Mark and his team were absolutely amazing. They were extremely hardworking and responsive throughout our whole experience, from contract to job completion. They were very professional and courteous and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

I built a new home in Farmington Hills. I already had a decent base if 1x3 for the driveway and Silverback added another good layer of 21aa on top of that. They compacted everything. They started putting the asphalt down but in fortunately Mother Nature conspired against us and gave us an unexpected downpour at the end of the day and they couldn’t get more material. They had to return a few days later so that caused a visible seam. Not a major issue as it was blended well. Mark, the owner, came back after the asphalt cured and sealcoated the driveway and you cannot even see 90% of the seam. It looks great. I have had a few large trucks on the driveway and it held up well. I’d use them again. Communication by phone might be a little awkward as he runs a lean operation, but Mark will call you back or text you. I don’t mind texting as I’m often indisposed to answer the phone.

I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. They just put in our driveway, what we had was a mess of crumbles, it was terrible. I am so happy now! High quality work, they were on time, worked great for our budget, and the work only took a couple hours and the crew was great. I love actually having a driveway to park on now! In fact we already plan to have them come back next Spring to do some more work for us. Highly recommend them to anyone! Dont go anywhere else, theres no need.

The Silverback team made 2 very old driveways look brand new. They were organized and clean. I hired them because I had seen their work and loved it.

They started and finished when they said they would at the agreed upon price. It’s been almost 3 years and I’m very happy with my circle driveway.

Signed a contract with Mark at Silverback on March 4, 2020. I understand the challenges of COVID 19, however, Mark never called me to update me when he would be out of keeping me posted of changes. Mid May when Gov. Whitmer allowed construction to continue in the state, I reached called Mark and he said he’d be out the next week. When he never showed, I called again, and he said that the asphalt manufacturer was slow to get started again and he’d be out the following week. Again, he never showed. When I called him the third week I couldn’t get through and he hung up on me without answering. The following week I texted him and he said he hasn’t forgotten about me, but they have some machinery problems and he’d be out the next week. Again, he’s never showed. At this point I’ve asked for my deposit back of 50% of the quoted price. I still haven’t heard from him. His address on his business card and his quote sheet (11960 Farmington Rd. Livonia MI 48150) are actually the address of a self-storage company called i Storage Self Storage.After weeks of negotiating with Mark and him demanding that I change my review of him, he still has not returned my deposit. At this point Ive filed a police report for fraud, filed a lawsuit for the return of my deposit. Im now pursuing all avenues for recourse and applying pressure at every point to get the return of my deposit. This is very frustrating and time consuming. Certainly would not recommend working with Silverback.

I had Silverback come out and do my driveway 2 years ago and they did such a great job that I have recommend them to several others. They just came out and replaced my mothers driveway and did a wonderful job. Mark was very nice and is very professional. We had a few other companys come out and wanted to charge us almost double, Mark gave us a remarkable job and saved us a lot of money and even came out a sealed our driveway for free for all the recommendations . We will continue to use him in the future and recommend him to anyone looking to fix or replace their driveways.

Could not be any happier with the parking lot we had done by Silverback Asphalt. They were extremely professional and put our job in right away. Mark gave us the best price and even did extra work for us. We will definitely be using him again for our other business and our home in the spring. We would recommend him to everyone. Mark and his crew put new asphalt on my driveway and expanded the parking area. While making the foundation for the expanded parking area they ran into problems due to excessive tree roots. Instead of just paving over the roots he called me up and said that it would be better for the tree and the driveway if they just made the new area compacted gravel. Even though it cost him more in time he did the right thing and put in the correct solution instead of just covering it up and making it look nice.He delivered on time and on budget. He and his crew were friendly and professional and did a great job of cleaning and everything look nice. I will defiantly hire Silverback Asphalt again.

The project started out great, but we had a couple of concerns after they left. Once I reached the right person, Mark stepped up the next day and completed the project and was genuinely apologetic for the confusion. I would use them again if the need arises.

SliverBack was able to come out and finish the job within the same week that I called. I am very happy with the results of my driveway. They filled the thick cracks and covered it all with a excellent black. I definitely recommend Silverback.

********BEWARE**********Will NOT use again and will NOT recommend. Mark is just like the rest of the SCAMMERS out there that will do the bare minimum of the job just to get your money and hope that you dont keep calling him. Mark and his crew did my mothers driveway over the summer. The crew is just as unprofessional as Mark himself. After the job was finished we found BEER cans in her leaf bags, they never shut the garage when blowing dust around so the whole garage is completely filled with dirt and dust. Covering a stored summer car that was in the garage at the time. We also discovered that Mark had backed into a wood gate while doing the job and broke the gate but FAILED to tell us. They also had ruined a brand new privacy fence that I had just installed 1 year ago. In the process some how they had sprayed black tare splatter on sections of the fence and all along the bottom. After bringing these issues up to Mark he told me the he would take off $25 for the damage of the gate and that he would come back and clean the privacy fence and if not replace the damaged section. Mark has NEVER made any attempt to come back and clean the fence at all. Mark also told us that we would receive 1 free seal coat after the driveway had cured. He said that he would be back in September to do the seal coat. So we waited and never heard from him until the middle of November to come back and seal the driveway in the cold weather with rain and leaves falling. He finally showed up to do the seal coat on a 48 degree day after sending me a text message that said sealer can not go down unless the temperature is in the high 50s for 6 hours or more!!!!!! The next day it was raining and the sealer wasnt even dry. So now we will probably have to seal it again next year. And we WONT be calling Silverback Ashfault.O yeah, and he mentioned in one of the text messages that we had to wait until his wife returned from Mexico until he could come over and seal the driveway. *********We should have known right away that he was a SCAMMER when he told us that he wasnt worried about the deposit and wasnt going to run straight to the bank and cash it. But yet he did go straight to the bank the NEXT DAY!*************** I am a hardworking, respectful, and honest person when it comes to doing work for others and Mark and his crew are NOT!

Pre-COVID we signed a contract with them to re-asphalt the driveway. The job ended up being delayed, which is understandable. However, they already had our money and often wouldn’t respond to us for weeks. When they arrived, they tried to get us to pay them an additional $1500 above the agreed price. We ended up paying $500 above the initial price.The job was done…adequately (there are already spots that are crumbling 1 year later), though their communication was poor. They promised (and wrote into the contract) that they would come back 2 months later to seal it. It has now been 15 months. Despite constant attempts to follow up, they either don’t respond, give lame excuses, or tell us that now it’s too late and needs to wait until the spring. Now it can’t happen until spring 2022.They did the initial job, but their communication is so poor that I cannot recommend anyone else use them. They will renege on the contract when it suits them.
