This was my second visit to Newportville Inn with friends. Easily the best German beer and German food place in the area. They get authentic beer imported from Germany. The wurst platter is a must try. Extremely friendly servers and we were made welcome both times. The outdoor biergarten is a lovely area to spend time with family and friends. We will visit again for sureπ
Newportville Inn is one of my early favorite beer bars in Lower Bucks County. They had a nice selection of German beers before craft beer was trendy. They also served some good German cuisine. It was a great place to enjoy some wurst. It was a nice cozy place and the staff was always friendly.
Ordered take out tonight for my family which is something Iβve been doing to help support this local business since the pandemic started. A sweet girl took my order and said it would be approximately 30 minutes. When I arrived I was told it would be another 20 mins. After waiting a total of 1 hour, I was told by the manager that he doesnβt allow take-out orders during Oktoberfest because it wouldnβt be fair to his dine-in customers and that he was sorry for the miscommunication. Weβll, Iβm sorry I ordered food and gift cards so often from you during 2020 when you were asking for support. Please, let your staff know about your take-out policies and think twice before treating someone else this way. Your business survived the pandemic with help from customers like me.

Authentic german food. Definitely order the 16oz pretzel appetizer but ask for creamy mustard. All the schnitzels are good. Our party had the weiner (veal) & the jager schnitzel (pork) with a mushroom demi glaze gravy SOOOO GOOD!!! My husband had the schweine braten (pork loin) with german potato salad and has enough left over for a 2nd meal. We ordered the apple studel to go for dessert. It was excellent, not sweet at all but maybe needs a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.

One of my favorite spots. Best Snapper soup Ive had. Ate half and took a medium container home. Also the meatballs with Spaetzle and pork gravy was great. Wife had pork chops, which were very good. A beer for me and a small cider for her out the door just over $40 + tip. Not super close but we try to get down here several times a year. Also one of the best draught beer selections in the area, especially Germans. Can never go wrong here!
We stopped here for dinner last evening. We had a cheese burger and fries, and the mixed sausage plate with German potato salad. The burger was actually very. The potato salad was warm but had very little flavor to it. Im guessing it wasnt made at this place and probably came out of a can. I also ordered one of their many selections of German beers, when it arrived it was flat.

Worst customer service, the manager BRAD took the phone and spoke very very RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, with me ordering for the first time, he never present himself, he just pick up the phone after I already gave the order to a nice lady, and when I ask, hey stop who are you, why ARE you screaming to me, he just continued.I explained to him nice when you get in a conversation you say first time who are you and after ask what you want to ask nice, he just continued, are you from door dash, he ask screaming for 4-5 times.For everybody to understand I found this place on maps, Google maps and I read from their menu and after I called directly on their phone number.So, this Manager BRAD, continue to scream if Im from door dash, Im trying between his screaming to say, no Im on Google, and he scream more no is not good go to another website, because this is not good we dont have backed stuffed mushrooms, again all this in screamingI said 3 or 4 times STOP, stop a second and his answer was NO Im not stopping.I have recorded all this conversation! Located on the banks of Neshaminy creek. Outdoor seating is both convivial & charmingly adorned. Indoor dining & hangem high oval bar; with splendid assortment of beers on tap & in bottles too!Pretzels are offered up as friendly gratuity along w their own house mustard (they also sell in jars).....methinks it even makes the beer taste its best.If youre lucky, youll catch em during an outdoor pig roast....sells-out rather fast. Wonderful local clientele who make the social interlude of dining-out a memorable experience, every time I visit.Unfortunately, the bar let Andrea leave. She was the incomparable Fizz who invariably facilitated an over-the-top vibrance in this historic, Lower Bucks County restaurant. One might think Washington favored this Inn/Tavern along his trek; fighting for American traditions and respected freedoms.This cozy place might even spark interest for sophisticated boaters, if the creek were dammed-up and locked, to bring up yachts from the Delaware River. The project might be an engineering marvel to orchestrate (acres of land would need be flooded for a small lake). Nevertheless, the bureaucrats might be easily persuaded to invoke eminent domain to coerce the transition for this areas smaller businesses to surrender current economic stabilities, so the high rollers can set anchor at a veritable Pirates Cove; hidden a relatively short distance from the Delaware, and the rest of the world.But, for now, it remains a peaceful retreat for good sounds, aromas (besides the fresh air), tastes, and social conviviality....second to none!Perhaps a wonder, Newportville Inn has not yet been staged as a movie set. Guessing Hollywood would need to sort that out with Art.....
We tried pork belly sampler lots of fat but if you like that it was okay,perfectly crispy on outside. I like the fact they have small plates but came for the Schnitzel. We had the Rahm and drunken Bavarian. My husband is still talking about how perfect the rohm was. Flavor was powerful with bacon and onion in a brown gravy, portion was perfect (large for me lunch tomorrow for him) highly recommend the Rahm! Drinks were okay wont even give you a buzz. Great selection of mixed specialty drinks.

Amazing! My husband family loves it here and tonight I found so many things that I love too! Have to try the sourkrout balls, they are mixed w some corned beef & hot sauce then deep fried (Yummy). The pierogies are not.made here, but they are all natural and prepared very well. The fries are made here and very tasty. Foot long hot dog, yummy w sour krout and potato salad very good as well. Ambiance nice and service is always very good!
Post Covid-19 update, all is well here they are open inside and out. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and warm environment and prices seem reasonable. We started with tasty Perogies, delicious Crab Cakes, a fantastic Schnitzel A La Holstein, along with German potato salad and other offerings, ending with a tasty Apple Cobbler with Ice Cream. Enjoying a great Belgian White 1664 Kronenbourg Blanc beer. Good place to eat indoors or outdoors, we chose outside and were treated to a beautiful evening. Some great beers, with good tasting German foods, great waitresses kept us happy the entire evening. Youll enjoy yourself here, we did.

