Decided to check out what they had. I’m no athlete and I’m not a “bike person” but I felt welcomed here. Didn’t feel judged, unlike other bike stores I’ve been in. It was nice and so I purchased a Giant Roam 3. Love it. Great service, very friendly and they truly know their stuff. Absolutely coming back for my kids bike.

Life Cycle is the best - helpful, professional, high quality and customer focused. I live 20 minutes drive away and pass many bike stores to get to them - both larger chains and family owned business - but none compare to the way Life Cycle provides help and service. There is no other bike store that I will go to. They recently went way out of their way for me to check out shifters/brakes and then to replace a cassette. They were nothing short of great. I have stopped by on rides where others had mechanical issues and they dropped everything to help us get back out on the road. They have me as a loyal customer for life and I cannot say enough good things about them.

I had an excellent experience with lovely friendly and helpful staff! As soon as a staff saw me in the parking lot, she greeted me and wanted to help me out. She assisted me very actively and kindly even from the parking lot to the store. She took my bike to the mechanic. He repaired my bike diligently, gladly and incredibly. I am grateful for his help and the whole team at the cute and neat bike shop! Absolutely I will come back this shop and I recommend this place for all of your bike needs. The guy who runs this place (I think) is pretty cool. Too bad theres a bike shortage however so I had to buy a Bike at a department store. Ill come when this bike finally breaks on me.

There are 5 or 6 bike shops in my area. But the Lifestyle Cycle is the only bike shop I go for all my bike needs.

Over the past few years Ive purchased a Trek trailbike for my son and a Jamis trailbike for my wife. Fred has rebuilt my Specialized crossbike with a complete new set of wheels, drive grouping and shifters. Would not go anywhere else for what he and his staff handle in such a professional and courteous manner. Besides, its just a fun place to stop by for anything bike related or a quick bike chat!

Very courteous and helpful the two times Ive gone. They checked out our bikes and tuned the brakes on my kids bike. They also were knowledgeable and answered my questions which probably is basic, but I had no experience. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience today! I thought I needed new brakes and was prepared to leave my bike for a couple of weeks. He took a quick look at it and said it just needed an adjustment and did it right there. I was in and out in 15 minutes for much less than I was anticipating! Awesome customer service!

I visited this shop last week (end of June) and although they have an obligatory mask note on the door when I entered there was 3 clients with no mask at the counter and 1 out of 2 employees without a mask.I left and will never go back. Bought my bike down the road...After three months you would think the guys understand reality..Avoid always...no idea about health or rules. You would think someone in sport would understand Covid!!!!!

Was here a month or so ago and got great service, despite the store having no inventory. Any update on inventory expectations would be appreciated. Been coming to Lifestyle Cycle for a few years now despite the fact that theyre 15 miles away from where I live. Awesome assistance from people with tons of knowledge not only pertaining to the bike, but power meter technology. They also have a pretty cool indoor studio! Very helpful service and they communicate well regarding the status of your equipment. Definitely would highly recommend this shop for bikes and service.

I went here to get a cable repaired. I cant express how happy I am with the service, the interaction, and the easy whole repair process was. I was given clear details on what was going to be repaired, and what was going to happen.We also got a standard tune up. The bike looks like it is brand new.Everything was done in one day. One day. While this may not be standard, I apprecaited the speed and the honest, upfront candor the staff showed. They told me right away what was needed, and what the time frame would be.Wow. I will be going here for all my cycling needs. My wife and I have road bikes that we use on the libertyville trails to old school, adler, and independence grove. Lifestyle Cycle now has all of our cycling business.Honestly, I couldnt be happier.

