Aftermath: I will be updating my comments after a manager calls me back. I have had subpar service shortly after we purchased a car. I are getting the run around and feel that promises are not being fulfilled. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER at this point😑!!!!We bought our daughter a car and had the best experience with Dan P. He was patient and so willing to meet our needs. Customer Service and engagement was definitely achieved with our family. Good reliable cars with a strong brand. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They sold us a car with a VIN number that didn’t match the paperwork. It has been two months later and they still have not resolved it. The car is still not registered in Maryland and I have to call an attorney to straighten this out. Ross and Eddie are the worst!

To start, know that my wife and I are big believers in both the value and quality of buying previous rental cars from Hertz; weve purchased a total of six vehicles over the last 20 years from them at three locations (NM, MI, VA), the most recent of which was two weeks ago from the Leesburg, VA store.While there are positives about the experience that could be listed, as well as some minor negatives (like the poor upkeep of the facility), Ill focus on the few major issues that made this one of the two worst car buying experiences of my life:1. They were short-staffed (which is excusable) but the customers were made to feel as if that was their fault or as if they were an inconvenience. Customers were made to wait even longer because the few staff on site a) took a long smoke break together, and b) talked to their family on the phone instead of helping.2. When I was contacted a few days after the purchase by the salesperson, I was coached on how to answer the customer satisfaction survey that would be arriving via email. I was told to give the experience all 9s (the highest mark), because 8s were really like zeroes. And I was told to do this because my salesperson had an extra week of paid vacation riding on his scores. In short - exceedingly unprofessional behavior.3. We purchased the car dirty, with a couple dings, and a broken mirror with the written promise that Hertz was take care of it all after the fact. Long story short, it took 13 days, not the promised three, to get the mirror piece replaced, and likely wouldnt have happened at all, had I not taken the initiative to call them repeatedly. And the detail work - vacuuming, dings, wash, wax - were never done. But at this point Im just giving up, and am glad to be done with them.To summarize, we will certainly purchase more vehicles from Hertz, just not from this location. If you live in northern VA, our advice is that its worth the drive to Springfield or Richmond to avoid these headaches.

Ive bought 2 cars from Hertz in Leesburg and have been thoroughly impressed by the quality of the cars and the service of the Hertz car salesmen both times.Most recently, Eddie helped me buy a Kia Optima on 1/11/19. He went out of his way and the managers went above and beyond to make sure I was able to leave with my new vehicle on the same day.Both Eddie and the management staff were accommodating, helpful, friendly and most importantly TRUSTWORTHY throughout the entire experience. When I mentioned that I would like to know more about the interior of the car we were considering, he volunteered to take pictures and video for me, which he sent promptly. Once we arrived at the dealership, the buying experience was sstructured, quick and pleasant. The staff was courteous and friendly. I would strongly recommend this dealership.

I worked with Wally Watkins, and he did such an incredible job. I showed up to the shop with absolutely nothing ready (loans, registration, insurance, etc.), and Wally spent about three weeks working with me through all of this. I chose a car the first day, and thanks to Wally I drove out of the lot a few weeks later despite having nothing ready at the start. He was very patient and thorough during the entire process. Very grateful!

DONT BUY A CAR HERE!!!! Absolutely the worst car buying experience of my life. Not only will I never go to this dealer again Ill never buy a car in the state of Virginia. The deal looks great until you find out they charge you $800 to do the paper work. Their service Dept. is horrible! The car was dirty inside, The rear arm rest was stuck in the up position from all the soda that had been spilled in it, The windshield wipers were shot, And the brakes were terrible. All this after the car was supposed to have been serviced and ready to sell. Who knows what else they didnt do. Management was an absolute nightmare no one there knew what they were doing. The whole dealership is one big joke.STAY AWAY!!! Buy a car anywhere but here!!!!!!!

