We worked with Custom Remodelers to replace our front door and sliding glass door. The salesperson was friendly and helped us pick out something that we liked without destroying our budget. The installers were efficient, clean and professional. The doors look amazing, were very happy! Would have been 5 stars, but it did take nearly 6 months rather than 8 weeks for install...I understand supply constraints, but the communication around the delay was lacking.
A big man in a green shirt knocked on my door. The man said his name was Nick Current that works for CRI. That they work on siding roofing windows and doors. I recently purchased a house, and the house needed a new roof. Before I can do windows, and siding. So, I setup a time with Nick to stop out at noon the following day with both wive and I. Which we would both be home. He explained to me that they make a special trip, and I told him we would both be here. Then he calls it in, and provides the information I gave to his boss Gene on the other side of the phone. Gene was dead set on ruining the appointment. My wive works from home, but Gene said she had to sit and listen to the presentation. Which is a terrible working model. People have a life. Gene proceeded to throw Nick under the bus. Which is another terrible working model for their employees. Gene ruined the appointment, and took money out of these mans pockets. I quickly call a different remodeling company, and they accommodated my needs. I felt terrible to the man named Nick Current because your boss does not have your best interest at heart. Keep on smiling!
Product was good (I had a custom-sized, very large sliding glass door installed,) staff was friendly, the work done was of high quality. But I will say that the communication was not ideal. Some problems that you may run into: was told it would be a 2-day job, the company ended up coming to my house 5 times. Mostly for work that was known ahead of time. That means that it took 2 months to get from install to finished drywall instead of the week or 2 that I expected. The customer service reps are super nice and very helpful when you get a hold of them, but you might find times when no one answers the phone and all of the dial __ for ____ numbers in their system send you to the wrong place. Didnt seem like anyone was really talking to each other, as I had to continually remind the workers (whom I assume were subs) that there were other things that needed to be done to pass inspection. Overall, I really like the work done, just took a while to get there.
What a nightmare! Nice kid comes knocking on the door, John does a great job so I figured we set up a consultation. Keeps asking us for an evening appointment. We tried to schedule a late morning one. Gets Mike on the phone and this guy is a total tool. Completely unprofessional and a bully. Tries to change my appointment to the evening. Told him to keep morning appointment. Wouldnt listen to me, keeps telling me to change it. I ask him why, he says cause it will work better. Told him it wouldnt, then tells me he wants us to have enough time. Asked if it will take more than an hour, he says no. Then I tell him that the morning appointment should be just fine. Wouldnt listen to me. At this point Im pretty much having a shouting match with him over the phone as he keeps talking over me. Just had to tell him he lost the sale. John hangs up. Wished the young guy good luck. Hope he finds a different job. Mike was extremely rude just trying to schedule an appointment. Cant imagine the headache it would be if I actually went with their services and spent money. At least now I know Im not going with CRI when I need work done.
Signed up for replacing a few windows. 3+ months later they never called once. I had to call to find out what was going on. When they called back over a week later, she said 1 window was still not in and she was going to check on it later that day. I asked to call me back with an update. (I was assured when I ordered the windows they would be done before it got cold). 2+ weeks later they call and say my windows are in and they have an opening the next day(today) to install in the morning. Here it is 11:00, no one has come yet and no call. Try to call there and of course the only person that can help me is helping someone else. Dont use this company. Extremely poor communication and Extremely unprofessional. Waiting to see the quality of the windows...
Robo Dials will not stop! I can now say that there is no way in hell I am ever going to use their services for any reason simply based on the sheer number of robo dials coming from their number.
Very professional and explained the product very well. Previously did the siding 3 years ago. Looks great.
We had our windows, patio doors, front door, and siding replaced.First they replaced the windows and doors. The 2 guys that put in our windows and doors were professional and very helpful in answering our questions. We requested the same guys to finish some of the work that couldnt be done at the same time. We like the look and no more drafty windows and doors.Next they did the sidingWhen the siding was replaced, we had snow on the ground, so we understand they couldnt find all the nails and such. So after the snow melted we found them. the team who did the siding did a great job. They were interrupted for a few days due to the really cold weather, but then came right back to finish up the job. We are enjoying the new sliding doors. There was a couple hiccups but all was fixed correctly and both crews work was great and they did a fantastic job of cleaning up.Would we recommend them? Yes.People have liked the new look of the house and said it looked like a band new home, as do we.With best regards:Dave and Sarah Scott
I wanted to have an estimate done on my roof, only for Mike to force me to have my wife here with me(wouldnt allow her to call in during estimate) or they would not do the estimate. I understand that a spouse should have input on something like this but my wife has a full time job, is in school and most of her free time is spent studying or at the gym so it is very difficult for her to make time. I stated to them several times that my wife does not care about the color and is also not paying for this roof as she is saving all her extra money for school. This ridiculous policy of having a spouse here in person is why I am giving them 1 star and they are not getting my business.
