I called and got a price on some materials for a project I am doing, got my price after the salesman asked if Id ever bought from them before, and I hadnt. I thought this question was so they could gather my information I had been a previous customer.When I got to the facility to purchase my steel, another salesman helped me and gave a price overall $80.00 higher because I was a new customer, but when I stated in had called and got a cheaper price, the phone salesman spoke up and told them my original quote. I asked what caused the price hike, and they admitted it was because I was a new customer, and if I bought more in the future, the price may be less.This sounds to me like they do not want any new customers, so from now on I buy elsewhere, even if I have to go to Tyler, Dangerfield, or even Dallas. Texas Iron and Steel can enjoy their existing customers.
