Above and beyond! Tams helped us set up some archaic software on a modern PC in order to keep a machine running. Couple weeks later we had to come back for a file transfer issue and they took care of us no questions asked. Friendly folks who got us exactly what we needed.Thank you!

I took my old PC and monitor to TAMS this morning as I wanted to recycle it in hopes someone else could use it. I spoke with their receptionist who was one of the kindest people I have talked with in such a long time! She showed respect and patience with me and listened which is rare. I was so impressed! Customer Service has taken a huge downhill slide over the years but this young lady restored my faith in CS! I was impressed with the stores laptops, PCs monitors etc that were available to purchase. I recommend TAMS! I didnt know they were even an option but so happy I heard about them and went to their place of business ~

In person the store, employees and inventory are amazing. They always have cool stuff for cheap. They even sometimes have stuff with factory warranty! Highly recommend at least stopping by if you are looking for hardware.

My son recommended Tams when I was looking for a computer to handle some CNC software. When the computer was picked up and delivered to me, the wrong power cord had been included. When I contacted them, they said if I would bring the power cord back they would exchange it. I live about 100 miles from the company, so it was no easy feat to get back to them to pick up the correct cord. Then after having the computer for only a month, I started having trouble with the power button. It wouldnt turn on for me even though I clicked it several times. I finally called them and, of course, once I had someone on the line the machine started. However, after another couple of weeks, the computer refused to boot even though my son (a computer tech), and I tried several things. My son took the computer in and was told they would check it out and get back to me. I called them a couple of days later since I hadnt heard anything, and I was told they had cleaned the computer and it was running fine. Since I didnt trust that the machine would continue to boot, I asked that they give me a different computer which they did. I was told it would ship out on Wednesday and they would call right back to give me shipping charges and shipping information. When I didnt hear back after a couple of days, I called them again. I was placed on hold for several minutes and when they got back to me, they said they were taking so much time to make sure shipping costs and address were correct. I told them again where I needed the computer to be sent to me (since I have had to go to Boston for several months) and they took my money for shipping and said they would send it today. Shortly after, I received the shipping info and they were sending the computer to the wrong address!! I called right away and I was able to get the address changed, fortunately for me. I have to say that Im not very impressed with this company. Maybe I will change my mind after my new computer makes it to me.

We bought our computer at Tams four years ago, and something went wrong with the start, and it just would not start. I spent over two hours searching online for the solution, and nothing worked. Just spoke with Tams and their level of Covid paranoia is ridiculous. Given where things are at with Covid at this time April 2021, their restrictions are absurd. Only 1 person in the store at a time and they will not accept electronic devices to recycle. Really...do computer monitors carry Covid. Im sure their response will be...Sorry for the inconvenience. Check back soon. I feel sorry for the person who has to answer phones there and give these ridiculous answers.

Before I get into this it seems like 85% reviews are from friends and families of their employees. With that said theyre on okay / good reseller (or at least they were) the products that they Sell are in good condition and their techs are meticulous inspecting and testing products. With that said, there is a neurotic (I dont mean to be insulting) named Kim who doesnt like to spend more than 1 minute on the phone or face to face answering any questions, Ive dealt with this company for over 3 years now and up until now and having to deal with Kim they have been fine. Kim was upset because I asked her to cover the shipping cost of a product after my company has purchased $1000+ dollars of network equipment, Notebooks in the last 8 months. She was very honest about her opinion of even asking for free shipping (to which she could have replied with a simple, Im sorry but we cant do that).

The buying experience at their brick and mortar store here in Lindon was simple and pleasant. I purchased a mid level HP laptop for my wife.Unfortunately I got it home and the computer will not turn on. I am familiar with troubleshooting these types of problems. I suspect the computers battery is dead and the power cable they gave me was defective. I dont have another power cable to use in order to test whether the cable is the culprit.Because of this Quality Assurance issue, I have decided to rate TAMS a 2 star. I will happily raise the rating depending on how they decide to correct this problem.This is my first purchase from TAMS. I decided to purchase from TAMS because of a friend who has had nothing but good reviews of their service and products.-----Update-----After going back in later in the day, the salesman who sold me the computer tested the computer and power cable and concluded the cable was the issue. He gave me a new cable and I was on my way.Would I purchase from TAMS again.... Yes I would. :)

TAMS computer is simply the best! We were in desperate need of a RAID controller for an older Dell Server. I call all over the valley trying to find this part. NO one had it. In fact, most said you will not find this part anywhere. It will have to be ordered. At 5:15 TAMS let me know they had the part. I was in Sandy at the time and knew they closed at 6:00. I hopped in the car and took off. Traffic was horrible. I knew I was going to be 10-15 after their closing time. Their wonderful staff waited for me to arrive. We were SO grateful. And best of all, they charged us a fair price for the part. They knew we were desperate and could have easily taken advantage of us. This is a sign of what an honest business with high integrity would do. We are raving fans of TAMS and will gladly give them our business in the future! By the way, we stayed up most of the night but were able to have the server up and running for our customer before they opened the next morning!

Got a killer deal on a 2012 MacBook Pro. i7, retina display, beautiful computer and works great. There was a small glitch that happened when they wiped the drive, so they took it back and fixed it free of charge. Working with them is super easy, theyre friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I would definitely trust them with ANY of my computer needs.

