Ordered the 115 Suzuki in mid January and the engine was on backorder until the end of March. I got a call mid March and 1 week later we are cruising on the lake. Lincolnton Marine was very professional and informative during the process of installing my brand new Yamaha motor on my boat. They did an excellent job. Running my wires and tune the boat to perform and ride perfect. They were clean and respectful towards the interior of my boat during install. We have been doing business with Lincolnton Marine and Jeremy for years and not only do they give great service but great quality and they are so trustworthy. Always up to date with knowledge and techniques.We have purchased boats, motors, etc., and they stand behind their work plus give great deals.No matter size or age of your boat, they treat everyone the same and go above and beyond to get any problem solved and get you back on the water as quickly as possible. They know how important it is to us to have our toys maintained. We live approximately 2 hrs drive from the Marina but the service is worth the drive. Overall bad experience with a used boat purchase. As they do with all their used boats they check and verify condition and function of various systems or so they claim. I was sold a boat in running condition with working gauges so I thought. Got it home and first time out engine dies multiple times and will not idle. Fuel and RPM gauges are non functional.Called Mike and Jeremy up and they advised to bring it back and they would check it out and let me know what is found wrong and go from there. I mentioned I thought they already checked it before sale and while they said yes they wanted to check again. I made the trek from west of Atlanta over to Lincolnton with boat in tow. Spoke with both Mike and Jeremy and they would look at it and call me Weeks went by with no call so I called a couple times over that 2 week period and was told weather bad but planning to water test and inspect soon.Next thing I know Johnny (service mgr) called me saying my boat is ready and a bill is due of $500+ dollars. I was in shock since I never approved or knew of any repairs being done. Needless to say NO ONE ever called me to approve or discuss ANY needed repairs on this boat. I NEVER asked them to fix anything but to check it out and let me know what was found.I spoke with Jeremy a few times on this unfair business practice of fixing my boat without prior approval and never even calling me. He does not care to discuss other than the blanket statement of we did whats right and reduced the cost and fixed your boat I never approved any cost without discussing with me first. Nor did I sign any document agreeing to any repairs. Just the verbal inspection request.I have never dealt with a company who does not first approve cost and needed repairs with a customer first before performing them. Needless to say I still do not have my boat back due to them not willing to drop the $500+ charges or even reduce them due to their error in repairing my boat without approval.
