Wilson Farm is one of my favorite places to shop year round but especially in the New England growing season. They have a farm in Lexington, MA and more fields for growing up in New Hampshire.Great prepared foods, baked goods, seasonal specialties, and flowers as well. The nursery has an election selection of plants too. Stop by just to shop or for one of their festive weekends, farm tours or classes.
I went to Wilson’s Farm as a mid bike ride destination via Winter st —> Watertown st —> Pleasant st and got freshly brewed black coffee with milk and sugar, one lemon meringue, and one chocolate eclair all for about $6. The freshness exceeded my expectations. The place has all sort of fresh produce including meat, freshly cut fruits, vegetables, besides having lots of fresh flowers and plants. Great vibe for a short bike ride break or just going there for weekly grocery store shopping. Prices were reasonable for the quality they offer. I was anxious they won’t let my bike in since I didn’t have a lock with me but staff were extremely polite and kind and welcoming. What’s better? They even have their own Pan MASS challenge bike team.It seems they are linked to Mercato for unlimited free delivery for a month if you wanna give them a try.
Love this place! Its huge for a farmers market and they have such great stuff, from produce, to fresh baked goods, to prepared meals and sides, to meat, and dairy and everything in between. The blueberries and strawberries looked so good. Got to taste their cold blueberry soup, which was so good! I havent gotten to tasting any of the things I bought, but I got plain bagels, a pint of orange sorbet, and a couple of cool sodas Ive never seen - Blueberry dream, and black cherry. Excited for all of it, and would love to come back! Being a farmers market, its expensive, but that just comes with the freshness, so its worth it.
Must visit local farm, always a wait but when they are making those fresh donuts in the Fall, it is worth it. Pies are my personal favorite. Great treat.🥞🍕🥓🌮🍔🍟🍹Taste of MassachusettsHelping Program Your GPS for New England--------------------------------------------Web TasteofMass.comFB-IG-LI-NEWSLETTER------------------------------------------
Really enjoyed walking around and discovering that there are so many different varieties if pumpkins. I love them! The produce, floral, decorations, etc. Were all an amazing dose of Autumn Sensory Overload and I loved it. With the exception of the young man in the floral dept, the rest of the staff acted so put out when I asked a question, a couple didnt even acknowledge me until I said hello for the 3rd time and the cashiers need to at least try and fake some enthusiasm when working at a place that is clearly a seasonal go-to for all types of folks from near and far (I met a family visiting Boston from Italy that made a special trip to the farm) that are trying to have a good time in such a beautiful Autumn wonderland.Though its not far from where I live, Ive never been before. An hour and a half by public transport. or 30 by car so I rented a car to enjoy a ride out of the city just to go here. I wont waste my time/money doing it again. But I do wish Id gotten the name of the young man in the floral dept. He was friendly to everyone, above and beyond helpful not only myself and not at all ostentatious but genuinely enjoyed what he was doing and his surroundings. He alone gets 5☆.
Enjoyable farmstand to visit for an autumn afternoon. Many varieties of pumpkins, gourds, apples, corn, etc., as well as a large selection of delicatessen items. No picnic tables, unfortunately, despite what it says online, & this place isnt really set up for on-site lunch: utensils, napkins, plates, & so on, are all difficult to find.
Good local produce (includes farm in NH) and nice setup / display. Can get busy. Very limited organic offerings.
Wow, this place has so much to choose from if you are looking for produce but also meats and bakery items. Just dont expect to find lots of processed garbage. Similar to a Trader Joes but bigger and better.
We love the place, a lot of veggies, and fresh produce.
Good produce. Fresh produce, including harder to find items. Go for eggs, produce, milk, local in season fruits. They really cant cook or bake though. Thats fine - theyre a great source for ingredients to cook at home. Pumpkin muffins are good. Roasted/grilled vegetables are OK.Really good produce. Go for the ingredients and cook or bake up something at home.
Seriously? Wilson Farm gave a box of overripe peaches from New Jersey in the CSA share this week. By purchasing the CSA, we are hoping to support the local economy and receive the local fresh produce. It is not uncommon that some local farms work together on the CSA program to provide the customers fresh produce, but ... a farm that’s 350 miles away?I am not too impressed by the quality and varieties that Wilson Farm offers in their shares as they always have better “our own” produce in their farm store. Some items in the shares seemed to be included to fix their “inventory control”.[Updated 10/8/2020] I uploaded the pictures of all items Ive got every week. These are small share and the CSA runs 18 weeks for $450.