Ive had a great experience with TAMs in the last couple of weeks. It started out with a problematic misunderstanding, but they turned it around quickly and promptly. Heres what happened.I have been looking for some cheap surplus server gear to migrate my in home server/network system to a true enterprise/rack solution. Im the IT manager for my wifes blog and we host it out of our home. Ive used some old desktop tower computers for this purpose and have had to go through some odd measures to ensure proper backup and redundancy in case of failure. She puts a good 15-20 hours into a week and cant have it going down.New enterprise level server gear is too expensive for our situation, so I began looking for surplus, particularly government and university surplus. I attempted to buy a couple of servers from the U of U surplus site, but they pulled the servers before they went to public sale.I worked near TAMS for a number of years and had once checked out their store when I was looking for a cheap switch for the tower server setup. At the time, it was going to just be used for personal home use and I decided that their enterprise stuff was over the top for my needs. But I thought that this time I might be cheaping out too much wasting my time looking for surplus, so I decided to look at TAMS again.On their website they show a lot of server gear and I browsed through their inventory and picked out a number of the best servers that were available. These appeared to me to be significantly underpriced (which turned out to be true). I reserved them all with the intention of reselling half of them and keeping the other half.It turned out that TAMS had mis-listed hundreds of servers accidentally and told me they couldnt sell me the servers I had reserved at the prices I reserved them. This upset me quite a bit, but I was able to contact one of the owners of TAMS and he worked with me to get me what I wanted at a great price. The pricing on their site has since been updated and the inventory made correct. They have promised me the mistake would not be repeated.I was pleased enough with the server and rack that I purchased that I returned several days later and acquired a bunch of other gear and a couple of days after that to help my sister in law pick out a laptop.Ive opened up every device Ive purchased from them, and they are spotless clean. This equipment has obviously come out of a very controlled environment. The servers at the U of U surplus looked pretty beat up and slightly dusty inside, but these look new inside with no dust at all to be seen. Very clean gear.The biggest downside I see to TAMS is that you have to know on your end what youre getting, but this can work well to your advantage if you do your homework. They price things such that theyll move and it appears they need their inventory to move quickly to make space for new stuff coming in. If you learn what to look for in computer hardware, youll find some amazing deals here. I regularly check their EBay store as well and there are things listed there that arent on their main website. Some stuff they sell seems a bit overpriced to me, but some of it seems quite under-priced as well. Do your research and youll find great deals here cheaper than I could even find online anywhere else.The best part of all of this is knowing that what Im buying has been checked and comes with a 30 day return policy. This is worth extra money to me as most surplus gear is sold as is and its difficult to know if it works well or not.Overall, I originally felt pretty bad at not getting the servers I originally reserved, but I did recognize that something seemed off on the pricing and theyve thanked me for making them aware of it. Theyve turned that experience around 180 degrees completely and Ill be working with TAMS in the future. Im going to recommend them to anyone looking to do what Im doing, which is home server work. Its amazing the system you can set up for less than a new desktop PC elsewhere.

Horrible experience with them. Decent laptops and prices but unknowledgeable and careless employees. Trying to order from them was a complete waste of time!I ordered a laptop but when it came in I discovered that they had sent the wrong charger. Ok...why? Not too big of a deal. When the CORRECT charger came in (almost a week after ordering), I found out that one of the laptops functions I had ordered for was not working. After trying to do my own research to rule out any issues with it that I could maybe fix, I called TAMS and they had no idea what was wrong. I had to drive down from Layton to Lindon to go see what was wrong or possibly getting a replacement. Got there and found out that they had actually sent me the wrong laptop, that it had been labeled wrong. No possible replacement was ready except for other models with poorer conditions. The employees there did not seem knowledgeable about computers as the employee at the front desk couldnt figure out how to turn on and login to one of the computers. They told me they had one in the back and have it processed and ready the next day to ship. Two full days later and I still hadnt heard anything about the new laptop being shipped. I called them and found out that they not only had they not even processed the laptop yet, but they also didnt have the model in the same conditions I had paid for. They tried offering another laptop that was supposedly better, but it was nothing that I had wanted or needed. Cancelled the order completely and demanded a refund. Will not order from them again.

Excellent experience buying a used macbook. Their price was slightly better than what I could find online since online usually included shipping (or at least having to wait for shipping) which is why I chose them.

These guys are awesome! I have been in several times since I discovered it shortly after moving here. I bought a sweet quad-core Xeon workstation to replace a dead laptop, and it is awesome. Bought some RAM and a dew optical drive for my inlaws PC. Finally, when my Mom decided she wanted a Mac, I told her about this place. They had a sweet 17 MBP that I got for a great price. When I got home, the battery wouldnt charge, so I tried all night to charge it. Called them the next day, and they had it in and out in a matter of hours with a new battery. Their prices are always very excellent and their service is top-notch!

I bought a used laptop from Tams online in early Nov. It came with w 30 day warranty. After a couple of weeks of use, the display started acting up and I took it in. After 5 days, I called to see if it was ready, as I hadnt heard anything back. The guy that answered said, Yeah, its sitting here. Is it not policy to call the customer to let them know?? I live more than 30 min. away, so it isnt like I can just pop in on my way by and see how things are going! Now the display is misbehaving once again, but it is no longer under the 30 day warranty. So far, my experience hasnt been so great. Ill be taking it back in for a paid repair and well see if they can make good on their product.