Came to my door, I told them Im not interested, but they proceed anyway until they get an appointment. I called to cancel appointment, and they try to reschedule. Ive probably gotten 6-7 phone calls from them trying to create another appointment even after I say Im not interested. In the case I was interested, I would never use this company based off the reviews alone.
We signed paperwork with them in May to put windows in our house before the end of October, which was the deadline they created.. They instructed us that a salesman would be out in 2 to 3 days to measure and then order. Weeks passed with us reaching out multiple times, finally about a month later someone came out to measure. We were then told that they wouldnt be able to install until end of December. We have tried to call and text our salesman Zac multiple times to discuss the issue with no response.
Great deal but terrible follow through. Never on time, never communication with me, last minute changes not told, had to call back many times to figure out what was even going on, sitting around waiting for things that dont happen when they say they will. Put in least amount of investment. Two guys did my downstairs windows, except the company made one the wrong size, so another few months to wait. Then didnt clad it, came back, same guys, failed at cladding, said they needed to send the siding guys. Still waiting two weeks later.Good product for windows though.
Really disappointed with the customer service I have received and not overly impressed with the product (windows). I had windows installed over the summer and after 7 months the trim is warping, seals are leaking, locks dont line up and had a missing piece at install that was never fully resolved. I reached out to Bob Bohn, sales rep, he said he would get back to me and never did after 3 weeks. I reached out to the project manager (Jason B.) as well. He called back, I missed the call and left him another voicemail 2 weeks ago, still have not heard back. The person who referred me to the company did not receive the bonus that they were supposed to. The prices are cheap with CRI, but you definitely get what you pay for...
We spent many thousands of dollars with this company. One window would not stay open. Called for repair. After a little negotiating she said the windows were under warranty but the service call is not and I would need to pay $99. Fine, I need the window to stay open. Service man was there less than 5 minutes. Replaced the pin. They could have asked some questions and told me where to get a replacement pin (send me one free) and how to replace it myself. Very disappointed with the cost vs time spent.
Jason was our service provider today and he was amazing! From showing up on time, to being professional, but also being very informative. He also connected with my husband and myself. Ran down everything with us step by step, he was in general amazing and great at his job. We have already worked with the company a few years back and loved our door that was done. Now we will be back to add a new patio door in.
Replaced the siding on my home. The installers arrived on time all four days it took to remove the old siding and install the new siding. No time was wasted as they started working on arrival only stopping for scheduled breaks and lunch. The installation was completed efficiently with high quality workmanship! Each day the site was cleaned up before the installers left. I felt at easewith the work being done and had all my questions answered professionally and to my full satisfaction. Overall I would highly recommend Custom Remodelers Inc. to anyone planning home repairs.Thank you for a job well done.
I had CRI replace the siding and picture window on my house, and they did a fantastic job! The workmanship is top-of-the-line, they were patient with me and all of my questions - and answered them all in a professional manner. They were prompt and ready to work each day, and were able to juggle things around due to varying weather conditions. The only thing that I could possibly complain about was the lack of a CRI sign in my yard while the work was being done. I highly recommend them, and will definitely use them again for any projects down the road - such as re-roofing.
Kid comes to the door and fires up his sales pitch, during which I tell him we arent interested a half dozen times. Finally decided to play along just to get to the end of his script and be done with him, only for him to call his boss and set up an appointment. Rolled through that knowing Id call and cancel the moment he left. Called the office and ended up getting transferred to the guy we just had on the phone, who then proceeded to tell me I should keep the appointment because its the smart thing to do and totally not a waste of everyones time, despite telling HIM several times that I wasnt interested and one of his five employees going door-to-door on my street (which is TOTALLY SOMETHING THAT THEY ALMOST NEVER DO) wouldnt take a simple no thanks and be on his way. Had to tell Mike again and again that we were, in fact, NOT INTERESTED in hearing any quotes or estimates. So, thanks, guys. Youve made it really easy to start filtering some potential companies out of future remodeling plans.
We replaced the siding, facia, and gutters. We had to make a color change in on of the items, and needed to add the facia work in mid-project. Sam the sales person was quickly able to get this added to our project. We really like the quality of the product. Hank and his team did excellent work on the siding and facia. Dave did a terrific job on the gutters and even hung up my rain chain. Excellent communications with the installers.