August 2019. OK. So Fred really is the best bicycle mechanic I’ve ever met. I was expecting to give up my bike for two or three days and spend a ton of money on replacement parts. Instead, I was in and out in 20 minutes, he repaired the root cause. I paid a fair price, and have my favorite bike working like new. This is the place to go.May 2020 UPDATE: Stopped in today with my wife’s 25+ year old bike which she still loves. Do we replace it or see if it can be fixed? Fred takes a look and immediately recognizes the whole configuration, zeroes in on the right components, schedules the work. He didn’t try to up-sell us into a new bike.While he was writing it up, a dad and daughter walk in holding some bike part in his hands; they somehow lost the part that screws into that part. Dad has his wallet out, daughter is looking embarrassed for losing a critical part. Fred is 8 feet away, cracks a joke, reaches into a new parts bin under the counter, pirates the right part off of a new assembly, and places it in dad’s hands. No charge.Seriously. Who does that?I love this place.

My family purchased an indoor cycling bicycle and attempted to put it together ourselves. When we ran into problems, I called Lifestyle Cycle to ask if they were able to help with the assembly. Fred had me bring the partially assembled bike in and then quickly fixed the problem we were having with it. The turnaround time from phone call to fixed problem was less than an hour!! This place is incredible, down to earth staff. Richard helped us and unfortunately this is his last week there. Fred and Jessica, the owners are awesome, offering coffee or water and providing great conversation.They didnt upsell or oversell, they dont mark up anything. They sell a great atmosphere, and more importantly, friendship for everyone. We got a sweet bike, test drove a few around the neighborhood and never felt pressured to buy anything. I walked right in and out within about 25mins with a brand new bike and the staff was so awesome! They have me great tips and showed me how to take of my new bike. I am the Assistant Manager at the Sparrows Nest Thrift Store and Donation Center in Mundelein. We received a racing bike from a donor and it was missing a seat and needed air in the tires. I took it to Fred at Lifestyle Cycle to have him replace the seat, so the bike would be complete. I was going to pay to have the seat replaced, but to my surprise he donated the seat, filled the tires and gave me info about the bike. Fred is a super nice guy and is very generous! Hands down, these are the best Bikes we have ever bough, but honestly, its more than just the hardware with these guys. When you purchase your bikes from owner Fred, you are also getting an insane amount of attention, knowledge, service and expertise. You get the feeling they are really vested in your satisfaction with the entire experience! It gave us confidence in our purchases and our decision to make a meaningful investment in our riding.

We came to Lifestyle Cycle to purchase a new big for my 8 year old son. Fred and Jess were so helpful in not only helping us find a great bike at a good price, but they also took my son out in the back alley to try the bikes out to ensure he was comfortable on them. I am sure you can find lower end brand bikes for less money at big box stores, but you wont find the high quality, genuine caring for the right fit, or the expertise at those places. Fred is amazing! We bought a pedicab from China, and it needed a lot of work. Fred was willing to make house calls (3 trips!) to my house in Gurnee to get the pedicab up and running. His fee was very reasonable (quite frankly, he didnt charge enough!), and he has earned a customer for life. Now, every time I take my special needs boys for a ride in my pedicab, I will be thanking Fred!

Its been a long time since Ive been to a business that was run so well. They fixed issues with my bike as a result of another shops work. Im a gearhead but new to cycling and they were completely open and willing to discuss everything that was being done. Not only a passion for cycling and a depth of knowledge but also very honest. We talked about potential services and I was actually told to wait and defer them for sometime when they would be more effective. Really happy to have found this place!

Im only giving this place 5 stars because there isnt an option for 6. I was on the receiving end of a hand-me-down kid bike from my co-worker, that had a broken piece at the brake lever. I stopped by after work, Fred took a look at his bag of parts but couldnt find the exact size needed since it was an older model bike - and they dont commonly use that size anymore. He was able to pull a spare part off a donation bike in the basement and hooked me up with what I needed. He noted another broken component on the front brake, and had it ready for me the next day for a surprisingly low price (he didnt even charge me for the used part that was my initial focus).The entire staff is friendly, but Fred the owner knows his bikes (it shows), loves bikes (it shows), and provides excellent, friendly customer service. Hes got a customer for life - I highly recommend this place!
