I went here last week to ship an old PC to a friend whose PC had died. The total cost of the parts involved? Barely $150 at todays prices since this is an older computer. The case is a mid-tower roughly measuring 17 x 8.25 X 19.I have worked for a UPS Store before for years and know how to properly pack all kinds of stuff. I was even a Certified Packing Expert at one point. As soon as the employees at this location see the computer they tell me that they have to fragile to pack it (no, they dont), had to declare its value, (which I declared was $0) and they preceded to tell me that they were going to wrap it in bubble wrap. This is a fantastic way to destroy something fragile. Which this computer isnt. All this is going to do is transmit any forces it experiences during shipping directly to the case, or item and damage it.I ask if I can just put foam packing corners on the corners case and stick it in a box that itll fit in. This is what I have done for years shipping computers and never once was there an issue. As long as the computer is secure inside the box and cannot slide around any forces it experiences during shipping are transmitted along the edges of the computer case and the box and since this the strongest part of the case and the shipping box. Additionally, since there is a void along the walls of the box this allows the box walls to flex slightly without transmitting force to the computer. Can a computer still be damaged when shipped like this? Yes. Anything can be damaged when shipping. Is it likely? In my experience, no. Is it something I was willing to risk an old computer I was going to be gifting to a friend? Yes. The staff here didn’t even give me that option.I know UPS Stores should round up a bit just make sure they cover any costs because if there are any mistakes with the quote they eat the cost from UPS because they are a franchise and not actually UPS. I get that and I’m okay with that. What I’m not okay with is just blatant overcharging. This package should cost around ~$60-$70 or so for shipping, and according to the quote I got from UPS directly with rounding up the size for the box, shipping a 19” x 11” x 21” package that weighs 21lbs (Which they rounded to 27lbs…) is $61.05. They wanted to charge me $166.10 for shipping in 31” x 31” x 18” box + $80 for fragile packing. I don’t mind paying for packaging materials and service, but $80 for bubble wrap and an insanely oversized box, No.I will not be returning here.
Don’t ever go here. They are real rip off. Staff are rude. They are exploiting situation. There many nearby UPS that so nice.
I usually use this location, super convenient. Matt always willing to help and finding good solutions.
EXTREMELY RUDE pickup guy. Thanks to my doorbell video, I have captured some wonderful videos of his not-so-nice comments. I’m glad you guys think so ‘highly’ of your customers.
Sent a package 5/7, today is 5/18 and it was never delivered. I have never experienced this with FedEx. Never using this store again. And the representative at this location was rude!
Fast and friendly team. Package drop offs, Amazon returns, getting a form notarized, they can do it all!
They were absolutely amazing and patient with us. We needed to have some papers notarized and they worked with us to get it all done today. Tim and the manager, Im ashamed I cant remember his name, were the best and I couldnt have asked for better service! Every single member of the staff was awesome!
Went to drop off an Amazon return yesterday. I had the box ready to go except for one end in case I needed to insert any paperwork. The man at the store told me that he would not accept the box open and would not give me 30 inches of tape to close it. He did offer to sell me a roll however. He was right in that the box was supposed to be ready to ship... but being too cheap to offer $0.005 worth of tape to a customer is enough for me to take my business elsewhere from now on.
The notary was very efficient. The guy in the front was also very helpful. They were all very friendly.
Quick service, very polite
When we first rented a box here, it was great! Then it was sold to new owners. The last several weeks they have had only one person on staff at a time so there is usually a line and usually a 10-15 minute wait. The employees are friendly and most of them are fast, but even the best employee can only work so fast. If they would staff 2 people it would be much better.UPDATE: 1/30/19. Had given 3 stars for reasons above, but in the last 2 months they have had proper staff and the waits are short so I changed the review to 5 stars.