I completely regret choosing CRI for my home project of 3 doors and 1 small kitchen window. I was told the project would take 2 days and it was scheduled to be complete on Dec 16, 2019. Instead, I had people in my home doing work, or rework, a total of 13 days and the project was completed June 17, 2020 - 6 full months behind schedule. None of the delays were due to issues with my home - every single delay was due to mistakes made by CRI and in one case a product defect. I have a 3 page timeline of all the mistakes and issue - here are some of the highlights:* Unstained trim and casing were installed around the window- which after 2 months of no resolution from CRI, I ended up staining and finishing myself. Not easy when its already nailed in place.* Two times my walls were dinged in two places - and even when I pointed it out, they did not offer to fix the dings so I had to repair my walls.* The wrong door was installed at my garage-to-home entry point, thus the project did not pass the first city inspection* The crew scratched the front door they had installed, thus requiring the delay of replacing the door.* The casing around the deck door was not installed tightly - I had to borrow an air-nailer and fix it.* The screen door that was installed had a hole in the screen.* Garbage, nails and debris were left on my deck, in my garage and on my driveway - including a loose razor blade on my garage floor and two nails in my driveway that the city inspector found (thankfully before I drove over them). There was even trash in my front yard on one occasion.* This project required constant project management by me and calls to CRI to remind them of what still needed fixing. The were often not good about calling back or following through on promises.* Grand finale - they charged me for the project 6 full weeks before it was completed and without a passed city inspection. The ONLY positive thing I have to say is that the Provia brand of doors they use look nice and a couple of the crew members did seem to care about the disaster my project had become and did seem to prioritize, as they were able, to make it right. Without a doubt this was the worst experience Ive ever had with home improvement. I have since done a project with Window Concepts of MN (bathroom work) and it went perfectly. I do not like to complain, but CRI has put me in a position of having to complain about their level of service.
CRI lost any future business with us and I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone! We had our roof replaced 2 months ago and no one has called to follow up with us or to come and and inspect the roof. I have called many times and no one answers the phone. I have left messages and no one has returned my call, but yet before they sell you the roof someone calls you twice a day. They keep sending me a bill in the mail saying that I have to pay the amount in full because they apparently did not process the loan information the right way. I still have yet to get my first bill from the finance company. I have some issues with the finished roof and I would like them to be taken care of, but I guess we have kind of given up so my last resort is to leave this negative review, which is not something I take lightly. There was no one on the roofing crew that spoke english so there was no way to communicate our concerns while they were here. The sales man told us that we would have metal valleys installed- there is none. They sold us a product that they did not even install! The silicone is VERY sloppy-big globs in spots- looks like a 5 year old did it. And the silicone itself that they use is questionable- it is nova flex clear silicone which is what they use to seal the outside of campers.....I dont know why they did not use roof sealant. The drip edges are loose, not nailed down. Some of the shingles are not laying flat and it is wavy in some spots. There is silver insulation sticking out in some spots- it is not even covered-looks horrible! They also left some of those plastic pieces that come on new shingles up on the roof- and there is one stuck on a high corner that just blows in the wind all day and drives me absolutely nuts-sounds like a plastic bag blowing in the wind. So they cant even give me a phone call back and all I want is a few things taken care of. Worst customer service I have EVER had with a company. Buyer beware!
Zach and Josh installed a wonderful bay window in my living room. It is absolutely beautiful. They did the work in about 5 hours or so. Very quick! They left everything very neat. I love my window and will definitely be doing business with them in the future. Id give them more stars if I could!
Zach underdahl came out to offer insights and an estimate on our house and what we wanted to have done, he was very helpful and a pleasure to work with.
Installation of the windows we had done twice with CRI to do all of our windows they were very professional and went far and above. Took care of permits and cleaned up of everything was so appreciated! Tell everyone to use them when I can.
Was recommend by my moms friend, so we gave them a try. Had a great experience with Jason B. one of the consultant of CRI. He slowly and thoroughly explained everything about their products and how it work. He also went through the information such as the windows and trims making sure that it is what we choose. Kevin M. and his crew installed our windows and the patio door. The Installation went pretty smooth. All the windows and the patio door look very nice.
They replaced my two decade old siding at a reasonable price, no issues and the job was done in a within a week
I have had my windows for 3 years now and am very happy. They came and hung 8 windows in a afternoon. So my house wasnt open for to days. I have seen a decrease in my energy bill and was surprised how bad the old windows really where. Our bathroom was never warm and is now easy to heat a big improvement.
It was a horrible experience dealing with Custom Remodelers. They promised to complete our roof replacement in one day. On the day they started, only one guy showed up. Four days passed before they showed up again and finished the job... Or so we thought. None of the guys spoke English, so I had to communicate some parts of the job that were in the contract, but they did not know about, by pointing and using hand signals. There was supposed to be at least one guy there at all times that could speak English. They ran out of gas for their compressor and I had to give them my gas to finish. I had to borrow them tools to remove an unused vent pipe. After they left, we noticed they had removed two of the attic air intake vents and shingled over the holes. I contacted them about this and they claimed not to know about it. I had to send them pics of the roof from before the replacement to show that the vents were supposed to be there. This would have caused major ice dam problems! It was two weeks before they came back and put the vents in. When they showed up, they didnt have a ladder with them. I had to borrow them a ladder?A few days later, we noticed water dripping from our gutters so I went up to see what was going on. I found the gutters were broken in multiple places and the leaf guards were not put back on properly. I would not recommend CRI to my worst enemy! They were VERY unprofessional and completely incompetent!