Wasnt disappointed at all. Very good customer service, well equipped and organized. This place has something unique. It becomes especially beautiful on Halloween season. Farm has almost everything you need, apples, pumpkins, corn, all sorts of fruits and vegetables. It has a big store where you can biy all this stuff. But be careful, regular things are more expensive than in any other stores.
Best local grocery store/farm around. I highly recommend Wilsons to anyone looking for good grocery and produce
It was crowded but the long lines move fast. Nice selection of pies and baked goods as well as fresh produce.
Fresh produce, lots of it local. And able to get other odds and ends, bakery includes lovely cakes. Dairy includes milk, eggs and butter as well as yogurt. Some frozen foods as well.
Great place to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables. The bakery is also hosts a variety of treats. I love to buy the tubs of chilli made by Wilsons Farms. My kids enjoyed the scary maze and the apple cider donuts sold for Halloween. I also bought my pumpkins and carving kits here. Theres a variety of goods to be purchased including flowers.
Disappointed. Bought very nice looking eggplants but found out they are mostly rotten inside, so I threw them all away. Supposedly to be fresh and you pay high price for their products?
I’ve seen them verbally abuse their farm employees, if you agree with abuse to employees feel free to go there. Insane how that place is still open.
I always enjoy Wilsons Farms, I am lucky enough to live nearby so I can go every week. I discovered a wonderful way to enjoy my morning toast, Wilsons has pint size tubs of whipped cream in their bakery department; (not the terrible spray can stuff, real whipped cream.) I like to put it on my toast in the morning instead of butter/or one of thespreads. The whipped cream is less caloric than butter or the spread and is less sweet than jam (or jelly). I enjoy it and its so simple since Wilsons has it.Enjoy
Top notch, varied produce, some grown there. Lasts twice as long as supermarket veggies. Lots of prepared dishes & bakery goods. Great garden/ flowers and plants. Always worth the trip. Not the cheapest, but the best!!
Awesome place to visit early morning for groceries and treats
Prices are a bit high, but the quality is usually good. Just make sure you check the prices before checking out. Some things are extra expensive for some reason. Cute displays for various holidays, and autumn haystack are nice especially for the kiddos.
Fresh vegetables but pricey. Miss the outdoor food tasting stations. I do love their chicken pot pies with the biscuit tops. Bit salty for my taste though I indulge every once in awhile and this comment is for sodium conscious people.
I enjoyed looking through the many products, homemade baked goods, prepared foods, fresh vegetables, and etc. The only comment I have is it is over priced, but I know in the past my family will enjoy what my husband and I bought.
We went to Wilson Farms to get Christmas trees and the service was exceptional. I can’t remember a time that I’ve had such high quality service! Every single staff member was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help, and they all seemed to have a great sense of humor, too. The store was beautifully laid out; we were having such a good time shopping that we decided to get some plants, pots, and groceries in addition to the trees. I will definitely be going back again!
Best produce! The Best! Nice people. The garden section is also excellent.
Beautiful place . Alot of plants, both indoor and outdoor. Staff is readily available to answer all questions. Love
This is a nice boutique grocery store with a small bakery. I have been here quite a few times. This is a good place to get seasonal fruits and veg. Not all of the produce is local and most items are clearly labeled with origin. There is also a very good fresh and fake flower selection. There is a good variety of prepared foods available. There are also meats, frozen foods, and local pantry goods (honey, etc.). The bakery is pretty good, although the pie is average. I tried the cherry pie and I dont think its worth it to try another one. The crust was average and the filling was way too sweet, as if it were from a can. If you are coming here for the pie save yourself a trip and just get one from your local grocery.
Prices a little high, but the produce and staff are very nice.
This is a very popular destination, especially on the weekends, so plan accordingly. Now,where to start, the setting a working farm as the back drop,a general store with a fantastic bakery, fresh milk in glass bottles and before you walk in, you first go around a seasonal garden shop that during the fall displays 10 varieties of pumpkin, and every color of mum, that exists,Indian corn, bails of hay, your sences are on overload...Next as your getting closer to the entrance you start your food sampling, your cheek by jowl with your fellow shoppers at this point, but worth the effort, now once you enter, if you can see above or below the massive crowds youll be looking at produce, bake shop, cheese shop, self serve coffee bar, then locally butchered meat section, next dairy, butter, eggs ect...Conclusion, its definitely worth a visit.
