Bought my first firearm from here back when everyone thought the world was ending and I’ve been coming back ever since. Everyone here has been nothing but friendly to me and they’re all incredibly knowledgeable, which, of course, you’d expect from a family-owned gun shop. I keep seeing photos of another part of the store with maintenance tools, range bags and other items that I’m not sure actually exists, but next time I go in, I’m gonna look for it. Had a snafu with a Gunbroker order and they took awesome care of me. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. I just wish I lived closer.

Recently made a purchase here (first ever) and they were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. Wasn’t sure what to expect as a black man walking into a gun store for the first time and they answer every question I had and made some good suggestions on my purchase. Will definitely be back.

I had told him that we were going around to a few shops to see what they have and that we might be back and he said okay well if you dont find anything then feel free to come back and ill help you out which is normally not the reaction when you tell someone that, so i was impressed. So Ive been to this shop probably on 3 or 4 different occasions, and have always been impressed with how helpful and friendly the staff has been. On my last visit, i spoke with Nick about getting an Apex trigger installed. Not only did he do an excellent job, but he was extremely helpful throughout the whole process, whether I had a question or concern. I would highly recommend this shop, and look forward to doing business here again.

VERY NICE FAMILY OWNED GUN SHOPI used this store for an FFL transfer. This store was one of the preferred FFL transfer stores for Brownells. I emailed Jeff first to see if he could order me the item I was looking for. Jeff told me to just order it and ship it to his store. After ordering the item I sent North American Firearms an email and a copy of the shipping invoice so they were aware of what item would be arriving. Upon arrival I stopped in and filled out the paperwork and came back in 3 days. I worked with Nick. He was very patient . They are very knowledgeable about the CZ pistols that I was interested in. When I went back to get my FFL transfer item I wanted to them order me a CZ pistol but he mentioned their suppliers are out of them, so no point in ordering the CZ pistol. I will just wait until the gun buying frenzy slows down. Jeff the owner replied to my emails very promptly. Customers are lined up outside since they only allow 3 people in at a time to comply with Covid 19 distance rules. Please be patient if you go there . They may be to busy to answer their phone, so just send and email. Being an African American Male, I feel very uncomfortable entering gunshots. The staff at (North American Firearms) was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the second I walked in. Great people, great experience. Professional atmosphere that will keep me coming back!. I used their store for an FFL transfer for an online order from another Shop. They were extremely helpful and courteous and only charged $35. No fuss, everything is done by tablet/computer go somewhere else pay more and get a bad attitude. Now I know where to go. My cousin and I are fairly new to fire arms and came in today as first time buyers and we couldnt have asked for a better experience. They were super friendly, welcoming and were happy to answer all our questions. Will defiantly return and recommend to all family and friends.

I brought my firearm in there because thats where I bought it and it wouldnt fire at the range. Bernadette took it and said it would just be a few bucks to have her gun smith look at it and test fire it. $80 later, I got it back.Got it back and took it to the range and nothing. Wouldnt fire again. I ended up taking it to a gun smith that I googled and he took it apart when I was there and showed me that the firing pin plunger lever was cracked. So basically that means that the gun smith that Bernadette handed it off to lied and said he test fired it and it worked perfectly fine. That piece was broken all the while. Further more, the new gun smith said it didnt even look like he cleaned it. 3 stars because I think Bernadette is cool and thats why i didnt go 1 star. FYI. Your gun smith is a cheat and sucks at what he does.

Bought several times from here. Always nice and knowledgeable. They dont overcharge or try to rip you off like some other gun shops have tried to do to me. I dont see myself buying new from anyone else.

Great people to deal with.... there response to emails is faster then the speed of light! I emailed them numerous times from the middle of the day to 8pm at night..... always had a response between 10 to 45 minutes. There price was the lowest around and the service was top notch. The only store that I will buy guns from in Illinois. Saved 50$ dollars on my M&P going here instead of my local gun store. The customer service is outstanding. They are very knowledgeable friendly and take the time allow you to really look into what ever gun you want.

This is a FANTASTIC place to buy a firearm, ask any questions, or just window shop. The staff is incredibly friendly and understanding, and LOVES to talk with everyone, whether youre a regular or a first timer. I was referred by a friend from work, and I ended up buying a new revolver through them. They gave me an unbeatable price on the revolver, and I really do mean unbeatable. With taxes included, I paid $50 less than the base price at any other gun store within driving distance. They also do FFL transfers for a really decent price as well. They charge $20 less than GAT, and even offer to pack it for you as well. The only draw back is the size of the parking lot, but that shouldnt affect the rating of the actual store. I recommend stopping by, since they always have a constant supply of new and used firearms in stock.