Update:Recently went back and it was back to standard. The beer garden was lovely. Drinks were delicious and our meals were good with a notable exception. The potato pancakes were overcooked. But otherwise wonderful evening and great service!We have enjoyed this restaurant for many years. And usually it is remarkable. This evening was unfortunate. The pretzel appetizer was legitimately delicious. That is where the good news ends. The menu has been reduced (which is understandable in COVID). But they also reduced their quality. No more sides with entrees. No more little pretzels or bread. Mashed potatoes from a box and zero flavor. I had the bacon wrapped pork belly. The bacon was over done and the pork belly had no flavor.The service was not as upbeat and quick as usual. Over all, if this had been my first experience, I wouldnt come back. I may try it once more. But Im pretty disappointed this time.

The owner is VERY RUDE! His attitude is poor! We waited an hour an a half to be seated inside and when we finally got seated the entire dining section with the exception of one other table was completely EMPTY!!!! So why the long wait!!!??? He cut so many corners he said due to covid!! Which is BS!!!! No complimentary pretzels on table with mustard, No bread! No salad!!!!! Up charged me for a baked potato ! Meanwhile you can go too any other restaurants and you still get the free salad, you still get the free bread!!!!! The crab cakes werenβt the same!!! My cosmopolitan didnβt taste good! Never again will I give this place my business!!!!β Sad Because we liked going there at one time!!!!

Im not really in to German food, but Im not going to remove stars because of that. The pork is good and I discovered I like German potato salad, so thats cool. Reasonable selection of German beers on draft that you dont see very often. I do wish the beers came out a little faster, but it wasnt too bad. The building itself is old and very cool.
Great food and a nice selection of beers. Schnitzels are all great, my favorite is the biersteiner schnitzel. My daughters favorite thing here are the crab cakes. Love when they have the Belgian menu and Octoberfest. Gotta get pierogies and then something with red cabbage and spaetzel.

This site is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I want to go to a proper lunch, this restaurant comes instantly to my head. outstanding and diverse food and a rich menu.helpful staff, and good ambience. Not less important, the bill is modest. I recommend this restaurant with no doubt.

My husband and I live in South Jersey and were sick of being cooped up! Knowing things reopened somewhat in Pennsylvania and following a recommendation from my sister in law, we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. Aside from the fact that it was nice to be in public and dining out and enjoying drinks, the food and the service were both fantastic! You could just tell the staff were happy to be about and serving and interacting with customers. And the plates consisted of generous portions and were absolutely delicious! We will be back!
My husband and I have been going here for years and it seems like the food only gets better each time we go! The atmosphere is historic and quaint.
This restaurant not only does not have parking, but the staff doesnt even care about the guests. Not only that but this location is directly next door to a half way house full of addicts, but I got assaulted on the property the the owner was outside and I said catch that guy. He had no regard to his properties safety and said screw that its your problem. I should honestly press charges on that place for letting an assault happen

I celebrated my graduation this evening in this great restaurant. Well we had a marvelous evening and the restaurant was absolutely one of the reasons for this successful event. The team helped in a splendid style, the cooking was tasty and my buddies were extremely pleased. We shall surely come back again for more events. thanks very much.
Great place in an old, historic house by the Neshaminy Creek. If you like German food, you must come here. The pork chop was the best Ive had. Brats are super tasty. Service is always quick and staff is friendly.

Good food. Reasonable prices. I ordered to go and sat at the bar while my food was prepared. Staff and clientele were a bit standoffish at 1st, but accommodating. Good specials for happy hour. Worth the trip for good German food.

It is great to have a local place where the food and drinks are consistently good! We love the schnitzel and spaetzle here! It doesnt matter which gravy you get, its all so good! I myself am not a fan of red cabbage (my husband and sons love it) so I substitute it with the sauerkraut and it is delicious! The potato pancakes are great too! I wish I could review the other foods, but I love the schnitzel such that I cant bring myself to order something else.

This is an amazing German pub. I canβt decide whether the food or beer is better. They are both amazing. I love their pretzel with the crab dip in particular. Their outdoor patio is amazing and is a great way to end any night.

Havent had REAL German food in a long time. Went with a friend...she lives in the area....we both got something different so we could share. I got a combo of meats..sausage, pork, sauerkraut, German noodles and gravy. The pork was so tender it melted in your mouth..sausages were great! Sauerkraut was as good as I had in Germany! She got Wienerschnizel...we shared! Had enough for both of us to take home....had apple strudel with vanilla ice cream for dessert. so yummy!! Everything was great...we ate indoors as it was chilly...lovely atmosphere. Good value..excellent service and food! Will do it again!
If you are ever near Ft Dix McGuire AFB then stop here and eat. These pictures are from Sunday brunch. I would gladly not eat all week to save room for what is here on Sunday. Great food, awesome service, wonderful atmosphere. What a prized gem!
Good comfort food with seasonal specials. Varied menu with burgers, schnitzel, snapper soup and much more. Cozy but not crowded. Great beer selection and cocktails too. Nice outdoor covered patio with full service.
