Cozy spot with creative entrees/sandwiches and drinks. I found the place clean and the service was excellent. I will be back. Additionally, they sell wines, premium coffee and specialty chocolates.
Food truck is horrible. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich. Chicken was not freshly cooked. It tasted like it came out of a microwave. Definitely not worth the 10 bucks as i could have gotten better food from any fast food place for cheaper. Service was horrible.. i cant speak for the restaurant but id avoid the truck at all costs.
Very pleasant experience. Had a breakfast sandwich and coffee. Excellent service, nice food. Next time we head down there, we will stop.
This place is the bomb every person that works there is an amazing individual everyone is kind caring and just amazing the food is out of this world I have told every person I know about this place it is THE best place to eat.
Cajun shrimp wrap was really good and tasted fresh! Order come up quickly as well. Pretty cool place.
Great food. Many menu options. Excellent service. Parking is a little tight, but its worth the time it takes to find a spot.
I was at Point Lookout State Park and decided to head to Blue Wind Gourmet for a very late lunch/early dinner. I looked on their website to check out the menu first and discovered the online order option. Since I have my pups in the car, ordering online would allow the food to be prepared and cooked before arriving at the restaurant, eliminating the wait time. The restaurant was easy to find and the front entrance was unusual, looks more like a side entrance to me. There were about 8-10 parking spaces right outside the door with 1 reserved for handicap. There were picnic tables outside next to the front door, but nothing fancy. I walked in and the 2 employees looked up at me with a blank on their faces... No smile, no greeting. I told them that I placed an online order and the young man handed me the food. I started looking around after noticing the left side of the restaurant has wall to wall beer, liquor and wine. The room has tables where you can sit and enjoy an alcoholic beverage. The center of the restaurant is the checkout counter and kitchen. To the right is a dining area and far right is where they make their chocolates and a counter for coffee and other beverages. I looked around and bought some chocolate and at checkout the computer gave me an option to tip, which is kind of weird but this app does that everywhere I shopped that used this app. I ate my food in the car with my pups. The crab and corn chowder was amazing!! I wanted more after finishing the cup. It was creamy with chunks of crabmeat and the soup has so much flavor. It was made to perfection. The crab cake sandwich was unique. It was served with my choice of artisan bread, toasted. The crab cake was a good size made with lump crabmeat. It looked delicious. It was served with a light orange sauce. The crab cake has no flavor but with the orange sauce, I loved it. The crab cake was a little dry though. I didnt realize they forgot the chocolate chip cookie that I ordered until I was almost done with the crab cake sandwich. Thank goodness I was eating in my car. I went in and the young man apologized and let me pick a cookie from the counter. I picked the smallest one because the cookies were huge. I ate the cookies on my way home, and it is one of the better ones I have eaten. The outer edge was crunchy, which I love. The center was soft, and the chocolate chips, variety of chips, melted in my mouth. The cookie almost tasted like it just came out of the oven, except it wasnt warm. I also bought some toffee crunch chocolate and peppermint bark. I cant wait to try them. This restaurant is so unique... Food, drinks, chocolate all in one. I would come back and try other items on the menu if I am ever in the area. The 2 things I feel that could be improved from this visit are... 1. Dont overcooked the crab cake so that will be moist, and 2. Friendlier service, greeting customers with a smile makes the customers feel welcome which enhances the customers experience.
Always delicious! The food is fresh and healthy.
Cool hues, playful art displays, custom candies, and cheerful staff create a uniquely refreshing ambience. The fare is carefully prepared, fresh, and tasty too!
I got the turkey bacon & Swiss wrap which was recommended by an employee. It was alright (nothing special) but my bacon was way too undercooked for my liking. I imagined a cold wrap with crispy bacon but it was if they put it on the stove for 30 seconds & put it back in the fridge until it’s ready to be used. I don’t like my bacon cold & still oinking. Next time I’ll get a wrap from Subway down the street.Edit: I got this from the food truck.
Was visiting from out of town and found this place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. Was expecting it to be a restaurant and found it to be a store with some tables to eat on. Found was good quality, portions were on the small side. I had the garbage sandwich which had good taste but not so much meat. For $10.95 I was expecting more. Not a bad experience but would probably not eat here again 😕
I had an egg and cheese croissant and a cup of coffee, both were perfect
One of my favorite spots! Great food, quick service and a good variety of beer/wine plus you can always grab a cup of coffee!
