Put your reading glasses on: I brought a set of GM wheels in to have the center bore milled out to the BMW spec of 72.5mm, I also offered a spare BMW wheel to match that spec to.I dropped my wheels off to be milled out and a week later got the call that they were done. I paid the company via Venmo. Upon test fitting them back at home, they were all obviously milled about an eighth inch too large as the wheels were able to wobble loosely all around the wheel hub on the car...When I called back, they realized what had went wrong, a human error, apologized and said to bring them back and he would press spacers in to offset the difference. I brought them back, this time leaving the spare wheel for them to double check sizing and match a small bevel on the inside of the wheels mounting face. This was talked over and I was told, I dont know if well get to it this week, Ill let you know.TWO WEEKS LATER - I called to check status and I was told, Im just getting to them today, theyll be done either today or tomorrow. Call me around 4:30 and see if theyre done.I asked if he could just call me when they were done, he said, Just call me around 4:30, youll remember better than I...?Later I texted the guy to assure him I need a good and safe job done, not just a quick finish because the customer called after two weeks, so whenever works well. Two days later I got a text that they were done. Upon getting home for testing I found the inner bevel was not machined into the spacers AND all four of the wheels centerbores were now again too small and could not be fitted onto my hubs.I sent a text saying they didnt fit and the bevel didnt happen like asked. I then called around to find another machinists- and one even told me they’ve gotten a few of LPM’s failed jobs before. No. Lie.I found one, and machine shop #2’s opinion was that there wasnt compensation for the possible slight inner diameter shrinkage when the spacers were pressed in. His measurement showed them being about .006-.007in off - sounds minimal, but the shoe didnt fit. Two business days later machine shop #2 finished the job, and to test the difference of thousands of an inch, he first machined one hubcentric ring .003in larger than the other 3, and it was the only one that fit. He took the time immediately to have me bring the car to his shop, and one by one he re-machined each ring until all of the wheels for sure fit.To cap my story back with Lindon Precision, I had asked for a refund “if possible,” and the guy I worked with ended up texting, and then calling- saying things like its exactly the same as the spare wheel, within .002in, and he isnt going to refund my $94, but he will take them back in again to fix them.I said I had already taken them to another machinist, and I just didnt want to risk a bunch more time at his shop, as it had already been three weeks and two fails. He then called me, childish, for not allowing him to fix it.This made me mad. I then repeated my statement of it having taken three weeks, two fails, but this time cursed and said, Three F***ing weeks. And ended with something to the tone of, thats it, good bye. Hung up.He then texted saying, Very cool of you!!! Your a great guyI can fix it tomorrowStill trying to get me back in and no remorse towards letting go or a refund... I then re-explained myself one last time via text, also adding that he calls his customers names for wanting to seek another business after failed help.I said best wishes. He said, Thanks for the f bombAnd instead of saying, thanks for the shame attempt like were fifth graders in church scared of naughty words, I said, No f***in problem. Blocked him, and that was to be the end of my time with Lindon Precision Machine.Twenty minutes later I got Venmod my money back. This almost avoided a review, but the way this was handled.... Maybe consider a different shop.
