This location has a PROBLEM... I frequent salad bars in Lenexa and Olathe. The cleanliness, presentation, and freshness of the salad bar is the BEST around. The PROBLEM this location has is what else it can do to make it better. Keep up the good work!

Marissa or Malissa. Sorry I do not know your name. In your sudden appearance and disappearance I did not catch it. I had been a loyal customer for years, since 2010 when I personally moved home. I have walked my bicycle into and through the establishment countless times. Never rode, stood or sat on it while in your store. I even took great care to never bump anything while grabbing what was usually just a quick lunch from the salad bar. Today, you walked up to me, stood a foot away and said Just so you know, you cant bring that in here, so you know for next time. Then walked away and stared at me until I was able to leave. There will never be a next time. Your store will never earn a single penny from me ever again. I will proliferate to my family this story, who has been in Lenexa longer than your store location. I dont know why you suddenly chose today to pretend my bike was bothering you as I patiently stood in line while your flimsy, under the nose mask wearing staff took their time ringing the handicapped person in front of me at a pace slower than an empty line at Wal-Mart. Which is why I could not just leave immediately. When it was my turn I left my salad for you, please enjoy. I went to Hy-Vee, less than a half mile away, east of your location. Sat in the nice, leather chairs in front of a fireplace, my bike next to me and ate my dinner. Then enjoyed the Star-Bucks also provided at that location. Goodbye Hen-House. I hope it was worth losing the potential thousands of dollars from my family and myself over the next, forever.

Went to get sashimi, the area was low and the lady was making rolls. I asked if I could get shashimi made and I can come back. She said they were in the front. No those had rice. This isnt my normal store but she scrunched up her face and swished me away. Rude and unprofessional. Will stick to my regular hen house.

I started my shopping day only to be stopped approached by a woman asking me if I need a mask. I told her no thank you and that Im fine. She then demanded that I wear a mask because of the Mandate. I reminded her that Mandates arent law. She told me that to shop here I have to wear one anyways. So Im taking my business somewhere else.I would like to encourage EVERYONE to exercise your freedom as a citizen by taking your money where we are not being persecuted by this Globalist agenda.

Friendly employees. Got cooler after cooler keeping more Red Bull cold than they can sell in a day and not one cold Monster. I wont shop here.

Love this location of Hen House. This part of town isnt too crowded mid-day, and the store is well stocked with the usuals, plus excellent deli, produce, and a Starbucks. Shop for your own groceries, then pull up to the covered area to load. They did this before drive-up was a COVID thing.

The store is currently undergoing renovations (theyre open), the stuff Ive seen so far looks really great of an improvement, has a Starbucks inside and they have some good store card perks, also has some of the best beef and meat of any of the local butchers. I enjoy this place for its quality.

Clean fantastic place to shop. Fresh produce (most of the time). Friendly staff. I go often.

Never have any food options for takeout like other grocery stores.

I live about a block away from this hen house on 84th street and from what I have seen this place is always very clean and the staff are always very friendly, they have a lot of great prices here for good quality food and usually have a sale or two going on. I always like what I see here in this place and expect great things to come in the future

I dont buy all my groceries here because of my budget BUT I love it for several reasons. Their deli and salad bar are the BEST around. The remodel is so pleasant and the new carts are great. Nice music. No bad smells. Flowers are beautiful. Local produce. Delicious house made pico. Great bakery- especially the sourdough bread. Competent polite employees. I will continue to give them my business with their sale items and the specialty items I love there. No need for another high price grocery store nearby. No worries Hen House- youre way better than your new competitor.

Hen House has always been my favorite store for 20 plus years. A couple of your front end staff the past couple of weeks have been horrible. Elizabeth (?) at the front desk rolled her eyes at me when I brought something back. McGeevers has great customer service. Please correct the situation.

Cleanest grocery store in town. During the COVID scare, I felt comfortable shopping because I witnessed the care and cleaning.

I’ve shopped every full service grocery store, and more, in JoCo, because of my job. This one has friendly staff. The seafood counter has some very helpful, pleasant people. It’s a good store.

