First, I never post reviews. It seems that folks these days just post negatives and not positives. This one is a positive. I will sharing briefly. We first met Jay Howard at your Dallas location. We were remodeling our bathroom and other projects. Jay was very helpful and mindful of our budget, but quality. My husband finally finished the bathroom. During this project we went to your new location in Lewisville, which is where we live, and once again found Jay there. Once again, he was very helpful. Every time we walk in there, no matter who is helping us, we receive great service. We decided to get serious about our kitchen cabinets. Jay introduced us to Jeffrey Moreno, Interior Designer for their bath and kitchen cabinets. We sat with him for almost 2 hours designing our kitchen. He later emailed us professional renderings of what our new kitchen would look like. Like everyone, were on budget, so we checked out the competition. We compared apples vs. apples for quality and price afterwards. There was no comparison. The prices everywhere else was so out of the ballpark! We will continue to go to our Lewisville location to finish the house with new doors, handles, backsplash materials, etc...Thank you Jay and Jeffrey!!

Where should I start, I went to see some granite, I liked one type, then I got an estimate, I signed, I paid, and it’s done. In addition I got another quote from a competitor which was so much high and too late, it was installed in 3 hours. Really Amazing! The sink, faucet and backsplash all from there too, the cheapest I found anywhere and great quality. Thanks for this great service.

Decent prices. Hot as hell inside.

The tile I purchased was on back order with the idea it would arrive in the store long before I would need it. As the days went by, I began communicating with Jay Howard as to when the order would arrive. Jay was very helpful and kept in communication with me. He was never too busy to take my call. He alone made my experience a positive one, as well as the beautiful tiles I purchased. The tile never came in so I had to purchase a different one and that is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

My wife and I installed a DIY 400 square foot laminate living room floor. The selection of materials at Seconds and Surplus was of good quality at an exceptional price. (Approximately 30% of the home improvement stores in our area).The salesperson was quite knowledgeable and provided excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend this establishment for anyone wishing to buy quality materials at an affordable price. For future projects, Seconds and Surplus will our first destination for finding the necessary materials.

Phenomenal customer service. Exceptional quality. Best place for home improvement projects, and new construction upgrades. The same products builders use for new construction with unbelievable costs savings across the board. The choices are the same high end upgrades custom luxury builders charge astronomical prices. this store/warehouse has all of them and more from doors to flooring to hardware to cabinetry and sooooo much more. I purchased a new construction home and will be getting all of my upgrades from here. Plus. They can do installation on a lot of the granite counters. You can save thousands of dollars by buying from this place instead of the over priced upgrades from builders.

Jennifer did a great job helping us with our cabinet additions. The renderings she sent really helped helped us decide on which cabinets would look the best in our home. The cabinets and hardware match exactly to what we currently have. We are thrilled!

Close at 7pm, but cant buy anything that has to be loaded after 5pm. This should definitely be posted on your info page for a home store. Im a business owner, and I would never turn a paying customer away. Disappointing.

I purchased some wood look porcelain tile and was told by the associate that I could return unused ones within 30 days. When I arrived back at the same Lewisville store to do so, I was then told that only unopened boxes could be returned. That was definitely not communicated by the original sales person. After all, they have plenty loose tile on the floor. I am very disappointed in their customer service and will refrain from making future purchases. I will just go up the street to Floor and Decor instead. Lesson learned!

Purchased a French door paid $750 had it for two weeks and the track for the mini blind broke my husband called them their response was it will still work without it...They do not warranty what they sell nor do they care once it leaves their property we will never go back we had other projects we were going to do and we were going to use them but don’t go to surplus and seconds they don’t care about you only money....Terrible customer service

We were looking to do redo our floors in porcelain tile and found exactly what we wanted here at a great price (unbeaten by other retailers). They recommended ordering an extra 10% for any defects but we found about 4 bad tiles out of 2,200 sq ft we bought. They were very helpful and also recommended ways for us to save money on our project. We ended up having them do delivery for what we felt was a reasonable fee and they delivered on time as promised and dropped the pallets up a hill and right into our garage. I would absolutely shop here again!

Buy 2 vanity from the store pick up after 30 days because of other material not available. When open it both were broken try to return it they say can’t give refund it’s pass 30 days even though we didn’t pick it up last week. Only get store credit of no use.

