Super cool bar in downtown Lexington. Really great selection of beer. I picked up some awesome bottles to take home as well.

One of the best small clubs in the country. The owner, Chris, books phenomenal music and the room sounds incredible. There is a vibe here that is so hip and unique, and I always know that whatever show I go to see on any given night will be a memorable experience.

High Rock Outfitters is a fantastic local music venue. Who would ever have thought that Lexington would be so fortunate to have such a place? The atmosphere and ambiance is great. Even at the back of the venue youre still fairly close to the stage.At some of the larger shows you can even call ahead to reserve a table. In the past the have typically used rows of chairs for showers with big turn outs. As many others have already said, there is a great selection of beer you should definitely check out.We typically try to get there 30 minutes before the show starts and have never had any problems with seating. Parking is usually pretty easy as well. Most shows happening here are later in the evening after the regular main street/uptown area traffic has cleared out.If youre looking for easy parking, try the square or in front of the old court house. The side streets along that block are good as well.

I enjoy going here and seeing friendly faces. Robbie, the bartender, is awesome! Hes knows his beer! If you become a regular and want a certain beer he will find a way to get it for you. The bands that play here are great and well worth the door fee (to pay the band).

Went and had a couple beers and listened to a live band!! It was a really fun time!! Friendly bar tender and friendly patrons!!:) Definitely would suggest this to friends!!

Had a very poor experience. Grew up in Lexington but had never been here. Heard good things and was happy to support a local business. Came in to have a few drinks. They happened to have booked a comedian tonight. The comedian wasnt funny. The comedy was very poor so we lost interest quickly and began to talk quietly amongst ourselves. We were told that if we couldnt be quiet we would have to leave. Ive never been to a place that was disrespectful to paying customers when their booked talent was insufficient. Maybe its better on nights without booked talent but tonight they were very rude.

The Best hidden secret in the Triad. Chris has nothing but 1st. Class Musicians there. Its like your favorite fishing hole! You want to tell everybody, but love having MY place for intimate music so fine!

I danced and sang and even played trivia with a group of strangers. A really cool easy going place. Theres even a dog that howls occasionally. What a sweet heart

Not very respectful of neighbors. I live 6 blocks away, have triple paned windows and the music is so loud there might as well be a band in my livingroom!Considering I have to get up at 4 am, the concert is not appreciated.

I wanted to love this place, but the “comedy night” experience left a very bad impression of the management. When a particularly unfunny act—who continued to make jokes that were racist, classist, and homophobic—did not receive my group’s full attention, we were reprimanded and told we’d need to leave. After paying a $10/person cover, we were then expected to not talk even in a whisper and applaud very poor taste. No thanks. We were excited to support a local spot, and really disappointed that this is what it had to offer.

This is the greatest bar in the world. Great beer, great hosts, great patrons, free popcorn. If you dont like this bar, I will fight you.

Local Favorite Mike Barrier (AKA: The Thermatones) made an appearance to remember & celebrate the music of a local song writer & singer with friends & the familyI Was ALSO VERY IMPRESSED with the mini-freakout i recd here - i had exited the bathroom & was standing a few steps away - when a female entered the door i just exited - did i go in the wrong one ? (oh s#!t i recalled there WASNT a wall unit) BUT NO > sign said it was the GUYS & she was just restocking towels & hand soap - lololol

High Rock Outfitters is a special place. Its a great neighborhood bar full of interesting regulars, and an excellent selection of world-class craft beer, (several of them from North Carolina). Surprisingly, the rooms physical make-up of hardwood, corragated metal, and glass create a beautiful sonic soundscape, that attracts regional and touring musicians.HRO is not just a cool bar because its in a small town. It would still be considered just as cool in any big city. High Rock Outfitters sets the bar for what a bar can be.

This is one of the best music venues in the state, and my personal favorite! The owner, Chris, is an extremely knowledgeable and friendly guy, and the service here is as courteous and friendly as youll ever find. Every band whom Ive talked to lists High Rock in there top 5 places to play, so that speaks volumes in itself! The place is, in my opinion, perfectly sized so that youre not walking into people in order to get to the bathroom, but its small enough to make each show feel like a private gig. It gives the place a very cozy informal feel and lets you easily interact with the band or whoever is on stage. You forget that youre even in the middle of town until you step outside and see the courthouse across the street. (the location is probably one of the best and coolest looking in town actually) It also gives the place a great sound, which sounds amazing as youre coming up the street and they have the doors propped open and youre unable to venture away with at least stopping by to listen to the rest of the set list!!Ive also bought quite a lot of white water kayaking gear here also. Most people dont even notice the outfitter gear unless its pointed out to them, which seems to add to the beauty of the place. You can tell straight away that the owner (Chris) puts customer experience ahead of profit in every way possible, an example being the outfitter gear is tucked away were its easy to get to and try out, yet doesnt obstruct the stage or take away from the cozy feel of the place. High Rock has everything you need to paddle local waters, but also is able to cater to us more experienced paddlers who do Whitewater. The prices are the for gear cheapest, bar none! Chris isnt afraid to go lower than the sticker price if it means making a customer happy either. Ive bought thousands worth of gear probably, everything from Astral PFDs, Werner paddles, Shred Ready TDUB & full-face helmets, Immersion Research full & shorty dry-tops. I even bought a used Dagger Nomad 8.5 that had been one of his personal kayaks, and I honestly couldnt have been happier with it.I know this is a loonnngggg review, but there simple isnt enough good things I can say about this place or the people who make places like this the magic that they are!! So, if you ever get the chance, do your life a favor and stop by!! Tell em that Oakie and/or Charlie Bob from around Elkin sent ya!!!