I live 1 block from the Hen House on 87th Street in Lenexa. I have shopped there for over 4 years. The staff is always friendly and the store is clean. They are generally slightly higher priced than their competitors consistently, but I am willing to pay that given the atmosphere. BUT, went in last night to pick up some essentials. Not only were most of the regular prices marked up higher, a 12 pack of the regular eggs was marked up to $4.99. This is a horrible case of price gouging and taking advantage of people who are struggling with the condition of the country right now. You definitely lost a customer forever and I would encourage anyone else who frequents the store to maybe shop around for another grocer.SHAME ON YOU

Today April 1st I shopped at the Lenexa hen house. Very impressed how has stopped store-wide and cleaned, disinfected all areas. Cant believe they are Miles Ahead Half Price Chopper in the Mckeevers Market.

Very nice, clean store. Got some fresh fruit off the salad bar for breakfast and it was delicious. However, the stores prices are too high for me to shop there. Also, poor Gluten Free section.

Great quality & selection of produce as well as meats. Lots of organic options for everything. The employees are always very helpful and I find it encouraging that they seem to have low turnover rate amongst employees. Plus, I enjoy supporting a local (regional) business.

Have been going to this Hen House since it opened. The neighborhood feel and friendliness is gone. They have everything I need but it has turned into a just another grocery store.

Bit more expensive than other grocery stores for the same items, but they do have a great selection and nice shopping environment. Even though I cringe at the receipt, I still enjoy shopping here when looking for something a little different.Make sure you sign up for their Hen House membership thing though. Its free and I havent had them abusing my cell phone or e-mail whatsoever since I signed up yet Ive saved a lot of money (usually upwards of $10-20 per large trip). Well worth the minute or so it takes to fill out the information and get yourself a membership card.

This is based on the Urban Bowl- When Hen House first began serving the poke bowls they were delicious all fresh ingredients and freshly made seems like since they changed the format it’s just gone downhill

This is usually my go to grocery store but I felt like the employees were not practicing social distancing and they dont have directional markings for the isles. Wont be going back until this is over.

Overall good selection. Try the sushi if you havent. Eugene makes some delicious food. Their salad bar is also one of the best around.

Beautiful, clean, right sized grocery store. Big enough to carry all the items I want without spending an hour walking around the store. The produce is always fresh and looks great!

Not my favorite grocery store but its not bad. It has a Starbucks in it, and it has a bakery that puts out fresh cinnamon rolls and muffins in the morning. My on complaint is that theyre more expensive than the other stores. The meat department isnt that impressive either IMO. I still stop by there though in the morning.

My experience is always good at Hen House. The staff are always cheerful and helpful.The energy is very positive. I love it.

Hen House really disappointed me today with their customer service. They completely undermined me as an educated customer and demanded that I show a proof of identification with a credit card purchase. When it clearly states by MasterCard and Visa that if your credit card is signed on the back of the card you are not required to present a valid government-issued ID. Did you not understand that I do not want to give someone my credit card and then give someone my complete identification in fear of my identity being completely taken from me. Therefore they denied me the transaction and the manager continued to argue with me about a policy that they dont even have written down. That supposedly states they require ID with any kind of gift card purchase made with a credit card. Yet they could not show me or present me any information to back this up. It really disappoints me that they would go out of their way to deny a simple transaction for a repeated customer over a policy that they dont even have when it clearly states that if you sign the back of your credit card you are not required to present any kind of ID and that is because you are protecting yourself from some cashier who could possibly steal my whole entire identity.I have every right to protect my identity and i have earned the privilege to be able to shop freely and pay for my purchases by any means I should choose. At the end of the day I am paying that credit card with my hard earned money. I will no longer be going to hen house again, period!

Really good store with a lot of choices. One of the longest butchers counters Ive ever seen. Butcher was very knowledgeable and really friendly.

Nice, smaller store. Prices are pretty competitive, but slightly higher on some things than the other stores I frequent. Nice produce and meat depts.

Great selection, nicest staff, and if they dont have it, theyll get it, if its wrong, theyll make it right. Members only deals, super sales, and bonus scores of random 50% off items throughput the shelves make up for the odd item youll find cheaper here or there. I have to have a wheat free diet, through medical necessity, not a fad, and in the years Ive shopped here, theyve come to know me, even stocking new gf foods I can eat, just to see if Ill like them. I grew up in a tiny country town, and hen house feels like the grocers there. They know my family, my kids, heck, if I forget to grab a quarter for my daughter to ride Lucky, the coin-coin-op pony in front, any number of people come up to us and after talking to her, personally, about her day and the like, will give her a coin out of their own pocket. THE Best place to shop, hands down.