Worst customer service ever. Don’t buy your car here. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The sales guy Tom was the worst. We went there at 11:00am. Around 2:00pm, after we picked our car and paid for it, yes AFTER PAYING, they asked us to come back at 4:30 citing busier day and that they needed time to prep and detail the car. We came back later to find out the car wasn’t ready. Tom left for the day after he took our money. The detailer had left the shop before working on our car. No stickers were removed from the car. It wasn’t washed or cleaned. And no floor mats were given to us. They took 1 full hour to fix the registration plates to the car. All this AFTER COLLECTING MONEY and AFTER ASKING US COME BACK LATER. They closed the shop at 6:00pm and we were left with a dirty, unwashed, no-mats car to drive back home. When I talked to the manager, his response was β€œwhy didn’t I tell me all this as it was happening”. REALLY! HE WAS PROCESSING ALL MY PAPERWORK AND KNEW EVERYTHING. My response to the manager: STOP THE LIES. Why don’t you FIRE TOM as he COLLECTED MONEY and disappeared on us. WHY DON’T YOU OWN UP THE SCREW-UP AND TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE BETTER OR FIRE THEM. This is the worst place to buy a car. I recommend the ENTERPRISE CAR SALES in Rockville, MD. They are great and I bought a car from them 2 weeks before this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT HERTZ.

Bought a $27K Audi here. Was told that it was a lux rental so not to worry. Huge mistake. I’ve taken it in for service now 3 times in a six month period. DO NOT buy a luxury rental. It was ragged out. I had to get the transmission worked on. Unreal. There was damage underneath that wasn’t pointed out. I regret my purchase.

You get what you pay for. The cars are cheap but the sales department is unprofessional at best. Management and the financing are even worse.The person who handles their financing was rude and condescending. I didnt answer the phone a second time. Expect long wait times and an inability to produce quality basic documents in a timely manner (like state inspection certificates). I waited two hours just to pick up my car.Ive caught them fudging their records by asking the shop not to inspect certain areas of the car. Its sad because the issue is actually easily fixable, they just dont want/cant lower their prices . If you wait, the car prices will actually decrease because they need to make the sales.However, if you are like me and were desperate for a cheap newer car, Hertz car sales is a decent place to go. Just be careful and manage your expectations.

I had rented car from this location so many times past couple of month because my car accident and insurance company keep sending me to dulles airport Hertz, I said, NOPE. I bought a car from here about a couple months ago. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. They sold me a car with a battery that didn’t belong to the car. I had no idea because it seem to run fine. Then it just stopped everything. Couldn’t even jump it and the car is two years old. I look at the battery and lookEd it up and it doesn’t even belong to this car. I let them know and they refused to do anything about it. The Vehicle I purchased requires a battery of 600CCA and the battery that was in the car only had 410CCA. I obviously had no idea about the battery until it just wouldn’t work and I tried to find a new one. Then I learned from Autozone that this battery,(410CCA) was not only not for the car but the brand was β€œRocket” which no store in this area sells for cars. Again I wouldn’t recommend buying from them. They argued me down over a less than 200 dollar replacement. Goes to show you people only care about money not who they scam.

Do not buy a car from this dealership. My husband and I bought a car from Hertz Car Sales in Leesburg in late September. After we signed the papers, they explained that they didnt have the registration there since it used to be a rental car. We VERY WARILY left with no title and no registration (!!!!) We feared we had bought a stolen car. They promised to fed-ex us the paperwork since their printers were down. We did not receive tags and title until late December (6 days before the tags would expire). In order to even get our registration and tags from them, it came to the point that we emailed the manager of sales Rico Caldwell EVERY DAY until he responded (which usually took several days). Finally, after we hounded him regularly and explained that if they did not rush our tags to us, we would be driving a car without legal tags (the registration was going to expire), they got us our tags from Oklahoma (the explanation we got every time when we asked why it was taking this much time was that the sales manager was waiting to hear from Oklahoma. We also often got passed off to a brand new salesman when we contacted the manager looking for answers. Although the salesman was very kind, the manager rarely communicated directly with us, as if we were a great nuisance to him. We were also asked to have the car inspected (which we paid for) without the registration. When we ran into problems with this, the sales manager, Rico, said he does it all the time. He encouraged us to just take it to a place and not mention that we had just bought it. We did this out of desperation - maybe we were reading about it incorrectly and it is legal, but either way, he was quite angry with us when we had questions and treated us extremely rudely.Overall, we had a TERRIBLE experience with this dealership and encourage no one to buy from them.