Ive been here three times and enjoyed it every time. People are friendly and the food and drinks are delicious!
We try to get there about once a month, we love it. The soups are always delicious and steaming hot. Ive never had a bad meal there.
Wife paid $16 for a Cajun shrimp wrap and tater tots. It was frozen shrimp (still cold) with a Cajun sauce and a some mixed greens. Nothing special or worthwhile. The tater tots seemed microwaved.
Good food but a little expensive for what you get. You have to pay for drink refills. Did not like the iced tea, either one. Suggest something different.
They are pricey, but their food is worth it. Awesome gluten free options - try the garbage wrap! As an added bonus it also happens to be a liquor store
Food is always good...service is Not!!!!
Very tasty sandwiches. Salad very fresh too. Thank you
Delicious food, THE BEST LEMONADE, and chill atmosphere.
I was able to stop by and enjoy a surprisingly delicious crab cake sandwich. It was full of meat, flavors and nicely portioned. Simple and yet delightful.
Good food cozy environment
Cute cafe with delicious lemonades.
You will be blue, if you miss this place! This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. The outside of the restaurant is nothing to note, but as the saying goes, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Blue wind, blows the cover away. Amazingly tasty and cooked to perfection. Additionally, they have an excellent selection of wines and spirits!I recommend the chicken pesto wrap and the tomato bisque!Enjoy!
Blue Wind never disappoints. Always excellent food and service. My favorite local sandwich shop.
Good food, good beer and wine selection.
Super good
A break from the normal area food fare. Prices are good for the portions. Many unique brands and menu items. A good place to pop in, though space is a bit limited and lines can get long if busy. Still thats because the place is good!
Good good but beware of price when the offer salad or chips there is an e ta charge so my $7 sandwich ended up being $12.
The atmosphere and employees were very pleasant. The service was prompt. However, the food was overall tasteless. The strawberry smoothie tastes like ice with a strawberry. I had over hard eggs with cheddar cheese and the texture was perfect but the cheddar and eggs were again tasteless. The bacon was decent but very tiny slivers of slices. The sweet potatoes were phenomenal but there were only three full slices on the plate. We ordered waffles with strawberries and there was literally one strawberry sliced so thin into six slices. The syrup for the waffles was very sugary and the waffles were burned. I heard great things about this restaurant and their brunch and was very disappointed as it had great reviews. Curb your expectations. The plating did look nice and mind you not my husband or myself left anything on our plates. We were both hungry!
Nice staff and good selection of wine by the bottle. Unfortunately my chicken pesto wrap was tasteless and terribly wrapped, kept falling apart, I didn’t bother eating it. I also ordered a glass of Chardonnay and they served me room temperature wine. When I asked for a cold one, they said they couldn’t open a cold bottle for just one glass and gave me ice instead. I was excited to try this place and left quite disappointed.
The food, drinks and atmosphere here are awesome. My new favorite place.
Great service and food.
Great handmade food and drinks! Even handmade chocolates. Prices on food are great. They also sell bottled liquor. Good selection but prices a little high. I would have given them 5 stars but the parking situation is terrible, especially at the lunch rush!
Delicious!
A good find. Fresh ingredients of high quality, nicely-prepared, tasty and filling.Service was efficient and fast. They seem to have a nice selection of wine, and do wine tastings. The place is a little basic, and prices are a bit stiff. But overall, a decent value for the money.
Loved it as always their choclateer is awesome check it out
Love the atmosphere. Food is quite good and reasonably priced. It was very enjoyable and I would definitely go back!
Top notch catering expireince. Dana is fabulous to work with!
Sunday brunch was delicious and quick! Bottomless mimosas for $10 cant be beat. The bagel with my Sunday sandwich was so fresh and soft I shed a single tear.
Great sandwich, friendly staff.
Jordan was sweet and an extremely amazing server. Our food was great too. We felt very comfortable. Glad we walked out of elements and decided on blue wind.
We are regular customers and I have to say, theyve been better... 3 out of the 4 sandwiches we ordered today were just okay.Hopefully this is not a sign of decreasing quality.
