Cant thank Ralph and Vinny enough. They are the best boat mechanics around . Funny thing is all the other marine mechanics that I know call on them when they need help or advise. They are worth the wait because when you get your boat back its done right. Tired of bringing my boat to mechanics and not getting problems done right the first time and have to keep bring it back the whole season. Delivery and parts are out of there control with Covid 19 but they always figure out a way to get it done right. Thank you guys
Vinny and RALPH since the day we had to put a new motor on our boat have been the best. They always provide my husband and I with the best service possible. When 100’s of people are trying to get their boat in the water they always seem to make us feel like we are number 1. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Dropped a motor off the last week of June to get basic carburetor work done. Needless to say I called each week and got the same story “your motors next up I’ll give you a call Monday”. Well I never got any phone calls back and my motor sat there till mid august until I went there and picked it back up after they didn’t even pull the cowl off. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
I bought a boat with a 1990 Evinrude 225hp just over a year ago. I was surprised I got an entire season out of the tired old motor... while looking for a lower unit gasket I was referred by a local dealer to lindenhurst outboard. What a find! I made the call and their mechanic Matt answered my call. He was very professional and most helpful in confirming they had the part and I could come down anytime toPick it up. In a 2 minute call I knew I was lucky to find this place and Matt made a great 1st impression for this company. When I got thereI was amazed to find they had everything someone would need for older motorsNot all of us can repower at 15k-30k. When I drained the oil from the lower unit nothing but water came out. I knew that wasn’t good. Clearly I had a bad seal. I brought the lower unit in and I decided to purchase a rebuilt one from them. I installed it myself with the helpFrom Matt with a few phone calls I was up and running He always took my call and continued to instill confidence this place was going to be a great resource. A few weeks later (early June 2020) I developed a loud knock in the engine. The mechanic at my marina did a compression check and immediately told me the 1st cylinder he tested had zero compression. His recommendation was to use it til it blew up. Seemed odd but I understood and found out very few mechanicsWould work on a motor this age. AfterCalling around and hearing how busy everyone was and a few said they’d be happy to look at it in November or December I was confident my season was over. I of course called lindenhurst outboard. Well today is July 24th and my block which was in good shape wasCompletely rebuilt all new pistons and rings plus a few other things were replaced. She went back in the water yesterday! However thankfully they guys didn’t rush to send me off they insisted a bay test and they found a fuelProblem which they immediately fixed and I only lost 12 hrs.Over the last month I got to know the crew very well and I must say from the owner Ralph, Vinny who you’ll likely speak to when you call. Matt and the other mechanics were all terrific. Again they have everything you’ll need.I’m thrilled to be back on the water with 2.5 months left of the season. Thanks lindenhurst outboard ! Hope the next time I see you is for winterization ! I highly recommend anyone who runs and older motor or needs toRepower to give them a call.Jay
2 weeks after I ordered a part and was told it was being shipped to me I was then told it was on back order. I then asked for a refund and have been lied to multiple times that it was processed. I ordered the same part from marine engine.com and receive it in 2 days! Do not buy or support this company they do not care about their customers, my boat was unnecessarily out of commission for 2 weeks because of this poor excuse for a company. Buy elseware!
Vinny did an awesome job. Ralph the owner is a great guy, and really helped me out. They work very fast, and will help out the best they can.
This company is terrible! Bought a used 115 Johnson. Once paid no one would answer office phone or three cell phones. Shipments arrived late 10 days, charged me for lift gate service when it was coming to a loading dock, did not list destination as a business so made it even more late.Unwrapped the crate to find the engine is damaged and the engine harness I ordered was not included!Do not buy from these people at all! Not from eBay as outboard wizard or from their store! Best to stay away!!!!!
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!Ralph and Vinny are scum dirtbags con-artists.DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM OR THIS PLACE!Got my boat in to get new engines and work done on it.... spent over 10k in work and parts and nothing was done right. Engines do not run, they scratched my boat with the trailer, they damaged the back corner by backing it up and ramming it in the wall, and they let me to take a delivery of it and i almost sank...(BECAUSE THE BOAT HAD A HOLE )... took it back to them and after 2 months. All i know is that i will do all in my power to shut this place down
Bought a used engine from Ralph which I would never do again or recommend anyone to ever do! Received with missing parts and damaged! The engine was a 2002 115 hp engine that had 230 hours on it. Ralphs crew was to take the gearcase off and ship the motor ready to take a 20-inch shaft. His crew took the gearcase off but left the extension in the power head along with not putting all the bolts back into the cowling, not providing the steering arm, not providing the clips for the shifter and the throttle. To makes things worst the 20-foot harness I ordered was not included and the motor came severely damaged in the cowling from improper shipping. They did get the harness to me but I was told that I NEED it to remove the power head and take the drift shaft extension out. Once I did that, yes that really happened I put the motor back together and tried to start it. Well, it wont start, wont idle, wont shift without stalling. DOES Not run, was not as described! Im left with a $4000 lemon and $600 in tools to try and fix all their mistakes!Hes 2 hours from the boat and wont come and fix the engine, the only reason he ever answered the phone after stonewalling me was he saw a bad review from me.NEVER BUY FROM THEM.
I have been going here for over 30 years. The very fact that they have been in business at the same location for that long tells you what you can expect. Not just a mechanic to me but a friend. Bought a new 2015 Steiger craft and demanded they outfit it with a Evinrude G2 for no other reason that I had Lindenhurst outboard to back me up! BTW Steiger now offers G2s on their new boats.
Ralph Rocks!! He forgot more than most people know when it comes to fixing outboards. He can fix all the stuff the other dealers wont touch. Dealing with him for years. You can always count on him making it right.
Great place
Had some major issues with a motor they put on my boat and it took a lot of singing and dancing but Ralph eventually did the right thing I’m only sorry it took so long I missed a whole season playing games, but eventually a different motor was put on and hopefully we can get the minor kinks out of it very quickly let’s see what happens update to follow
Great people