I asked the salesman if they had a car in stock, Yep, its right here on the lot I tell the salesman I am driving to look at it and its going to take me an hour, OK ask for me when you get here. Its definitely not the same as some 5 star dealership experience, and you wont find a coffee bar or manicure station while you wait, but the prices are great! We bought a 2015 Kia Sedona and absolutely love it! Make sure you know what you want and you should be fine.

Hertz was the first place to offer me a affordable down payment after weeks of searching. The first time I went in I was interested in a Jeep Compass and Andrew was very helpful. The second time I went in, Eddie, who was taking over where Andrew and I had left off, was now helping me but now I was interested in either a Hyundai Sonata or Nissan Altima. I want to mention that Eddie seems like a genuinely good person and is very nice, and when I wasnt being rushed, we had fun conversations. As soon as I walked in the door, Eddie came out and said we dont have a lot of time and then we zipped around the parking lot to a Kia Optima which he said is the same thing as a Altima. I told him I really didnt like the color and wanted to see the Altima (they didnt have any Sonatas). We then race back inside so he can grab car keys. He hands me the Optima keys and tells me to go sit in it to see how I feel while he grabs the Altima. A few seconds after we parted ways, I brought up test driving the cars. I kid you not, he said thats the last thing we do once I picked what car I want. To humor him I sat in the Optima, he then pulls in with the Altima and I take it for a test drive. I was pretty much in love with it immediately. So I really didnt need to test drive any others, but if I wanted to, I truly felt like it wouldnt of been a option. We come back, go inside, sit down and begin the process. He hands me a form to sign about the test drive, being this is my first time buying a car, I wanted to read what it said. 10 seconds into reading it he says oh please tell me youre not going to read the contract like that. I said I will if I feel like I need to, this is my first time buying a car. He said hes bought 20 cars and forgot what its like the first time. He then tells me that he is supposed to be meeting his wife at 8:00 to have dinner with friends. It is 7:20 at this time, and they dont close until 8:00. He is then running around trying to get things done which made me feel even more rushed. About 15 minutes into comparing insurance quotes, he says to take the time after I leave to get the best quote, there is no rush to get it done now. I say but dont I need insurance before I can leave? And he said that he thought the inspection had been done but it hadnt so it would have to be done in the morning. MAJOR BUMMER, I was car-less and using Uber to get around. Money was really tight and having to spend another $30 on Uber really sucked. But it is what it is. Eddie offered to pick me up in the morning to take me to the inspection place to get my car then to Hertz to finalize everything, which I really appreciated. While I was doing the paperwork with Andrew, Eddie said he was going to go get the car ready. Him and Andrew did everything they could to get me out to door because I had to go to work. But I didnt know that meant sacrificing getting my car detailed and remanents of tape being left on the window. It looks horrible! My breaks are squeaking, my tires probably barely passed inspection, windshield wipers are horrible, battery looks 100 years old and the oil is almost gone. My husband could not believe I received the car in the condition it was in.A business development employee had reached out to me in the very beginning when I had inquired about the Jeep Compass. She was awesome and extremely helpful. I sent her a picture on the drive to work the morning I bought the car and she seemed genuinely excited for me. She asked me to write a review and I said I gladly would. Overall I was happy with my new car and finding a dealership with lenders that didnt want an astronomical amount for the down payment. But I told her that there were some things that I was pretty unhappy about and wanted to let someone know. She said she was there for me and I could tell her so the next day I wrote her a email about my experience and never heard back. I sent the email June 30th and it is now July 11th. So not only was my first car buying experience rushed, but my complaints were brushed off and no one felt the need to apologize

Asked to rent a car and they tried to provide phone number with a different area code other than my area code. I explained I was located in leesburg, fl and that area code is not in my area. Went to write the phone number down and the guy was very rude and hung up on me. Called back to talk to a manager and the same gentleman hung up on me. Called back and talked to another gentleman that was also rude and said youre not getting s manager because you just want to complain and you are impeding our ability to make money. Rent to buy is broken. They can never find the car and corporate customer service doesnt seem to care. The actual certified cars are really banged up, its no wonder the prices are so low. And the one I decided to test drive shook at 65 - 70 mph on the highway. Yet it was certified. Im going to try Avis this Friday to see if they are any better and would like my business. It also did not feel great to be left standing in the middle of Hertz and not acknowledged. This time I was searching for a new car, but in the future if I ever need to rent a car I will be sure to use Avis or Enterprise.

