We had our 10th anniversary on a Saturday & I had not even thought about getting a cake or anything until that morning. Golden Flake saved the day! They made a 8 inch round cake & decorated it beautifully. I feel I was so lucky to get such an amazing cake at the last minute. The cake was so delicious & fresh as well. Thank you Golden Flake!

Last weekend we hosted a very special and very intimate event for my mothers birthday. We decided purchase one instead of doing labor. We requested, the customer service was poor upon requesting Tres Leches, there were no questions asked about the cake like, what size of cake, how moist do you want it, etc. I blew it off, placed the order. We picked up the cake at 4:17 in the afternoon, the exterior was beautiful, I was extremely happy and thanked them multiple times! Well I was worried because we were going to be in the car with the cake for more or less about an hour traveling to our destination, we kept checking the cake periodically to make sure it was still holding itself together, (because with tres Leches its heavy using four types of milk IN THE FILLING making it EXTRA moist and delicious) but the cake was perfect like as if we JUST picked it up, so I began to question how much milk was actually used, I put it in the fridge. We ate the cake about 10 pm that night, when we bit into it, the very top later was obviously creamy because of the whip, but after the very thin layer of saturated milk the rest taste like normal basic vanilla cake.. I was so disappointed and seeing my familys reaction, when this is a tradition and suppose to be a very special event. We did not finish the cake, it was not a tres Leches. I reached out after A WEEK of calming myself down. I reached out the owner and told her that it looked beautiful, but it was not what we asked for, we just simply would like our money back in the most professional and respectful way possible. She didnt let me speak, completely dismiss my feelings and compared me to other customers, their likes as well as rejected my refund and I was hung up on. I will settle this. I am a Direct Marketing Manager and own my own company. I know how to market a product, have a listening ear and be sympathetic, and MOST importantly take rejection with a positive attitude. People are unique, not everyone is going to be pleased with your product, despite all of it, no business should be ran this way.

Ordered a German Chocolate cake for my husband’s birthday. The cake looked very nice! The cake had a funky taste. Owner refunded money as they stand behind their work.

I love Golden Flake! I love their pastries! I love their cakes! We’ve had them make several of our family’s Birthday Cakes and they not only taste like cake but the cake has a splash of donut flavor! I could eat them all day!

Was NOT pleased with this place. 8 months Pregnant. Ordered a 50 dollar CAKE for my baby shower and got CUPCAKES instead. Didn’t even ask if it was okay. Didn’t look how I wanted it. Wasn’t what I wanted AT ALL. I previously bought a cake from here and it was PERFECT and delicious! All I wanted was the exact same cake. So disappointed.

Have been doing business with this excellent bakery for 10 years now. I drive across town to get their wonderful donuts and my grandson doesnt even recognize other places as having donut holes because theirs are always so tasty and so fresh. We have ordered several cakes from them and they are always well made, exactly as ordered and just as important ready on time. I have made and decorated cakes for years also and theirs are so well done that I would recommend them to anyone. On top of this they are dedicated Christian owners who donate weekly (for 10 years) to a local Alzheimers group.

Cant say enough about Golden Flake Bakery! Perfect every time! The best cake in town! Their work is amazing! My daughters 21st birthday cake was the hit of the party! It was a work of art, my family from Dallas couldnt believe that we could actually eat it! And if you ever need specialty cookies theirs are the best! If you havent tried them, you definitely should! You wont be disappointed!!!

I ordered a Descendants cake for my daughters 10th birthday and the cake was amazing! Usually we end up throwing away the cake after the party when the kids are done, but this time there wasnt a piece left. I highly recommend.

My favorite locally-owned donut shop in East Texas. Everything Ive had there has exceptional flavor and thickly fluffy dough. Very nice employees as well (who once gave me -- on my first time at the shop -- a free doughnut after realizing Id left my wallet at home out of town).

Ive been doing business with GFB for over 25 years. Everything I have ever ordered has been perfectly done! Ive never received such great product or service from the grocery store. Their apple fritters are the best BUT Christmas is coming and I cant wait to sink my teeth into some peanut brittle!

Very good, hot coffee.. morning pastries are delicious, but their cakes, OH MY GOD GOOD. Any of them from their regular birthday cakes to their fancy multi-tiered wedding cakes, all will melt in your mouth.
