I worked with Joe Gilsdorf, and would recommend that anyone car shopping for a preowned BMW (like I was) or any other higher-end car definitely go here and ask for Joe specifically.Having purchased a car in the past, I was familiar with the “typical” dealership experience and had prepared myself for pushy salesmen, inflated prices, and hours of haggling. It’s unpleasant sure, but it’s what we all expect. Not at all what happened here. Joe was fantastic, and made my experience not just painless but actually enjoyable. Buying a new car is supposed to be fun and exciting! Wow!I just purchased my 6th vehicle from the only place that I have purchased vehicles from since locating to the Los Angeles area. What a joke list cars w 130,000 miles . Once I drive an hour read the car facts it has had over 400,000. You try to negotiate and they say we just are going to run it through auction. I just wasted two hours and these guys act like my time is nothing. On top of that they say they dont have device to check engine light. SCAMMERS

I was extremely nervous walking in because Ive had pretty stressful experiences purchasing and leasing cars. My cousin had been coming to South bay pre owned for over 10yrs and I decided to give them a try. First I met Pete who made me feel very welcomed and made sure I would be taken care of. He then introduced me to Joe. He was amazing i told them what I was looking for and he was on top of it. Uncle Joe, (i call him that now cuz hes cool like that) called several places searching for the car i wanted until he found it. I was amazed on how quickly it was done. Never once did i feel pressured. Hes very patient and made sure to be in constant communication with me. He also made sure to give me the best deal possible. 1 month ago, I found a 335i coupe listed online for $9995. When I went to the site, the same car was listed at $11995. The price I saw online was a special and they would not negotiate a single penny off. Keep in mind I was ready to buy it with cash $9500. They said it was a hot price. They’ve been getting offers and it would sell any day now. It’s been sitting on the lot for 3 years. And is still in that lot today. So they wouldn’t lower it by 500$ to make a cash sale, get it off the lot, after being on the lot for 3 years.

Do not buy a car or truck from here! Very shotty business people. Will rush you into purchasing, the mechanics on there cars are NOT up to par. They dont even have a mechanic on site to service or fix issues, and there shop is set up to be a CREEPY studio.

Our experience went from extremely positive to extremely disappointing very quickly. We were up front with the manager, Pete, about the limited amount we would be getting back for our totaled vehicle, and he assured us that he could work with us even though we were adamant about not financing anything extra. When we returned a couple days later with the cash, Pete made it clear that he had no intention of letting us drive off the lot without financing. Another sales associate tried to show us other vehicles, which we appreciated, but in the end, Pete proved that he wasn’t at all willing to work with us. We wasted a lot of time even though we were honest and up front about how much money we had. Would give zero stars if we could.

I just purchased a car from Pete. It was great experience and easy transaction. Pete and I reached an agreed upon price over phone and I flew in to finish the deal. He gave me a great price and honored everything he told me when we spoke over the phone. He is a man of his word. I would highly recommend doing business with Pete and his team.

Friendly staff but the car I bought had a transmission leak on the way home and after getting that fixed transmission started slipping, and it turns out I need to replace it completely. So if you plan on getting a car here go over it with a fine toothed comb, check all the fluid levels and let it run for a while with the hood open. Hopefully you wont have to spend what you said in repairs not even a week out

Staff was very accomodating at first, but when we emphasized that we were only looking to test drive and still needed to weigh several options, they continued to hassle us with lowering the price. I love a good discount; however if you have slash $3,000-4,000 off a car, how good could it be. At the end my husband and I left with a sour taste and realized its all about the bottom line, not the customer.