Great selection of products. Always fresh and delicious.
Everything looks good but a little pricey
Always great and fresh produce, super baked goods and floral arrangements super Cinco de Mayo selections
Love this place. Not only am I super happy with every plant Ive bought, theyve got a super cute market as well. Most of all, Jason is the BEST. hes helped my husband and I out with our plant questions and concerns twice now. I took on a couple higher-maintenance plants and Im convinced if I hadnt talked to him theyd be dead. Literally, the nicest guy ever, great energy and very thorough when helping out customers. 12/10 for Jason.
My Mom brought me to shop at Wilson Farms in 1978 when it was actually a farm stand. Im still shopping here. So fresh. Pleasing to the eye. And in our present COVID time I feel safe shopping here.
This time of year I always show up for their corned beef brisket. They make one of the better ones you can buy to prepare for St. Pattys Day
Found this place looking for a Christmas tree, but found a country grocery store, a craft shop, a florist and a garden center! Great Christmas trees and other essentials. Plan to spend some time looking at their baked goods and specialty foods.
Love this place, but they have consistently done a very poor job encouraging social distancing, and have only gotten worse. It is nearly impossible to properly social distance, and while there’s great airflow in the outdoors part, there is little airflow near the cashiers (packed in two to a register, with every registered filled making it impossible to really social distance) and in the rest of the indoor part. Unfortunately in the current state of the work, health and safety protocols for reducing the spread of Covid-19 take priority for me over shopping at Wilson farms, and I hope to find a new favorite local farm to shop at that takes social distancing seriously. The whole point of shopping local is supporting local businesses, and I cannot support a local business that chooses to endanger their customers and employees by not limiting the number of people in the store, and not setting up guidelines and one way aisles to make social distancing easier
Huge variety. Best plants veggies and general store ever.
They have the best produce!!! Also delicious prepared foods. We also love their bread and cheese selection. To the low lifes complaining about social distancing, we have had to wait in a line every week for the past few months to enter the store- because they are LIMITING THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS! It is not any more crowded than any other store of a similar size!
A favorite place to take the family. It is so lovely here and their section of produce is top notch.
Wilson Farm is a beautiful place. It is very expensive but it offers top quality products. I love their share program, it is really worth it: fruit and veggies are freshly produced and are just great, it feels healthy to consume seasonal products. Easy to understand why they have been in business for so long.
Food is delicious. Try their cookies, sauce, cakes, anything. Also, definitely keep an eye out for any special events, like their strawberry festivals! Thankfully, these are well managed, even with a good-sized crowd. Prices are expected for a farmers market.
I just left Wilson’s as I was there with my specialneeds dog and a young woman came over and just said “ hi sir we don’t allow dogs in here”. She didn’t have the courtesy of asking, sir is this a service animal?, sir can we do anything?”I have been a patron of this business for 15 years. The ignorance in this question took my desire to return here. Headed to Russo’s.I don’t want to got to a place that promotes intolerance.
Wilson Farm is a go-to for our family for regular grocery shopping and fun activities around fall time, but recently we enlisted their bakery for a custom cake for our gender reveal party and we were very impressed. I sent them a photo of what I wanted and the result was exactly that (and better), and the cake itself was delicious. Everyone raved about it, and it was very reasonably priced as well. Thank you Wilson Farm! Highly recommend their bakery!
Used to love it and buy all my fresh produce there. Prices have gone up far more than at other farms.
This is a nice market but just terribly over priced. Normal grocery items are double the price at most supermarkets. I stopped in at Wilsons just for a snack and something to drink. That cost me $15!
Awesome place and even better owner. A true brave patriot. Keep the faith! We support you!
Great local foods. Plenty choices.
A bit full during the holiday season, but with nice staff. Someone helped me pick out the perfect gift basket.
Amazing farm market. Had everything you want and need. Super fresh local produce, beautiful flowers and plants, good quality meat and cheese in a cozy atmosphere. My happy place.