Jennifer Hamm is very patient and professional kitchen designer that has been working with us for more than a month to finalize our plan. We have not yet executed the total kitchen renovation, but we feel that we are in good hands. We have purchased cabinetry and tile for a bathroom remodel in 2019, and we worked with Patrick. He and all the staff at Seconds & Surplus have always been reliable, professional and very customer focused. I highly recommend working with Patrick and Jennifer on minor or major home improvement projects.

Terrible customer service!First time I went to this location and will never go back.Placed an order for a door, wrong size provided.When I called in to speak with store manager Randy, he refused to believe the his “ very experienced” sales rep made the error in the paper work that I questioned at the time of purchase but was advised by sales rep Brent this is simply how they log the orders.In retrospect I should have went with my gut instinct that the order was wrong but I relied on the “ experienced “ sales rep.

Worked with Jennifer Hamm to design a dining room buffet from kitchen cabinets. She made it easy and understood what we were looking for. Offered suggestions and helped us visualize it. Key was the upgrades to make if “furniture like” versus kitchen cabinets. Who would have thought possible at Seconds And Surplus. Most think of salvage and inexpensive goods. They also do custom cabinets, granite, and offer installation. See Jennifer if you want something custom. Happy customer.

Came here to buy a new door and Lance helped me so much! They have so many beautiful options it was so hard to pick just one, but he helped me find the perfect one! The store was extremely clean and organized. I will definitely be coming back.

The stock changes frequently so you see new things all the time! We have used the store to upgrade our kitchen and now our upstairs bathroom. Met with Jennifer Hamm, their custom cabinet expert, to see about new cabinets to replace two that were water damaged. She was patient with me as I worked through my needs, wants, and limitations. Couldn’t have asked for more professionalism and knowledge. Due to my desire to match our existing 40 year old cabinets, we are going with a custom builder. Jennifer saved me a ton of time, while increasing my knowledge so I could make a decision. I definitely recommend and will head to Jennifer when I have cabinet needs again.

Ordered a tub. It did not fit. Brought it back, still in plastic. It had been taken out of box, but was placed back into box. They charged a restocking fee. 20%. I found $140 for restocking to be ridiculous! Don’t by here if your not sure on measurements. Terrible customer service!

We came in here on a Saturday afternoon and we were immediately greeted by staff member Jason Peterson who was a great help to us during our visit. We came in to look at doors and he gave us a lot of helpful information about styles, options, and prices. He was very informative and knowledgeable.Customer service like that is hard to find these days. We will definitely be coming back to this location as we continue to remodel our home.

Had to get a new front door installed and found a beautiful, well priced door at Seconds. Decided to have them install it as well and it was super easy. The whole process was quick and painless with professionalism throughout.

I had no idea that S&S had complete kitchen design services until I went inside the store. Jennifer and Jeffery took my measurements and ideas and came up with a fantastic floor plan in full 3D that sealed the deal. Yes, they have the same budget priced cabinets youll find at the big box home centers, but they also carry high end cabinets at prices at or below the lesser quality brands youll find in those stores!If youre in the Lewisville area, be sure to stop in and ask for Jennifer or Jeffery to help with your kitchen remodeling. They know their stuff and are a dream to work with!

I went on 1/5/17 to pick up an order I made online. This review is ONLY for all the guys that work in the back loading up material on to people’s vehicles. They were the kindest employees I ever dealt with. “Eddie” loaded my car and made sure everything fit perfect with out obstructing my view. ”Damariay” was also very polite. Overall very pleasant experience.

Inventory and selection is better than expected. Prices are lower than THD and other home improvement stores. There are some REALLY good deals on some items too. Plenty of workers to help but not all are qualified to get things right so watch for special orders and price ring ups carefully! Best to have your patience cap on if youre really shopping to buy same day.

2nd trip to this location. Bought tile and a bathroom vanity. The gentleman that helped me on the floor was great to work with. The guys on the doc were helpful and kept me updated. There was an issue with not having the vanity I picked available in a box so I had to get the floor model. Management was helpful and reduced the price. All around a great experience.

