We had an AC unit that was not working, so we called Gary Ricks to have it looked at and to service both of our furnaces. Shawn and Michael showed up and quickly got to work one cleaning and one diagnosing the problems we were having. I appreciated the way they respected our time and were quick and efficient at taking care of our home. Both took time to explain the issues we were having and what needed to be done to fix it, and I didnt feel like they were trying to push extra services or fixes that werent necessary. Very knowledgeable and helpful I would use them again and will definitely recommend them to others.

From the time I called to schedule the service to the time the duct cleaning was finished, our experience with Gary Ricks was really great. Office staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient while I asked some questions. Cost was affordable for our square footage, and I was able to pay in advance.Techs who came (Ralph and 1 other tech) were on time, efficient, friendly, and seemed to enjoy their work. They kept me up-to-date on their progress, interesting findings, and even showed me a before/after pic of the dryer vent (WOW! They got that thing CLEAN).After they left, I found a minor issue due to the techs having to transport equipment up/down our stairs. I watched the techs carefully moving their equipment, but sometimes things happen no matter how careful we try to be. The team at Gary Ricks was understanding, responsive, and made it right. I HIGHLY recommend Gary Ricks!

I’m a handy man and can do most around the house projects. But when it came to installing a gas line for our gas dryer I figured I’d have a professional come do it. Calling this company was a big mistake. Shawn, The guy who came to do it was anything but professional. He was only there for an hour and a half but charge me for two hours. 30 minutes of that he spent not working but talking about himself and his family. I had to walk away so that he would stop talking and work instead of wasting my time. I’m not 100% sure why he had to take so many measurements. He also spent a good 30 minutes on the phone talking to someone instead of working. To me he seemed quite unprofessional and at the end of it all he told me he wasn’t able to run the line for the dryer. I’ve had other gas lines installed before and within 15 minutes the person told me whether it was possible or not. I don’t understand why it took him so long to tell me that it wasn’t possible. In the end I was out over 200 bucks and no gas line. I should’ve just learned how to do it myself. Really not impressed with this company. I will never called him again.

Okay, so long story short, we bought an old church that no one had lived in for a decade. It wasnt long before we realized that the gym of our new home was FREEZING--literally (we left our water storage in there and it was ice). We contacted Gary Ricks and he came out personally (along with Mike), gave us a bid, and installed a 200,000 BTU hanging furnace.I cant express how many odd hiccups occur when working in an old building, but Gary and Mike were undeterred. Not only that but even when we encountered problems (like a scissor-lift breaking through a ramp that I built) Gary was always kind and positive (other companies Ive worked with often seem annoyed by problems they encounter). Gary met every challenge head on and ultimately we now have a heated gym...and he did it quickly.I originally decided to go with Gary Ricks when I read the reviews. It is nice to know that there is someone who we can call who is ready and willing to come out to Lewiston, has a great attitude, and cares about their customers. There is no doubt that will be using them in the future as we encounter more happy surprises with our church-home. Thanks Gary!

They had to come out four separate times to replace a part on our water heater. Once they had the right parts it only took them 30 minutes to fix everything.We got a bill for three hours of work. They said they would bill our landlord, but instead sent the bill to our apartment. Since we didnt pay the bill within 5 days they are charging a $26 late fee.They were nice while they were here, but this feels shady.

I called Gary Ricks first because of the radio jingle and the great reviews I read. Gary showed up, assessed the job, gave me a list of everything I needed and scheduled a date. The crew showed up bright and early as scheduled. This was the first repair completed since the incident with bad, bad swamp cooler. (Still waiting on the inside repairs to be done.)The crew of Teryl Egbert, Jason Sorenson, Stan Freeman and Carl Lee were exceptional. The job took longer than they planned and they stayed until everything was done and perfect. They were professional and friendly. I happen to own the biggest cooler they make and watching them get that beast on my roof was an experience! I highly recommend this team if you have any HVAC needs. Thanks guys! We had Greg, Jake, and Jason work on our ducts and furnace to help clean from years of poor maintenance from prior occupants. They were all professional and efficient. Very easy to work with! We will definitely be using them going forward.