I had exterior wood trim wrapped with a PVC clad aluminum product. The color match was good. Product is good, had an embossed texture and so looks more classic compared to smooth painted aluminum. Installer was excellent (Mike C.). Very clean and crisp installation, nice looking, minimal exposed nails, clean bends to the aluminum for tight fits, well caulked. Im very happy with the final job and cost. I definitely recommend CRI.
I needed some windows and ended up coming accross Custom Remodelers. Steve Whitman is my salesman and he has made this process fun and seamless. I highly recommend working with him. Also the install team did amazing work. These windows look phenomenal
Had my roof replaced in 2019 and are currently working with them on replacing my siding. I have only had the most professional experience in working with them. So far the return on my invest of the roof has been phenomenal. Their responsiveness and staying with in promised timeline has been nothing short of excellent. I highly recommend Custom Remodelers!
Had the patio door, siding soffits, fascia, and gutters replaced with lifetime transfers for the work and products installed if I sell the house. Great selling item. Very recommended.
We had six windows replaced. Great work and the window quality cant be beat! We will definitely use again for our window replacement needs.
Joel was professional with all of his work. He brought me to attention of little things that go into installing new gutters, going above and beyond to satisfy me. I am very happy with his work. Thank you!
My parents used their services and recommended me to call them. They are very professional and easy to talk to. They make easy and efficient.
I wish the colors we picked out would have matched existing colors better. Disappointed with the end product of color scheme. The installer did a great job, he went above and beyond, especially with installation of door. More time could have been spent on clean up.
Sent a sales person to my house who was not vaccinated or wearing a mask. Would not do business with them if they dont care about customer health.
Ive used CRI on two homes Ive owned over the years. They recently replaced three doors, including deck sliding doors, on a recently purchased home. I knew that they would do a great job - did excellent work on window replacement on my previous home. They were responsive and fixed framing problems when putting in the new doors - alleviating previous water penetration issues. They went above and beyond and were totally professional. I will call on them again when I need more reno work.
Custom Remodelers replaced our 15+ yr old roof on our house and shed. Additionally, they replaced the gutter on the backside of my house. Overall the work completed was very well done and it passed first inspection. The gutter is working as intended and will keep out leafs with the new leaf filter! The bad: the 3rd party company they hired for the roof showed up without notice right after I had put up Christmas decorations. There was some damage to a few decorations from the debris but they cleaned up everything very well. They missed the order to replace the roof on the shed and we didnt notice until after they had left. I called our salesperson from CRI and they were sent back out within a few days to complete the work. The good: the roof is retaining heat very nicely during the winter, and the gutter was installed within a single day about 2 weeks after the roof was finished. The prompt response regarding the shed error gave me confidence in this company.Though pricey, the workmanship and warranty is worth it!Disclaimer: I received an incentive in return for this review.
We always have a great experience with CRI. Mike P. Did an excellent job installing out door. Very courteous and knowledgeable.
A few wordsDishonest,Dishonest, and dishonest of why they cant finish what they started. It s taken 2 months of ohhhh we will be there..no show,no callThere management team should be on espns showCom-on-man..because they suck so bad(they truly dont care about you)JUST NEED YOUR MONEY KIND OF PEOPLE.They also feel real good about cheating you out of your valuable time.Tip for the eay....we welcome you into our home and pay you good money. You could at least give us a call back and say Im sorfy(even if you dont mean it)It helps
We love the stonework that this company added to the exterior of our home. We will be using custom again for window replacement in the near future.Customer service is excellent and Jason and Sam were fabulous to work with!
Great services, they put a awesome new door on our broken garage. Thank you so much Mike Plant you did and amazing job!
Kevin Myers and group did a good profesional job. My only disappointment for not get 5 star, is the company doesnt cover and paint the holes on frame. Then the job doesnt looks finished and you have to go and find the color matching and paste the holes by yourself! As a customer you should have everything done!
Replaced my exterior doors recently. High quality doors, and no installation issues so far. My only complaint is that the manufacturer took several months longer than expected to deliver the doors.
Came to our home at 6:40pm at night, rang the doorbell to try to sell us some windows and siding, and doors. We are in a very quiet neighborhood and each of our neighbors got the same sales pitch, and weren’t impressed that we were getting people at are door so late in the day, and while it was dark out!