I had my kitchen cabinets and countertops done with Jennifer in the kitchen design department. I was originally working with Home Depot for this project but the communication was horrible. I just happened to be in S&S looking at tile and noticed they have a kitchen design department. About a week later I called and spoke with Jennifer about it and decided to go with them. I wound up with a better design for $3000 less than HD!

We have used Seconds & Surplus for materials for our kitchen remodel and now our two bathrooms as well. Ive purchased flooring, cabinets, countertops, etc.Jennifer in the custom design center is absolutely wonderful to work with. She makes sure you get what you want/need, and works with you to make sure it fits your plans, your budget, etc.We have been very happy with our purchases and the service from these guys - highly recommend!

This place is a nightmare to deal with. I ordered a custom door. The door order was completely fouled up. Reordered it. Here we are ... 3 months from my original order and nobody can even give me a status. And nobody seems to care. I will never come here again for any reason once this debacle is over. Stay away. Stay far away.

The store is nice but the employees are what make it great. The prices are what got us there and then Jason P has helped us in every way he possibly can. I didn’t expect the level of customer service he has shown us from a discount store. I never leave reviews either! We are remodeling our kitchen and he has been patient and walked us through every purchase we’ve made so far. He is an attentive listener and knows exactly how to help us find what we need. Further more he has gone above and beyond to help us find a specific type of installer for our kitchen counters. I can’t say enough good about Jason, ask for him!

No help what so ever for my wife. Asked a question about a vanity issue we have, guy said let me get pen and paper, walked away, never came back. Found him playing on the computer. Never again

They constantly took items off my list and replaced them with items I did not need. After catching them time and time again, I was refused the sale. Be careful everyone. The design center off 121 and Castle Ridge is very crooked. I have plenty of evidence to prove it as well as a recording of them telling me they were going to MAKE ME buy the extra fluff that I didn’t need so she could make her money. Well, I didn’t and they refused me a sale of $6,000 after treating me like an animal. In the recording, I never lost my cool and they continuously attacked me. I will be taking this behavior to the media next. How dare anyone treat people the way I was treated and I will make sure the entire country hears this recording as well as see’s the 9 different sets of quotes I was given. Some of which show they charges they were using against me were not affiliated with their programs. The design center even apologized in the recording after I caught her taking out the crown molding for my cabinets for the 3rd time so she could stick her “fluff” as she called called it in the list. She claims that’s how she makes her money and then also claimed cooperate would fire her if she didn’t sell me what she wanted. I have this in recording. DO NOT trust them and if you have been ripped off before then I advise you to report them as well. They practice deceptive trade in broad daylight and it must be stopped!!

They are Fraud when it comes to getting the service thru them .. i think the best word is scam and con artist. you can get the material but never hire them to perform any service. ... i was conned by them. i wish i could get them negative rating.

I guess Your order will be ready for pickup after 3:30 today. means come and wait 30 minutes for us to find what you ordered. Good prices, decent products, but customer service leaves something to be desired.

All the people at the Lewisville location were very patient and helpful. Bethanie was great. She helped us visualize what our cabinets would look like in the room and made a list of suggested materials we would need.Scott helped us resolve a minor issue that led to us purchasing two cabinets for the laundry room. AMAZING!!! Both Jennifer Hamm and Bethany Galentine helped us plan and design our kitchen and bathroom. It was amazing to work with both of them. They are enthusiastic and friendly to work with. I came in with no idea of what I really wanted and they used their software to work with my husband and I to visualize and create an amazing kitchen and bath. My husband and I had very different ideas of what we each wanted. They helped us find compromise! I cannot say enough. And this is coming from a person who never writes reviews, but I read them a lot. So I hope this helps the next person find an update within a budget they set. I got estimates from 2 contractors before this and wow what a savings. Plus, we actually enjoyed the process. First time my remodel was fun!

Doors, flooring, tile etc but my most recent experience with their Lewisville store for a kitchen remodel was amazing.From the get go, the team was incredibly helpful with the design, selection of cabinetry, finishes, countertops, backsplash, sink and faucet.Spending this kind of money is a stressful experience but the Seconds & Surplus team was there every step of the way.Installation began and within weeks, out with the old kitchen and in with the new!Couldn’t be happier with my experience and very grateful for the team at Seconds & Surplus Lewisville.Many thanks and next home project, no question as to where I will shop!