Oh it was cool when I made the purchase. Paul put on a good show. Joked and pretended to display descent customer service. I have only had the car just under 3 months and already I have had to replace the Starter, Cam Shaft Sensors (both of them), the Radiator and the Front Brakes. I have heard of used and as is but damn, could I have at least enjoyed the vehicle for at least 6 months before I pay a years worth of car payments in 3 months. If you read this, do not be like me and ignore a previous customers who warned us with her Review (Allison). I had doubts but my co-worker talked me into going there. I promise I will listen next time. I want to thank her for her review and more people should tell it like it is. Whatever you do, do not buy a vehicle from South Bay Pre-Owned. Youre better off taking public transit than a used car from this place.Just aside from their shoddy sales tactics and the low quality of their pre-owned vehicles; the sales person I was working with was amazing until I started having with my car days after I had purchased it. Then he became impossible to reach and had to sit in the lobby for who knows how long and none of his co workers or superiors had a clue when he would return from his lunch. I called, spoke to Paul. I asked about an M4 listed online. He said he still had it, it was moved to the warehouse but it’s available. I told him I would be driving 2 hours to get there and am preapproved and ready to purchase. He assured me the car would be on site by the time I had gotten there. I arrived as planned, the vehicle was not there yet. There were only 2 people working there and neither had anything to do. They both were playing on their phones and neither of them even greeted me until I approached them about 15 minutes after arriving, very rude. He said it would be another 20 minutes. I went to have dinner somewhere local. I came back, the vehicle was still not there. I was very upset at the horrible customer service, lies, and false advertising. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

This is exactly what you’d expect out of a used car place. If you ever get an online offer from someone named Paul, save yourself some time and don’t go in.

Looked at a car they had (and still have) my body shop guy and mechanic checked it out and the thing was in horrible condition, not worth anywhere near the asking price. Both indicated this is a common occurrence there. In dealing with them, they kept changing the price, and when they found out I was a cash customer, they seemed to lose interest. Glad I had the car checked out first. Id recommend doing so to anyone who shops here.

I originally went in fo 2008 Evo but it had a few things I wasnt expecting. No back seat and a few wires hanging BUT it was obviously a modified racing car.. SO i looked around the lot and found a few cars and I got my 2013 Challenger. Its been great no issues in mint condition at a great price based on research. They got me a great APR and got me the lowest payment i didnt expect I left happy the guys kept the shop open late for me and got me fully setup. No issues here too bad I hear all these bad reviews Im definitely looking into going to get My second car there too.

I purchased a 2002 Bentley arnage on the 25th of July 2019 I had the car carried to my residence in northern California and it ride on a Sunday I drove it three blocks to church and the check engine light came on gearbox light oil light when I put it in reverse it was sluggish the transmission I sent the vehicle back theyve had it for almost a month I had a transported back to me today got in the vehicle you take my son to work and within 15 minutes to check engine lights back on I forgot to mention that the back windows wouldnt come down doors wooden lock the only thing that they actually fix during the 4 weeks if theyve had it is the windows horrible place sales manager Pete was very very rude to me over the phone once you got my money youve been warned

Screwed me over. Did an even trade and 8 months later no registration....i then down graded for a beautiful convertable that broke down 10 times in one month and put a grand into repairs not including the price of towing (let me also say I am handicapped) they told me to come in and they will take care of the car and let me choose another. Well they only gave me 5 grand on a 14K deal as a TRADE IN....WTF??? In one month giving me 5 making me lose 9? then the only car i can get i end up with $600 payments for 23 months......I went from payed off car valued at 16K to nothing cause I had a heart attack and I am one month late and they threatened if the car is not returned by 5 today, the car will be reported STOLEN...im getting my lawyer.

Went in 4th of July weekend after I found a car listed there on craigslist, a 2011 Honda Civic CNG model that isnt easy to find. We did the deal and everything has been great. No problems with the car, waited 3 months to post a review. Id go back with no worries. If youre looking for a somewhat older car, make sure you take a mechanic to check it out before you buy. Some of these reviews seem like the buyers thought they were buying a new car off the lot.

When one of the workers dropped me off at home I went back over two hours later to get paperwork my car had not got back yet, put about 25 miles on it when I only live about 4 miles away! On top of that 3 weeks later and I had only got 1 call back asking me to drop the price $3,000 and they were EXTREMELY RUDE about it, hanging up the phone after I disagreed with it. Picked up my car because I had sold by myself online because obviously they werent doing their job and the car had almost 100 miles more then when I dropped it off blaming inspection work when they apparently had a mechanic on site! This troubles me.Today I am making my final payment on my used car from South Bay Pre-Owned, installment #24, and I will have title to my Jaguar as per our sales contract.