We had a great visit for an early evening dinner. Great wine selection, some cocktails, and lite faire at dinner time. Professional staff, nice atmosphere. Great find.
This place has the best choice of sandwiches around. Healthy options, amazing flavors, I highly recommend this coffee shop if you like good bread and good coffee.
I had such a memorable experience dining at Blue Wind Gourmet.About this time, 2 years ago I shared my first meal with the love of my life. My meal was delicious, I had (seared)Tuna over a salad. Just simple & perfectly prepared. This was my first experience dining there and also first time trying a sesame ginger dressing on the Tuna Salad with the mixture of avocado and crumbles it was AMAZING. Ive never enjoyed a salad like I did that day and every time I go by to get it still....
Good atmosphere, good food, good beer and wine selection. Great little spot to hang out, like a coffee shop but way better.
Had the ginger teriyaki salmon salad oh, oh my gosh! It was amazing! Definitely recommend love that place!
My brother and I came for the first time last week for lunch. The atmosphere of the place was very cool and something I wish we had where I lived! It’s like eating in the middle of a liquor store...who wouldn’t love that??! We came in and we expressed that we had never been to the place before, the guy and girl both looked like they didn’t care instead of explaining the process or the menu. The girl behind the counter had zero personality when I was asking about the menu and didn’t seem interested in helping me navigate...although we were the only 2 people in the whole place. The food was good, got the crab cake sandwich and the taco soup was delicious although a little over loaded with chips...would have been better on the side. Over all the atmosphere seems very cool but employees need more of a personality especially with new customers:)
The food is always amazing here. You can tell quality ingredients are used to make each meal. I always get the chef salad (which is packed full of meats and cheeses) or the Mediterranean pizza, but have had literally everything else on the menu too and its always great. This is one of my favorite places in the county to eat!
This little place you see everyday but probably dont notice is amazing! Check it out and prepare to be blown away. The staff, atmosphere, and quality is second to none.
Great all round experience ... All the staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is some of the best. Atmosphere is laid back and relaxing, and thats before you start perusing the wine and beer selection!! Highly recommend this place.
Good, but Elements has a better pan seared tuna.Downgrading to Meh. I love pan seared tuna, but this was very fatty tuna. About a third was strings of fatty tissue I had to cut out. There has to be better pan seared tuna in St Marys county than this. Robert Plant, when he owned Blue Wind, had great pan seared tuna. You bought the name, and lowered the quality. We noticed. Please bring back the quality we expect from Blue Wind.
Awesome! Had meals off the Vegan Week Menu. The Veggie Burger and the Beet Rueben was AMAZING! Can not wait to come back! Well Done Guys!
The pork trifecta sandwich on ciabatta is amazing! I was introduced to it 4 years ago on a trip out here and just got it again today. It was exactly how I remembered it. It was so incredible that I let my wife try it, she decided she wanted one instead of her gyro and she put her gyro in a to go box. Worth every penny and Ill eat this sandwich every time Im in town.
Great food and service. Busy at times, but staff always friendly and attentive.
Fresh food..great salads
This has been my second time here and both times were great! Just had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious! It was so good I ate the whole thing!! Will be back again. Thanks!
Although usually packed for lunch, we had no problems finding a table. Catfish sandwich is the best in Lexington Park! Phenomenal lunch for 2 for only $33!!!😊
Cute little eatery!
Simply walked in to buy some chocolates. No one was in line, yet it took just under 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me, and it was the chef. I let him know I wasnt in a hurry and he scrambled to find someone to help me because everyone had disappeared. When a woman finally did come to help me, she looked annoyed and didnt speak to me until she told me my total. I set my chocolates on the counter and ordered just a plain iced coffee and waited some more. Its a nice little restaurant with a college café feel. The service leaves much to be desired. The chef is the only one worth his salt there, Im afraid.
I have relocated from the DC area and the Blue Wind is an oasis in the midst of a food chain franchise strip scene. Thank goodness for at least one real food shop.
Absolutely love this place! I dont normally hang out and Im not much of a wine drinker, but I do enjoy their Chicken Pesto wrap so very much! Keep up the good work ladies and gents.