Very fresh product, though a bit pricy. But we do not mind paying a bit more for quality. One thing we advise is to stay away from the “Wilson Farm Jelly”. Made the mistake of getying it (grape) instead of the imported excellent jellies on same shelfs. Wow! Loaded with sugar, ultra sweet, and made with juice. . It is not good at all, way way to sweet and jst like flavored jello. Wilson should really revisit the recipe from which it is made from outside vendor. I mean, really a lousy product that I would not even give to kids loving sweets. But, other than that discovery, they have excellent fresh quality product.
Carl & I just had the Valentine’s dinner for two made by our friend Ramon Ost. Outstanding!!. It came with a heart balloon & a rose & rose petals. The food was so good & just the right amount. Carl really surprised me with this cuz we don’t usually do Valentines Day,“Everyday is Valentine’s Day for us”Thx again Ramon, what a great idea.Sincerely, Sharyn & Carl Dale
Kinda crazy busy, maze was unremarkable
Great food great staff
What a wonderful farmers market. Excellent selection of produce which is often grown on location! Got a blueberry pie which, while I havent gotten a chance to eat yet, looks fantastic.
I used to like Wilson farm for their fresh spinach and excellent flower selection, though some of their prices were a bit high. After learning how much they donated to Trumps campaign I cannot in good conscience shop there again.
Fresh produce, cheeses, some meats, and a bakery all overlooking one of their farms. They also have prepared frozen foods. Everything we have bought is delicious and lasts longer than the big box stores.
Always a wonderful experience for getting our Christmas tree, wreath and some cider donuts! Excellent customer service and great trees and food!
Over priced for the most part, the pastry selection all looks beautiful but is pretty meh. Ive been able to find romanesco there when it’s been hard to find elsewhere which is always good. It’s a cute shop and it’s family run which is always a bonus, HOWEVER Jim Wilson is a hardcore Trump supporters so just know that whatever money you give to him is being funneled up to the current administration.
Great varieties of fruits veggies flowers milk products and breads.Fresh food and pleasant atmosphere
Wilson’s is the best. Great hard working family. We are lucky to have this great business in Lexington. Thank you!!
Awesome place. So many good choices of foods. Give this place a shot. You wont be disappointed.
Gave $30,000 to Trump. Love the place, but I cant deal with the politics and attitude here.
Great grocery store with options from their own farm and many other organic and local farms. Great atmosphere.
Best selection of fresh produce, a lot grown right there. Staff are excellent, love this place, it’s our new go to.
The best Christmas tree selection, quality and prices around 50 miles !
A favorite of our entire family for many years! Gorgeous produce, unique local edibles and gifts so unique youll want to get more for yourself!
Have loved this place for years. Great variety of fresh produce, organic meats, flowers and prepared foods. Its a treat every time I go.
Lovely farm store, lots of variety of vegetables, bakery and dairy. Beautiful flowers too.
Great place, freshest veggies and fruits, home baked goods, all grown there on their own farms!!
They have excellent sandwiches and nice, helpful employees. Good Covid-19 policies. Order your sandwich ahead and pick it up!
I love Wilsons Farm, and shop there monthly. I shopped for the first time since social distancing today, and will not go back until social distancing is over. While they have signs saying to respect social distancing, neither the clientele nor the staff were observing it - while I was waiting my turn I had >10 people come right next to me (within a foot) to stock shelves and buy products. They need to institute actual social distancing and one-way shopping before I will consider it safe enough to shop there.
Love the place. Little pricey but worth it. Husband loves the fresh bread.
First off, ALWAYS SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FARMS & AGRICULTURAL PROGRAMS. Wilson Farm is only a handful of working farms in metropolitan Boston -- and it has grown with the times, adding one-stop shopping and prepared meals to its stand. The produce is marked with its locale of origin and other small and local/regional producers receive prime space in the store. They have COVID-19 precautions when the store gets busy.
As others have pointed out the CSA is not exactly local food so just be aware if thats what you think you are signing up for. One of the biggest changes over the course of the CSA was the huge amounts of corn they padded each week out with. If we had a side soda business that needed corn syrup, that would have been fine but instead it pushed us to sign up for a compost service because even our neighbors ended up refusing our excesses.
Senior hour at Wilson is excellent. Customers outnumbered by staff. Can get all the things like peaches and avocados that arent available online
Great fresh fruit
Just moved back to MA, heard that Wilson Farms was a great place for not only food but flowers as well. Went and checked it out last week. I am now addicted to the single serve pot pies!!
Got a great Christmas tree there and everyone was very helpful.
My new local farm stand!!!!!
