I also love how Zac keeps a picture of his father (original owner of the shop) hanging in the shop. I drive an hour one way just so I can have him do it for me and I wouldnt go anywhere else

The walked in with my fiancee and the guy I spoke to was very rude and unprofessional. I asked if walk ins were welcome and he said no you have to book an appointment which wasnt a big deal but the unprofessional part and what left me very confused is he told me what I was wanting to get which was not very big but had a little detail and color was gonna be 160 which I was thinking was a little high but then he said my fiancees would be around the same price and its very little detail and no color but about the same size. Dont understand the logic. If someone does please enlighten me. I have several tattoos. And Ive been to a couple shops and know an artist and I kinda know how they gauge the pricing and what he was telling me just made no sense.

Scotti was super amazing. She did my double nostril piercing on the same side. It came out perfectly spaced. She was super chill, she made sure I was comfortable, she took pride in her accuracy and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Amazing staff. I went in to get a name tattoo on my foot, showed Zac the picture I wanted done, he was set up and had the stencil ready within 15 minutes. He did an amazing job and it looks perfect! Made great conversationand helped with the nerves. Almost two years later no fading, no complications. I will definitely be back! Great service!

Really enjoyed and glad I found this tattoo shop. The owner and tattoo artist, Zac, was able to fit me in at a reasonable timeframe. (Used to waiting from 1-3 months to get tattooed by previous artists.) He was thorough and asking me what I wanted and where I wanted my new piece. He also suggested great feedback on how to maximize the view of my piece on my arm (continued sleeve work.) He was very professional and efficient (prepared the tattoo pattern beforehand, so we could start right away.) I will definitely be returning for more work. His technical skills and detail in the aftercare, showed me that previous artists weren’t as thorough. Thanks, Zac! You just earned a local customer!

I got my septum pierced by Scotti and I 10/10 would recommend her! She is so knowledgeable in her craft and makes a nerve inducing situation fun and easy. I had a little issue with one of the beads, but she fixed it no problem and no questions asked. The shop is super clean and everyone there seems easy going. I will for sure use them again for piercings and more than likely my next tattoo. 😊😊

Tattoos: I got a tattoo a little over a year and a half ago from Zac, and while I only have two tattoos, it’s definitely my best quality tattoo.Piercings: More recently I came in here to be pierced by Scottie. She is very sweet, and is welcoming of all questions and contact across her socials. I really appreciate her using the internally threaded piercing, seeing as I had two prior piercings with corkscrews that swelled horribly, and caused the jewelry to sink through the piercing. As someone who already had a belly button piercing, I knew the importance of tightening the jewelry daily, and have had no problems!

I came in to get my nose pierced by Scotti and I seriously have zero complaints. It was quick and it looks so good! She was so nice and made me feel comfortable. (I was so nervous about getting a piercing because I hate needles) She answered all of my questions. Everything was sterile. Definitely going back for more piercings in the future.

Yesterday my best friend and I went to A Better Tattoo to get our first tattoo together. Our experience was terrific, and Zach was so professional. I got a cross tattoo meanwhile my best friend got butterflies. Not only was he willing to hear out our ideas, he also gave us great feedback as well. First time for me to get a tattoo. Zac did a great job at a great price. I would refer him to anyone. I wont go anywhere else.Edit: Its been years since getting my tattoo. Ive needed to get it touched up for a third time and everyone at the shop keeps telling me to try to come in later. Its a small tattoo and wont take very long but whatever.Time and time again Im told to wait or they cant do it. I was even told to come in on a Monday because its their slowest day. I call Mondays and my artist isnt in (who is the only person allowed to touch up the tattoo.) Ive tried being patient and reasonable. It seems the upfront experience is great but they just arent interested in my continued business. I wanted more tattoos after this one is fully done but I guess I can go somewhere else after all.

Madison was fantastic today. I was in her chair from open to close and she exceeded my expectations on her design. Very clean shop and the whole staff in general was great. Looking forward to finishing up my new tat with them

I went yesterday to get a pretty big piece on my arm. Not only did Zac listen to exactly what I wanted, he nailed the tattoo. Its gorgeous & I love it. Hes very professional & pays attention to detail. Im going back for a couple more pieces in the future & I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone.

I came in and got a tattoo from Emma. I was nervous being that she was not usually who I got my tattoos from but she reassured me shed do a great job. I asked her to see her previous work first (I didnt want to off and her just wanted to see what she had done).She was super cool about it and understood where I was coming from. She worked with me and I didnt look sure she redid the design until I was satisfied. Not pushy or dismissive of my unsureness. The tattoo turned out GREAT!!! Emma did an amazing job.