The Blue Wind food truck came to our neighborhood last night. I pre-ordered for 6pm pickup. I ended up standing in line for an hour for a couple of sandwiches (crab cake, bbq) that frankly were not very good.I asked what I assume was the manager why the long delays. She told me they didnt have reliablr internet. (Youd think that would be something youd check first if you planned to take on-line orders...)Note: Ive previously had prettty good meals when dining in at Blue Wind. They just need to work on their food truck process.
I love when their food truck comes to my work on Thursdays! I try to only eat out once a week and I make it Thursdays for this reasoning
I came here for vegan week and it was great! The Apple Tort was great!🍎 The Tacos were great!🌮Everything was great!⭐️
Great good and made fresh. Just came for the first time and definitely will be back. Amazing selections of beer/wine.
I have heard wonderful things about this place for years now. Small parking lot, which is always full. Decided to do carry out, instead. They INSISTED that a tip be added. I pointed out that its carry out. The staffer said he was aware of that. I looked to another, nearby staffer, who nodded. So, I added a couple bucks. The crabcake sandwiches were okay, but not great. They change out their signs, so it looks like the options change, which is exciting. Unfortunately, I wont be trying any of them.
I absolutely love this place. I have had it for lunch and dinner at times all their sandwiches are delicious.
I came here this morning for the unlimited mimosa the first glass they make it with the champagne and orange juice which is more orange juice than champagne. After the first mimosa they rest are premixed absolutely terrible! Not worth the money. Then me and my spouse ordered the steak and eggs and they had no steak sauce only offering Worchester sauce. How do you serve steak with no steak sauce and they steak still needed salt and pepper. We will never come back here over priced and the food was not as good.
Pretty good food. More expensive than fast food.
Unassuming store front hides a little gem in Southern MD. Fantastic food, fresh and home made in the store. Friendly service. Great atmosphere.
Crab cake sandwich is the bomb!My daughter says the chicken avacado sandwich is the best! Also a huge fan of the asparagus and goat cheese salad!!! And the environmentally friendly trays and flatware are fantastic. Thanks Blue Wind!
Very disappointed after reading some great reviews here. Had the Crab Cake sandwich which was okay but completely overpriced for what it was. The salad was fresh. Basically the place was overpriced. If you like wine and beer the have a great selection.
Little fancy spot not many people know about it i take someone different at least twice a month and they love the food! Great for hanging out with friends or a date. Food is legit!!!
We stopped for lunch last week and were very pleased with our fish sandwiches. Quick, friendly service. Id recommend Blue Wind for anyone.
Love their cookies and food is always good
Great place for delicious sandwiches, soups, salads and other fare. Unique, gormet sandwiches, not your standard deli-meat. Interesting atmosphere with tables amongst the beer, wine and liquor store selection.
Used to be very good but I couldnt find the fish in my rockfish sandwich and it was the same for the chicken sandwich we ordered.
Cant find the rum I enjoyed when under previous ownership. New ownership charges for tastings.Food was quite good. Still, having experienced the quality delivered by the previous owners...
Still and always a five-star lunch. The pork trifecta is everything I ever need.
They sell delicious rock fish wraps
Tried really hard to like this place since it is local and independent but cannot do it. Tried it 3 times and every one was a disappointment. From the disinterested help to the poorly prepared food you are better off going elsewhere.
Great lunch stop. Good sandwiches and salads. Huge beer selection.
I had an amazing crabcake sandwich, and my husband enjoyed his gluten free wrap. Cozy little place. Huge wine and beer selection - and they even do tastings!
Great food. Friendly service
Excellent local food and alcohol, love going here. Their tortilla soup is delicious
Finely crafted sandwiches are to be had at this establishment. Praised are to poured upon all who enter in.
I got their Shrimp Wrap, and oh my.... It seemed like I was eating a can of Old Bay, and my mouth was on fire. I called to ask if they were usually that bad with the spice and the guy that answered said well its not Old Bay we use and then continued to say uhhhh, uhhh very sarcastic --------I recommend putting SPICY next to the description on the menu!! Definitely a waste of time and money. Will not be going back there.
This place is not good at all and very unprofessional, they are not good people and should not be allowed to treat their customers how they do
Always has been and continues to be a winner!! Great selection, staff, and excellent food make BWG the perfect choice for, or leading up to a party....set a table (or six) aside for your event.