Manager is very rude at this place. He does not know what he does at work and does not train his people properly. He is clueless about his job. Zero work ethics and extremely unprofessional to customers. Do not go to his place with such a rude manager. Moreover, Prices of tiles and materials is not cheaper or better than one sold at home depot or floors and decor. Better to stick with Home Depot and save some money and headache.

Poor. Called regarding a specific product, thick door kit for deadbolt. Assured they had in stock, arrived there and turns out they don’t carry it. Have your sales people educated in the products you have. Total waste of time.

Theres no AC, so dont go on a hot day. They just have all the garage doors open on the side and large fans to move air inside. But the sales people were nice and the prices were great.

Picked up an exterior door. Price was much lower than Lowes or Home Depot. Good selection of merchandise for tile, cabinets, vanities, doors, sinks, tubs, fixtures, and more.

The prices are compatible with home Depot. Found a good deal on stone countertops, but the rest if the store is just like a home improvement place

My wife and I are remodeling most of our house and heard about Seconds & Surplus from a few of my co-workers. We decided to visit per their raving reviews and were not disappointed! If you are on a budget and are shopping prices, you cant beat the prices here! The staff is very friendly and helpful and the selection is good - coworkers mentioned that the Dallas location had even more.

I purchased some faucets about 8 years ago and when one of them started leaking, the store manager let me exchange them both for brand new ones at no charge! The new ones look great and are high quality too!

I bougth some laminate but they didnt have enough at the store. They had to bring it from the Rishardson store and they said it would be ready for pick up 2-3 days later and that they would call.. four days later i called and they still didnt have it. I ask them if i could go and pick it up at the other store.. its far away but i needed it by the weekend.. after waiting about 15 min in the phone for the guy to ask he finally told me he would call me back and let me know. Well i waited for the call ready to drive more than an hour and never called back. Today is Tuesday.. 6 days after i was supposed to pick up my floor and after a call I MADE.. because they havent call me back.. they still dont know where my floor is.. i asked they guy if for sure it was going to be there today because i need the floor. My husband took time off from work.. all the guy said was I DONT KNOW.. I CANT PROMESS ANYTHING BECAUSE THIS IS JUST WHAT THE COMPUTER TELLS ME.Do why they sell something that they dont have in store.. becaue they did charge the same day. They could just tell me ita better to go to the other store which is just 30 min away from them and more than a week later they havent been able to bring the laminate to the store. I was willing to go all the way there but they dont know if i can.If you decide to go to this store just try to get something that is in stock.. in will be a pain to get something that is not. The employees just dont know how to investigate whete is your stuff..

Walked in and wasnt really sure, asked for directions to the area looking/shopping for first. Once in the area a Sales Guy approached Extremely friendly, put a tape measure in my hand (i guess to claim his customer) saying he wouldnt hover over us and would allow us time to look in Peace. Then I guess he got tired of waiting around, then he came back over, seemed helpful but at the same time kind of anxious and ready to make a decision and checkout. Mind you, he was very nice and helpful upon greeting but mellowed out during the selection process (he was getting antsy) I wasnt going to rush this process. Noticed his energy was changing as if he was ready for us to hurry and decide on what we wanted faster and go pay. Still wanted to shop the store for other projects and he kept showing up with this energy of hurry up (or you guys are holding me up from getting my next customer) this was very Annoying.Didnt get to shop the entire store because this guy wanted to make his freaking sale. The next time I will be standoffish and tell the salesperson who approaches me that Im not interested or just looking. Came out there to solve 2-3 projects not just one, didnt need anyone in the way, necessarily.Oh and once checked out (paid), there were no more Smiles he had gotten what he wanted (THE SALE) and that was that. He forgot to give the receipt until asked.Soooo Annoyed, still have to go somewhere else and shop when could have easily made all decisions/ purchases there.My Philosophy Now is- Ill come get you when I need you, dont hang around me, need space, Ill come get you when Im ready or if I have more questions. Once checked out he pointed us around to the side of the building where we where to pull in and pick up our items.They were getting ready to load one of the items without wrapping it up until mentioned. Also came with the 2nd wrong item to load and once we looked at it they had to go back and re-pull the right one. They loaded the vehicle, signed off on damages and correct items, they wrote down a license plate number and that was it.