Good customer service skills but they are severely overpriced! I wanted to send a small box no more than seven pounds to my boyfriend in Russia. They said it would be $365! Ok fair enough it’s a long ride to get there, the guy was intent I wouldn’t find it cheaper anywhere else. However I went around the corner and the USPS sent it to the same location for me...for $65!! Glad I looked at other options first:D
I use this UPS Store for my business. I normally don’t write a yelp review but the customer service has gone extremely down. There are two employees but only one person is at the register. The line is out the door but the other employee just does not get up to help and is just sitting at the desk. You would think that the management’s priority would be to help the customer to reduce close contact. I have had to wait 15- 20 mins just to get help because only one person is helping everyone.
Rude stat and overcharge
I ordered a 1 page Black and White to be printed at this store using the Same Day option online. A few hours later when we went to pick up this address label and mail the package they informed me they would not be printing it until tomorrow since they have 24 hours. The person at the store told me that the email confirmation I got should say what the completion date is, it does not. He told me my card has not been charged yet, Im looking at the charge on my account. I have the order number and he wouldnt bring it up and spend the 30 seconds to print this 1 page address label.I called the 1-800 number to cancel the order, she agreed that it was just a 1 page B&W and shouldnt be a big deal, they called him, he wont cancel it.The store was not busy. There was no one else there. The printer was not going. If the story had been We have a huge order, the printer will be going for hours and I cant stop it, Im so sorry that would be completely different. Im not unreasonable. But it was We have until tomorrow to do it, therefore we wont do it until tomorrow despite the promise of Same Day service.I work from home and have to print and ship things often but I will continue driving further to FedEx where they dont act like Im being unreasonable for wanting what I paid for.Update: I had originally given the store a 2 star review but due to their rude reply I am dropping it to 1 star. They clearly wont accept responsibility for anything that goes wrong. I will never be using this location again.
They are very good, taking care the customer, helpful workers.
I just come here for free returns and have always had a smooth experience. The tall lady with the piercing is always nice.
The employees here are awesome. I had a bunch of document to be notarized and they were very patient in getting everything done properly. Unfortunately, We had to throw away all the documents and redo it again because of my mistake but they had no problem doing it all over again. Not a frown. Keep it up guys.
Went to get a paper notarized, and this bold white dude was extremely racist, just by looking at us, and without looking at papers, he started to lecture me about Texas Law and how he cannot notarize our papers without even knowing what I was asking him to notarize (my signatures), then he added I cant give you any Legal advice, though I never asked for any advice from him. I didnt even open my mouth much, just ask can you notarize our signatures and he goes, No, we cannot according to the Texas Law... total BS, will never come back here again, and he referred that this is the NEW OWNERs policy! wish i wasnt brought up as nice, as i would have said lots of bad words, but i cant, my mother didnt raise me this way...
Ive been to this location before and always had professional courteous service. Ill go back but only because its convenient. Dont go in there this morning though the guy in there is mad at the world. Im not sure if Ive ever had such terrible customer service, anywhere!
Ive been shopping here every other day or so for 5 years with very few issues but i came in today and they have a new lady working there for 2 months that was very rude. im holding very heavy packages and i had to leave with the packages in my hand because she wouldnt let me set them down at the counter and wanted me to take them to the very back of line. I wont be back now.
Excellent locally owned and operated UPS Store that has had friendly quick service every time Ive gone in there. The owner Norma is very friendly and helpful. Just to exemplify their friendly service that goes above and beyond, on a Friday, I needed to receive an important fax that I was waiting on to be sent and even though I explained to her it would take a little longer and I could come back another time Norma offered to stay open past closing time so I could receive it. I highly recommend this place, if there were 6 stars it would earn it.
Returning went okay, but the gentleman who helped me was very insistent on making sure I knew I could have just done the return at home. I informed him I was bringing it to the store because my phone wouldnt scan the return label, no matter how many times I tried. He then asked if I used my cell phone. Indeed, I had. (Otherwise I wouldnt have driven 35 minutes to the closest store and would have done the return from my home.) He seemed to be annoyed that I needed assistance and didnt do it myself, at home. Not deducting from the overall score because the process was fast, but it was a bit of an odd social interaction. Must have just caught him at a bad time.
