We just happened to stumble in while looking around Lockhart and we have went back several times now. Mark and Jan are 2 of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. They did an absolutely amazing belt for my daughter. I get to go pick my new belt up today. The detail and top notch quality is impressive. Any time we get near the shop, my kids beg to go say hi to Jan and Mark. In my opinion, Old school leathers moth is the best business in Texas. They make me feel like I’m back home in Kentucky. You get what you pay for and I will gladly give my money to these fine folks and their neat shop. Thanks Jan and Mark for treating us like royalty when we come in. Joe, Olivia and Joe #2

This guy has real talent! I’m 50 years old and have been wearin cowboy boots my whole life! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve gotten a pair of my boots repaired. He did half sole, replaced heals, did some inside work, cleaned and polished my 9-10 year old sharks. They are better than brand new! I highly recommend the service here!!!

The leatherwork here is *TOP NOTCH* and the owners, Mark and Jan are helpful, thoughtful, and FAIR people. My boots were in sorry shape, and I mean un-walkable, but I had walked in them anyway, for longer than I should have).Condition before I took them in:By the time I finally just set them aside, the outsole was half thinning away, the heel was completely gone, and I had worn through three or four of the four layers of heel base (three on one, four on the other). Additionally (I found out when I picked them up--just today), the vamp on one of them needed to be re-sewn to the welt, which needed to be re-attached to the sole. They were just a mess. The first thing Mark asked when he saw them was, Do you have back problems? and I said Um, hell yeah. He replied, Ill bet.Condition upon pick-up:They are beautiful. They dont look new, because theyve been worn and loved and have developed a patina which reflects that, but they are beautiful and probably look better than they have since I first bought them in 2003 (or 4?). I love that theyre worn in and I love that Mark was able to recover their beauty from years of neglect on my part. The pictures speak volumes. I wish I had before pictures to post as well.I have lived in Lockhart off and on for 13 years now (I guess you could technically say 35 since I also lived here the first four years of my life... But lets not split hairs), and I have seen and walked past this leather shop countless times even though my boots have been in dire need of repair for a decade or so. Why? Because Im lazy. Literally, that. Is. It.Dont be like me. Take care of your shoes, take care of your back, and take care of your local crafts- and businessmen. Everyone wins.

Really is a special place made by special people. It is chock full of “old school” hand made things.. if you ever wanted those knee high Buffalo moccasins like myself here is the place to go. I wish the rest of Tx was so hand made and contentious to craft and service. Super.

As the owner, in response to Bob,we stand behind our work. We are more than happy to look at your boots and see exactly why you are so unhappy. We take your complaint very seriously and are willing to remedy any issue. Interestingly, however, I do not find a customer by the name of Bob Fritsch.
