New ownership. I rarely post negative reviews, and I used to enjoy this place, but I wish I had read the most recent reviews. The wings were barely warm, and werent as flavorful. To make it worse, it was more expensive. $12 for the equivalent of 3 whole wings.

New owners. Not as good. I’m sad they were my favorites. The store has been rearranged. The kimchi was 4$ and was too fresh. The bulgogi was just okay. The wings were not crispy and i ordered spicy and they were not that, but burnt with some gooey stuff on them. And my total was 51?!

New review: Dong Ah it is now under new, non-Korean, owners who seems to still offer the same Korean fare. However, its far from the original. Ive had ordered chicken wings twice already and its not fluke. The chicken does not look fresh, the meat has a pink tinge (after the skin is peeled). Its also very expensive, its $15 more than the usual price. I dont think Ill be coming back.(review from a year ago)The wings are excellent. You really have to go in the store and tell the man your order (small $10, large $30) and you wait about 5-15 minutes depending on the size of your order. Calling ahead doesn’t really work, not sure the proprietors speak or understand English very well. But it doesn’t matter, the wings are great. The shop also looks like a run down abandoned store house, again not important, the wings are fabulous! It’s cash only but you don’t have to tip!

This store has pretty much everything you need in a grocery market.

This is a super small mom n pop grocery store with a kitchen that makes a few catering/carryout items. The draw (for me at least) are the Korean chicken wings. Theyre awesome and reasonably priced. Fifteen bucks gets you a decent sized tray that feeds 3-4 people. So good, so garlicky. They are a cash only business, so dont try to use a credit card.

LOVE the wings! But the last time I went in there it looked like the place was robbed or something. The shelves were bare, garbage on the floor, old kimchee in the cooler, etc. Yeah the wings are some of the best Ive ever tasted. But clean up your store.

Small local Korean market that also caters food. Wife ordered some food for a large group but they didn’t have it ready at all when she arrived. Had to wait 30 mins for them to prepare it even after calling ahead.

Small mom and pop catering shop. Wings are super reasonably priced and are delicious! We paid about $5 dollars for their smallest serving and it came with ten giant pieces. One of the best wings Ive had in Chicago!

I asked if they had BiBimBap, Chap Chae, Doenjang. Old Korean guy who works behind the counter tells me, in rudest voice possible, Sorry we dont have that, when I see the Chap Chae on the refrigerator shelf in front of both of us.Bad day? Racism? Either way I much prefer Gohyang Food Market on California. For better selection, take the ride to Joong Boo on Kimball, Assi, or H-mart.