My wife and I bought a car from here in July. While the car buying process itself was OK overall, I was appalled by their lack of resposiveness after we bought the car. Ever after 2 months after we bought the car, we hadnt received the title. I e-mailed the sales rep we worked with twice, and called the manager once. Neither of them got back to us! Though we finally received the title (the title company they worked with mailed it to us), and everything is OK now, Im giving them a mediocre review for not paying attention to such an important matter as the title.

I bought a car this past Monday. I had gone in to do test drives on Saturday, then I went back in on Monday to buy.My sales person, Wally Watkins was awesome. It was the least pressure I have EVER felt in a car buying situation. On Monday, Wally had the car all gassed up and ready for me to take the vehicle for an appointment with MY MECHANIC. During this time, I also had a CarFax report run to be sure that the cars history was clean. It was, so I brought my father back with me, to have him cosign on the car, thereby qualifying for the lowest interest rate on financing. Then came the rub...The FINANCE GUY was rude, condescending, and extremely slow. My father has PERFECT credit and he was guaranteeing my loan. Even so, the finance guy told me that if MY name was on the car AT ALL, he could only get me an interest rate of 9.9%, not the 3.9% their online payment calculator defaults to (for those with perfect credit). He went on to say that, Since I was only financing $10,000.00, the monthly difference in my payment was only $20.00.I am sorry, but $10,000.00 is a lot of money, to ME & that $20.00 monthly difference is $1,200.00 over the life of the loan. My father was more than annoyed with the finance guy. So much so, that we almost left. The finance guy went back to his office to TRY to find a loan at 3.9% for my father. He stayed in his office for over an hour.During the time we were waiting for a suitable loan, the Manager there transferred my tags & registration from my old car to the new car I was buying. That saved me a trip to the DMV, which I am thankful for. By the time, the finance guy found a suitable loan for us, my new car was waiting for me with tags on. We just hopped in and left. All in all, here is my advice:1. Look at their inventory online. I went in with a list of stock numbers to check out in person.2. Ask to work with Wally Watkins. He is the sales person I worked with. He is extremely personable. NO pressure and lots of help.3. Make sure that during your test drive, you get the vehicle up to 65-70mph. The 1st car that I test drove started vibrating at those speeds.4. Take the vehicle that you decide upon to an independent mechanic to get it up on a lift to look it over. That will probably cost you about $100 WELL SPENT.5. Get a CarFax report done to be 100% sure the vehicle has a clean record.6. Dont let their rude & condescending finance guy push you around. Stand your ground OR find your own financing.

This is a Hertz Car Sales location, and I have to say my experience with them has been nothing but terrible. Do not ever use the rent-to-buy option if you are in need of a vehicle. Their prices are some of the lowest in the market, but the uncertainty as to whether youll ever actually see the vehicle does not make up for it.My husband and I selected a 2015 Nissan Rogue as a rent-to-buy car. We were supposed to have the car available by 1 September. Since rene-to-buy vehicles are still part of the active rental fleet, Hertz does say the vehicle could be ready on or about that date depending on when its returned, cleaned, inspected, etc. I can understand that date flexing a day or two, thats reasonable. However, by September 9th they still dont know where the car is or when it might be ready. To me, waiting more than a week for the car is unacceptable, and just shows that they do not value my business. If we were to select a different vehicle, we would start this whole process all over again.I asked if they would be willing to do anything to remedy the situation. I had identified a car in their Richmond location that was Hertz Certified (ie: already on the lot and ready to buy), and would they consider driving it up to Leesburg for me? The response? We do not transport cars to alternate locations. I asked if they would prefer that I walk away from a sale entirely and lose my business rather than try to remedy the situation. The response? We do not transport cars to alternate locations. Furious doesnt even begin to describe.Save your time and energy and avoid working with a sales team that clearly cant be bothered.