Honestly I have only been to this location about 3 times, I have received incredible artwork from Sam (Def get tattooed by him) and got a very nice lip piercing done! I think the people here a respectable and do great work, Ive never had a bad experience and always remember to be patient in the tattoo world, these people get busy ♡ even when I have had wait time they have always been very kind and communicated well with me.

I absolutely love this place! I got my first four tattoos here six years ago and just got my fifth last night. Extremely clean shop and love the staff! Went in to a get a fairly simple tattoo. The artists seemed nice and theyre probably very talented. I will never know. Because the price they quoted me was absolutely ridiculous. They quoted me OVER 200% of the price that EVERY other place I had gone to quoted me. My suggestion to anyone thinking of getting a tattoo soon is to check the place out. Again, they were nice and probably very talented. If money isnt an issue, this place might be for you.In response 1: It was a tattoo with lettering. 13 letters. Less than a square inch per symbol. I was quoted at other places $145, $140, $130 and $120. It took 40 minutes to do. Just black. No detail. No shading. When I asked one of the artists at your shop, they told me they could probably do it for $250... I ended up going with the guy who said hed do it for $120 and it was perfect. And anyone who reads my review will see that I only had one problem with my visit and had plenty of nice things to say. It just happened to be a very big problem. And in my opinion, an integrity issue. So no. I didnt only write a review based off of price. I based my review off of my experience. Which is why you received 2 stars. Instead of 1.In response 2: I appreciate your response. If thats the case, it was obviously just a bad timing issue. Maybe if I had come in a week earlier, she wouldve done it for way too cheap. ;) Only joking. I will change my review and give the shop another shot. Im looking to get several more in the near future. I didnt want to hurt your business by my review. I just wanted to inform people of my experience so that they might avoid the same. Scottie is here at this location doing piercings and is the rudest person i have had the pleasure of interacting with. Maybe I just wasn’t her type of client or more than likely she hates her job. Either way I was not going to pay to be treated rudely.

I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment, and I was told no come on in we can help you.....drove all the way there for them to tell me, oh sorry, cant help training the OWNER how to do piercings! After we had decided on a font and placement!! I was sent away, and they had no care in the world. Garbage!!!! Not to mention the female tattoo artist had A LOT of I DONT KNOWS!!! 😡

I had been looking to have my first tattoo done for a long time. I had emailed and phoned around to places, and seen galleries online but couldnt find an artist I liked. After a lot of research I found Lauren at A Better Tattoo. Mainly from reviews like this one. Being my first tat, I was skeptical of all the rave reviews for Lauren and Zac. Well I hesitantly believed the hype and glad I did. She did an amazing job. Crisp clean line work on a wrist wrap. She was a little OCD about the clean up of the lines which is fantastic in my book. Angles and joints of a rather geometric design came out beautifully. And her attention to placement was very welcome. It is going to be with me forever. I will be going back to Lauren for my next one.

I got my double forward helix pierced in march. not only did she pierce me 3 times because she lost the thread. But now a month later its beyond infected. I have been taking care of it an making sure its clean but it bleeds an pusses non stop.. I wouldnt go there for a piercing if I was you!!!

But Zac is a problem solver and I called the shop and we got an appointment set up literally within the same week and gave me exactly what I wanted!The shop is super clean and the tattoo session was super chill and fun! Definitely will be getting more tattoos from here.

Lauren has done 2 of my last 3 tattoos and Zac did the other one. All three are fantastic. Lauren took an idea I had and came up with a great design. I am going back to see Lauren for another tattoo and cant wait to see what she comes up with this time. Love A Better Tattoo!!!! Update...I have another tat from Lauren and and a kick-ass guitar tat from Zac. Zac and Lauren are great artists. They listen to what you want and will come up with a killer design. I have had many piercings from several shops from in the Denton/Lewisville area and the only piercings I have had last are the ones from A Batter Tattoo. The piercer does not give you sketchy aftercare information and is very thorough in her work. My family members have also had the exact same negative piercing experiences all over the Denton/Lewisville area until I recommended A Better Tattoo.

Wouldnt recommend this spot to nobody I went in to get a tattoo and very rude business owners and employees I walked in they just stared at me after a minute or so they asked what do I want I said can I get a tattoo they said were busy dont know when I said do you take appointments they said no first come first served no sighn up sheets so I left came back more people was waiting none of the employees were freindly when people were coming through the door the people that was waiting for tattoos was helping the people walking through the door I waited another 30 min and just left not a place I would recommend poor business owners
