I must say I went into this place with my oldest son just to check it out while we waited on food. We instantly loved it. My son and I really like old and new games so it was a cool place to visit. Lots of things to see. Ended up buying a game that day for him too. I got to talking to the owner about some things I had around the house like a SNES, and some other items to go with it plus a lot of games. He told me to bring it by and let him have a look. I did that today and he is more than fair in my opinion. I know he has to make money on these items but I was shocked at the price he gave me. I’ll definitely be visiting this place more often and even try to be my other sons in as well.

This is a great little retro video game store! Ill say right up front its not as polished as some of the other places. Its an old building and its got some old stuff in it. We call it treasure. ;)When you enter youll find the newer titles for the modern systems up on the wall to your right. If you follow that wall to the back of the store there are old arcade games back there in various states. Some work, some dont. Others look like they are being restored. In the middle youll find bins full of cartridges going back to the Atari 2600, NES, Super NES, N64, and I believe I saw some PS1 stuff as well. Finally along the left wall is the counter which has some of the nicer items in it along with stuff on the wall behind the counter. Some very cool old school stuff back there.Before checking out I had a chance to talk to the owner. I was wearing my OG Bullet Club shirt and only a wrestling fan is going to know what that is. We had a great chat about wrestling, gaming, etc. Cool dude. Also I watched him work a couple of trade-ins while I was there he more than generous compared to any Gamestop and many other retro stores. I was happy to see that and look forward to coming back next time Im in the area.

We were just stopping in from the coffee shop next door . There was a wide range of games from Atari to Xbox one . They also have a number of classic arcade cabinets in the back, a number of them were not functioning, but still something fascinating to checkout. They have classic horror movies and comic books. We found a couple of used Xbox 360 games and paid about 25$ total. Looks like a group of friends were chatting and playing magic the gathering in the middle of the store. Neat store in the little downtown area.

I went here a few weeks ago to have a Wii game scrubbed of scratches. Our game works perfectly now, great customer service. I will return here for any gaming needs in the future. Friendly atmosphere.

When it comes to knowledge and great deals my whole family chooses Game Swap. We look forward to the day trips this location turns out to be as we sometimes end up spend an hour or 2 in there. My son even plays with the owners daughter occasionally. Never had any issues with the merchandise purchased as well as the ability to trade out for more desired items. Thanks to this store my son is now able to live in the old world of gaming because I was able to trade for an original NES system with Super Mario. He loves it and its all thanks to this store for it. Im also a sticker fanatic and their selection is enough to appease my appetite. Thanks guys. Well see you next time!

Do not buy any cartridges games from this place. They do not check their games to see if they work and wont give you a refund. I went in to buy super Mario advanced and brought it home but it didnt work. The cartridge was fake and when I went in to get a refund, the said they didnt give refunds and they also dont check their games. The guy working there gave me the money back but made me feel uncomfortable to ever return there again. It is a good video game store but if they dont check the cartridges, I wouldnt risk it.

Sold me ms. Pacman. Joystick doesnt work properly. It doesnt go up and down and side to side right. He said well I showed u it worked. Yes for 2 seconds. I sold him alot of stuff from storage clean outs and friends and he made much money off the deals we gave him yet rips me off 20 bucks. I was actually surprised. I thought he was a decent person. I dont recommend and will let my friends know not to go there

Amazing place and the seller is really friendly and doesnt overcharge at all. Has a really laid-back atmosphere and a cool arcade in the back. Awesome gaming rarities on the walls and a great selection of everything from 70s on up. Id definitely recommend this shop.

Really enjoyed looking around the store and it was great to go into a small place and not be hassled by staff while browsing. The guy was kind of rude during checkout though. Dont really expect someone to cut a customer off mid sentence when theyre asking a question.