CAR SHOPPERS BEWARE!! I WOULD NOT SEND MY WORST ENEMY HERE!!! IF ANY OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF HERE WOULD LIKE TO JOIN ME IN SUING THESE CRIMINALS, I HAVE A 1 HOUR VERY TELLING RECORDING OF A SOUTH BAY PRE-OWNED EMPLOYEE HIMSELF SPILLING THE BEANS ABOUT ALL OF THE UNETHICAL AND SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES GOING ON THERE. I was also sexually harrased by one of the employees that continued to text me and call me every day after I bought the car until my husband was forced to put a stop to it ( I have all of these text messages saved on my phone as well). My next door neighbor happened to go in to this STEALERSHIP within a week of me buying my car and was asked by this employee what kind of clothes I wear around the house and if I always dress so sexy. My neighbor was so disgusted and creeped out by his comments that he left as swore that he would tell everybody he knows not to ever step foot in this place again. So let me now explain my experience..., THE WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE WAS BUYING A CAR FROM SBPO. On Feb 4th, I purchased a 2006 BMW 325i. I really liked the car but I noticed when we went on the test drive that the traction control light was on and the car had a noticeable delay in starting like the car was struggling to turn on even though it did start, the breaks also squeaked but since they wanted to close the deal Paul and Jay both assured me that they would fix any problems or issues with the car and Paul told me he would even throw in a 30 day warranty to put me at ease and I believed them. Looking back on the situation now, I feel like an idiot for trusting them and not doing my research like I would normally do before I bought a car from these crooks and now I am paying for it, LITERALLY! It is hard to condense my nightmare of an experience into one paragraph but basically, I brought my car in 3 different times to be fixed and not only did they not fix it, now only 35 days after purchasing the car and CONVENIENTLY FOR THEM, the car just so happened to breakdown 5 days after my BS 30 day warranty ended and will not even start now. I had the car towed to my mechanic and apparently it is a serious electrical problem. My mechanic told me that there is no way that any mechanic with half of a brain or any experience could have missed that when they supposedly had the car inspected before they sold it to me or during the 3 different times their mechanic claimed to have thoroughly inspected the car and found no major problems. I have since found out from the same employee that my car sat there all day from 9am til 5pm and then their mechanic (an arco oil change guy from down the street that they tell everybody is a mechanic) came over, looked at it for 30 minutes, didnt even put the car up to look under the hood-NOTHING, and applied some sort of spray that you can buy from Oreily that stops the squeaking for a short period of time and then called me to say your car is ready, we fixed everything and youre all ready to go now! After I complained they had me bring it back but it was always just more lies and never any actually fixed anything and now the car will not even start. IMPORTANT: THEY REFUSE TO GIVE YOU RECEIPTS FOR ANY WORK THEY DO ON YOUR CAR EVEN IF YOU ASK AND COMPLAIN AND THIS IS WHY!!! To top all of this off, I called the owner Pete Guerrero today to tell him what my mechanic said in the hopes that they would actually offer to fix it and he could not have been a bigger A-hole! He was sarcastic and condescending the entire time, would not let me get one word in and even told me and I quote wow, you remind me of my ex-wife, you like to complain a lot and repeat yourself over and over again and mocked me like I was an idiot. I now have to begin the process of taking them to court because they could not simply do the right thing and fix the car the first time like they promised. FRIENDS DONT LET FRIENDS BUY CARS FROM SOUTH BAY PRE-OWNED!!!

South Bay Pre Owned Scamm Artist I filled out application on line for a car listed the a price .next morning received an e mail from Pete approving me for financing I then contacted peter I to verify and set up a test drive after doing this we started the the paper work it was then I and my family realized their true intentions they raised the price of the vehicle by $1000 . when I caught this they then told me the car could not go home with me because it needed a break sensor when I told them I would just bring it back next morning they refused and then told me they could not finance the car it had to be paid in full and leave my down payment so they can hold the car or it would go back on their inventory list my husband asked what the problem was and Pete the owner got rude and nasty and demanded us to leave his lot and called the local police and made false accusations in order to even get them to come to this fraudulent establishment its almost as if this is a regular thing with them .