High pressure sales, the job took longer then promised but was completed. However after completion we noticed they damaged our gutter helmets, the sales guy said, they normally just rip them off when they do a roof he then came out because no one else would and fixed them. These are the pictures of his repair. We had the original company who installed them come out and give us an estimate to repair their damages and said they would have to replace the whole system, over $2,000!! Im not going to hold my breathe on waiting to hear when that will get done...
Very pleased with the residing job. Glad we went with professionals rather than a friend of a friend. Sales were awesome. Kong was very easy to work with. Hank and crew are very pleasant fellows. Hank kept me informed about the job progress and when storms were predicted he said they would be out the day after to resume work. That was part of the reason we picked pros. I didnt want an exposed side of my house subject to a rain storm.
I had CRI install 4 new doors in my home. Zack and Josh were timely and professional during the install. Even when they hit some odd sizing issues since my house is old and the framing didnt match perfectly with measurements they were able to make it work and got all my doors installed. They did quality work even taking the time to do all little details like caulking and sealing around the doors so they look very good and not rushed since its the last things you do on the install. Its been a month since the install and with the cold weather I have noticed no drafts and they all have a very good seal keeping the house temp more easily regulated which is what I wanted from my new doors. So I would recommend the Doors from CRI as they look great and do their job exceptionally well.
We just had new windows installed by CRI and can I just say.... wow these are AMAZING. You could hear our garage door opening downstairs on the other side of the house (yea that noisy door is another issue) but now... now? In the kitchen right in front of the dang thing? Nothing. It’s amazing. The installing was beyond smooth and the guys were professional. We got a great deal on some great windows and will certainly be looking to CRI in the future. Will definitely recommend to all our friends and family!
T.c installed window and sliding door. They had to improvise where necessary and did a great job. Install went well. I recommend this company to do my installs to anyone.
The crew from Myhers were here on time, came in with drop cloths, and went to work. They replaced four windows and did a great and efficient job. Vacuumed after they were done. Very happy!
Short of it: It seems like they are sexist liars. They were doing door-to-door sales. The guy said they dont usually go door-to-door, but they were in the area anyways. In conversation, he also said he was all over my city that day (I guess in the area means more than just the neighborhood). He asked if we have any repair needs. My wife asked if they did Stucco repair. He said yes. He asked for a scheduled time to come give an estimate. He insisted that I be there with my wife. My wife told them that that wasnt going to happen in the time slots they had but she is fully capable of making decisions and can confirm with me if needed. The scheduler called to verify times and had the same insistances. My wife asked him if they repair Stucco as a verification. To which he replied yes. The next day appointment, the estimator never showed. Half an hour after the appointment the scheduler called and said the estimator would be 2 hours late. We did not follow up as courtesies werent given. The estimator showed a day later and said they dont do Stucco, but could give estimates on any outside repair needs (apparently any except Stucco). So she asked for a gutter estimate. The guy then asked if I was home. He refused to give an estimate without me there. He would not give my wife any reason for needed me there except for it is company policy. A verification phone call appearantly wouldnt do either.
One of Minnesotas finest companies for your home remodeling project.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Custom Remodeler, Inc,!!! I had my ugly porch bay window replaced with a 3 light casement window and the difference in the beauty and the ease of functionality has changed our three season porch for the best!! We finally are able to enjoy the porch because it blocks the heat AND the cold!! Wished we had done it years ago! Their professionalism and quality of work is beyond excellent. Ask for Mike hes been extremely helpful through the entire process.
They installed new windows, a front door, and a sliding door for me and it went great! We were kept informed of the progress and some of care and usage of the items (including some touch up paint matching the doors finish). They finished in a good time and the results are amazing. We are very pleased with Custom Remodelers Inc. This is the second time weve used them, and plan on using them again when we redo the rest of our windows in the coming years.
We had new siding, gutters, windows, and front door installed by CRI during the Summer of 2020. They were always courteous and professional whether it was the crew onsite of someone in the office we were speaking to. From the outside our house looks like its brand new and were very happy with the work that was done.
Are installer was amazing. Vary friendly kept in touch with us with good communication. Much easier for me to operate and keep clean. Was vary happy to get rid of the old storm windows and have the screen built in.
Just got all my windows replace by kevin and his group and I liked how my window were installed and like the way how they look. Thank you Kevin
Had the opportunity to speak with a sales consultant with Custom Remodelers Inc this past week and even though I didn’t buy at that time, I will for sure be doing business with them in the future. Kevin Kelly is a real, no bull, no iPad, old-school salesman. Gave me prices up front, thoroughly went through the business, offerings and warranty (including the fine print). It’s not often you come across a salesman who clearly believes in the business he represents. Ask to speak with Kevin Kelly if you are even considering a new roof. Glad I did. His card is on our fridge and it will remain there until we are ready to pull the trigger on our roof purchase. Thanks!
