dirty and it is hard to find what you are looking for. I seriously wonder how this location stays open. My consumer ratinf F
Love ToysRUs! So sad they are going out of business. Favorite place for Black Friday Shopping!!!
Sad its dying, but those sales sorta make me wish it would die faster..... Is that wrong of me to think? Porbably.
Overpriced toys. Target is in the same retail block and has better prices. Not sure how this store stays in business. Not very many customers.
Good selection but pricier than Wal-Mart or Target.
So sad theyre closing. Weve enjoyed this store for many years.
Sad its going out of buisness. I have fond memories of going there with my dad.
Definitely one on the worse Toys R Us Ive been to. This place is not very clean, toys are barley stocked, and Ive only seen one nice person working here.
Way better than Wal-Mart. Emplyees were very knowledgeable and prices were better than Wal-Mart as well
Toys are Over price.Exact Same toys 2 or 3 dollars less at Walmart.
Good place to go if you want toys.
Great deals.. wish there was 1 closer.
Nice wish was a bit bigger and more boy toys.
Stayed about the same quality over last few years
I was Christmas shopping with my friend and her daughters. They had to go to the bathroom and came out embarrassed saying it was too gross dirty. We ran the little girls over to the target instead.
Was a great toy store, to bad there closing all there stores
Good toy store. Fun to go and walk around. Only thing is some things are over priced!!!
Horrible Horrible customer service!!! When a manager tells you I can help you but wont, you know you have a customer service problem. She then proceeded to tell me she didnt care if anyone shopped there. She doesnt want to have customers, I guess she gets what she wants by being extremely rude! Never shopping here again!! They just lost thousand dollars a year I have 5 kids.
Toys toys toys do I need to say more on why I love this place
Best amiibo selection I have ever seen!
Helpful, friendly staff. The store feels clean, which is sometimes hard for a toy store.
Its not what it once was and that saddens me. I wish it were the same
Awesome customer service, personalized attention from the service employees, plentiful stock, and an overall organized store.
Great place too find the perfect gift.
Great sales since there going out of business but not very good selection since they are not restocking.
Sad your closing down. Love all the people here
Always have what Im looking for in stock!
Thus was an amazing place to shop. Sad to see it go.
Legos are more expensive here than anywhere else and you have to leave a blood and fingerprint sample to return something even with a receipt! There arent many stores that I would like to see go under due to online purchasing but toysrus is at the top of that list!
Went in to look for Pj Mask toys because they are going out of business. The sign said 30 % off but everything in store is only marked down 10%..I was told by employee they should be officially closed by mid-May.
Closing their doors. Pricey normally, but you come for their variety, not prices.
