Affordable Doors David Rodriguez has twice visited our home. First time back in December he replaced a broken spring, and yesterday when he replaced the entire system. He arrived when he said he would, and yesterday took about an hour to replace the entire system, while explaining what he was doing and providing me routine maintenance tips. We called Affordable Door because the springs on one of our garage doors were damaged and it was causing the door to jam and make a lot of noise when opening and closing. We were able to schedule an estimate within a couple of days, which was really nice. The estimator was prompt, courteous, and efficient, and was able to provide an estimate quickly. He recommended we fix both doors at the same time since they were roughly 18 years old. The cost to replace the tensions springs (2 per door) and add 6-foot metal braces to the top of both doors (the metal doors were showing cracks from wear & tear) was very reasonable.We called a couple other door repair companies, but only Affordable Door was willing to come to the house and actually look at the doors (and were better able to offer recommendations for other work that should be done in addition to fixing the springs). We obviously went with Affordable Doors estimate. We were able to schedule the repairs within a week.The repair technician was also prompt, courteous, and efficient. He had the repair complete within about 30 minutes, including testing the movement of the doors several times. When he finished, he showed us the work that was done, and had us open & close the doors a couple of times to see and hear the difference that the repairs had made (much quieter and smoother motion - no more jerking, jamming & screeching).We highly recommend Affordable Door for any and all your garage door repairs. Affordable Door has serviced our old garage doors twice now. Both times Carlos did the work and he did a great job. The loaded torsion spring went on both doors and on the second one it took out the pulley cable as well. Crystal was able to book us promptly and it was a fair and competitive price for repairs.Carlos suggested to my husband that we replace the rollers on the side tracks as he described them as “dried out”. I was skeptical that my husband had been “up sold”for repairs. When I came back from walking the dog I checked the old rollers and sure enough the ball bearings in quite a few of the rollers I tested were definitely shot. We used Affordable Door previously for replacing the springs on our garage door and they were great. This time we called them to do a high lift garage door conversion. The garage door is nice and affordable. The guy installing it was polite and informative on how to use the remote etc. The only thing I am missing is the final receipt that I supposed to get in my email.

Overall horrible experience. I rate Affordable Door with a 1 star due to lack of professionalism, customer service and courtesy.The company responded fairly quickly to my call with sending out a tech on Saturday 5 Sep 2020, 48 hours after I called. The tech appeared quite competent and knowledgeable as he measured the dimensions and stated he could not replace the door within a week. He called headquarters and was told the door panel was in Baltimore and available for pick up on Tuesday 8 September 2020. I paid my 50% downpayment and awaited the installation.After 10 days, I received no update from the company and I had to call for updates on my order. I called 4 times in a week and left numerous messages on their machine and was never called back. I eventually reached an individual on the 20th of September to finally tell me they did not have the door in stock and could not answer why the tech promised garage door repair and that there was a 6-8 week backlog. I asked why didn’t the tech or the company tell me this before I paid down payment if the door was not in stock and that this was misrepresented information because had I known I would not have committed. She apologized and refunded my downpayment. I then called Door Masters on 21 Sep who then came out and installed my door by 23 Sept.

Overall excellent experience. I had to wait for pieces to arrive, but work was completed successfully. Jimmy, the technician, went far and beyond to get a very old garage door to perfect order.