In September 2020, Jason, a sales rep from CRI Remodelers came to our townhome and gave a very thorough pitch on new windows for our townhome. He was professional and worked with us to make this decision an affordable one we would be comfortable with. Of course, the drawback to ordering the windows was the install date would be a few months out due to backlog and Covid-19. But he assured us they could install the windows even in cold weather such as January. The windows eventually arrived in December and we were able to secure an install date of December 18th, between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. I took the day off work and was excited for the new windows to be installed. It was about 9:30 am and I had not seen the contractor or the windows. I was feeling anxious so I decided to call CRI and find out if they knew what time the contractor would arrive. The CRI Remodeler contact I was speaking with informed me that the contractor was at my home and decided not to install the windows as they felt it was too cold outside and they could possibly crack the siding and they did not want to take a risk. I asked my contact why they had not called us, and she indicated she called my husband, (note we have no records of a call being made on our phone logs). This upset me as I felt it was very disrespectful not to discuss this matter with us. I admit I was upset, and the CRI contact hung up on me. The manager called me back and explained that because of the specific siding we had the risk was too great to install the new windows. Now I ask “when? Would be a time there would not be a risk? The temperature on December 18th was about freezing, a beautiful winter day. Should this not have been a thought prior to us scheduling and purchasing these windows. Apparently, CRI has a specific way they install windows, unlike their competition and the risk is too great. After much banter they agreed to install the windows “like the competition does” meaning they did not have to take the siding off. Kevin, from Myhers Construction arrived at noon and had the job beautifully done by 2:45 pm. He was awesome, highly recommend him if you need and work done.Moral of this review. Have CRI Remodelers confirm they can install your windows in the weather, and timeframe they quote. Oh, have check your siding before you purchase the windows.
Replaced all windows. Wonderful quality, made a huge difference comfort of home.Workers are very friendly and professional. Always on time and available when needed.
Horrible customer service. Setup 2 separate appointments and they told me I WAS LATE to both of them. The guys showed up way early and no where even near my appointment time. Then they left without even waiting. Will never recommend this place.
I had three doors replaced in my home with CRI. The front door, which also had a side window, as well as my door to my garage from my kitchen and the service door to my back yard from my garage. The front door turned out beautiful and was installed quickly and the sales person was nice as well as the person who installed my door. The following year I had the two garage doors replaced and the back service door had some messy caulking on the outside. I asked them to re-do the caulking and they were able to re-wrap the door and finish off the caulking very nicely. It took a couple of months for them to get back out to do the correction but they got it all completed and everything looks lovely.
Had a patio door installed, the workers did a great job of removal, replacing any wood that needed to be replaced, installed the door in a timely fashion, cleaned up everything .We are super satisfied with the job.
TLDR: Gave a decent informational walkthrough, but pushy sales tactics is my main turnoff from wanting to work with this company in the future.Details:A door to door guy convinced me to schedule a meeting and wouldnt take no for an answer. I told him at least twice that I was interested in learning more and hearing about various options, but that I was not ready to do anything right away and likely not for a few years.Next day 2 guys come for the meeting and I thought it started off fine. I reiterated that I was not planning on anything right away, but pointed out some windows that I might replace nearer term and a few other items that I was considering further down the road. They gave some suggestions during a quick walk around the house, then sat down and gave a detailed overview of the company and their windows. I was fine with everything up to this point and got most of the info I was interested in.I then asked about pricing so I knew what to prepare for financially when I was ready. They gave a quote that seemed a bit high to me, but what do I know... thats why you do these things and compare quotes. They became pushy with getting me to commit today and did many annoying used car guy sales tactics to try to make this happen. Their quote dropped 25% and then 50% by the end and was told these discounts would only be available if we got it setup today. They also mentioned materials and labor pricing magically increasing 20%+ in 2 weeks, which sounded more like false urgency so they can hit a year end sales goal. They also tried to guilt trip me with keeping crews working during COVID. At the point they finally gave up on closing, they told me to make sure I was actually committed before scheduling another one of these so their time and mine wasnt wasted (I did clearly say I just wanted info/education many times). The worst part was when they told me my one mistake was giving them my phone number and that now their telemarketers were going to call me non-stop. Why would you ever tell a potential customer that?
I really like how well the windows turned out. They were very professional and quickly installed my windows. All of the employees were respectful and kind. I would definitely be a returning customer.
Custom Remodelers installed two large picture windows in my house. It was the worst customer service experience I have ever had with a company. They were never on time, would not call you and canceled at last-minute. It took nine months to get my windows installed and I am not kidding! They measured wrong twice and broke the windows when they got them to my house another time. They would leave their equipment laying around so that it was dangerous like open nails pointed out and would not come back for days. Beware of their sales pitches because they are high pressured and horrible. I just dealt with another company who was the complete opposite. The manager did not want to even speak to me anymore because of all of the problems I had experienced and they gave me a total of $150 off of my approximately $6000 job even though they did not keep their word ever and I would miss work waiting for them all the time. I never received a formal apology.