The store is great and the meat department is awesome. But I come in for the salad bar and holy cow the grilled chicken and many ingredients are gross. Old and obviously frozen chicken. Would love to use this store more often but Ill go to HyVee for their awesome salad bar.

They have the best salad bar, deli, seafood counter, and meat department! Ive been to 2 other Hen Houses in town and this one is by far the best. Friendliest employees too!

Really should have more than one girl working at 3 in the afternoon. I waited over 15 minutes for a drink with just 2 people in front of me. Staff is ALWAYS friendly and it is very clean. Just poor staffing decisions by management

I went to hen house after having them hold six bags of bones for my dog. As silly as it sounds, the price was so good I felt it important to go and get them. They looked and looked and found what I needed. Their customer service is great.

Good store, clean. A little pricey but its a smaller store they have a good selection of fruit and fresh veggies and I love their chicken tenders.

Fantastic store with a recent remodel

I like shopping here. But on Christmas Eve, the workers locked the doors and posted themselves near the exit and rudely turned many people away BEFORE their posted closing time (6pm). Some of us have been shopping there for years, and it’s insensitive to close before posted closing time. I hope this gets read by upper management and this situation is dealt with. No one expects to get in after 6pm. But if you show up several minutes before they close to grab one forgotten item and a worker rudely tells you “NO WE’RE CLOSED” ....that’s just unacceptable.

If my reviews seem a bit late....Ive been super busy. This place kicks ass primarily because of their Sushi guy named Gene. He is awesome if you enjoy Sushi, hit this place up for lunch. Very clean store.

Horrible place to buy groceries. I bought 2 Fairfield health shakes, as I was at the store the vendor was restocking the cold beverages where I got my health shakes from. The expiration date was from October 2018. This isnt the first time I had bought something expired from this store. Wont be going back!

While the variety at this Hen House is larger than the one I normally frequent, the customer service is not as favorable. Help at hot foods counter took several minutes, and checkout person was not cheery, quite unfriendly. I do love Hen House, though, and hope they focus on bettering the customer service at this location.

I drove almost 8 miles to this Hen House for 2 reasons: Boars Head sauerkraut and the people who work here. The produce is beautifully displayed as well.

Nice strip mall, lots of parking. Great pet dentist there. A bit pricey, but as in all things, you get what you pay for.

Almost always have what Im looking for, A+ salad bar, and very kind staff. I just get frustrated when the bakery items get cleared out 2+ hours earlier than close time. I know it has to happen at some point but I feel like Im missing out on a lot since I cant shop until after work.

I live in KCKs but have to drive to the Hen Houses in Johnson County to get good quality items that are not carried in the KCKs store

Hands down Hen House is the best grocery store on the area. They always have ever what I am looking for, it is very clean, and the produce is amazing.

This is an accumulated review. Using the automated cashiers, which I love. The monitoring cashier, a real person, tends to say thank you for coming selectively. You just notice it after a while and think.....everyone should adopt Chick-fil-as habits.

It has a decent selection of items but they have a loyalty card so unless you have one you can not get the best prices.The place is very clean and well lit. Well layed out for the most part.The seafood section has the sounds of seagulls playing all the time. Having to listen to that while shopping can be a bit annoying.The building seems to block most all wireless signals from the outside and while it has free WiFi its slow and not woth using.Overall its a good store if you dont mind the loyalty card pricing. Car Park is a good size and easy to get around

I recently moved to the area, and was really excited to find that there was a Hen House right down the street. I went there tonight to get groceries and could not have been more disappointed. I was there for about an hour and was not greeted or asked if I was finding everything okay by a single person.The meat department was pretty much all put away, even though it was two and a half hours before the store closed, so I skipped ground beef. There was no almond butter near the peanut butter and no one around to ask, so I skipped that, too.I got up to the register and there were two lanes open. I walked up to one and neither of the cashiers or the guy sacking groceries stopped their conversation to say a single word to me, I just got to hear about how one of their exes wrecked their car while my groceries were rung up. As I was putting things onto the conveyor belt, someone sweeping the store couldnt be bothered to try to avoid me, so he swept over my foot as if I wasnt even standing there.Im super bummed because I normally really like Hen House, but I guess from now on Ill stick to Sprouts and HyVee.

A little pricey compared to other stores in the area but they offer a little higher end items occasionally, such as a large cheese selection and a wider array of seafood.
