When I had contacted them about my interests in a sectional couch, Jasmine was by the far the best person to go. Communication was on point and she always replied fast. They services are very outstanding and this place is very recommended. I will be going to pick me out some furniture after I was shown a few sectional couches. If you need to buy anything from them, this place is the go-to.

Do not shop at this furniture store. I only had couch and loveseat 8 months and threads are coming out of both. When the furniture arrived I should have known it was going to be a problem. The furniture came wrapped in some type of blue wrap. If you are looking for quality furniture look elsewhere, dont make the mistake I did. KEEP IT MOVING!!

Terrible experience, purchased a bedroom suit, dresser tore up first week, owner came out and patched it up, promised to replace never did, a bunch of junk furniture, just trashed the the headboard, bad part about it Im still making payments on furniture that has already tore up

A year and a half ago I wanted to buy a sofa with a chaise on the end. After shopping around for quite a while, these guys had the best price, and the models they offered were exactly what I was looking for. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I looked around the store for a while and took my time, finally deciding on the model I currently own. I was advised that they had a return of this model for a discounted price and I jumped at the chance. I was advised that the sofa was in like-new condition, but when it arrived it had a few blemishes... I honestly didnt mind because I wasnt paying full price. The sofa does its job well and its still in good condition almost 18 months later. I have to say Im absolutely satisfied with my purchase. Thanks.

Mr. Council is a very rude and not a professional. At first seemed nice, once we bought : dining room set, living room, bedroom, and dresser our sectional we bought just 1 month later the wood broke. ( $1,400) he came to our house and clearly saw it was bad, they had to come back twice to fix it. Had the odasity to say if we were jumping on our couch. Never again !!!!

Very nice place to get furniture. Staff very friendly. They try to make sure you get what you want. Just like their advertising state. I havent personally shop there but I took a relative of mine there. They make sure she was taken care of and they follow up with you.

My husband and I have always received quality service from Mr. Councils and his daughter(s). If something does not turn out right, he is very amendable to making changes or working with you. Communication is important.

I had a terrible experience with Councils Furniture and Mattress. Initially I was so excited to shop for furniture at Councils. The day that I ordered my furniture Mr. Councils daughter, Jasmine, helped me make selections and assisted me with my purchase. She seemed very nice and customer service savvy. The next day I decided to make a change to my order and called her to inform her of the changes I wanted to make, she seemed angry about my decision but I decided to proceed because the bottom line is that I spend my hard earned money on products that I want. She advised me that since I changed my order the product would not be available until a month or so later. After month went by, I called to check to see if it was available. She told me it would be another month until it comes in (the first week in April). Again I was fine with that because it seemed fair since I did change my selection. On the other hand, there were other items that were ordered during my initial visit that I still had not received. I called her in late March to inquire about my furniture, at that time she informed me that the table would be available the first week in April. When ask about the other furniture that I ordered she said she would need to check on it. She called me back and stated the furniture would be available a few days after the table is delivered and she did not know what happened to my order. My impression was that she simply forgot or blatantly ignored my order. Due to that fact that I should have had my furniture months earlier, minus the table that was (Im guessing) on back order I ask her for free delivery. I feel as if that was the least Councils Furniture could have done since my order was totally disregarded and Id been patiently waiting for months. When I ask Ms. Jasmine Council about the possibility of free delivery she stated, with a terrible attitude, I will let you know tomorrow, and she hung up in my face. There was no reason for her to be angry with me, Im the one that should have been angry. Since then I have not spoken to any member of the Councils Furniture and Mattress staff. Also, Ive not received the last few pieces of furniture that I am currently making payments on. Honestly, I do not want the furniture, I would rather take my business elsewhere. The bar stoles that I purchased from Councils are already falling apart and Ive only had them since February. My advice to anyone out there in the market for furniture DO NOT GO TO COUNCILS FURNITURE AND MATTRESS!! Ms. Jasmine Council has the worst attitude Ive ever encountered at any business establishment. When my friends, co workers, family members, etc. inquire about where to purchase furniture I immediately advise them to avoid this store.

I recently visited Councils after hearing a radio commercial. The service was excellent, the selection of furniture is also good. They really went out of their way to assist me and help me find what I was looking for. The monthly payments are affordable and I got my furniture quickly.BTW I am a Caucasian woman who also resides in Lexington. After reading the last review Im appalled and dont find it to be true.(at least from my experience)Welcome D. Council.Thanks.

Before even getting to the store, I called to take care of my order over the phone and then complete it in person. The staff was courteous, efficient and very knowledgeable of the products in the store. By the way, Jasmine was fantastic!

When I first came in to purchase a sectional, they seem friendly and willing. After talking, its obvious it more hunger for money than customer service. He was talking to fast to even remeber what he promise. They charge me the down payment and told me the other 100 wouldnt be charge until it was delivered but it was charged on my way out the door. He told me it would be here that following Thursday or Friday but it came a additional week and a half later. Didnt receive no call it was in. And when it did come, he took it to a different address. Never again.

We purchased a king size bed with drawers attached to it, in less than a year the bed had broken. The drawers on the side pieces feel apart and the wood under the bed broke. We were suppose to have a warranty but the owner Darryl Council made every excuse of why he couldnt honor the warranty. My wife finally went into the store and the owners daughter told us that they have had several issues with that bed and now the bed is installed differently. So apparently we got a defective bed. The owner finally came to our home looked at the bed and looked in our face and said he was ordering a new set for the bed. A month later we still have a broken bed sitting in our bedroom. Do not waste your money with this crook. People around town tell me this company was previously in Batesburg SC but had to leave b/c of the bad dealings and lies from the owner. Buyer BEWARE

We went here April 2017 trying to support a black owned business. Here again we got burned. The customer service in person was excellent but after the sale horrible. Im paying for a $3000 den set to which we have a recliner we cant sit in that leans to the side when someone sits in it. Still waiting on a replacement but keep getting put off. The owner came to our home a checked the chair himself and found it to be a possible factory defect and has yet to follow up with us. Ive gotten better service from the big box stores.

Awful Mr. Council start off nice and concerned. Once you make a purchase his Customer Service flies right out the window. I bought furniture in May and got it in October. Can you believe he wanted me to Pay before I got the furniture. Who does that? Then he want to pop off about what if and references other furnitute companies, He will tell you one thing and dont relay information to staff. His commercial is a life. Wolf in sheep clothing! I could say more but I will keep you posted every time he pop off. So unprofessional I see why you dont have a storefront anymore just a junky store with books to look at. I guess I should of read the reviews first.

This was the worst shopping experience of my life. This place is so racist that I was afraid walking out to my car. I cant even believe the nerve of these folks, if you arent black, dont bother. There is no deal here for you unless you are one of them! This is just one more confirming example of the stereotypes that they try to hold against the rest of us. If you are looking for a good deal on average import furniture, youd better not be anything other than one of them. Never again will I visit Dariel!