Worked with Zach and David on the install of gutters on our house. Zach was professional yet personable. The flexibility in scheduling the work was very much appreciated and made the experience completely painless. David came with his team to install the gutters and was also very professional yet personable. The work was reviewed with me before installation and he also made sure I was happy with the quality of the work before they left. Overall, I am very happy with the gutter installation done by Custom Remodelers.
Dave with the gutters was easy to work with. He called ahead and worked with scheduling a time to do the gutters. The project went smooth and quick. I like the look of the seamless gutters. There were some screws showing where he added extra reinforcement, but overall we’ve got a dry basement so we’re happy.
Great products pretty much on schedule as promise. The guys who actually did the labor were very nice people and did a good and clean job. I would definitely recommend this company. We got exactly what we were told from the point of sales until the point of the job completion.
10 degrees outside and this business is making their employees go door to door to drum up business. The employees arent even provided with information that they can drop off with homeowners, so they have no choice but to stand outside to verbally provide the information. If you want business, dont make us stand with our doors open and write down the information.
We have had a majority of our windows replaced in our older home. Stu was great to work with when identifying our needs with replacing our old windows. The service that Zach and Josh gave us during the installation process was nothing but first class. The quality of the windows are top notch and we would recommend the service and products of CRI to anyone.
When they did siding on my house they covered my dryer vent.In the first year two pieces of my siding popped off, my husband was able to fix one. The other is higher up on the back and we can’t reach it. Also my storm door of the installed when it switches seasons it shifts and I can’t actually close it. They did repair the storm door once (when they came back to fix siding over my dryer vent) but now that it’s fall again it did the same thing where I can’t close it again.Having kids I was busy and figured I would call and see if they could repair the door and actually truly fix the problem and while they were coming out if they could repair the part of the siding that’s been damaged. They told me it would be almost $200 for them to come check it out/ fix it.I was sold this product by the sales person stating how wonderful the warranty is why it’s so much safer to go with the large established company because of the warranty. I never bothered to do a bad review because I know things happen, but when I’m calling to do something that I believe should be covered under the warranty which is why I picked this company. The sales person went on and on about how wonderful the warranty is and why it’s so much safer to go with the large establish company because if the warranty. This company expects me to pay the additional $200 for there bad workmanship, I think that’s ridiculous.I needed more gutters and a new roof, I will not be going with this company - and when I have my other contractor come out I will just pay them additional to fix with this company did wrong :(
We had them replace 8 windows and a sliding glass door. It was quick and easy install. The windows look so much better inside and out! Highly recommend.-James Nash using wife email
High quality window, service, and the installer Kevin Myhers was easy to work with and great craftsmanship. I definitely recommend using Custom Remodelers Inc.
Refuses to provide an estimate without my husbands presence, which in this day and age should not be necessary considering that Im the decision maker. Decided to go elsewhere since theyre persistent on having him present. Quite disappointing.
I hired Custom Remodelers to re-side my house. The salesman made some mistakes on what could be done but the installers who came out did an excellent job. Hank and his men did quality work and it took about 8 days. I walked the house after they were done and couldnt find anything that looked like it needed to be re-done. We are happy with the work Hank and his guys did. They also kept everything picked up and I couldnt find as much as a nail after they left. Great job Hank.
Jason was Great! Very professional and knowledgeable.
We had new exterior doors installed on our home. The crew was awesome our doors look amazing and they cleaned up nicely. We are very pleased with the service we had. Doors came within the expected time frame and they where quick to getting us scheduled for instalation.
Had salesperson come onMay 28th and signed up to have soffits and fascia and new gutters put up. Waited until August to hear from somebody, gentleman who I talked to was very pleasant! I was out of town and felt bad I couldn’t talk to him and thank him for the nice work.I had no idea when the gutters would be done but on August23rd I was left a message the gutter installers would be here on Mon. but they were here on Tues. at 2:30 in the afternoon. I talked to one of the workers and was told how long it would take, they were gone by 4:00. I am very happy with their work! Nobody collected my groceries for the food shelf so now I supposeI will have 300.00 added to my bill. It’s always been such a long waiting period to have work done from your company! It would help if you could at least keep customer informed.
Our house was built in 1910. I am a carpenter and construction superintendent since 1980. The house was butchered by the DIY previous owners. What custom remodelers is amazing. The quality of their work exceed my expectations. Thank you so much. Hire them, you wont be disappointed.