Went in looking for some basic information, the women running the shop (believe she is the owner), was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and more. I will surely do business with her again. Also liked the atmosphere, felt down to earth and like a mom and pop shop (like gun shops used to be).

Went to Article II and spent money on accessories. I would not buy a gun from them period. They have a bad attitude. I went to North American Firearms just to look and asked their cost for FFL shipping ($30) because I was going to order online. We talked and I loved the people. Friendly and helpful, so I decided to order from them. They came within $15 of the online price (including tax and shipping). No problem. Now I have a dealer that I both like and trust and I know I can buy at a fair price. Theres two more guns I want to buy and I will come back to this store.

Price and service cannot be beat. Walked in looking for 9mm ammo walked out waiting for my Smith and Wesson 1911 performance center pistol.Witch to that point was almost impossible to find at a reasonable price Bernadette gave me a price in line with other dealers but the catch was I had to wait 6 plus weeks for it she got on the computer within a minute told me she had a distributor with 6 in stock SOLD.

Cant answer their phone. I called 14 times. Jerks.

This is how a gun store is supposed to be. Friendliest staff in the Chicagoland area, knowledgeable and honest. They dont try to upsell you, and they dont mind handling transfers from out of state dealers. They also have a wide selection of long guns and hand guns, both new and used. They always tell you, If we dont have it in stock, well find it for you, and they really mean it. Whether youre looking for your first firearm or searching for that one piece to complete your collection, you should at the very least give them a call.

She has been attentive to her emails, questions and concerns.I always prefer working with local businesses and this is an all american local business.My only complaint was I did not see a tip jar for service, and as we all know, thats more like a compliment.If you are shopping around - your first best step is to come to this shop first, I have been to many, and this is a rare gem exceeding both pricing and service. Started out at Article II and encountered the same why are you bothering me attitude, and they didnt even offer to order something I was looking for. So I gave North American in Lombard a try. Although they are not as large as some shops, they are customer oriented and have no problem ordering what you need. Bernadette the owner is really great to work with.

Claims open at 10am on Tuesday. Not true. Google and sign in business is wrong. Wasted lots of time driving here and no one answered the door or phone at 10:15 am. I edited google to show 12 since that’s probably when they really open.

Dont respond to email, phone calls, and this was after I went in to get a card and spoke to someone that said to email them. I would love to support a local FFL dealer and local shop but I wouldnt trust them to do right after a week of no responses.

Went in today to purchase some ammo. Afterwards I asked to see the RIA 1911 Id read so many reviews about and Jeff was informative and not pushy at all. They have a limited selection in house but he said they can order anything​ I want.I really like how laid back he was. He just shot the breeze and answered my questions just as quick as I could throw them at him. I had a good experience and will go back when the wife gets over the last few purchases I made.Also Id like to add they carry all the lines of Hornady Critical Defense ammo, it was about $5 more for the box of 20 than what I pay online but after shipping its a wash.-Edit May 2017-Im knocking off a star. Called when searching for a Springfield EMP. Not a cheap gun. Called during business hours to see if they had the EMP or Kimber Ultra Carry II in stock. Nobody answered so I left a message and never got a call back. I was considering giving them a chance and order through them but ended up buying elsewhere and having it shipped to a local FFL. Id also hesitate to use North American Firearms as my FFL now because of this. It makes me wonder how long my firearm would sit ready for pickup before someone bothered calling. Would I have to call every day to see if its ready? Ill stick with my guy who calls me before I even get the delivery notification email through the shipping company.

I made a purchase thru guns america and had the fire arm sent here. I stopped in on a Sat, to pick up the fire arm. Bernadette handled the pickup transaction, filling out the required paper work, inspecting the firearm and fee payment. Transaction took less than 15 minutes.Before my departure Bernadette informed me to please contact her for any future arms purchase that her store was competitive. Very happy the service she gave picking up my firearm.Bam.Two months later I stop in to speak with Bernadette about another fire arm I wanted to purchase. Jots down the make and model of firearm. 5 minutes later she has a price (very competitive) and arrival date (Damn fast). My transaction thru guns america took one month to complete, not happy. Here Bernadette at NAF my transaction could be done in less than a week. Oh yes, I promptly said yes order it up and gave her a deposit. One week later I was picking up my new fire arm. It is an absolute pleasure to deal with this fine company. No down talk, no eyes rolling, no pressure trying to up sell, no making you feel stupid. Just good straight up customer service. Looking forward to future arms purchases as well as liquidating arms with NAF.