Unfortunately this was a terrible experience in the end. I am generally a very optimistic person and look for the best in others despite hard situations and mistakes because we all make them. We called Gary Ricks to have them come out to get our humidifier up and going for the winter season as the previous owners had said they were the ones who had taken care of this in the past. Shawn came out on December 11th and apparently replaced a filter that was $105 and charged us an hourly rate of $78, which was perfectly fine. He said to keep an eye on our thermostat as the humidity would slowly climb. We were excited and kept and eye on things, but nothing changed. It never appeared to turn on so we gave them a quick call to see if we could have them come take a look. Shawn said that he would have to charge us the hourly rate from the time he left the shop to head our way until the time he left our property because it was working when he left. I was a little confused about this so made a call to the office to see if I could talk to Gary about it. Days went by with no response. Called again, and again. Finally Stephanie got back with me and she said she would schedule someone to come out and it would be free of charge. I stayed home from work awaiting their call and about an hour into the time frame given they said they were going to reschedule and have Gary himself come out and take a look the following week. I stayed home again, now Jan 13 within the time frame of 2-3 and at 3:30 Gary and Shawn showed up with a form for me to sign stating that I would pay $78/hour from the time they left their shop. I talked to them for a little bit and then kindly asked them to leave. No offer to look to see if it was an error on their end, nothing. If I didnt sign the form, they would not do the work! Definitely do NOT recommend them in the customer service department.

Called to turn on humidifier and the initial service was great, happy to pay for it. As Shawn the tech left, he said if you have any issues or its not working, call me and Ill come take care of it. It of course never worked, so we called, and sure theyll come take care of it, for another $78/hr. The first payment I guess wasnt good enough to get the humidifier turned on, so they want another payment. Worthless service guys, when you take someones money for a job, you do the job. If you screw up and it doesnt work, you fix it. Dont ever use these guys!

Shawn was on time, diligent, very friendly and super helpful with all my questions while servicing our furnace and water heater. We’ve never had anything but wonderful experiences with Gary Ricks in the last 4 years we’ve been using them for everything from routine furnace/AC/water heater tune ups, replacing our furnace, removing old gas lines, etc. They made getting our rebate for new furnace really easy back in December 2017 and I appreciated Shawn encouraging us to get carbon monoxide detectors this season since I’ve kept forgetting about and now they’re finally installed! He also identified that the dryer vent was blowing lint right into the compressor fins - something we did not know was going on, and hard to see, but he cleaned it out for us and there was a ton of gunk that came out. Had Shawn out to check out our A/C after higher-than normal electric bills during the season. He took his time to review our system and worked to get it tested even though by the time our appointment arrived it was heading into Fall and quite a bit cooler, making testing a more challenging endeavor. Throughout it all Shawn was courteous and efficient and gave us recommendations based on the testing.Have been very satisfied with Gary Ricks and signed up for their 3-year service plan. One thing to note, though, is that they are good enough that wait times for non-emergency visits can be a bit so I recommend planning ahead - the service is worth it.

Gary Ricks took on a very challenging job with our REALLY old house that has parts of it that have been upgraded several times over the past 130+ years. There were many unforeseen challenges due to the unique construction of our home. But Gary chose to honor his original price quote despite the many additional difficulties that he encountered along the way. Then he had the character to stand behind his companys work when an out of state inspector came and nit-picked at small details of the A/C and water heater, over a year later (Warranty expired). He came out and told his guys (who have been friendly and respectful every time Ive met different ones) to fix small and annoying details to make the home inspector happy, and he shook my hand and said no charge on this one. We just felt that such integrity is hard to find these days and would like to recommend Gary Ricks Services to anyone who needs any Furnace/AC/Water Heater work done!