After having a terrible day getting the slips ready to be sent away the AMAZING lady that was here today brightened my day. Her attitude was so positive that I couldnt help but to have my day brightened. She made everything so easy and hassle free. Now any and all UPS needs I will go DIRECTLY here
They make up their own policies which do not match if you go to another UPS store!!
The employees here are super helpful and really friendly.
The manager was very patient and helpful. I’ll definitely visit here again!
This store is great. Saved me money and time. Will definitely be returning in the future.
This is the best UPS Store Ive ever been!! Norma, one of the owners, was very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place.
A very friendly and helpful atmosphere. The only place I go when I have a package to ship by UPS. Highly recommend!
I will NEVER ship anything via UPS again! Especially this location! On 25 April 2018 my husband went to this location to ship my laptop in for repairs. I had packaged it in the original box it came in with two layers of bubble wrap. The employee he spoke with told him the UPS policy for laptops is that they would have to repackage it. So trusting that they would do a good job he paid and left leaving USP to repackage it. Then he got home and gave me the receipt. For a whopping $173.21! Wait, WHAT?So I called this location to find out exactly what our $173.21 bought. The employee that answered the phone told me that the UPS policy for shipping electronics was to place my already packaged box into a ginormous 24x24x16 box with additional bubble wrap. I told him absolutely not and I would be back to pick it up and go somewhere else.So heres the breakdown of the cost.1) one 24x24x16 box (see pic) $18.98 (yes, you read correctly. $18.98 for ONE plain, thin cardboard box!)2) one small bundle of clearly previously used bubble wrap and air pillows $13.85 (We could have bought a 50 roll at walmart for $15!)3) shipping charge $18.524) $2000 worth of insurance $119.15So we went to the FedEx on Whitestone to mail it. The employee at FedEx was just as incredulous as we were about the exorbitant price. We chose to exchange/repackage my box with a laptop box that FedEx sells. It comes with a nice thick foam padding.Heres the FedEx cost breakdown1) one laptop box with foam inserts $152) $2000 worth of insurance PLUS shipping cost $45 for a grand total of. . . Wait for it!$60TOTAL!!!UPS you are ripping off your customers!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~RE UPS replyNo maam. No one at your store offered to rewrap our laptop in a laptop shipping box. A box specifically for a laptop wasnt even mentioned.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~RE Caytes replyYES maam and I have the video to prove it! And look at the pictures. This huge box is what your employee had placed my already boxed up laptop in. Along with all the bubble wrap and other junk in the other pics. But that still doesnt account for your outrageous price for the same $2000 insurance amount. Your price $119, FedEx, $45 (which includes shipping cost). Look at my receipts for comparison. How can you justify that?
Printing was fast and cheap, and costumer service was amazing and very helpful!!! 10/10 I rate!!!
Just had a great experience at this UPS! The lady was super friendly and helpful!!! I will use this one from now on!
Google has the drop pin wrong, this location is actually at the corner of Lakeline and Crystal Falls Parkway. It is a great location, the people are very friendly and helpful.
MAKE YOUR HOURS ON SATURDAY LONGER!! YOU CLOSE AT 5:00 ALL OF MY PACKAGES COME AFTER 5!!!! DONT GO HERE
Got in at a slow time, was able to get my paper notarized. Then out in just a few minutes, cheaper then other notaries.
Went there to get a document notaries 2 minute before closing Very friendly, take their time to make sure everything was correct. 👍👍👍👍👍
Needed to ship something this morning, showed up at 8:32am, still closed! Hours on the door say 8am, web says 8am too!
Norma and her husband that operate this location are the best!!
Couldnt even answer the phone.
Service went down hill since new owner took over.