Horrible business!!The door to door sales guys took full advantage of a vulnerable elderly lady. Convinced her with their pushy sales pitch to sign a contract right on the spot, with an extremely over priced window. Made her write a check for half down that day. After talking with her son & friends, she called the next day to cancel (which was within their policy time to cancel) and stopped payment on the check.Weeks later, they called harassing her and said that she did not cancel in time because she did not return her signed contract to them. Her contract does not state anywhere that she needed to return it to cancel. They now have threatened her to pay over $2200 or they are going to take her to small claims court and sue. What a joke!! Not sure how these people sleep at night!!Now she has found a wonderful, honest company who is taking great care of her and sold her a better window for almost $3000 less.Good luck to the future of this ridiculous company!!
I called to have a quote done for siding, and after talking with the salesperson about it and getting all of the information, suddenly he went into this whole used car salesman type of pitch, where he quoted my a super high price and then tried to pressure me into signing up for the project right then and there by offering a discount. When I denied it again, the gave me another discount to try to sweeten the deal.On a project like this, one needs to consider multiple vendors and get multiple quotes. High pressure sales tactics like this make me question the ethics of the company. I will NOT be doing business with them.
I put in their window and doors about 2011. The service was great and I love the products. Today they are giving me a quote on a new bay window!
I like the windows because it makes my house look good. And the door just look good. The workers were all very polite and got the job done quick.Robert helped us very much to get the job done.
The quote, scheduling and installation was an efficient process. I appreciated the thorough walk-through on our gutter project before and after the job. We dialogued about a few options with downspout placement. All and all the crew of three was knowledgeable and competent.
The sales rep that came out to our house was on time and very friendly. He was not pushy on making a purchase. He is an excellent sales rep!
I had all of the windows in my house replaced with Lindsay windows. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and the install crew was efficient and friendly. They cleaned up both inside and outside my house after the install. I was very pleased with their work.
Was extremely happy on the upgrade of gutters around my entire house, and garage. Very impressed with the rerouting of the down spouts. We no longer have tripping hazards, nor water near the home. THANK YOU CRI. We appreciate you so much!
Great work. Friendly. Adaptable. On time. Fast. Efficient. Thank you Dave the Gutter Guy for your quality work on my home!
Zach at Custom Remodelers Inc. was very helpful and honest with the options on our roof replacement which consisted of both flat and shingle style roof. He quickly responded to any questions and provided great customer service. We definitely appreciate the wonderful service.
So far we have ordered gutters, windows and doors from CRI with Kevin Kellys help. He did a great job letting us know what products were available to help suit our needs, especially in the doors where we needed them to be wheelchair accessible. He made sure we got everything we needed and helped keep us informed through each project and we are so happy with the results and plan to have Kevin help us in the future.
Outstanding craftsmanship installed sliding doors and windows with no delays. We double checked their pricing on avg 20% below windows of lesser quality.if you have money to burn call someone else!!
Signed up for a drawing at the MN State Fair this past summer - sadly didnt win the prize they were giving away, but I was able to score a 50% off deal to get my roof and gutters redone on my new home!Zach came out to my home, showed me all the information so that I could make an informed decision. Despite not planning on redoing anything at the time, the deal Zach could offer was too good to pass up!We talked through all the details and I was approved on the spot to get everything done and set up the payment plan! It was all super easy and seamless!I am totally satisfied with my new roof! It looks amazing and it was done in only a few short days! The gutters also look great! They took a little bit longer to get installed because it was done by a separate team than the roof, but the quality and ability to get it done quickly was great! The only down side was that they couldnt attach the new gutters to the existing in ground drain that I have in my back yard. Fortunately they are going to be coming back out to fix this, so I dont have runoff puddles in my backyard this spring!I am overall very satisfied with the work that they have done!Thank you CRI!
Had a great experience working with custom remodelers having my whole house full of windows replaced. Professional, friendly, and a great deal. I would recommend and use again in the future.
Caleb Mick came to speak with my husband and I about siding options for our home. He was incredible, he is so easy to talk to we ended up keeping him here chatting for like 4 hours! We talked so many details of siding, colors, shutters, he walked us through every detail. We now will have a beautifully upgraded home in a few weeks and were SO excited! We cant wait to call Caleb for our next project!!! Thank you!
They installed our windows, good quality. Had issues with one window sent repair man right away to help fix the issue.
I did my whole house of windows with CRI I absolutely love them. They look amazing from the inside and out. I went with a wood grain look and it was well worth it. The windows match the wood work in the house and the best part they are all maintenance-free. I would strongly recommend them for any window replacement job.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Salesmen lie, installers show up late, measurement guy can’t fill out paperwork properly, office staff doesn’t respond in a timely fashion, the list goes on. I just had 5 windows and 2 doors installed along with gutters. The only crew who did a reasonably good job was the gutter crew. I’m still cleaning up after them, even though someone came out to do a “spring clean up”. Too many things went wrong that shouldn’t have. As someone in the building trades, it disgusts me to know that people like this are running around town doing this kind of HACK JOB work. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