Dont go if your expecting good deals on anything. The guy only knows how to price things by 5s... $4.99, $9.99, $14.99 etc... Sorry but not paying more that much for Madden 2001 when I can go to video game world and get it for half the price. Plus newer games are more expensive used here than they are new elsewhere.Reply to owners response... Well Im sorry I didnt see your dollar bin wherever it was. But Im referring to all the OG Xbox games that are all mostly sun faded from being at the front of the store. And second, we were passing through since we are not from that area. I have never bought anything and have never called you once. So good job trying to drag someone else down with you, now I wont be back to search for games Im needing.

I visited the store for my first time on Saturday or Sunday ( not good with days ) I personally really liked it bought 7 .25c games and 9 one dollar objects (controllers and other miscellaneous items) out of the 7 games 4 did not work and 2 of the one dollar items did not work along with 2 of the items that partially workedCustomer service: 10/10The person (not good with names) is really nice and helpful so that is great.Variety: 8/10Now this I cannot be specific about because i was not able to stay long but the game selection for Xbox one and certan games was low.Atmosphere: 7/10Again I cannot be specific about this because I was not able to look around the store allot I wish I was able to it wasOverall I had a great experience in this establishment and was very happy in the end with how many low cost items work so I give it a 9/10 (I will change the rating for this after getting a better look.)

For starts, this place has an arcade.They also have a MASSIVE collection of oldies. Not exactly the place for current titles, but if you need somthing from 79-99 this is your place. Do yourself a favor and stop by for memorys sake, at the least.

This trash pit called Game Swap sold me a defect item off of eBay, & refused to give me a simple refund. Wont let me give a zero star review so 1 star will have to do.

Wish this place was better since a small business in downtown lincolnton but its not only like 5 games available for xbox 1 and ps4 and no controllers if your looking for nes or Atari games ok they got you covered. It seems like everytime Ive walked in they were JUST OUT of what im looking for. Im just gonna starr making the drive to Game Stop and stop disappointing myself

My kid loves vintage games and systems, and the owner and employees are always eager to help him find what hes looking for. Ive seen some recent negative reviews, and I find that really disappointing, because Im always trying to support small businesses. A family owned business is the kind that knows you and knows what you want and need. We have never had anything but great experiences at Gameswap and I would recommend it to anyone near Lincolnton. Buy local!

Usually the Disks I buy here work, tonight I bought Rainbow Six Siege from you guys, and unfortunately the disk is having issues installing on the Xbox One, and there appears to be a small, thing scratch or laser burn around the inner middle ring, leading off into a unclosed triangle shape on one spot before resuming its circular shape, I dont know if you do refunds, or what, as Ive never had an issue before, to help clarify what night, it was Ian on the counter and you guys having a WWe tournament in the back. The issue primarily seems to cause my Disk to stop its installation at 2.04, 12% on my Xbox, every time.

I love game stop its the only place I go. But last night I walked in wanting to swap and buy 2K17. So I I brought in to trade Grand Theft Auto and 2K16. Well GTAV was in a clear plastic case. The Owner said that he cant take that one because he doesnt buy lose case games. I politely said I understand and stated that I purchased the game from Game Swap. He stated that I couldnt have because he doesnt sell them, meaning Im lieing. I honestly could care less if I get the game that night or not and I only go to them because normally they are fair and I like to shop at local businesses. So I said I could put my hand on the Bible and swear I bought it from there. He restated he knows I didnt and said, Im the owner in a rude defensive voice. I replied that I didnt want to argue and left quietly. Im very unpleased at how I was treated and will not return unfortunately. If the owner is reading this since I couldnt get a word in. I purchased the game 2 years ago, I traded in COD Black ops and FIFA 13, you didnt have it on the shelf but you pulled a cardboard card box out from behind the counter and found one. Now how could I remember that if it didnt happen?

I love coming in and talking with the staff at GameSwap. They are always helpful and are willing to just shoot the brease with you. Also you dont have to be just interested in games to go in they hsve comics as well as Magic the Gathering cards. I have seen some of the bad reviews however they just seem base less and jaded. I wouldnt let the few bad apples sway anyone away from this great establishment. Also side note compaired to Gamestop and any of the other stores this one is by far the best and smoothest to deal with.