I own a business in Logan UT and called to have them come and look at the air-conditioning unit on top of the building. The service man charged me for 3 1/2 hours of work. When really sat in his car and only working on the unit for less than a 1/2 hour. I dont feel like this is an honest company and I was way over charged for the services done. Total cost $590.50 and then they told me that I would need to replace the unit.The unit is doing just fine and didnt need to be replaced.

I just scheduled a duct cleaning with one of their gals in the office, not only did they honor a quote that they gave me while they were doing a sale, but they got me scheduled within a week. I used to coach HVAC CSRs all over the country full time on best practices and I wish I would have written her name down. She is great. Professional, easy to work with, rearranged the schedule so they could get everything done on one day. These guys are great. I’m excited to see the techs next week. I had let the scheduler know that I accidentally double booked myself with a cancer check up down in Layton and wouldn’t be available until 11, so at first it was a little frustrating because we had to rush home to meet them. I was much snippier than necessary to their staff. The 100% honest truth is that once I called them to ask why they were early (while we were rushing through the canyon) they literally did everything they could to make it right. It was a simple miscommunication because it was a busy day for the techs. They were even willing to shift lunches around to accommodate us. Really 10/10 service. I’ve never been so thoroughly sold on a company this quickly.The techs were phenomenal. They were incredibly professional, thorough, and fast. They sent us Greg and Jake (I sure hope that I remembered their names right). Greg was training Jake and gave him the lead at our home. I have to say that Greg did a fantastic job as a trainer. For the jobs that Jake had done he made him make the decisions, constantly quizzing him on wiring, proper technique, you name it. The coolest part was that you could see that Greg was patient, and they had a good working relationship so Jake wasn’t afraid to be wrong. On top of that Greg was a really slick salesman and had convinced me to get a fall tune up on my furnace before he left. I don’t like to leave lengthy reviews if I can help it. I just hope that management sees this because Greg is a great teacher and that should be recognized.In our world it feels like reviews like this sell a company before we even work with them, and I can say that these guys really are worth every single 5 star they have gotten. Our AC is running like a dream, and having our ducts cleaned has made an instant difference to our asthma and allergies. One note that would be important, I was expecting a camera inspection of my ducts, but I’m assuming that is an upgraded service, but I probably would have sprung for it had I known I needed to request it. I was so impressed with the company I just assumed that they had all the bells and whistles on every visit😂. I should have known better having worked in the HVAC industry and asked for it. I’m almost happy I didn’t, the work they did without the camera worked wonders. If you made it this far, you should give yourself some chocolate, it was a little long winded. I just feel like in the home services industry you can get shady techs because a lot of companies run off of commission, but Gary Ricks left us with the impression of honesty and highly professional work. Shawn was our TEC this year (this is our second year on an annual service contract with Gary Ricks Inc) and he did a great job servicing our AC units. I feel much better about going into the warm months ahead.

Greg from Gary Ricks arrived on time for my furnace cleaning. He was friendly and thorough. He was genuinely concerned for us when he discovered a CO leak. He and Shawn returned after hours to assess the situation. They were willing to come back the same day to spec out a new system so we could have heat again as soon as possible. I was very impressed with Shawn from Gary Ricks Services. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable and he spent the time to do a thorough job inspecting and cleaning our furnace. He also gave me a detailed checklist showing what he had done and how our system was functioning. I highly recommend Gary Ricks Services and will definitely call them again.

Nice Technicians who seemed to know what they are doing. My biggest complaint is they charged $190 to replace a Hot surface igniter that is only $20 at home depot. From the time he knocked on the door to pulling out in his van with the furnace working was less than 30 minutes, but their policy is to bill out for a full 2 hours.

From start to finish, we had a great experience. The lady on the phone was very helpful, and Shawn was very friendly and knowledgable. They got us in the next day, and their prices were very fair. I am for sure calling them again when I need my furnace or AC serviced here in Logan. An easy recommendation!
