Want to try kite boarding? This is the only place to go. While the sport may look basic, esp. to surfers, its anything but straightforward. The power you experience is breathtaking. You want instructors that know what they are doing and top of the line equipment.Jesse and Carter run the outfit and both have been kiting all over the world for the past 20 years. This place is priced right for individual lessons (student wears a helmet with a mic two way radio communicating with the instructor on the beach) as well as for equipment rental.Go nowhere else!
I had a blast with Jesse.Real nice and fun guy and really knowledgeable about what he’s teaching. I recommend 200%.
Just had a great experience e-foiling for the first time with Jesse instructing. One of the best instructors Ive ever had in anything, he is extremely knowledgeable, great personality, watches your every move like a hawk once you are on the board to give quick corrections over the two-way radio headset and his instructions are always on point and fix the problem. It was a fantastic day and I will be back for sure, money well spent.
I’ve had several lessons here and Al, Carter and Jesse are all amazing instructors and just awesome people! You get a nice text from Jesse the morning of the lesson with how the wind is looking for the day (🤙 emoji included). For me 2 hours is the perfect length and enough to use up all of my energy. Al carried the board or flew the kite as we were walking back upwind on the beach each time to give me a bit of time rest 😃.They have many duotone kites most of which are current year, as Jesse is the regional demo provider for Duotone. I’ve flown an Evo, Mono and a Juice with them.I highly recommend Off The Hook Kiteboarding for your lessons, they met all my expectations and more!
Had a 1.5 hr Lift eFoil lesson with Jesse. His instructions made it easy to start Efoil if in that short time period. I really appreciated the headsets we used to communicate with each other as he could give me live feedback as I was fouling. I would highly recommend trying the Efoil and having Off The Hook Kiteboarding teach you.
Jesse absolutely killed it !!!!Best time Ive had in a long time. I honestly regret not tipping him more.Hes a phenomenal instructor and breaks things down in a clean and easy to digest way with super dope personality backing it.Seriously just a well rounded dude. When we were at the beach all the local kitesurfers were constantly trying to come up and get advice from him or a little of his time, it was pretty cool to watch. If your thinking of getting into kite surfing this is the spot plain and simple.I had a blast and I hope you all do to!!🤙 If you see Jesse tell him Brando gave him a sweet shout out ;)
Best Kiteboarding instruction on the beach! Had a 2 hour one-on-one lesson with Jesse whos a great teacher. He was crystal clear with his instructions and an expert in kite control. Cant wait for the next lesson on the water. Keep up the good work!
Im a newbie to kiteboarding and tried a couple schools with not much success in getting up and riding. I took some lessons with Jesse and on the first day I was up and riding. The second day in the water I could ride in both directions. Very patient and excellent instructing made it a great experience. So good that I just booked more lessons for next month!
Great times out on the water foiling with Jesse. Great dude with great teachings skills 🤙🏽 Willbe back for kitesurfing lessons soon!
Absolutely Awesome instructors. A year ago, my son and I took two lessons with another school. We learned the basics and barely got up in two lessons. This year I felt we needed more information to get on the water and really start using our gear. My son and I took private lessons from Carter and Jesse and all I can say is the level of detail and patience was Off the Hook. They taught us so much about controlling the kite and serious safety issues we should have been aware of from the other school, but were never told. I personally had Carter and I can tell you hes an tremendous instructor, filled with knowledge and so personable. My son had Jesse and he felt the same about Jesse. Dana is 16 and Jesse really related to him and Dana felt a true bond. You cant go wrong with these two. Oh, and the gear was also top notch, especially the ability for the instructors to talk to us while were in the water. Ok, enough! Take a lesson and you too will be pleased.
Great instruction from Carter. He is very safety oriented, and determined to impress good habits and procedures on the student; and build on that foundation. Thanks.
I am on my 3rd session with Jesse. He is an excellent instructor and very knowledgeable about teaching (IKO certified), local wind conditions/patterns, gear, and kite safety. Off The Hook uses radio helmets that really help the learning process and the students confidence on the water . They are also focused on giving the client value for their money: wind dies, lesson is continued another day; wind comes up at the end, lesson gets extended(schedule permitting ); you start getting the hang of it, but time is running out, no worries, youll get a few more runs. OTH is definitely one of the best on the beach! Thank You Guys.
Had the best day ever trying efoil at Long Beach. I’m defiantly getting one after great instruction
Great instructors and an awesome time overall.
