Knowledgeable staff. They always have what you need. Definitely my favorite shop to go to.
Me: I need another hobby. How bout making wine from the grapes I grow!?My family: push off- no way!Stein Fillers: Lets do it!This shop is magnificent. It is full of tools to make your home brew or wine and it has very reasonable prices. It shop is very helpful and very willing to dispense good advice. If this review is a tie break whether to go or not then I say it’s an emphatic “Go”!
A big thank you to Stein Fillers for getting me going. Im looking forward to getting started on home brewing, and they are knowledgeable and well stocked. I had seen the reviews that they are getting and tolerate no fools. I can sure see how that would be true, but I came in as a serious buyer, got what I needed, and got good service and goods. Thank you Stein Fillers.
I left immediately after entering because the owner was not wearing a mask in the store.
Great place ❤Had what I needed and I was able to donate items I didnt need anymore
Always a good experience very knowledgeable staff. Competitive prices.
Great for all brewing supplies...
Liked it a lot - friendly staff
Best shop in Long Beach. I dont know their names, they dont know mine. A real bootleggers vibe.
This is the best Local Home Brew Shop that I have ever visited. Fantastic selection with great service by the knowledgeable staff. They sell malt and grain in amounts down to a tenth of a pound, and mill it for you.
Nice store but dont bother asking the owner questions of you are still learning. Hes not too friendly. Been to other homebrew stores where people are far more helpful.
Great home brew store. Great selection of supplies and very knowledgeable people. Even as a beginner I was given some very helpful tips without feeling like a newbie.
They do not talk down to people who are new to brewing which some professionals do. They answer all your questions and are full of helpful and useful tips. We also came in under budget for an entire brewing set up. Would recommend to any brewer beginner or pro!
They have everything for your brew day !!!!.
Its just great to have a place for home brew making in Long Beach. The guy working there was pretty nice, but we kind of felt like he was a bit condescending toward us when we told him we brew ciders. He was not knowledgeable about cider brewing so we had to consult our own books for our answers. They are definitely on top of beer brewing though.
They have just about everything you need, i would give it five stars only if we could drink beer here...
There is a wide selection of makes and equipment, but I highly recommend calling about their malt selection before arrival in case you need to sub out something they dont have.
My local homebrew shop. The staff has a lot of experience and knowledge about homebrewing. The prices can be high but if you figure in taxes and shipping costs they are comparable to shopping online and you get to actually know what you are buying. Support you local home brew shop.
Higher prices than other home brew locations but has a good selection and friendly folks
Great place to grab anything you need for brewing at home. Very easy to follow beer kits. Helpful volunteers when you ask for help.
Ive been homebrewing for almost a decade, and this is my go-to store for supplies. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are competitive with online retailers. Definitely worth checking out if you havent been there.
Great local Long Beach resource for home brewing supplies. The staff are knowledgeable and can help you if you ask them. Ill keep going back for kits and supplies.
I looked into bulk buying the items included in their pre-made recipe boxes. It was gonna cost nearly 25% more plus finding storage! These prices can’t be beat and the guys are all really cool and don’t even laugh at my stupid ideas/mistakes!5 stars all day
Bought my first brewing kit here...really helpful staff. Good prices and a lot of supplies in hand.
Rude, irritable, and unhelpful. Typical homebrew store. Couldn’t answer a simple question without being condescending.
Has some brewing essentials but some of the staff are not educated on actual brewing, which would have been helpful.
Ive never had anything but exemplary service from everybody in the store. The staff are all experienced brewers and can answer any question, give expert advice, and help you walk out with everything you need to brew great beer at home. They carry malt grains, extracts (DME and LME), specialty grains, yeasts, hops, and all the gadgets youre going to need. Competitively priced, fully stocked, and ready to serve! Cheers!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of ingredients too!
Not super friendly people, but they are informative and, once asked, are helpful.
Stein fillers is really one of the best home-brew stores out there; they have kits for those just getting into home-brew and have all the a-la-carte ingredients for those who want to freestyle and create their own special brews.
Nice place. Nice staff. Well stocked. What else can i say??
This place is AMAZING! Highly recommend for all your home brew needs.
Fully stock for your brewing needs, love this store
As usual the service is stellar.
Way better than most home brew stores Ive been to! The service can be mixed, Ill give the other reviewers that, but Ive generally asked my share of stupid questions over the years going from an absolute noob to someone who kind of knows the very limited basics. Ive had them grind a few recipes for me and asked suggestions along the way. Sure youll get the odd person who gives you the I cant believe you dont know that! type of look but all in all a good selection of merchandise. They do have home brew classes for folks with many questions, just have to get yourself on their mailing list. Plus you get to sample stuff, and who doesnt enjoy sampling? :D
Great selection and excellent service. They always have all the ingredients and supplies I need.
Great home brew supplies. Service was mixed. While one guy offered help and helped me find what I was looking for (no questions asked), at checkout, another guy became very condescending about wanting a non-bottling bucket.I just wanted an extra bucket for sanitation purposes. I will be using my bottling bucket to bottle, so I wanted another bucket as a just-in-case to sanitize anything that may have become contaminated or I have forgotten. I dont need another bottling bucket, so I didnt want to pay more for a lid or spigot. He became very condescending and said that Im the first person ever in existence to ever want an extra sanitizing bucket. He said, Thats how we clean our fermentor. I told him I had a carboy, so that didnt help me. He then quipped that We like to multitask. I would to, but if Im USING my bottling bucket, which I use to sanitize things, I need another container if I want to sanitize things.I get the impression that he views things as very black and white when it comes to home brewing. To me, the beauty of home brewing is that you can do things your own way (within reason). Its a great store. But with service like that, I had to fight not to just walk out without buying anything. I think theyre probably very helpful to new homebrewers. But if you dont do things the way they see it, youre stupid in their eyes. At least, it was like that for the guy that rang me up.
Stein Fillers has the supplies I always need and they are very helpful with any question I ask. I always go back.
These guys saved my brew night that was almost a bust, definitely buying all my supplies here now.
Buy local. Support your local Homebrew store and the knowledge they give.
Ive been brewing since about 1990. And up until a year ago was living in Long Beach about a 10 minute drive from Steinfillers. I have to admit I have not brewed any beer in over a year so I have not been in Steinfillers for at least that amount of time. But my goto guy there is Chip. Large portly fellow with balding red hair and sometimes sports a beard that to me looks like if he let it grow would turn in to one helluva Santa Claus beard. Chip is super knowledgable and has a great even keel temperament. If I were starting out brewing, I would make sure to ask for Chip. Same goes for the most advanced brewer. He knows it all. The other guys there are sort of hit and miss. Helpful yes, but sometimes a bit lackluster with the help. That why I am giving them 4 starts, Chip gets 10! The others ... 4 ... a 2 .... another 4. Take my word for it, ask for Chip.

The people running the store are humble people. I wouldnt go anywhere else to buy my homebrew supplies.
Awesome place with good prices run by experienced home brewers!
Very helpful....
Great place for homebrew supplies.
Wish there was a shop closer, but they have what you need.
Great store. Free brewing 101 class for newbies.
Great store, the sales staff are super helpful!
The best homebrew supply store in LA.
Cant compete with online pricing but useful for quick things like yeast.
Good selection of brewing provisions.
Great selection and helpful staff
Helpful and customer friendly.
If you are into homebrewing you will want to go here.
This place its far from me but i like it and they are friendly and they help you ...... A++++
A bit crowded and it also seems like this is a store for people who who already know what they are doing (advance brewers) if your beginner you will be overwhelmed.
My visits to Steinfillers are always A++
